Tonight, on Legend of the Hare, There’s dissension afoot in the Satanic 3 And Knuckles house. Which is Starflower’s house. How nice of him to invite Riley over. It’s a very nice house, and gets Starflower’s “aging hippie” character over well enough.

The girl drawing horses is (SHOCKING REVEAL) Mary Farrier, the Horse Champion who’s allied with the Hares, and was the 8-year-old girl that escorted Jill home, a mystery that oddly enough no one ever thought to ask about. The first thing I wrote for LotH was a scene that didn’t make it into the comic where Mary and Eion scoped out Jill secretly. Mary’s name is a pun (Mare-y), and a Farrier is someone who shoes horses. Having a punny name herself, she noticed the punniness of the name “Jill Leverett” and was the one who actually picked Jill to be the new Rabbit Champion. She’s also the one who made the Horsestone that can be used to teleport that Amaya had (moving people around being, of course, something horses are known for being able to do!) Mary is also how Starflower (her dad) seems to be aware of the shenanigans in the tower, which the lore posts hinted at a few times but never came up in the comic proper. Sadly, since LotH went off the rails, she never appears again after this cameo, despite actually being a massively important character behind the scenes.

It occurs to me as I’m posting that this page has a smooth continuous “camera movement”, zooming out of Mary and zooming into Riley. Someone better at art than me could probably say something really insightful about this. A writer type might also notice that Riley is talking about cutting Jill out of the band while cutting a slice out of an orange. Was that intentional on my part? It…might have been? I don’t really remember. I think it was, actually, but this orange metaphor is just here for the sake of being here, there’s no oranges anywhere when Jill next meets Riley to pay off the symbolism here. The footballer vs horse painting is a real painting, that was famously purchased by Homestuck artist Andrew Hussie. I can’t believe I never had a football-themed villain to match the painting. Chalk it up to inexperience.

ao3 homestuck literature roundup

ok so honestly some of the most impactful pieces of literature I’ve ever consumed... have been fanworks for the web comic Homestuck. while fanfiction in general has the potential for greatness, and there are definitely some non-homestuck works out there i that i’ve enjoyed, Homestuck has a unique potential for spawning creative, original and daring stuff! and there are so many new fans who didn’t even experience the first wave of ao3 webcontent. sadly the site has not proved archival quality when it comes to preserving content, and many fics I’m linking feature broken links/images or have been orphaned by their authors. I’m posting only what I consider to be Good Literature. these are pieces of writing that have struck me, haunted me, and made me cry. Thank you to the writers, and please enjoy! the full rec list is under the cut >:)

The Serendipity Gospels by urbanAnchorite (tzm) M

What is there to be said about The Serendipity Gospels? this illustrated fanfiction epic is a true classic. The use of Homestuck language and troll terminology on this fic is exploited to its utmost poetic potential, and every sentence is lyrical. While the story itself is original (and extremely well plotted!), events from the plot of Homestuck are echoed throughout, and it makes for a really satisfying read. This fic was published before Gamrezi was something that happened in the webcomic and gamzee had his downfall, if you’re hesitant to read it on account of the Gamzee<3<Terezi tag. Both of them are extremely well characterized. man... serendipity gospels gamzee is the best gamzee you can find on the market. definitely better than canon gamzee. And the pairing really works. The sad part is that this thing was supposed to be in three acts, and only two have been published. Since 2013... this shit sucks. i want act 3 so bad i’d commit heinous acts to receive it >:0

Cities in Dust (shit let's be hardboiled) by Cephied_Variable T

I’m not finished reading this yet but by now the ao3 handle Cephied_Variable has become a household name. This fic is... heterosexual. and where there were once illustrations, now there are empty white boxes. But the noir setting is played juuuust right, the soundtrack goes hard and it’s really fun to play the music in the next tab while you read, the writing is amazing (obviously) and... not to spoil anything, but it isn’t as much of an AU as it seems. really wish i could see the illustrations, bc the story is told through chatlogs like the source material.

