What REALLY happened to the Hisui form pokemon?

So, like, I've noted that a decent portion of the fandom seems to assume ALL the hisuian variants have gone extinct, but when you think about it that's not quite the case.

You have, like, four variations.

Lost evolution. This fits any pokemon that's still in Sinnoh in the present but can no longer evolve. Ursaluna, Kleavor, and Wyrdeer cound here.

Regionally extinct. Variations of pokemon no longer found in Sinnoh in the present, but whose base form still exist elsewhere. Lilligant, Basculegion (depending how you view white striped basculin), Avalugg, and Braviary. Would also count Goodra.

Variation extinction. When the species is both unavailable in present Sinnoh, and it's variation also unavailable elsewhere naturally. (For the sake of consistency the great crater of paldea doesnt count) Zoroark is the main example here.

Implied evolution. This is species of pokemon that have a hisuian variant but are also available in Sinnoh in the modern timeline, giving the implication that these pokemon may have evolved into these later forms due to changes in their enviornments, removal from hisui, etc. This mainly includes voltorb (whose available in sinnoh via the swarm feature), growlithe, and of course sneasel.

These examples also overlap. For instance, while sneasel is still around in Sinnoh, it's evolution into Sneasler appears to be lost with Weavile seemingly taking it's place. So this overlaps both with the implied evolution and lost evolution variations.

Now I'm sure I'm not the only person whose made this observation. But while thinking of the various reasons the hisuian pokemon aren't around anymore, it got me thinking about the nobles, who are all exclusively hisuian pokemon. I, like a lot of other people, was a bit sad they more or less died out.

But then I remembered breeding was a thing.

Considering the nobles could breed with other pokemon not of their species, or that their species would evolve into something else, its fully possible the nobles of Hisui actually still have descendents in Sinnoh.

To give an example, Lady Sneasler's might be a pack of Johtonian Sneasels and Weaviles.

Lord Wyrdeers descendents are likely just Stantler. Same with Ursaring.

Then you have examples like Lady LIlligant. Although Lilligant aren't available in Sinnoh anymore, perhaps her descendent is instead a Roserade or something.

I just think it's a fun thing to think about.

Perhaps the noble blessing has been passed down, even with people seemingly forgetting about it.

((Also for the submas fans. Imagine Ingo coming to Hisui and finding a group of sneasels and weaviles that he somehow realizes are Lady Sneaslers descendents. Just think of the heartwarming nostalgia and bittersweet happiness that could bring.))

a sincere and not late at all celebration of pla's first anniversary!! took me a while cuz i really wanted to create something that would sum up everything this game meant to me

team headcanons and sappy stuff under the cut <3

Samurott/Takashi:

sees himself as the dad/king of the group since he's been there the longest

strong sense of nobility and duty that presents itself in the form of a big ego

very loyal and would do anything for the team

curls up by my feet when we go to sleep

Espeon/Asahi

the smart one

usually sleeping because he's done with everyone's crap

a little sad because i use him as death fodder a bit too often

knew Volo was evil the whole time but nobody believed him

Luxray/Kaminari

has the energy of a monster drink or a club soda and there is no in between

always raring to go, ready to be sent into battle, only to get knocked out immediately

likes to bite things

has an ongoing rivalry with samurott, as the both of them have been on the team for the longest

Arcanine/Tengan

a very good girl

likes to fetch, break rocks, get berries out of trees, etc

also likes to battle, running around the battlefield with vigor

her fur still covers her eyes, which used to make her pretty clumsy, but now she's running around all over the place without an issue

was kind of a loner when she was first caught, but quickly became really friendly

Braviary/Tsubasa

not the greatest in battles, but can still hold his own

really shines in the air, great flier

has a really good eye and can spot things from far away (like those gosh darn wisps)

i like to imagine my braviary and the ride braviary are the same

Zoroark/Udon

the baby of the group, everyone looks out for her and spoils her

a little shy but warms right up to you

best friends with Braviary!! when she was a Zorua she'd ride on his back and they'd go flying

she did the finishing blow on Giratina and everyone was so proud of her

anyways i love them all and i love this game. kept me from going crazy in tough times :p. I struggled a lot deciding what i wanted to draw for this, but I knew I wanted to have the sky in it. i look up at the sky in pla all the time cuz i think it's really pretty. it's really simple but still really nice :) and then it dawned on me while i was listening to the ost (which is fire, btw) that, oh yeah i should draw my team!!

ok anyways pla wasn't perfect but i really loved it. professor laventon my beloved. bye.

Pokémon Warden Project

Day 13: Sabi

Personal Opinion: Sabi is a character I have mixed feelings about. I do think she’s cute and her potential clairvoyance makes for something fun to explore. But I do also think she’s a tad annoying given how she makes you go galivanting around the Icelands for pretty much no good narrative reason. I don’t really dislike her and feel she’s still enjoyable enough, but she’s not winning the favorite trophy anytime soon.

What was kept: It does admittedly make me laugh that such a little girl like Sabi canonically has three monstrosities of Pokémon on her team, since I such contrasts are amusing. Her Rhyperior, Magmortar, and Electivire not only are cleared to stay, but they lay a foundation of a pattern for the rest of her team that I strive to continue. Sabi is the Warden to the Ride Pokémon Hisuian Braviary, who keeps the skies safe while enduring its blistering winds.

Substitutions/Additions: Since Sabi’s canonical team members are all new evolutions that were introduced in the Sinnoh region, I wanted to keep that going. Hence why I chose Dusknoir, Roserade, and Honchkrow to fill her open slots. None of these three really have individual reasons as to why I selected them like a lot of the other wardens’ new additions, as the shared intention was just to basically make sure they fit the theme. These three were simply choices that hadn’t been assigned to anyone else yet, so they were free to be fit in with Sabi’s group.

Non-Hisui Alpha Collection

Did you know you can collect Alpha Pokemon from outside the Hisui Region?

You can't use them in Hisui, and they won't do anything special outside of PLA, but when you view then in PLA mode in Pokemon Home, they will display as an Alpha.

You can take anything that has a regular pokemon that evolves into a Hisuin form, and evolve it outside of the game.

The list possible:

Typhlosian

Avalugg

Samurott (Not available in Gen 8 to evolve the Dewott into the Unovan form, but I'm going keep a spare one just in case)

Decidueye

Liligant

Braviary

Sligoo

Goodra

Galarian Mr. Mime
