Concept for a live-action, Avatar Studios limited series: “Sokka”
Plot: Taking place twenty years after the events of ATLA, Sokka, who is now a fully established warrior of the Southern Water Tribe, is called into action when he learns of a plot on Fire Lord Zuko’s life.
As he investigates, he uncovers a conspiracy that threatens to pit the Fire Nation and Water Tribes against each other in another devastating war.
Story notes:
1) The main villain faction is a secret, radical Northern Water Tribe group that wants a war between the Water Tribes and Fire Nation in order to avenge the atrocities done to their people. So Sokka’s conflict in the miniseries is about him having to go up against the Water Tribe in order to expose the conspiracy.
2) The series is a political/espionage thriller along the same vein as “Falcon and the Winter Soldier” or “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”
3) This is only a limited series, as in only one season with no loose ends.
4) To keep the focus on Sokka, the rest of the Aang Gang don’t appear in the series. They’re only mentioned by the characters.

Main Cast:
1) Martin Sensmeier as Sokka, our main protagonist
2) Gemma Chan as Suki, our deuteragonist. At this point in time, Sokka and Suki have gotten married and Suki has stepped down as leader of the Kyoshi Island Warriors in order to let someone else lead the group (this is part of a subplot about passing the torch to the current generation).
3) Hiroyuki Sanada plays the tritagonist. He is a friendly Fire Nation officer who learns of the conspiracy to start another global war and decides to team up with Sokka and Suki to prevent it from happening.
(going back to the “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” comparison, if Sokka is Steve Rogers and Suki is Natasha Romanoff, this character would be Sam Wilson)
4) Adam Beach as the main antagonist. He plays the head of the radical Northern Water Tribe group that is trying to kickstart a war between the Fire Nation and the Water Tribes.
5) Ashley Liao plays the current leader of the Kyoshi Island Warriors and Suki’s main apprentice
