“... Uh, senpai?”

This was — weird. Did she mistake him for Yu or somethin'? Kanji didn't look like Yu, didn't carry the same stoic, leader characteristics, didn't handle an awkward conversation with as much finesse. Were Kanji to count the differences, he'd run outta' fingers, outta' toes, and Kanji's not too sure what else he'd have to count with at that point. Rise's not an idiot, either, she's gotta' head full of smarts... but also, a head full'a Yu, not Kanji.

There's also the issue that Kanji had never been hugged by a chick, either, nevermind being... what even was this, cuddling? Cuddling a girl, guy, anyone else had only popped into his head twice in his whole life, and each time he shot it down himself, worries overpowering any meandering fantasies he had going on in that skull of his. He realizes, belatedly, that he probably looks like a dummy, the kind made outta' plastic and posed for fashion and whatnot, all slack-jawed with a dumb look in his eye that only dummies have.

Blink, blink. Awkward cough, a shifting of gazes.

Oh my gosh, too many to list but I’ll try to highlight some off the top of my head, if I leave anything or anyone out, I’m really sorry.

What are your favorite ships on here?

@foxinasmock​​ - It was this ship that first put the idea of Ryuji and Yusuke as a couple into my head.  As a couple they’ve been very vulnerable and tender and open with each other and you can just really feel their love for each other.

@shymaru​​ - We’ve talked of doing them as a ship and although we’ve yet to pull the trigger, I feel the contrast between them presents a lot of interesting possibilities and they already have such a strong pre-established bond that I’m very excited to see how they match up as boyfriends.  They’re absolutely one of the two reasons I want to check out Dangranronpa someday and learn more about Ishimaru.

@mechahero​​ - This is another one that hasn’t really been executed but their friendship has always been a favorite of mine, always will be.  I can’t wait to take the next step with them.

@mo-and-co​ / @stellatenuem - I always appreciate hearing how passionate they are about the ship, I can’t tell you how much it makes me happy and grateful to have such an enthusiastic and amazing partner and I am so so excited to write things with them.

@healingwords​ - I can’t say enough amazing things about Thaly, shipping with them has always come naturally and they always have such wonderful ideas.  Their Ann is so strong and amazing and I honestly feel that our RyuAnn are more than a match for each other and build each other up.  I can’t wait to write our other upcoming ship, I know it’ll be great.

@more-than-a-princess​ - They’ve always been so so passionate and keen on Ryuji and Sonia and I love just exchanging ideas and plots with them.  Ryuji and Sonia are the epitome of a slow burn and the tension and build up has been amazing and a privilege to write.  I can’t say enough amazing things about them - they’re one of the few reasons I actually want to check out Danganronpa - to get to know Sonia.

@sakuradreamerz​ - Such a lovely mun and ship partner.  Ryuji and Esther are so shy and cute around each other.

@theshytigergirl​ - Our ship is definitely an oldie but a goodie and Ryuji and Noah are definitely couple’s goals.

@detectivcprince​ - The potential of a ship has only been briefly touched on but we’ve talked about it and it’s a very different and a very angsty and whirlwind-y type of ship and I’m veru excited to execute it and see how it goes.

@fellstarsirius​ - Definitely two cuties together and Sothis absolutely spoils Ryuji.

For months the duo had a routine, they would hang out after school..or at least during days Yusuke didn’t skip, they would meet with one of his friends in the city and THAT in itself turns into a little adventure. Then came their little alone times in diners or whenever he’s taking her to her modeling gig. The detective couldn’t believe that he actually KNOWS a real model, she really looked the part. 

Throughout most of these little dates they’ve gotten to know one another as well, eventually Yusuke came clean to her about why he’s here in the first place and even explained why he is a spirit detective. How much of that did she actually believe?? He couldn’t tell but she never stopped hanging out with him, including today as well where she was extra..affectionate? For one she grabbed his arm a lot and consistently made looks at him.’

