I think my fav piece of world-building information is definitely the different types of magic that there is. There are ritualistic things like necromancy, or elemental magic, etc. Just a lot of different types of magic in this world- and no one is allowed to use it, even if they can! [That's a whole other thing, as well- some people are born with the innate ability to use magic. Some people have to learn it with hours of training. Others can't use it at all.]

PEPPER - What inspired this world?

Definitely DnD... Specifically Baldur's Gate 3. 😊 But I also got heavily inspired by Divinity Original Sin 2. That's where I got the inspiration to use 'magisters' and being sent off to a prison for using magic lol [Also, I based Hal off of my character while playing the game.] Other than these games, the other inspiration I have is just my love for dark-fantasy games and writing in general.

Delphene had been awake for a while, looking at the patch of dark grey morning sky through the window of their room. It felt both absurd and marvellous to sleep in such a luxurious bed after so many nights on the road or at camp. They had arrived three days ago in Baldur’s Gate. Gale had already planned to stay at one of the best inns of the city. Delphene had been well known in the district he was staying so they all decided to rent a room there. It was more practical anyway. Lae’zel had initially wanted to stay outside of the city, but Delphene managed to convince her it was unnecessary. The name Goldshaper inspired respect round these parts of town and no one would cause problems to her Githyanki companion if Delphene was there as well. She also knew that inn well. It was one of their favourites with Hanka. Being back home had induced its fair share of memories. The last time she had been here was the day she left on the road.

Yesterday, as they were searching for a lead about a group of brutes the innkeeper had trouble with, and who could have precious information they needed, Delphene saw her. The city was so massive, and Delphene had not anticipated crossing Hanka’s path. Nor did she planned to visit her family during her stay in the city. Thankfully, the other dwarf had not sighted her, and it was better that way. Since that moment though, memories of the past assailed her. There was a strange pressure inside her chest, causing her to sigh audibly in her attempts to get rid of it.

- Did I perform so badly last night? He asked, his voice gruff from sleep and teasing. She did not bite back and mindlessly patted the hand he tucked around her waist, still looking at the clouds. An ideal day to stay inside, just like Wyll had planned for them. Bored of me already?

- Of course not. You know the sex was good. It always is.

And it truly had been good. So much so he had managed to make her forget about everything else but him and the pleasure he gave her for a blissful moment. She had fast collapsed on his chest after that. But her ruminations treacherously returned in her sleep. Memories of more joyous times painted themselves one after the other behind her eyelids. Memories of her life with Hanka. Lazy mornings exploring each other’s bodies in that very same inn. Lunches at the guild, talking about their latter projects. Afternoons perusing the markets within and outside the Gate hand in hand. Evenings in the entertainment district, attending the last play imagined by the newest company installed in the city.

- Delphene, are you sure you're alright?

She was so lost within herself, reviving those memories again while awake that she did not answer. Was it worth it? Abandoning everything and everyone she had ever known for a land she had never ever set foot on. A land her dear grandmother could barely remember on a good day? But she was too far gone now, she could not turn back... And even if the entire abduction incident had been most inconvenient, she had found companionship. She was not alone on the road anymore. And there was Wyll. She jerked her head to look at him. He was lying on side, propped up on his elbow, the hand supporting his head masking the sending stone replacing the eye he lost so long ago. He was observing her, not as close as he typically was while lying next to her. He was concerned.

- Are you thinking about Hanka?

He knew about her, naturally. After the first dreams, they had started to gather and talk the morning following the tadpoles’ induced dreams. Astarion, Lae’zel and Shadowheart absolutely hated this, but Halsin thought it was important to examine how they were feeling physically. It was best to try to understand all those promises of powers and if it manifested to them in the same fleshly sheath. Delphene eventually told the group that her tadpole took the form of her ex-fiancée. She gave her name to Wyll later. Both women reached a point in their relationship where disagreements became the norm. Hanka broke up with her; Delphene embarked on her quest. She did not share much else, and he did not ask questions. Just like she did not ask him questions about Mizora. Delphene knew she was Wyll’s devilish patron, that she was gorgeous and that Wyll wanted to break the pact he made with her above else. That was enough for both of them. Yet, Delphene found herself wanting to open up to him today. After all, did she not consider Wyll as a friend before anything else? She looked towards the window of their rented room again. The clouds looked heavy. It was going to rain soon.

- I dreamed about her... memories, not the tadpole. I think… I saw her? When we investigated around the guild? She has longer hair now...

Hanka had been with someone else too. Delphene only saw the back of another shapely dwarf with tanned skin and long braided golden hair. Her ex-fiancée was smiling. She was radiant. Did Hanka ever smile like that when they were together? She was brought back to the present by Wyll tracing patterns on her stomach.

- Wanna reach out to her while we're here? Maybe you won't have this occasion before long.