Rule #2 by universe_c E (you can skip the sex scenes tho)

A super imaginative take on what Earth C might have been like. this fic was published while the comic was still updating, so earth c was a very distant possibility in the minds of fans, and in this work, all the players (every single troll, dancestor, human and cherub) are dropped on an uninhabited planet as an entirely new species with varying levels of godpowers, and they have to build civilization from scratch. It’s such an ambitious idea, and it was pulled of brilliantly! the author has more fanfiction online in that takes place in this universe, as well as selections featuring pairings such as Caliborn/Kurloz, an unexpected delight, and GamTav, a charming holdover from simpler times. This story in particular however focuses on Caliborn right after he passes through the gate. He doesn’t have a very easy time adjusting, poor guy. The narrative follows him as he rage-flees from his emotions to nonlinear points on the timeline of Universe C. Along the way he meets the family who he will someday love, learns about the civilization that will develop on their planet, gets laid, and matures a whole lot as a person. This fic is just.. really amazing. Read it!!!

Lost Teeth Like White Jewels by roachpatrol, urbanAnchorite (tzm)

Ok, so roachpatrol used to be a really big name in Homestuck fanfiction, but her stuff has... not aged well, and generally she is regarded (or at least she is regarded by me) as a pedophilic porn peddler, and she’s written a lot of nasty, scandalous smut. but you don’t have to read that stuff! This fic and this fic ONLY (don’t even read the other ones in the series, bro) is just a really nice soap opera. Bodices are ripped, eyes are gazed into in close proximity to an ocean. And the hemospectrum has been inverted. All in all, if you want something dramatic and romantic to read on a rainy day, this fic is where it’s at.

signalbeam is an author that wrote a lot of lesbian fanfiction in 2012. I haven’t personally read all their stuff but it’s all f/f and it’s fun to browse :~)

Everything’s set for the surviving players to pass through the gate and claim their Reward... the only problem is, dirk has lost the will to live and is in some kind of mystical coma. Jake is the only person who can save him, by venturing into his mind-palace and solving puzzles that serve as metaphors for everything Dirk can’t express. It’s kind of like inception wrt to the dream mechanics, but the author uses folk tales as settings, and it’s all very poetic, and very well done. this author deleted her account. i watched all the drama. however all her work is still online on the orphan_account. she wrote this series (people who like dirkjake and artistic pornography, give it a read!) and also a medievalstuck au i remember reading and loving, but cannot for the life of me seem to find :( it was about eridan and kanaya and it was good. rest in peace, venusianEye!

A Spark, A Flame, A Fire by callmearcturus E (one skippable sex scene)

The best kingdomstuck ever!!! \(^o^)/ ugh this fic is everything... the author has another kingdomstuck dirkjake multichapter novella online that is also very good, but this one’s my absolute fave :,] the strilonde fam is so cute, and dirk&jake’s blossoming romance (oh, yeah, you BET it’s an arranged marriage AU!) is so romantic it literally makes me clutch my chest and sigh. also the writing and worldbuilding are just IMPECCABLE. another lovely romance for a cozy night.

another arranged marriage fic! seriously, when it’s done right, there can be nothing better. John is the king of Skaia and Karkat is a political insult disguised as a peace offering. No better way to ruin your chances at diplomacy than offer an arranged political marriage between the literal king and a mutant military grunt who isn’t even the right gender. But... what if the king accepts??? omg guys they fall in love... and everyone’s a badass. another notable johnkat offering from his author would b Hurricane , wherein everyone’s punks and dave and tavros are gay rappers. there’s also Space Bro and California Dreaming , which feature karkat/sollux and eridan/equius respectively, and are humanstuck au with vague game memories and are both very sweet and romantic <3

House of Dirk by IMAC T

If you haven’t read House of Dirk... seriously, read House of Dirk. It’s a modern classic. A dadaist, genre-reconstructive, trope-subverting and absolutely hilarious MASTERPIECE!!! and the characterizations are pitch-perfect. this fanfiction can be cited as the spark which ignited the roaring inferno of Dirk/Caliborn shippers who can now be found online ^__^

Not technically a fanfiction, because this is 100% a comic, but if you want to read about Homestuck characters in a way that is engaging, innovative, touching and hilarious, you gotta read Jade Route! It’s the best thing that happened to jade since squiddles! the art is REALLY GOOD the characterization is REALLY GOOD god.. i love jade route.

BONES OF BLACK MARROW by oxfordRoulette E

an innovation in dirkjake pornography. this fic will make your head split open, and most of it is pornography of an exceptionally raunchy color. Basically, Dirk summons a demon (Jake) for stupid reasons and it fucks both of their lives up. Incredible work with formatting by the author, seriously who can even code like that, and i love the magical mechanics :) it’s very well researched and it really tears both Dirk and Jake to pieces psychologically. through porn.