He raises a brow as he turns to look at her. She said something under her breath…though he couldn’t hear what it was exactly but it was probably something along the lines of ‘I like spending time with you’. Though of course Yusuke ignored that considering that would only dredge up feelings, Ann wasn’t having it and bluntly asked quite the question. “Hell are you talking about?!” Then he ASSUMED she had said she liked spending time with him, now for her to say THAT he needed to think back on their recent activities. Sometimes they’d even go to dinner after a movie.

‘OH shit she REALLY took me out on dates!!’ He spoke in the back of his mind, HE couldn’t believe he did not catch on earlier so of course Yusuke was petty enough to play as though he was fooling her. “‘Course I knew what you meant I was just screwin’ with ya.”

           She hadn’t been out to this part of North America in ages, last time she was on the Southern East coast of the United States, the states hadn’t even truly been united at that point. Colonies, mostly. There had been stirrings of an artifact here, one she was able to easily obtain before Abstergo was able to find it, neutralizing the threat of both the item of interest and the foot soldiers sent in at the same time. She decided to celebrate before leaving, heading to a local bar to just unwind from the eventful day. Arriving at peak hours was the best way to go unnoticed. Even with people being taller in more modern times, she stood out at six foot even. Sliding her way to the bar, she ordered a whiskey, straight, no ice. There was hope for a quiet night, but something had caught her attention, some sort of source of power... it couldn’t be an artifact, Aletheia had only pinged one Piece of Eden here. Turning, she scanned the room to try to find the source. No rest for the eternal, was there?

He remembered seeing her and Mina work on combos and to be honest the idea sparked an interest in shoto, had there been one other person that could work around his two quirks then Ochako was one of those students. Or perhaps this is just him trying to reach out to befriend more of his fellow students. After all, he knew going about this life alone is never truly the answer, teamwork was an important element and friendship strengthens teamwork..so how does one make friends?

They were classmates yes but never once had he remembered having one on one time with the gravity hero. So the moment class ended Shoto reached out towards the girl. “My name is Shoto and I’d like to form a bond with you.” Stoic, too the point but honestly he tried his hardest to be heartfelt and sincere in the moment, even if his face didn’t show it.

CLOUD FOUND HIMSELF in a familiar setting , clunky footsteps guiding him to the bartop. His sword rests just beneath the counter , moving to rest his temple on a perched hand. He looked somewhat distracted , but gave no indication that he’d speak to whatever troubled his mind.

“Hey--!” he reaches forward, grasping the woman’s hips to pull her in. Though, despite his exclamation, he can’t help but grin and a laugh spills from his lips.

“Don’t let it get out. That’s our little secret.” There were few who could accomplish such a feat. It wasn’t his fault he found it arousing.

She had told him of her friend Shiho, a story Yusuke could have hardly swallowed without wanting to storm through the police station to beat the crap out of that Kamoshida, but for Ann’s sake he did something no one would probably predict he’d ever do: he behaved. He simply stood there in silence, his hands within the pocket of his jacket as she continued to tell him how the doctor’s were uncertain if she were to ever walk again considering how damaged her body had become after the fall.

He had no idea the girl was carrying such a darkness inside of her, granted he’s only been with them and knowing about the metaverse for no longer than two weeks..but still. He’d figure someone like him who hides his own turmoil would be able to recognize when someone else was doing it. To be quite honest he didn’t know what to do, it wasn’t like he was built to handle situations like this.

“From the way you describe her, she sounds like a fighter. Sure it looks like crap now, but don’t throw in the towel..not yet.” Without realizing it Yusuke had already invaded her personal space, though his tone was kind he felt that action might be the best thing to do. It wasn’t a secret that Yusuke had taken an initial liking to Ann considering the amount of times he’d tease her through missions and whenever he’d find her on school grounds.

So without really thinking, he just knew he wanted her to stop crying. So after gently taking a hold of her hand he leans into her placing a gentle kiss upon her tears in an attempt to stop them from falling. Was Yusuke a smooth operator and knew how the heart worked? No, the reason he even made a move like this was because he’s seen it done in so many damn k-dramas..not to mention he was desperate for ideas. “No matter what you’ll be dealin’ with, I’ll be at your corner.”
