Bowser doesn't really have any allies in my AU. King Boo and his boos are a really small community of creatures in comparison to Bowsers kingdom. And they mostly just stay in their forest and mind their own business. And yes sometimes troops go into that forest and King Boo takes them. But Bowser doesn't care about a few measly troops disappearing. It would only be a problem if huge clusters of troops went missing.

Point is though, King Boo and Bowser have no alliance. They just kind'a leave each other alone.

As for King Bomb Omb and King Thwomp? I pictured them to be mega troops created by Kamek. Thwomps are supposed to be these enormous bricks from an old temple that were brought to life. Perhaps King Thwomp is a huge wall of bricks that didn't separate when they were brought to life? King Bomb Omb could be the same. A giant experimental bomb omb that was brought to life.

In the end, King Thwomp and King Bomb Omb were created to serve Bowser. He treats and uses them as tools. Nothing more really..

Our Life: Beginnings & Always.

Hello Hello! Welcome to my first ever post on tumblr that just had to be about my ultimate top tier favorite visual novel of all time..Our Life: Beginnings & Always or OL:BA for short.

This game has such a special place in my heart that im afraid I’ll forever be attached to it because at this point it’s not even a phase anymore lol. I still remember that heated summer day of scrolling down on my steam shop out of boredom and i kept getting recommended OL:BA but back then i really couldn’t care less and would not even spare a glance on it until i got so fed up of it popping up in my recommended for the next few days that i decided to finally check it out.

Reading what it was about made me curious but what really got me downloading it was because of the customization of our character/characters.

And finally into the game i was! I remember when the story started, i was very surprised already by the environment, narrative and world building of the game. It truly felt like i was part of it and i didn’t get bored at all. In fact right from the start i was hooked already!

I loved ALL of the characters that was introduced, i love the fact that it was SO multiple choice that it felt like you were really integrating yourself/oc onto the game and that you’re not just forced to say the same thing as a different choice or feel as though your options are limited. Its definitely a game that you’re supposed to replay over and over because its just that fun!!

And as someone who has never had a great childhood and adolescence, absentee parent, chaotic household, unsupportive friends, want to be understood (you know…this and that) i was so happy that this game was doing that and it genuinely gave me hope to live despite going through the darkest of times in my life :)

This game has changed me into a better person and made me want to be the best version of myself that i want to be in the future! I will infinitely recommend this to anyone who wants to have a feel good game/read (+1 it will make you cry!!)

Anyway enough yapping 💀 Time to get to the point.

one thing i noticed about our life is it lacks certain angst aspects when the baxter dlc didn’t exist YET back then. like i LOVED the fight between mc and cove in mcs room and i wanted it to escalate more ngl just cuz i LIVE for angst! but if you want to get real hurt you should choose baxter. this playlist focuses more on the last step of his dlc and its full of taylor swift songs.

honestly this playlist is catered more to his vibes, his character (i listen to this playlist and i imagine edits of him lol) but i guess some songs are related to his story/lore? i made this waaay before 5 years after baxter ward and when the baxter dlc didn’t exist yet and we all just knew him to be as the new neighbor in sunset bird but people like it i guess so here it is xD

anyway thats all for OL:BA series! GB Patch is cooking up Our Life Now & Forever and it’s not released yet! just on demo on steam and itch! i already have a playlist for it but so far i have only made Qiu Lin (one of the leads of the game) i also have a privated filo inspired playlist for baxter if you want to listen to it let me know so i can put it up in public!

halo halo this might be out of blue but may i ask how’d you fall in love w Baxter? I wanna hear the story of like how you started to like him if you don’t mind sharing . tysm!!and i love all your artworks!!!!

AGHHHHHHH i was about to go to sleep but healty schedules are overrated. Take a sit cuz this is gonna be LONG bc i dont know how to get to the point (jump right to the end to get the 3 lines resume lmao)

if you ask me why i like right now: he's a dramatic loser. But that was when i finally understood his character! you wouldn't be surprised if tell you that i'm an idiot right? i'm super slow to read between lines and understand people, that applies to fictional characters too lmao (+add that english isn't my first language) So! at first i didn't actually understood what was going on with -well- anything :D.

Took me a few playthroughs to actually understand the game in general, i started to play before step 4 was out so all i could do was play and replay different ways to fall in love with Cove (starting to crush at step3 was my fav) but tbh he was never my *type*, Derek was interesting but just bc he like us by default. Even after playing his dlc i felt like he was just a really good friend (which was kinda weird bc to this point i've just played his romantic route). So, what's different with Baxter?

To begin with! he's... he's....... huhh my first impression wasn't actually strong tbh, i was like "huh new guy to date yay". I didn't actually understood his character the first few playthroughs ngl. I started in fond ofc to get into the dlc but *I* was pretty indifferent, probably in Drinks where we finally see Morning Baxter was that i said "oh shit he's cute" and cuteness+gapmoe is enough to make me fall for any character tbh.

But! that was not enough to provoke a brainrot like this right? i'm the "Oh i love this *forgets about in a week*" type. What sealed the deal (badum tss) was probably bc of the fandom? Once i was done replaying the dlc 5 times in a row i went straight to tumblr to feed of headcanons, fanarts and fanfics. My favorite way to understand a character is thru the fandom tbh, my favs are the long aa essays talking about a character personality.

