It’s a cold and lonely universe out there! Sort of. Luckily, the last living human has some company!
Red Dwarf AU! I started this about a month ago, because nothing says quarantine like waking up 3 million years into the future with only the hologram of your dead roommate, the ship’s computer (and his son), a malfunctioning android, and the humanoid descendant of your cat! But don’t worry, the Black Mesa Science Corp ship the Halvaris is still (mostly) functional!
Anyways, this was a surprise to literally no one who knows me. I feel like hlvrai and Red Dwarf have a similar sense of humour, so I highly recommend watching it. I’ll post some individuals with more details later. I may be a slow artist, but I have a number of things planned for this au, so be sure to check back!

(COPENHAGEN, Denmark) — Jan Egil Bakkedal had just prepared himself a sandwich when he heard a huge noise and realized that it was a landslide after which he ran out and filmed it from a nearby hill in Arctic Norway.
Bakkedal told The Associated Press on Thursday that he filmed Wednesday afternoon’s powerful landslide near the town of Alta that swept eight houses into the sea off northern Norway.

Bakkedal said he “ran for my life” into surrounding hills, and saw that one of the houses — which he owns — was washed away in the landslide.
Local police told Norwegian news agency NTB that the landslide was between 650 meters and 800 meters (2,145-2,640 feet) wide and up to 40 meters (132 feet) high.
Police spokesman Torfinn Halvari said a car was swept away in the landslide, but no one was injured. A dog that ended up in the sea was able to swim back to land and is safe, he said.
Several minor landslides followed, and nearby houses were temporarily evacuated.
The far end of the cape where the landslide occurred was Thursday closed off with Alta mayor Monica Nielsen saying that “the extent of the damage is considerable, and there’s a lot of debris.” Work was underway to ensure that the rubble doesn’t end up in shipping lanes.

Hlvrai Red Dwarf AU
Gordon - The Human
After joining the Black Mesa science and research ship the Halvaris six months ago, theoretical physicist Gordon Freeman has hopes for a steady career. Unfortunately things go to smeg when it's discovered he smuggled a pregnant cat on board. Opting to go into stasis without pay rather than give up the cat, Gordon emerges three million years later to find the crew wiped out and the Halvaris a long way from home.
Bubby - The Hologram
Brought back to keep Gordon sane, Dr Bubby is living their death as a soft-light hologram, unable to touch and interact with the physical world. Bubby was Gordon's former roommate- after complaining about every roommate before, Black Mesa eventually refused to reassign them. Bubby was incredibly smart but bad behaviour prevented them from rising in the ranks. Unlike the cowardly Rimmer, Bubby will run head first into danger and pick fights. However, being a hologram, can do nothing about it, often just causing trouble for Gordon.
Coomer- The Android
Found by Gordon and the crew tending to a team of long dead scientists, Coomer is learning to break his programming. Coomer was designed to handle all the tasks deemed too dangerous for humans. The scientists rather cruelly glued a wig and moustache to the android as a joke, but Coomer has become quite fond of the look and takes great care to insure it stays stuck. Unfortunately since starting to break his programming it seems Bubby doesn’t like him very much.
