What if Ichigo travelled back in time and struggled when faced with centuries without enemies, waiting for whichever enemy to arise?
Having spent most of his ‘adult’ life (does sixteen count as an adult?) going from one fight to the next in a constant race against the clock to get more power so he can face the next enemy, the sudden lack of an enemy would be devastating. Like a ship without an anchor or sails, he would be set adrift and struggling to find purpose and drive in a time that doesn't need him yet.
He could train for when the enemies arrive, but his means of training would be horrifying to anyone not in wartime. Training until he collapses was fine when there was an imminent threat, but with that threat centuries away, he’d be forced to stop by whoever takes guardianship of him because it's not healthy.
Without that, what would he do? Anything less would feel unsatisfactory, with all he knows, being harder, further, faster, and stronger, pushing his limits without rest or break. He’d be forced to stop and re-evaluate his life and who he is when there is no one to protect and nothing to fight.

This would actually be a really cool rewrite and a really cool way to fully flesh out the story while also giving it an interesting end. I like the change in Yhwach's motivation, the deal he made with Yamamoto. It makes it more compelling and also kinda makes Ichigo's powers less Gary Sue-esque, I guess. Him having a part of Hogyoku, a part of the Soul King within him, thus stabalizing his soul when he was a child because I'm pretty they said somewhere that he should've been torn in the womb for being a hybrid mess of Shinigami-Hollow-Quincy-Human. His powers kind of being sealed so he could a human was Kisuke's wish for Hogyoku so it did that but over time, Ichigo grew stronger and more aware of spirits.
Rukia and the Hogyoku Aizen planted inside her kickstarting his powers makes their whole friendship way more awesome as well because they're actually connected in a spiritual way. It makes Aizen and Ichigo's final fight more impactful-- the two halves of the Hogyoku fighting
Ichigo sealing his own powers away after Aizen is gones but slowly getting them back. Ginjo hearing about him and his powers and becoming interested. He wants to steal the Hogyoku in Ichigo but ends up only stealing a portion of it. Ichigo, believing that he had now lost his powers indirectly sealed them once more and Rukia comes back to kickstart it once more because even if the half of the hogyoku that had been in her is gone, some of it's reiatsu lingered and that came through in their connection along with all the other captains reiatsu
Ichigo gets his powers back and blah blah blah but rather than Ginjo training Ichigo and all that shit, it's more of Orihime and Chad's arc where he only joined because he was unwilling to leave them to this weird shady guy that wouldn't leave him the fuck alone
The whole thing about the zero squad and Yhwach using Ichigo to find where them and the Soul King were hidden is a really cool idea as well
Having the Soul King actually have a consciousness rather than being sealed away in an orb and a mutilated body kinda sounds like a cool idea too. Him making the conditions of the SS better (especially for RUKONGAI, yes I'm fucking bitter about that)
I'd be content with that sort of ending but if you wanna include the hell arc you can still do all the same shit as canon cause I'm pretty sure it was stated in one of the light novels that the Soul King didn't do anything to Hell beyond closing the gates
But in comes Kazui the even weirder hybrid. Who apparently sends innocent souls to hell behind his parents back??
But whatever. Yk those creepy hollows from hell that we saw in the No Breathes From Hell one shot? Yeah, I want Orihime's mom to have been attacked by one of those guys and that's how she became a fullbring. Yes, I'm doing that because my girl deserves actual screen time and some explaination on how exactly she became a fullbring just from proximity to Ichigo's reiatsu. If that was true, Tatsuki, Mizuiro, and Keigo should've gotten powers as well.
Anyways so some weird soul/genetic bullshit happened and Kazui, rather than having similar hollow powers to his dad, is a Shinigami-Hell Hollow-Quincy-Human (Fullbring I guess??) hybrid.
That's why he can open the gates of hell the way he did.
Also him taking a part of the Hogyoku from Ichigo in order for his soul to be stabalized
(Wow, the Kurosaki line is so fucked up when you think about it. If Kazui and Ichika are a thing like Kubo was hinting at, the soul situation of their offspring would be so fucking weird)
Anyways back to what I was saying, whoever the antogonist of the Hell arc is probably manipulating the kid and teaching him some fucked up shit and that's why his parents seem to have no clue
I'm pretty sure Hell is said to be an actual entity so maybe it's using Kazui in order to upset the balance because he's sending souls to hell right? Idk why it would do that but it'll be like an army and all the dead captains, arrancar and quincy.... yikes, they'll be facing the original gotei and all the other dead captains and Kenpachis
Since Yhwach is kinda gone in this rewrite you wouldn't have Kazui absorbing/destroying/what ever he did to Yhwach's soul wouldn't happen
That concludes my rant