Long story short, he was dramatic troubled flirty gap-moe guy (my fictional type, coincidentally) with an excellent storyline. I still wasn't 100% into him but he was top1 romatic choice for me (sorry Cove and Derek, love ya but platonically), so i made 2 fanarts for his dlc in may and let the hype die... only for 6 months otherwise we wouldn't be here, would we?

AH-HA-HEM the day 28th of november, beginnings of summer, i went out in the morning to do some errands with my mom, we stopped to buy vegetables in our way home and she bought a small watermelon bc i love them. That same afternoon i was eating it and thought "watermelons are finally here, summer it's officially here!" and got struck with Olba memories like a sleeper agent. (made a minicomic abt that, that's why i have the exact date lol) SO i replayed the game again, reading everything again, and oh boy i finally understood so many things, one of those things was Baxter himself!

A lot of stuff made sense once i actually took the time to comprehend his character with the information i gained out of the game (mainly all the asks ppl sent to gb). Add the way that i always played like *me* on my first playthroughs of anything and then you'll notice why he hit me so hard, it felt like i wasn't giving him enough credit before dasjkfas.

Tbh his dlc is my fav bc it has such a strong storyline, you get to know him and his insecurities thru all step 3, and have a lot of sweet moments too! (and that night goodbye?? omg it hits me so hard bc it's right after the ending song) and because step 4 it's right after you go with all the fresh memories of your summer together and seeing him so cold towards you it's so painful but also so funny because HA I CAN SEE THRU YOUR FACADE YOU STILL LIKE ME HAHAHA and i finally knew the perfect word for him: loser.

Anyways i also did a deep dive in the Olba and Baxter Ward tag here in tumblr and eat pretty much everything, also helped me to get a better grasp for all the little details i didn't noticed before bc haha i told you im an idiot?

sO yeah i made a few drawings of my Mc interacting with the characters, surprisingly it got a lot of attention from the fandom so i made a few more and when i noticed i was deep into the brainrot and i wasn't able to draw anything besides my Ruri and Baxter being cute lmao

Funfact. Ruri is a variation of Rui (duh) that i used in games when i didn't feel like i wanted to be called my name directly, now that she expropriated me of that name i use Ruru, i'm so creative right?

Long story short: it was mix of the game itself, fandom content and people actually liking my oc content. The fandom is super welcoming with everyone's oc's i love that akjdlfhask

In honor of the DLC coming out tomorrow I’ve replayed Error 143 to enjoy the adorable dork that is Micah Yujin. So let me gush about him will ya.

Micah Yujin is the main character and only love interest of the indie dating sim called Error 143 made by Jenny Vi Pham and her crew. The main premise is that you, the player, lost in a coding/hacking competition to your rival (Micah) and you as the sane level headed person as you are decided to troll him by hacking his computer and leaving a note “Ha, whose the better hacker now”. In response Micah hacks you back and puts you in his not discord server that he made and from then on comedy ensues.

The gameplay is pretty straightforward, it’s like every other dating sim. There’s the occasional hacking minigame that is just hangman which is neat, but the whole design of the whole game is so cool. I love pixel art and not discord looks fantastic with it. I also find it elegant that the parts without voice acting look like chat conversations, and the conversations with voice acting to be video calls is fucking great!

Also his voice actor goes hard!!! Corey Wilder is a talented va and I wish nothing but the best for them!^^

Micah himself is a funny playful cheeky guy with a shit eating grin on his face. His banter with the player is honestly hilarious and wholesome at times. He doesn’t hide the fact that he thinks you’re hot and he starts being flirty around day one or two. Him and the player have some good chemistry and they really match each other’s vibe. (Oh yeah forgot to mention but the player character actually have a personality in this game. They’re not a fully fleshed out character but it’s more than what the player character gets in these games. The only other time I can think something similar happened was in The Arcana [also a great dating sim I do recommend that])

The story spans out 5 days (well, 4 actually cuz day 4 is pretty short). In those 5 days the player and Micah get to know each other pretty quickly and it’s pretty obvious you both really like each other. And Micah puts his money where his mouth is because on day 5 he makes your dream first date come true. I find that so wholesome and sweet like on my first playthrough my first thought ‘I wanna hug him’ and ‘AAAAAAAAAA!!!!!’ (And that’s just one of the sweetest things he does in game, there’s like two other one which I both adore a ton.)

But I couldn’t because the game ended! 🥲🥲🥲🥲 (Thankfully the dlc is coming and will probably give me that option and I honestly cannot wait!^^) It is a short game but it’s definitely one of the best ones out there!

I also remember when this game first came out it got really popular in just a few short days. And I also cannot forget how in just one night a bunch of twitter ghouls jumped on the creator and accused her of fetishizing black men, hiring a va who voiced in a pe** game and how her writing is actually very racist because….. she shared some old concept ideas for Micah’s parents that are not even canon. Back then I was pretty scared about those accusations because I myself am not white and thought “oh fuck what if actual black people found something actually problematic that I’ve missed”. In reality what actually happened was a bunch of racists didn’t like that there was a dating sim out there with the main love interest being a half Korean half African American. And they hurled shit on both Jenny and Corey. I even saw people whom I used to follow take those accusations seriously and write it of as “ah even when we get a dating sim with a black love interest there’s always a catch”. (I was honestly baffled by them cuz, ‘wha- you can’t be serious! There’s gotta be something more to this’.) Thankfully Jenny managed to resolve that drama in the end by explaining everything in a tweet longer? (idk the exact name of it but you know what that is) and addressing every main accusation while also addressing how the harassment has affected her. I’m honestly proud how she managed to still write on Twitter where most would’ve gone silent to take a break from that bullshit. But she and Corey shouldn’t have been subjected to that kind of harassment in the first fucking place.