She was surprised to see him so serious. No playful display of jealousy like he usually did when she was flirting the rest of their group. Or when she charmed information from strangers they met on the road

 - I'd never have thought you'd even propose this.

- Oh, believe me, chief, it's taking me tremendous efforts not to show it, but I'm green with envy. He laughed, dismissive, but she could see behind this facade. She tossed on their bed to face him and looked him in the eyes. Her arm reached out to him, her hand cupping the side of his face and the rough pad of her thumb tracing the deep scar on his chin. He covered it with his own and heard his voice resonating within her brain, as if he did not dare to say his next words out loud. I know she meant a lot to you. If you need closure, I’m no one to deny it to you. Besides, we never really defined what this was, did we?

Wyll was always so damn considerate. How was it possible not to love him? He was making it downright impossible for her. She was tired of pretending to herself she did not love him. She felt the usual chill creeping up her spine, which meant the disapprobation of her patron, but right then Wyll and the bond they shared were all that mattered. She knew she was making it worse, that it was dangerous to have something serious given her need for revenge, but she gave in for what she longed for. She needed to, she needed him. She drew his face a little bit closer, so they could really look into each other’s eyes. She truly was thankful she found him amidst this chaos.

- No need, she thought towards him not wanting to break this moment with inadequate words. That page had been long turned… I have other priorities now. I have you.

She could see the dilatation of his good eye’s pupil as Wyll’s gaze turned more even intense. Her fingers were so warm trapped between his cheek and his hand. Delphene shifted to bring her face closer. Her eyes dropped to his lips, lingering there for a few seconds. When she looked in the eyes of her companion once more, she noticed Wyll’s attention was still on her lips. The room was silent except for the rain finally falling and drumming against the window. She narrowed the gap between them, before he wanted to talk about what they just said to each other in the confine of their minds. Her tongue licked the corner of his mouth to provoke him into action. She knew him by heart. He pulled himself up and pushed her into the mattress before hovering over her. His eye travelled the length of her entire body before he plunged to claim her lower lip, tugging and throwing the covers at the end of the bed. When he started to kiss her neck, she could not help herself and taunted him, relieved that the gravity of their past moment had subsided.

- Not so unsure about your performance issues now, huh? Need I remind you that I was promised an entire day of debauchery, not just one night, no matter how passionate?

The sudden feeling of his callused fingers on her took her by surprise and Delphene moaned loudly, making Wyll smile. She allowed him that victory, focusing on her desire, as her hands enthusiastically gripped the bedsheets.

- As my chief commands, he said before descending towards her chest. When he reached her navel, he savoured one last wicked look at her. Good thing the weather is on my side, then. No good reasons to leave our room.

All thoughts of her former life in Baldur’s Gate disappeared as Wyll made a cleverer use of his tongue.

... I just went through and counted how many different storylines and OCs I have, either via writing or RP, and... *sigh* I have too many.

With my novel that I’m working on: main characters are Athenos and Mari. Then there’s side characters I’m still hashing out.

Then there’s Sunrise Omega, which I was intending to do in comic format, but who knows if/when that will ever happen. That’s got six main characters, but so far I’ve only ever drawn two: Tomorrow, and Apollo.

THEN we get into video game MCs. Dragon Age has Kesell Surana and Ithriel Lavellan, though I’ve only drawn Kes. Baldur’s Gate 3 has Tannivh. Destiny 2 has Hal.

Oh god, the Kesell picture is so old and looks so bad. I really need to redo that one so bad.

AND THEN we get into RP, which has a split. First is my freeform RP stuff, where me and my friend get to make up the setting, rules, and everything. You want to know how many OCs I have here? 15, and I’m probably forgetting someone. And those have separate universes and timelines. Shit, technically I have more than that because some characters exist in a multiverse and so there are two versions of them.

So many uncolored sketches... and this is only the characters I have pictures for.

Then, there’s my tabletop stuff, where I play in a World of Darkness mini-game (it’s just me and a friend -- the other players fell through). This is where shit gets confusing because they’re all ports of my original characters. Luckily, not everyone ports well, so there aren’t as many. 10, not counting any little NPCs created for stuff.

The only ones I’ve drawn for WoD. Kym is the only pictured repeat, since he does look different between the two. He’s still a dour bastard of a vampire in both.

And lastly, there’s my straggler from a world I had in my head back when I was in school for game dev stuff (before I decided maybe I didn’t want to make video games), Asir.

That’s 37-ish. ... I have too many characters, and my brain keeps thinking up more.

This game isn't difficult in any way, but that's kind of the point. Those who enjoy narratives may like this one. However, there whole game depends on its characters resonating with the player. However, most people don't seem to mind. It's a freemium game, but this one might actually be one of the better ones. However, the mechanics are a vastly simplified series of taps and swipes along with a card collecting mechanic for special moves. In terms of expectation versus reality, this game is a bit of a disappointment for hardcore fighting game fans. However, it should be relatively decent for the casual gamer crowd.
