After the lockdown silenced the Higantes festivities, Tupe finds himself jobless and isolated. He sees a glimmer of hope when he qualifies to receive financial help from the government. But getting his hands on that money is not as easy as he thought it would be.

Buod ng Ibong Adarna : Ikalawang Bahagi

The child in me is hungry for these humble crumbs of joy.
I wince each time I see the sun rise over the hills. I used to smile at the dawn back when I was a young boy. Back when a new sunrise meant riding bikes through sloping terrain in the company of neighborhood friends, passing chapels and glorious gardens, retired and tattered giants once paraded during higantes festivals, carvings of duendes made of wood and stone, and ever-tall flowering trees that kept the fresh cool breath of mountain soil. I used to stretch my arms wide and bask like a rooster on his stand, like a newly formed butterfly preparing his wings. I thought I would fly far.
Now, I am old. I see my childhood on the windows of LRT trains as it passes buildings that resemble graveyards. I see it in the toys children hold. I see my childhood on the droplets of rain beside me in a packed van taking me home for the night. You think you’d get stronger after years of this routine but you just get used to it. You get dull. I get an urge to run around the wet pavement barefoot with my office tie loose around my collar.
Instead, I accept my fate as the golden beams hit my face. That I am one day older. That each day brings me closer to 30 without achieving anything significant and life-changing. That I am frailer: the only things I gained are wrinkles and aching bones and debt that need to be paid. That yet another cycle had been wasted. That my dreams are left in sleep as clouds and stars pass the sky. That I am still trapped like a tethered ghost unable to move on and transcend and transform.
I miss the days when one day began and ended in seamless tranquil daydream-like waves. Days were not meant to be counted, only enjoyed. But here I am scrambling to fit whatever joy I could find into the miraculous crevices of my packed schedule. The child in me is hungry for these humble crumbs of joy. Fleeting, ever-slimmer as life gets harsher.

Antipolo City  ---------------------------------------
Tumblr media
Antipolo City
Antipolo, officially known as the City of Antipolo, is the capital of the first-class component city of the Philippine province of Rizal. The 2020 census reports that 887,399 people live there. In the Philippines, it is the eighth-largest city by population and the most populous city in Calabarzon. In terms of component city, it is also the most populous city. Since Antipolo has a higher altitude than Metro Manila, it provides a scenic view of the city, particularly at night. The mangoes and cashews grown in the area are popular with tourists, as is suman, a sticky rice delicacy. This national park, formerly a popular summer destination, is being rehabilitated to make it.
SOME OF FAMOUS TRADITIONS IN ANTIPOLO CITY
AGONO'S FAMOUS FESTIVAL
HIGANTES FESTIVAL
Tumblr media
Higantes Festival is a local festivity held in Angono, Rizal, Philippines every year. Thousands of oversized papier-mâché puppets are marched around the streets as a way for the common people to ridicule the evil hacienda owners of the past who were under Spanish colonial rule. It eventually evolved further to commemorate the feast of Pope St. Clement I on November 22 and 23. The foundation of the festivity may date back to the Spanish colonial era in the late 1800s. The ruling class, who regarded Angono as their hacienda, imposed a year-long restriction on the common people utilizing puppets arihueti. The former finally broke their cell with the higantes and used the papier-mâché heroes, which they called as hacienderos, to mock their owners.
FLOAT PARADE
Tumblr media
The Grand Float Parade, an annual event that showcases colorful floats, this time with characters from the animation world or the so-called "anime", is expected to attract more visitors, including the younger generation, who will spend the entire day in the city on April 6 to watch their favorite Japanese television and movie characters impersonated by the float parade participants. According to Mar Bacani, director of the Antipolo City Culture Arts and Tourism Promotions Office, each of the city's 16 villages will have its own distinctive float with an anime motif. Private companies, such as food stores and local schools, are also scheduled to participate in the float procession as guests.
SUMAKAH FESTIVAL
Tumblr media
Sumakah Festival is an abbreviation for Suman, Mangga, Kasoy, and Hamaka, which was previously employed as a mode of transportation. The festival was developed to promote Antipolo's unique products. The celebration takes place every May 1st. The festival conducts a variety of activities, including the Alay Lakad. The Alay Lakad marks the start of the festival. The festival also includes beauty pageants, street dancing, and other performances by Antipolo inhabitants. It takes place on May 1st. It is also planned to honor the Black Nazarene who is being carried to Antipolo Cathedral.

Ang Pambihirang Paglalayag ni Nene sa Singapore!
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Matapos namin libutin ang buong S.E.A.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Namamaalam, Nene.