Still, I’m so happy that things are better now. I don’t have Twitter anymore (and I’ve been much happier since) so I don’t know if anything similar happened since then (hopefully not).

Amidst all that bullshit tho there were some people who gave genuine constructive criticism, one I can remember is about Micah’s inconsistent hair texture. Since there are a lot of artists in the team they all drew his hair a little differently every time. Jenny responded to that critique apologizing and doing some research before deciding what Micah’s hair type is gonna be. Ever since then his hair has been consistent in official arts. The assets in game hadn’t been switched out but by the sneak peeks she posted on Instagram, it looks like they’re gonna be finally.

(Ok I originally wanted to write down his hair type but I’m actually not sure what she said cuz I forgor but comparing his hair to pictures on google, seems to his hair is either 4B, 4C or a mix between those two. I’m sorry I don’t remember 🥲)

My apologies for the detour there. My final thoughts about the game though is that it’s amazing, fun and I adore Micah a lot! If you like dating sims, fun and wholesome cheesy romance then I can recommend it to you wholeheartedly!^^

So, I've officially missed a day... Waaaah... sad face and such. Man. I'm really mad at myself for this. But just because I'm done with my series. So let's get to business.

So I've decided to do another DLC character's franchise, Arms. I really liked that game and it's really good soundtrack. Like, that soundtrack is just, Vibes. Just good vibes. I was happy we got Minmin just cuz we got Arms music, then, my favorite song wasn't in it. But I can't complain.

Minmin, for those don't know, was decided in what Arms called a Party Crash. Functionally, it's a Splatfest like Splatoon. You get two choices and fight for yours. After a series of battles where all my favorites lost in the first round... because I clearly have bad taste. The two finalists were Minmin and Ninjara... and THANK GOD we didn't get Ninjara. He's my least favorite in the game to fight against. His gimmick is that when he blocks an attack instead of going into block stun he teleports, this often gives him free counterattacks. So I hate him. But as a result he's main character who get's requested. Which is a shame because so many Arms characters are so much more original than him. Speaking of it's time we show who I choose.

I choose the character who is the closest Arms has to a villain. Meet Dr. Coyle, which is such a good name all things considered. So in game her gimmick is that instead of jumping she flies, and in addition to blocking she turns invisible, and finally when she fully charges she summons a third arm from her right shoulder. Naturally, not all of her gimmicks can be implemented, because a character who turns invisible when they shield would be infuriating.

For her Neutral B she fires a projectile out of her Lockjaw arms. Reminiscent of how she functions in her boss fight where it feels like she can do it anytime she wants.

For her Up B, she flies like she does in the game. I think this flight would have similar but not identical mechanics to Rob's. Now, in Arms she can block in mid air, but that would be infuriating in this style of game.

Her Side B unfortunately has to be Identical to Minmin's. because of how they made Minmin play they've kinda forced all arms characters to play somewhat similarly to her.

For her down B, you'd think I'd say it should be the arm switch but because the Lockjaw arm is special to Dr. Coyle I've decided she should switch off it for this game. For this reason the move she performs here will instead be her heating up her arms and they temporarily move faster. I'll admit i don't have a great idea for this one.

Dr. Coyle would be a very great character to add from Arms for a very oddly specific reason. She'd be the first Female Villain character and the first Fighting Game villain too. I thought about Mechanica which would be the first female heavy character but I chose Coyle because she's more interesting.

So I'm sticking to my guns and paying attention to how THEY met and got together,,, to which any 'o ya'll who are interested hmu or spam my inbox so I can get into detail, and no the AU I now scrapped no longer applies anymore so forget about shit ass childhood, scummy step family and killer sister... Well I'mean Koh still has a shit ass dad but this ain't about him so- Oh wait nvm, people never gave a shit before so why would they n o w )

Jumin bad ending 2 but jumin suddenly becomes a black tom cat and now mc has to take care of him cuz he is a fucking cat now. How would she cope with it. Would it be her redemption arc (cuz jumin be2 mc is not a good person to say the least) how would ELLY react to it, how would rfa react to it. Would they help mc in taking care of kitty jumin. Will jumin scratch Seven and then get his nails trimmed off as a punishment for scratching seven

I'll be completely honest and say that I am not all that knowledgeable on the full nuance of Jumin's 2 bad ending. And there is a lot of nuance to it. So, I don't think I can write up a full scenario with this promt and give it justice, but I am interested to talk about it!

I'd say Jumin's 2 bad ending is one of the most complex we have in the game. There's a reason why we have an entire dlc dedicated to exploring it in more depth (aside from the obvious profit Cheritz saw in it, since it's definitely one of, if not the most popular bad ending in the whole game). I never actually got it for myself 'cause it personally makes me uncomfortable, but I did play through the dlc for it, as there is some very interesting content related to Jumin's childhood in there that caught my eye.