Timaeus, Testified by sendificating NR

another fic that uses experimental formatting. It’s all about Dirk and it’s REALLY SO AMAZING.... a detailed and inventive psychological opus.

Okay I set meself some new goals for the new year. How have I been keeping up with them?

1) Write 250 Words Each Day

I have missed a couple days this month, but I have certainly written more than the equivalent of 250 words times 31 days. So while I did have some misses, I more than made up for them. This one is both a hit and a miss, but far more hit than miss. I am mostly on track with this goal.

2) Read At Least 55 Books This Year

If we are counting audiobooks, which we ABSOLUTELY ARE, I have finished ten books this month and am close to finishing two more. If I keep up this kind of pace, I will have met my goal by midyear. We will see if that happens, but I am very well on track with this goal.

3) Get A Full Time Job

I have not done this yet. But I did work two jobs all month with a grand total of two days off. I applied for 24 different jobs this month. This doesn't quite equal out to one job per day, and I certainly didn't do this every day, but that's a fair amount of effort. I worked a lot and I worked on the job search a lot. I've also edited my resume, worked on making a brand new one, and designed my own business cards. I think I am making some progress on this but it is just so hard to tell. I am working on this goal, but I do not know if I am on track.

4) Move Out

Yeah obviously this hasn't happened yet. Kiel and Steph have offered to let me move in with them in Milwaukee if I need to or if I get something there. It's so tempting to take them up on it. I might if I have no leads on the job search by the end of March, but both Kiel and I agree that this winds up with the risk that I just get stuck working at Target again. It's so difficult. And yet today, when my parents were out of the house, I hooked up my Nintendo Switch to the television and just played some video games and I also took out my ukulele and sang some dumb songs and I just felt like myself for the first time in a while, and God I just miss that so damn much. I wanna move out so fucking badly it hurts. Ugh. I will get there. I just need the full time job first. I do not know if I am on track.

5) Drink Less Soda

Well, I drank less soda. I didn't cut out soda altogether, but at least half the days, or maybe even most of the days, I didn't have any soda at all. And the days I had soda, I'm pretty sure I limited it to one, except maybe once or twice when it was two. But by and large I am still cutting down on soda. So that's good. I'm not losing weight, but that's probably because I'm not working physically anymore like I was at Target. The last two days I lifted weights, maybe I'll work out more? Either way, I just needed to cut down on soda, and by gum, I have been doing that. I am on track with this goal.

6) Get Something Published

I am going to be published in Eclipse, a fanzine based on Problem Sleuth the Intermissions of Homestuck. I finished the first draft of my fic for it this year. I also found a zine I might want to send some stuff to tonight, and I still intend to send stuff into The Green Light and Red Cedar. I don't know if I have anything good enough for Steam Ticket, but who knows? I should also submit to more places, and I have been bookmarking pages that have promising listings. I am mildly on track with this goal, but I ought to put more into it.

7) Finish Writing A Legitimate Businessman

I have written 6,654 words on this fic in this month alone. This is the most frequently I have ever updated it. It is not finished, but with every update I near the ending. Some of the endings have been as short as two or three hundred words, most have been around six or seven hundred, but at least one was fifteen hundred words, making it the longest chapter written in years. I am on track with this goal.

8) Write More The Revelation of Takaya According to Jin

I have not written ANYTHING on this fic this month. I did listen to some Lovecraft on audiobook and I've been reading a lot of poetry, so I'm gaining fuel I suppose, but I am not on track.

MINOR GOALS

9) Finish Playthroughs Of:

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild -- Success! I beat it on accident and started a new one. So this one is COMPLETED.

Persona 3 Portable 100%: I am on the last day or two. I tried fighting Margaret once this month and got royally scuppered up the barrelstopper. These sorts of super-hard turn-based battles are literally not fun. I also don't have any Armageddons and I don't know if it's possible to beat Margaret or Elizabeth without them. I don't know if it's worth it to try, but I also don't know if I shouldn't beat this and start a new game plus again. It's just……. I'm literally these two boss fights away from 100%, and I've NEVER gotten this close before. Guh. What I really need is Armageddon though. Sigh. Who knows.

