Its class time again! Today we are going to my #microbiologylecture and then heading to the #ucflibrary so #TheLordling can do his #collegealgebra and #biology assignments. #homeschoolschedules are working out rather well for us. His biggest issue since returning from his trip is finishing his daily work and getting on the #xbox only to realize that his friends do won't be home from school for another 4 hours. Sunday starts our #familyfitnesschallenge. Do you want to join us? If you saw my #homeschoolroomtour video yesterday (link in bio) you saw I have a big empty gap on my 2 babes personal bookshelves... I leave this space open so that when the time comes for my planning for the following year to start - I have space to add new books, resources and curriculum in, neatly and organized without needing too much thought (or frustration). . . Anything they’ve completed gets stored on the last shelf as a sort of record (I also have binders... K/Prekish things mostly in my mini crawl space closet). . . Once we’re done with an area of history I store it away in my closet OR I add those books to our personal library upstairs... easy to find and bring back down when I need them... also clearing up visual and physical space in the #homeschoolroom . . . - Morning Basket - Monday through Friday we follow a daily routine, especially in the morning. After breakfast we do some #morningbasket reading time before starting in on curriculum work. Each day is a different devotional and topic. On Mondays we read history. Tuesdays, science. I usually load up the basket with read aloud books and library books that fit our learning topics that week. Almost everyday my husband spends some time with them before he starts work and reads them something, too. This has been a nice addition to our year - both parents working from home now, so our morning pace has slowed down and we have had more quality time all together. I’ve also noticed that my oldest has started reading to her little brother more. ❤️ I love hearing her read to her little brother. Now that they are kindergarten and fifth grade, their attention span for reading is a lot longer, too. When they were younger, the books were shorter, and there were more toys out during reading time. What I recommend for a successful morning basket routine: -Cozy, comfy seating -Books that are interesting -Set a routine to keep it interesting and varied Do you have a morning reading time?