That said, I'd honestly feel very bad for Jumin in this sort of situation. His 2 bad ending is about control, but not in a way that seems to be widely accepted by the fandom. It is a common portrayal and misconception that Jumin is the one in control of MC in that ending. Telling them what to wear, how to walk, where to be, placing tracking gadgets on them, etc. But, a lot of folks seem to forget that it is, in fact, MC who has actively encouraged and nudged Jumin into that direction. (Ignore my sloppy highlighting lol)

In fact, I'd say it's the MC who has all the control and power in this situation. Jumin is simply following what they desire of him to please them. He won't do anything that they actually don't want him to do. We don't see any hints of him actively wanting or doing anything of the sort. So, no, Jumin won't lock you up Toma style (Amnesia: Memories players all shuddered at this mention for sure lmao). It's actually a very common mischaracterization of Jumin up until this day. MC of the 2 bad ending wants to be treated in such a way, and Jumin is in no way forcing anything on them. It's entirely consensual between the two. Now, does it take away the absolute nuclear toxicity of this kind of relationship? Certainly not. But, it's a bad ending for a reason, as I already stated.

In fact, we actually see that power dynamic between them at full play during the dlc. I think it's neat that they directly show you that, no, Jumin is actually very respectful of your choices, and you are the bad guy here. Which is exactly the case. It could be argued that, with the dlc, there is room for improvement in this relationship, and it might turn out good for them, but... well, as I repeat, it's a bad ending for a reason.

So, keeping all of that in mind, if Jumin suddenly found himself turned into a cat without any warning? I'd say it'll be all about control. Yet again. Now that he's a small helpless animal, MC holds his entire life in their hands. Literally. Now, it's definitely not as macabre as I made it sound, as I do not believe that this MC would ever actively harm Jumin. It's a bit more complicated than that. But, these shared feelings of possessiveness and a desire for control manifest themselves in some very unhealthy habits between the two.

Maybe MC will keep him for themselves. Maybe they won't let anyone else touch him. Maybe they'll play a little game of cat and mouse, where Jumin will have to chase them around in order to get some of their attention. Sure, it's consensual, but it is still rather dubious and definitely not healthy in any way. I don't think him turning into a cat would push MC to reevaluate their actions, unfortunately. I think it will only encourage them to straighten their invisible hold on Jumin even further. It is far too exhilarating to have that much control over someone, and that's exactly what 2 bad ending is about.

Right so hi.

So I just want to share my first gameplay experience of Our Life: Beginnings and Always!

My friend introduced me to this game and I started playing it with the knowledge that it is a cute, coming of age visual novel that is very customizable and that the outcomes are based on the decisions you make.

So yeah, I was interested cuz I was told I get to play from being a child to an adult. Fast forward, I finally installed the game and played it.

I named my character, Lhianne Autumns and since this is my first playthrough, I wanted to go through it blindly and pick the decisions closest to what I would do irl. So yeah, kinda like a self-insert (lol)

On Step 1, I was nice to Cove since I wanted to be friends and wanted to know him better. I kept the interest and comfort at Fond and Relaxed.

My fave part is probably the firefly scene, it's so cute and wholesome.

Step 2 was the start of me actually liking Cove. I still kept the same levels of interest and comfort though because I wanna be close friends with him first.

It was all good until I got to the scene where he snuck out to MCs room and it kinda gave me the flutters ><

I dunno, something about sneaking out late at night just to see MC and be with them is SO romantic for me, like???

And I knew I was done for when this scene happened and I was SWOONING like oh god this is so romantiiiic.

And from then on I started falling for this precious goofball as the rest of step 2 went by. I decided to switch up the interest to Crush on Step 3 because I can't help it when he says stuff like this 😭😭

LIKE HELLO MISTER? Please stop that. Please stop being so f*cking sweet and clingy my heart can't handle it!!!

Also, among my faves in Step 2 was the roadtrip and that anklet talk 🤣 After that I was wearing an anklet every chance I get and he gets so flustered about it, it's so adorable.

And theeeen Step 3 came and I really don't wanna confess yet. I was waiting for THE moment to confess and lo and behold it happened and it's just the sweetest scenes ever!!

As a fan of slow burn, it feels satisfying to take the childhood friends to lovers route and I was excited to start Step 4 AND OH MY GOD I WASN'T EXPECTING THIS PART

Like holy sh- he looks....so...hot 🙈🙈

Our ocean boy grew up so fine and my heart sommersaulted everytime he has a wardrobe change and aaaaaa i can't help but swoon

I mean, JUST LOOK AT HIM

And then the proposal happened and IT'S THE MOST ROMANTIC THING EVER!!!!!

And you know what?? I couldn't help but buy the Wedding DLC afterwards and IT WAS DEFINITELY WORTH IT. You get to decide on everything from color scheme, clothes, venue, ceremony, etc.! It is so much fun!

The outcome was so amazing and pretty! We had a beach wedding and the aquarium as the reception! Of course, blue is the main color cuz our boy loves the sea ❤️

Overall, I love this game SO much! I am on my second playthrough and I am playing with a new OC. I also got other DLCs as well and I am planning to get Baxter's soon!

This is one of those games that will hold a special place in my heart!

