In a since-deleted post, Yuzuru Hanyu and Dean Fujioka pose with choreographer David Wilson. Fantasy on Ice has starts tomorrow in Niigata. Official cutouts have been brought to the training rink, and multiple skaters have photographed them. Johnny Weir made a reel and tagged Yuri on Ice PR.
Maybe it is the copium talking, but my question is why?
Why bring the cutouts? The kiss and cry one is typically only seen at official events. If they are there just for skaters to take pictures with and post - why? Yuri on Ice has been absent from advertising and merchandise for a long time, now. This is helping to bring it back into the spotlight, especially paired with Dean Fujioka performing “History Maker”. This all seems very suspicious.
I personally think this could potentially be a first step towards bringing Yuri on Ice back into the spotlight, gearing up for news coming soon.
Bless the day that my online friend gushed about YOI and caught sixteen year old me's attention.
Bless the day that I binge watched it with my little sister.
Bless the day that I realized how perfect Viktor and Yuuri are a perfect couple down to their ship name. Not every day that a ship spells a word that ties in so well with the story.
Bless the day that I learned History Maker and changed the lyrics to, "We were born to ship Viktuuri!" Bless the day that it was in English!! T-T
Bless the day that we managed to watch it in the cold winter.
Bless the day that I fangirled with my online friend and created the term, Huggles over the scene of Yuuri chasing Yuri.
Bless the day that led to laughter and tears.
Bless the day that I listened to the soundtrack to relive moments in the anime.
Bless the day that my sister and online friend watched the opening and realize it was beginning to explode with colors.
Bless the day that I was taught that it doesn't matter what stage of life you're in for you to follow your dream. I really need that now that I'm an adult.
Curse the day that Ice Adolescence was cancelled.
Curse that day.
Bless the day that Yuri!!! on Ice entered my life.
