Hello everyone and happy Monday to you all! Hope your week has started off okay, it’s time for a book haul! 😁 Even though I haven’t managed to get to Paula Hawkins’ second novel yet, I was intrigued by her third, A Slow Fire Burning. This follows a gruesome murder on a London houseboat and three different women who may have had reason to kill. I don’t think the second book needs a big introduction if you’ve followed me for a while 😂 I’m obsessed with King and a new novel from him is always cause for celebration. The character Billy Summers is a killer for hire but will only do the job if it’s a truly bad individual. There is one last hit he has to do before he can get out - what could go wrong? How about everything?! Finally, we have a much anticipated read for me, The Women Of Troy after I loved The Silence Of The Girls earlier this year. Ghosts in particular I’ve had my eye on for a while after reading some great reviews. I had never heard of The Office Of Historical Corrections, a short story collection but again, I’ve heard amazing things so I had to get it. Finally Bridget Jones Diary has recently been released in a lovely new 25th anniversary edition. I realised I didn’t have it on my favourites shelves so couldn’t resist it! It’s Monday fellow bibliophiles and it’s book haul day again!! 🥰 Today I’m sharing three special hardbacks I can’t wait to get to. I know there’s been mixed reviews on Rodham but my bestie @tarheelreader really enjoyed it and we have similar taste in books so I’m giving it a whirl. Then there’s The Shape Of Darkness by Laura Purcell. I’ve only read Bone China by this author before and I enjoyed it generally but I preferred one part of the storyline over another. I think I’m going to go back and read her first two books then head to this. Finally, we have Luckenbooth, a book I’ve been hearing so much about and is set in my hometown of Edinburgh.