Maybe I could make some fanart soon for Lhianne and Cove~

Discontinued FNAF fics in the Cradle

Plenty of fic ideas I never continue on, cuz I lose the writing drive faster than drawing drive for sure. On top of chronic fatigue not ONLY makes it hard to draw due to physical limitations, but also causes brain fog to ruin ability to write and keep focus..

So I just wanted to list the ideas for concepts I had but never gonna complete so they ain't just left unknowns forgotten in dusty folders.

InBetween: Classic Y/N x DCA slash fic with the plot twist that Sun hates Y/N cuz he doesn't want any adult help in the daycare and Moon just naturally distrusts adults. But the addition of Eclipse as a security procedure of the two merged together during security incidents, has the new AI immediately crushing on Y/N and try force itself to be present just to spend time together and Y/N has to make Sun and Moon make peace with the new 'intruder' on their life.

I never got too far on this one cuz I'm not good at writing basic romance and got stuck how I wanted my Eclipse to be like in this fic. The basis idea for him was to be cheerful and calm, to easily handle high stress situations, but being a basically newborn AI also very upfront and easy going. "Hi, I just met you and I love you," type, who bond HARD to Y/N to a point that really upsets Sun and Moon cuz they don't like Y/N same way. Though I guess could have opened an interesting talk on the subject of consent between personalities sharing body and the development of sentience in AI, in a simple language it would be written in. But yeah, never though of enough plot to keep interest or bind random scenes together for a longer fic. Only wrote a couple of scene past the intro.

LEGION: Y/N in the pizzaplex, pretty neutral friendship to the animatronics but bonds with the many STAFF bots and wet floor sign bots to a point they start a revolt when feeling Y/N is disrespected by the administration and has to negotiate with the animatronics to have their terms met for themselves and Y/N to regain the peace of the plex.

Had plenty of scenes noted down, I just lost the writing drive as usual whenever it's not a short one-shot. But I did like the way I built up how Y/N bonded with the STAFF bots, giving them names and stickers to identify them beyond their numbers and classification. Repairing them and talking to them to let the simple bots feel like people showing different personalities although all mutes and very basic AI compared to the animatronics. Had the idea since Moondrop counts as security he's head of the security STAFF bots and gets very annoyed when they stop obeying him.

The Attendant's Pet: Meant as a more risque fic about an Urban Explorer Y/N exploring the abandoned pizzaplex and gets stuck in the daycare when Eclipse grabs them and keeps them in captivity for misplaced company.

Was started on shortly after we got the first teasers of the Ruin DLC and knew nothing of the Eclipse we saw presented, so it was really just a spur of the moment. Only got the first chapter down, which I'm still pretty proud of, but got stuck how to continue the story and where I could possibly take it with the idea of psychology of being stuck in captivity by a deranged AI in a broken down ruin they call home. Started based on vague ideas originally meant to be a short story but the intro and first chapter went too long for me to get away with keeping it simple and I just lost the drive. Especially now we know what actually goes down in the DLC.

Solstice: Already rambled about this one in the past. A post apocalyptic world where the animatronics get infected by a virus to make them start a genocide on humanity and leaves society broken. The titular character, Solstice, a cyborg built with parts from the Daycare Attendant just wanting to make friends despite the lack of trust in crazed and murderous animatronics

Had two chapters for this one and lots of ideas, but again, lost drive because I'm not good at long stories. I do adore the silliness I put into naming some of the human characters, the main character besides Solstice being the rough and tough explorer Chuck and his partner Norris. And the twins they adopted on the way, Steph and Vince, are some old OC's of mine repurposed for the story. The story would follow the group as they get Solstice to join them to travel the wasteland, using their new cyberpunk friend as a bodyguard while unlocking the secrets to what had the animatronics go nuts and why they still target humans without fully making them go extinct.

Anon Asks about Three Hopes Spoilers

If your ask isn’t here, it may be in the queue!

Apparently there is a 4th route once you beat the other three (heard this from others so take it with a grain of salt) so maybe the reason why all the routes end in a cliffhanger is to set up the ‘True ending’. The Sonic Adventure games are the best example of this I can think of and I hope that’s what they’re doing cause if the ending is locked behind dlc that’s scummy as hell

There’s been rumors of a true ending that unlocks after playing all routes. That’s the only thing that can save the game for me at this point. Not even Dimitri getting character assassinated the least is making want to buy it.

That's what I hope for, but I'm always skeptical. It would be really scummy if they just saved it for DLC.

*spoilers* so question, since you can avoid byleth and jeralt in the respective chapters and recruit them, I wonder if doing so in all three routes via ng+ will have a different outcome or not vs not saving byleth and jeralt and keeping them as enemies? maybe arval’s dialogue may switch around?

I don't know myself, but I think Jeralt surviving creates the alternate path in one of the chapters, cuz his death leads to Byleth's rampant hostility against Shez

...and I already have seen some Edelstans complain that Dimitri is an asshole because he just left Edelgard there in AG ending. Like wtf. Yes She has been controlled to do awful things but she started the war voluntarily. Is that too much to ask Dimitri reach his hands towards her? That's why I have problem with AG ending because it just like shift the responsibility. Still AG overall is much better than GW.

Can’t say I’m surprised. It’s weird that Edelgard apparently got reverted to “a child like mindset”, but at least he didn’t kill her? If I were them I’d look for the small victories.