Persona 1 Good Ending: Yeah I don't think I picked this up at all this month.

Pokemon Sword: I have beaten the main game and am partially through the post-game plot. It's just kinda boring at this point, but I will beat it I'm sure.

Pokemon Let's Go Eevee: I haven't picked this up this year, but I plan to. It's a fun little game. I'm at Cinnabar Island, so I'm pretty close to the end.

10) Record More Ukulele Videos

I played my ukulele a lot today?? I tried recording a song but didn't like it. I'm working on some stuff though, so I'm not doing this yet but I am at least getting started on practicing and planning

11) Record Let's Play Videos

Not even a little bit.

12) Duolingo?

I've done Spanish on Duolingo every day for 33 days straight. SUCK IT, Me from 2008.

13) Set up my turntable and listened to records on my own.

14) Added to my collections of books, amiibos, video games and movies, often in unexpected ways and sometimes at large amounts for little money. And sometimes not. Whoops. I cannot be trusted with money. Ugh.

15) Work out?? I have done so a little bit two days in a row. Maybe I can keep this up and do more. I ought to, since I'm not at Target anymore, and since I won't be at MATC for the time being I will have more free time to do so. It's worth a shot.

So I'm doing pretty well on the ones I can keep track of. I'm not doing PERFECT, but I do think I am doing really well.

Act 2 (271+)

Follow me down, down into a hole in the ground. I dug it just for you, exactly how you wanted me to.

Page 271 - Years in the future, but not many...

271. Before we get to 272, it looks like we have another little side trek with the Vagabond going down into the SBURB lair.

An unsealed tunnel welcomes hot desert air into its stagnant depths.

So onward and downward.

A. Down down down the ladder's rungs, with the outside world dwindling to a glowing circle, reminiscent of John looking up at the rayed sun in his blue sky, Before. (and in case it's revelant later, lots of purple.)

B. Sand at the bottom of the ladder. Serious machinery and cabling.

C. More heavy duty equipment, with the mandalogo and a gauge reading low and red. Almost out of something? (Survivors, maybe?) Some broken cables. Sense of emptiness, lonely abandonment.

D. How the hell am I reading wary curiosity into one barely-animated blinking eye?

E. Oh HOLY FUCK.

WTF, WTF, WTF? Okay — many, many thoughts here. Let's see if I can wrangle some kind of coherent specklation out of all this.

Thought the First, scrap everything I said in my previous post about the Vagabond's story being disconnected from John's story. [I have zero memory of this discovery, or I would have known I was talking out my ass, there.]

Thought the Second, maybe Skaianet (whoever that is) built this shelter so some part of their organization(?) could survive the apocalypse they planned to trigger. And they had reason to set up this screen and many big pipes/cables/pipes-carrying-cables bringing in data, for their own survivor(s) to record or observe the players who escaped through the game?

Thought the Third, this is years in the future (but not many) — so where are those Skaia-survivors now? Have they already served their purpose and abandoned this machinery? Did they die (entombed here, or wandering elsewhere)? Are they alive but out hunting food or information, and will be back soon?

Thought the Fourth: Or… is this all automated? The shelter wasn't intended for Skaia-survivors, but merely meant to preserve information about the End of the World for anyone who managed to survive it without escaping Earth? So built specifically for the Vagabond's ilk? (If so, why are the other screens blank?) And why was it important for this information to be preserved?

Thought the Fifth, the screen assembly is in the shape of SBURB's four-paneled Wonky House logo. Three blank screens = room to observe the other three kids? Possibly contingent on them also escaping through the game? (Or maybe any four who escape — no reason to expect "our" four connected characters would be the first/only ones to do so? Unless perhaps they were being specifically targeted, and were the only players given the correct punch cards/materials to achieve it. In which case why the convolutions and unpredictable outcome?)

Thought the Sixth: Is that screen a recording of what happened with John in the Just-Before Time? If so, is it on a perpetual loop? Or was the screen activated by the opening of the shelter's hatch? And also if so, why are the other screens blank — was no one else recorded?