I saw the ask about the hogyoku changing Aizen into a giant lol. I was wondering if you had any other crazy ideas about the hogyoku? Love all your writing! Please never stop
Firstly, thank you so much. 😍 I’m loving writing, so can’t see me stopping any time soon!
Secondly, yes, yes, a thousand times yes!
So I had this idea when talking about our favourite hat wearing pervert. What if.. WHAT IF!
When Urahara created the hogyoku, central 46 deemed it too dangerous, too much on an unknown, that they sent a team to secure the hogyoku, and bring it back to be destroyed.
The hogyoku, complex and with its own staggering intelligence, took the group of shinigami as a threat against its creator, and absolutely destroyed them.
Urahara’s brilliant mind couldn’t fathom the absolute grotesque carnage that he had just witnessed. Something in him snapped, brain trying to protect Urahara from the horrific scene caused by his own invention, created a scenario.
Yoruichi arrived at the scene, Kisuke clutching the bloodied, mangled corpse of his friend, Shinji. Eyes wide with madness, rambling that Aizen did this. Aizen turned the captains and lieutenants into hollows. And he had to help them.
There is no Aizen. There is no saving the visored. They’re all the insane imagines of Urahara who couldn’t grasp reality.
I had an idea that Yoruichi tried to nurse Urahara back to sanity, took him to the world of the living where he seemingly got better. Until the killings started.
Fulled by the encouragement of his dead friends who speak to him as though they are still here, Urahara sets out to destroy the threat, seeing Aizens face on his unsuspecting victims as he slaughters them in the dead of night.

sphaeraa asked:
Crawls into bed with him and lays down alongside to indulge in his warmth. [ for Aizen-sama ~ ]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warmth, gentle and so freely given. Hogyoku came bearing solace to his very being, breaking down layers which withstood decades and tearing back veiled barriers of illusion that were so strategically in place, but the reaper offered no resistance. On the contrary— he welcomed it in complete surrender.
Together— the loniless subsides. A graceful hand manages to find it's way around the form next to his own and a rare feeling burns a delicate heat from his chest, immediately accompanied by an intense sense of the desire to protect what he held. His last fleeting thoughts before slumber over swept him.

What if Aizen and/or Ichigo travelled back in time and went way too far back to the very beginning of the Gotei 13 before the first Quincy War when the first Captains were still the criminals and murderers they had been before Yamamoto united them?

Young bloodthirsty Yachiru Unohana

honestly fuck aizen but you know how insane and sicknasty it would have been if kubo gave him a better motive than “loneliness” or at least explained it better. you’re not getting me w some sob story abt how he had no equal so he committed mass murder and colonized a place. that’s straight nonsense.

Aizen: I feel the power of the Hogyoku vibrate in me !
Urahara: well ..
Ichigo: hold on
Aizen: the vibration is powerful !
Ichigo: sure ..
suddenly the Hogyoku stops working as Aizen lays powerless on the ground
Aizen: what's happening
Urahara: I believe the battery needs to be changed
Aizen: what
Ichigo: wait for it ..
Aizen starts to get pale: you don't mean ..
Urahara: yes .. I like that back actually .. If you don't mind
Ichigo laughing at Aizen's face: there it is !

The silence between is without the interruption of awkward, or uncomfortable air.                   They are devoid of discomforts, and so they might simply be at peace with one another when the opportunities are ideal.                 Aizen and the Hōgyoku have reached the final stages of preparation.                               They have exchanged more than moments of silence, of course, in times apart from prying eyes. What synergy Aizen shares with the sphere now, is why the vessel is devoid of worry and distraction. That is why the Hōgyoku does not shy from the acknowledging touch as it finds place upon him, nor does the powerful resonance of his purr lessen.                                 If anything, as Aizen’s touch begins to traverse into cognitive caresses, the entity easily settles into a tender lean to cant his head nearer, a low hum of acknowledgment eliciting warmly from the vessel’s chest.

Though he doesn’t force himself closer. He’s only as able to advance as much in body, as he is in ambition. No less, he’s devoted to returned adoration, regardless of its form.
This, he could admit was attributed to Hogyoku. His newfound, recent peace of mind. That he could watch as their path unraveled, likened unto his vision. Falling into place, piece by piece. Truly these moments were to be savored. Fingers caressed smoothly over the formless whom had taken a chosen form. Tracing along structured features, flesh manifested over bone, upwards along and through long tresses.
Tumblr media
How amusing, the sphered diety did shift forms quite often, so often so that Aizen had yet to settle on a personal favorite. This one was an intriguing vessel on it's own.
Stroking continued, ever mindful, fingertips almost attempting to discover more, if only it could be that through touch alone the information might be transfered in completeness—were it possible to know more.
Undoubtedly, it was a shared understanding, although it was beyond that alone, it was a certain knowing that the other had full transparency into Aizen's being in its entirety. And still the entity had never rebuked him, not once had he felt rejected, so it was that he knew Hogyoku had hidden nothing in return but in these moments the reaper felt a deeper yearning. He did fear this. That he would come to revere another, he did recede. For what he held was that of never admiring another more then his own self, should he ever falter to this—he would be furthest from understanding.
That could never come to pass.
If such a thing were meant for him. Surely this would be of whom he would— cherish.