I remember when Fates came out, people were so pissed that Revelations was locked behind DLC. I was okay with that, since Conquest and Birthright were at least complete games. 3 Hopes ending on cliffhangers, which will presumably be “fixed” with DLC, is inexcusable. I just wonder, due to the sheer popularity of Three Houses, if people will even care.

GOD, SAME! Like, people can complain all they want about Fates’ business model, but at least you’re paying for 3 separate campaigns, with uniqe maps and stories, and each route has an actual conclusion! Is everything solved? No, but at least the main conflict is over! Three Hopes just... what???

I know this will probably be a hot take idk. But by removing Byleth and whiteclouds/silver snow the game loses a lot depth and lore. You loose the ability to understand and bond with the green family. Which ruins the impact of siding with them or caring about Rhea at all. Rather you recruit Byleth or not has zero impact on the story. Which is such a weak willed move to do its like removing Corrin from Few1 because a vocal minority hated Corrin. Crests somehow end up even less important. 1/2

Its incredibly stupid marketing to as the game hypes up the Shez Byleth rivalry. Which in the end don’t matter because the lore doesn’t matter. What they did to Claude is also so strange. Its like they took offense to people saying “good guy” Claude wouldn’t fight Dimitri at grondors. By making him Pepsi Nitro Edelgard. At the cost of his own interesting under developed concept of using church for his own goals. But thats not even consistent thanks to Claudes SB actions. Also what happened 2/3

to three houses redemption themes with Rhea and Dimitri. Heck the revenge themes are even watered down. In a game were the empire and ancient evil king are called revenge. The only thing they did right is war is pointless and endless. But the war in three houses was only a handful of chapters. 3/3

All of this! Like, I get that it’s a spinoff musou and they don’t wanna tread the same water here, but not having any closure on the Nabateans when you bothered to show them in the first damn cutscene? Warping character motivations from the ground up? Hyping up a conflict that doesn’t even impact the main plot that much at all? I think it’s incredibly shoddy.

Do you think the FE fandom (specifically the 3H fandom) is going to enter the Voltron post-s8 phase after 3 hopes/nopes?

LMAOOOOO, I don’t think we’re in fear of going that far, but damn it’s gonna get annoying as hell

I like Fates and the way I feel about 3 Hopes is what they like to claim Fates is: good gameplay with bad story. I’m holding out for a Revelation route to fix this mess.

At the end of the day, it’s a non-canon musou that gets a lot of lore and story shit wrong, so if there’s a fix it route, all we can hope for is some kind of cheesy “friendship saves everyone” last hurrah

from what i have seen there seems to be three versions of Claude’s fate in SB, and the ending will be changed according to the fate of Claude.

1, Claude betrayed empire earlier, died on fighting the Empire, alliance revolts against empire in the ending txt.

2, Claude did not die and he betrayed empire in the ending text, fought empire with beleaguered Kingdom. The war seems have no end.

3, Claude stay allied with the empire, only Kingdom left for the empire to be taken, arguably the best ending for the empire.

do not know what are conditions though, maybe are related to the death/survival of Byleth & Arval.

Interesting. IMO, idk why they have different versions of the endings when they all end in a cliffhanger anyway. Guess they wanna give some semblance of “your actions matter”?

The is game has me on an emotional rollercoaster man. I just saw the King Awakens cutscene on YouTube. I don’t ship Dimidue, but think their platonic relationship is one of the best in the game. I know you don’t like Byleth, but I do and I ship Dimileth and fucking Shez is stealing their moments; that quip should have been the Felix/Byleth BFF moment. I need to get off the internet.

That cutscene is so cute!!! And yeah, Byleth’s not my favorite, but it’s mostly how the story goes around them rather than the character themself. I actually quite like the whole “emotionless merc grows feelings and attachment to their students” arc, and it’s a shame to see that none of it is here because of OC Infinite the Hedge-merc

Follow up to this post, where I started cataloging my Final Fantasy journey.

Crisis Core I watched a playthrough back in high school cuz I thought Zack was cool as shit and I loved the theme music, but I never actually played it. But since I finally played 7, I knew I had to follow it up with this, and I went with the Reunion remake since I heard the combat is a lot better. Which I guess it is? I can't compare it to the original since I never played it, but the combat here was real fun and snappy -- I spent hours just doing side missions. And of course the story was as good as I remember it. Only downside is Zack's new actor is nowhere near as good as his original, and that really brings it down a tad. But it still doesn't kick Zack out of my "Top 5 FF characters" list. Also, I always liked Genesis, which I guess a lot of people don't? But I think he's just so funny. Like he actually stops his mission to kill Hojo or whatever to info-dump Loveless lore on everyone in the room. Dude's so weird, I hope he's in the remake trilogy. I think a 8/10 is fair.

Final Fantasy IV Took me a bit to finish this one since stuff got in the way. Not really much to say about this one, though, I guess. The story was good, and some areas and events were cool (like the giant robot thing), with lots of characters who show up and do their thing then leave. Cecil is pretty cool, Kain sure is a guy, and I like Rydia a decent amount. Love how that dude Edge is just straight up called Edge though lmao -- I imagined him having a sort of Johnny Bravo/Might Guy voice, which really elevated his character in my head. But otherwise, the whole game was a pretty standard affair. I kinda thought the vehicle stuff was pretty interesting -- like how you had to use the hoverboat, to get to the ship, to get to the better ship, etc. That was neat in its own way. Fuck the final boss, though, that shit felt unfair. 6/10, I guess? Definitely the mainline FF I've been least into so far, but it's still nowhere a "bad" game.