Thought the Seventh: Or… weirder, that ISN'T a recording, but a live/simultaneous link, and what's on screen is happening right now. In which case either a) John’s house was transported in time as well as place, and HE is years in the future, or... b) the "years in the future" bit was a lie or a misleading truth, or... c) it's the assumption that we're on a post-apocalyptic Earth that is the misleading part — this could be some other ruined place, connected to what's happening on Earth only through Skaianet. (In which case the three screens are blank because no one else has escaped yet in the present.)

Thought the Eighth: Or weirder still, that screen is neither a recording nor a live link, but rather a strange one that can show the past — i.e, a direct link to what was happening then, with Earth's past and the Vagabond's present unspooling in parallel. (In which case the three screens are blank because no one else has escaped yet in the... past. [Getting just a smidge wibbly-wobbly there.])

Thought the Eighth, Corollary: If John DID jump to the future, then the strange link is the one between he and Rose, because she’s still on Earth in the past as far as we know, and therefore their Pesterlogs are being typed very asynchronously. [That’s more than a smidge.]

Thought the Ninth: Or perhaps weirdest of all, the Vagabond has joined us in being a reader/player of Homestuck.

Am I ready to go on to Figure F? No, I'm not sure I am, and this is getting long and I will not be getting to the main story's page 272 and beyond tonight, but the scroll bar says I'm almost to the bottom of the Vagabond page, so here goes.

FUCKING HELL I’m going to have to go back to the beginning of the “> BOY” shit and re-evaluate it all, figure out what it tells me about the Vagabond, and what it doesn’t tell me about the Kernelsprite. And... fuck, re-evaluate all those Thoughts up above too and... yeah, I’m not gonna be able to tackle all this tonight.

Expect a tangled backtrack and many more Thoughts for tomorrow, before I’m able to move ahead again. Cos wot the HELL.

HS Epi Meat p3 reaction

So, starting page 3 of the Meat today.

I've started wondering about the "ultimate self" and how it might come to play or be seen retroactively in Homestuck. A potential thing the story might touch upon is Jack, the only non-player character with multiple selves painting a picture of a grander self. There's also the bunny to some extent, but it's been more item than actor, with exception of the Liv Tyler & Lil Sebastian incarnation.

Also, I've started wondering what, in page 2, can be taken as indication that Dave & Jake have started growing towards that vague shape of an ultimate self. Jake's started sincerely enjoying the attention of the Earth C populace, it seems. Where he is more of a media celebrity, Grandpa was a celebrated entrepreneur. As for Dave, his social activism is of course influenced by his contact with trolls like Karkat with an outspoken idea on the matter. But his call to revolt reminds me of B2 Dave's, but implemented in a way that might please the Sufferer, if not Kankri too.

But anyway, are we going to follow Dave towards Dirk, or is the perspective going to switch back to John now, the first page in-canon? To recap, I believe he'll travel back to a moment in the Game Over timeline before Aranea killed anyone, and punch her. Or, he might punch either Jade or Jane, who at that time were mindcontrolled by Condesce.

(Also, I wonder if this is meant to be taken as that John came back from coming back on the fact he thought Con Air sucked or not. :P Fickle as the wind, that boy's opinions. ;)) Also, what did I spot there from the corner of my eye, a certain colour of pesterlog and a certain name in front... :::;) Time for John to derail a derailment of the alpha timeline! And in doing so... lending it legitimacy???? I mean, will the fact be brought up that John's original timeline was in fact a doomed timeline or not? The fact that he created a better future is irrelevant to some extent, the Aradiabots did the same. I mean, the juju is more potent than mere time travel, but still.

Also, now I think of the fact that the very thing Aranea set out to do : create a timeline that deprives Lord English's origin of legitimacy is in fact what John kind of went back to undo!

"The fridge pops open and out roll Aranea and Gamzee." Pffff, so he's literally going to nip her plan in the bud, right after she got her resurrection. What'll the ring end up being used for though, if it's not just going to stay on her finger like with Calliope?

"Gamzee honks" What else is new.

"Aranea staggers to her feet, looking rather pleased with herself. Until she notices you and gapes in bewilderment.

ARANEA: What are you doing here?!" That was not what she foresaw. Then again, did she really plan to take his ring KNOWING he would've disappeared?? That would mean she didn't know he received retcon powers, else it was kind of a gamble from the start!

"> Rose was perfectly clear about what to do next.