Final Fantasy XII I heard this was one divisive, but I don't see how? Like, this was really good. I did hear the original release was pretty bad compared to the Zodiac version I was playing, which made me think...... Between 12's initial release, 14's initial release, and 15's initial release...is 16 the first mainline game in over a decade that came out completely fine without needing an overhauled re-release or oodles of DLC to smooth things over in some way?? (I haven't played 13 yet, so that may have been fine upon release.) Anyway, to speak of the game itself, the License Board and Gambit System was really interesting and I kinda hope they bring it back in some way in the future, cuz I love tedious grindy stuff like that where you slowly fill up an ability grid (reminded me of the Sphere Grid, kinda). And the story -- while sometimes feeling really overwhelming with the amount of terms and names I had to memorize -- was well structured and I like how everyone's stories wrapped up by the end. Vaan is truly not a protagonist though, is he? lol. If anything, Ashe was the main character of this story, which I did kinda fuck with, even if she's not one of my favorite characters from the game. Also, I loved how many areas and differing locales we went to on the journey. I wasn't expecting such an array of distinct and visually engaging locations. One thing, though...why did half the voice over audio sound like it was being recorded through a soup can? It was so weirdly mixed. Like, you get used to it, but what happened?? Anyway, as a FF14 fan I though it was neat to see where all the Ivalice inspiration came from, and overall the game was really enjoyable to play. I've definitely not scratched the surface when it comes to the optional content, like Espers or whatever, but idk if I'll ever have the time to complete all that anyway. But for the main game itself, definitely a solid 8/10. Maybe even an 8.5.

Not sure what to do next, maybe try V once it goes on sale. Or probably just jump into Remake and Rebirth.

Due to several sleeping errors, I forgor

My day was alright outside of my stomach waking me up after 3 hours of comfy sleep, and then me falling asleep for a little too long on the couch at work, which is why I don't think i'm gonna have a new kanji for today. I'll probably just practice some other vocabulary and keep hammering in the first half of my katakana

Like I'm always saying, I dont want to vent here but like, its part of my day ya know. And I'm not upset as I write this its just thoughts in my brain. Btw did you know that overexplaining yourself is an autistic trait? Anyway, I've been thinking about my brain and its problems because my partner has a new work friend who is also autistic, but her and I followed different paths. She seems to be on the Naruto Uzumaki grind of saying exactly what she means and is thinking at all times. The barrier between her and other people made her more forward and blunt, which is probably good. I however went the conflict avoidance route, where I got tired of trying to be understood so I've just spoken less and less over the years. I used to be very social but lately I'm going whole days saying almost nothing to anyone

Its largely because of the specific people I'm around every day, cuz my mom doesnt care about whatever the fuck I'm doing in Onimusha or Splatoon. I've learned what stuff people outside my fixations would be equipped to find interesting. My mom listens, but I dont want to waste her time or bug her while shes working with stuff that isn't relevant to her. And my brother is the most equipped to have conversations with but he's also on a different autism wavelength that seems to be becoming incompatible with mine. Like earlier today I said I was getting really tired of him and our friend being so fuckin negative about everything all the time and then like 2 minutes later he said I was a bitch for paying attention to what skills I have on in Monster Hunter. Something just ain't lining up in our conversations

BUT, thats all to say, my response to that comment wasnt to push the point further, instead I just stopped talking. Because I've learned that he in particular seems to have lost the ability to argue or discuss in good faith when it comes to specific topics. And because of that I sit there and filter everything I think about saying. I have a thought about something in the Splatoon DLC and before i say something I think "my brother doesnt like Splatoon anymore so at best he'll ignore me and at worst I'll get into an argument about whether or not skills are stupid"

But this learned silence has got my ass unsure how to speak in general, so idk how to make new friends or how to interact with old ones. Its quite the pickle oh yes

But all that shit aside Dungeon Meshi is amazing, the whole crew is great. I am concerned that I'm getting incorrect localizations on their names cuz i'm reading it on manga dex. So I've just been calling the hobbit Chalk. I'm on chapter 15 now I think. Kensuke is my MVP right now I love that little guy

And finally the moment youve been waiting for yes its true I only have 4 weapons left to go in Side Order. I was spoiled on the name of Eights pallette weapon and it didnt tell me anything but it made me want to get it as soon as possible to see what the fuck it is

Y'know, I'd not be against loading in a new run of Assassin's Creed Odyseey, but it just... On a story level, it bothers me on a lot of levels, even before getting to the DLC I refuse to acknowledge. Mostly because it wastes the greatest aspect of its own story - the fact that the Eagle Bearer is a victim of Sparta's way of life, and yet doesn't get to argue it.

Like, back when I played it, there was a moment where I got to have Alexios make a remark of Sparta that referred to Spartans as "them," and Myrienne despaired "why are you saying THEM?!" While I'm just over here like "...cuz the demands of Sparta have shattered my family and I really don't carry any love for the nation as a result." And that thread was one I was on board with exploring... But it's never a part of things again.

Also I swear, I have NO interest in calling Alkibiades an ally. Literally, all through that questline he'd been poined in, I wanted to find the poisoner to thank them and shake their hand, not cure him. Yes, the guy is a historical character, so he couldn't ACTUALLY die, but it was a choice to make him a major character in this game.

A choice that, considering this was a game released not just amid a series of sex pest scandals in general, but also in Ubisoft particularly... Not a good look.

Like I don't think Assassin's Creed Odyssey is a bad game, but it IS a game plagued by a lot of elements that make me... less than enthused to play it again.

And it's not QUITE the same with Valhalla, but it DOES still have its own frustrations that push me away, particularly with its enforcement of heteronormativity (cuz you can't convince me that Randvi isn't meant as the arm candy for male Eivor, considering the various male romance options are all played as flings, but SHE gets to be a lasting romance) or the way that the things patched in - the Isle of Sky and the Final Chapter, specifically - basically set about telling the player that the only version of events that matter are Ubisoft's, not the player's, that if you played Alexios or male Eivor, you have not played the way you're "supposed" to, and they're just going to disregard that in their content.

I ENJOY these games, but they make it clear that, even though I'm offered the chance to play in a way that reflects me, a queer man, in trying to actually DO that, I'm doing it wrong. I have that problem in BioWare games too, but at least BioWare doesn't totally discount my identity. Just mostly.

*sigh* I love the medium of video games. They do not love me.

For what had come of pesky demons altering time for personal interests, not even the likes of the Oracle Fish could have predicted a situation such as this. It starts with a temporal distortion recognized by Whis when he peered into the pocket dimension to check on his saiyan trainees. Not caught soon enough to prevent the outcome of change in time, however. Fortunately, it occurred in a place outside of the normal time and space and would have no direct effect on anything outside, but that did not repair the distortion around Goku and Vegeta once freed of the ethereal realm.

They had certainly become more powerful than before, but not with the divine energy they were to perfect. Something else got in the way. Some new, stranger form all together that aligned itself with their inherent beastly transformations. It’s impressive, the power overflowing from the two saiyans, but it’s wrong. Traces of the Supreme Kai of Time’s handiwork was also recognized prompting The Angel to investigate with her the reason for the distortion. It needed to be known what force of nature had the power to corrupt time itself if The Demoness and her lackeys were supposedly defeated already by The Supreme Kai of Time’s Champion?

Vegeta was taken with Whis to the Time Nest- more so to observe this transformation closely and to show how poorly Chronoa’s Time Patrol was at doing their job to allow this to happen- leaving you behind ultimately to babysit Goku just as carefully. Once Vegeta explained the other saiyan’s obnoxious behavior with yet another Goku who had shown up with another warrior, it was unanimous he stay put. The last thing needed was for an excitable Goku to break things further just to test the limits of his new form with yet another one.

So it’s just you and him. Goku and his aura burning in the air around his form. The Saiyan tested his own speed for a moment, red arms almost a blur as he threw his fists forward at nothing in particular. Then his long legs, kicking out directed higher than his head, behind him, and out in front of him matching the speed of his fists. It’s the last kick that holds your attention, the invisible force shaking the ground beneath you and creating a large wave across the lake water yards away from where you both stood. Beyond the lake, tree tops fell down like dominos as far as your eyes could see, perfectly cut through. It’s not rattling the very fabric of the universe as your battle once did, but...it’s impressive for power not of the divine ki. And for one not so far off its spectrum entirely. Curiosity reigns you in closer to him, inspecting.

“This is different. From your other forms, anyway.” You observe him with your arms held behind you, taking in the sight of expanded muscles and red fur that tore through the orange gi top, leaving nothing but its tattered remains tied around his waist with the rest of his clothing. If you didn’t know any better, you were certain you were seeing some variation of the super saiyan forms, but also the saiyans great ape transformation. “You’re not even a little tempted to test my strength?” He follows up with a soft tilt. You turn your back to him completely and give a disengaged shrug starting to walk off.

“Just standing there, you are burning through this new transformation already. You’re on borrowed time with that power.” You point out to him, casting a glance over your shoulder at him. “So again, no. I’m not tempted by a disappointing repeat performance.”

“Heh, I doubt that.” You hear the saiyan’s voice chuckle in your ear, halting you mid-step with wide eyes. Turning, you find him occupying the space beside you now and looking over to where he previously stood completely vacant of him. Impossible! There was no way this power was that fast you couldn’t detect it moving around you. Definitely...not impressive.

“What’s the matter? I didn’t surprise you, did I Lady (y/n)?”

With a narrowed gaze you turn back to him, meeting that arrogant leer of his once again accompanied by that smirk. “...Careful, saiyan. Don’t go being more trouble than you’re worth.” Goku laughs in response, making your brow twitch.

“I gotta admit, that’s not easy for me. But if my power is so bad, maybe you should destroy me.” Once more trying to tempt you, Goku leans down to your eye level, staring you down through his bangs. “If you can.”

You feel your glare hardened and jaw clench. When you opened your mouth again and sharply sucked in air ready to give this wretched, red thing a piece of your mind, everything that followed just blurred into a single, swift motion. But again, your battle was a brief one. Not because you had exhausted the saiyan of his power as you were expecting to, but because your tactics changed.