You make a fist, and sort of flinch and look away when you do it. No matter how many years you’ve spent living on a planet with absolute gender parity, this feels wrong. Still, you hit Aranea pretty fucking hard, underestimating your own strength just as badly as you did the last time you clobbered a hapless Serket. She goes flying back, hits the couch, and KOs instantly into a pile of Smuppets." I can picture this scene so clearly, since we have the circumstantial simultaneous scene to compare it, and yet I can't wait for the fan art.

"You then take her wrist in your hand, slide the ring off her finger, and" I wonder what this'll do! Finally we'll get confirmation on what removing the ring does, whether it just grants a fancy resurrection boon or the artefact needs to remain on the finger!

... I do wonder what Rose intended for John to do with the ring. ... Maybe they'll have post-retcon Game Over Roxy (R5 Roxy, since this is I believe the 5th retconned timeline John made) go to sleep and find Calliope, creating a different version of Calliope even though her ghost's in the dreambubbles and therefore outside this session's timeline?

"pocket it." Okay, so we won't see the effect instantly.

"> Isn’t there something you’re forgetting?" You turned your back on the body! the clown! the clown body!

"Gamzee stares up at you with his horrible, limpid eyes. There’s something serene, sinister, and sensual all at once about the look he’s laying on you." Is he... getting black feelings for John? ... Okay, Blap's theory is he's probably still looking quite stoner, still under Aranea's spell. That... actually doesn't make this any better.

"> Do everyone a favor and put an end to his preposterous narrative relevance." Uhhhhh... You canNOT put DOWN the CLOWN, John, everyone knows that. Also, killing? Not John's style. ... Will he just zap him into blankspace? Or captchalogue him, that'd be a laugh.

"You wisely decide that this clown will lend nothing valuable to the narrative whatsoever if he is allowed to remain outside of your childhood refrigerator." ... Ah. He's getting fridged again. :P Welp, you had your murderstuck episode three years hence Gamzee, that'll be all from you.

"You slam the fridge shut and resolve to never think about Gamzee Makara again." 'Put in the fridge' is the new 'put on a bus', then? :P ... I don't know how serious this is to be taken, I'm more leaning towards Chekov's Clown here.

"> Zap to the next plot point." Wow, okay, so... He... uhm, he doesn't stay here??? But... wait, okay, so, without Aranea, the whole session's still not going the same as the victory timeline. ... Wait, okay, Aranea wasn't "unalive" explicitly, just temporarily knocked out. The timeline could still continue as it was, Aranea pigheadidly going through with her plan. We saw it happen when he started rewriting the timeline in preparation for THE retcon, when Terezi smelled him in her house and after she found hints on the meteor towards it being Gamzee that killed Nepeta - the timeline would've just gone on as 'planned' if not for something major to change. The ring not being that, in this case, means Aranea will go to Derse, switch it for LOFAF... I wonder at what point, exactly, John will emerge to really derail the timeline. And what'll happen to that timeline's Condesce!

... Okay, admittedly, during the previous retcon, John first went back to the Reunion moment on his timeline before travelling further back and changing things...

Also, when you think about it, John just retconned a retconned timeline here, hahah.

Well, that's all for tonight - seeing as how the next page seems to be a whole lot longer again, it'd take too long to go through.

Famous Gal: You just have to post the right things. Like, look at this.

Famous Gal: Yeah because it's so weird. You have to find weird things and screenshot them, like one time I found this dude who had a fetish for women sharpening butcher knives but he was also an open fascist so I screenshotted the shit out of him. People tore him to shreds and I got so many followers! Oh, and then once I found this Britney Spears twitter bot that only tweets "help me", but it got deactivated. Oh, then someone tried to roleplay with me as Twilight Sparkle in my DMs.

Famous Gal: Of course I'm verified. I work in broadcasting, you doof.

Friend: Don't you just switch out advertisement tapes at the cable company?

Famous Gal: Listen, the fine details really don't matter. All I'm saying is it's not that big of a deal. Yes, I'm twitter verified and have tons of followers and fans and am also in a group chat with Eric Andre, Rebecca Sugar, Anthony Fantano, the guy who wrote Homestuck, everyone from Chapo Trap House, some irritating Vice journalist that people just sort of tolerate, and that Omocat chick, but that's all incredibly normal.

Friend: Well, is this normal too? *snatches famous gal's phone and tosses it somewhere far*

Famous Gal: What the fuck! Why did you do it.
