Tell me about your dragons
OH BOY
Okay, first I’ll apologize for any lack of organization that results from my rambling.
To start I’ll link you to my A-Z post on dragons here. There’s more stuff I need to add to it but I think it covers the basics. I don’t remember what I wrote so some of this may be repeat.
Most of the dragons in RSverse are small, as in, not what most people expect when they think of dragons. They’re also not inherently aggressive, ferocious, etc., instead they’re pretty chill. Of course they all have different personalities but the little ones tend to be cheekier and sassier – also depends on their relationship with their rider, tamer, handler, companion. Dragons generally get along with people and in some places they’re fairly integrated into human society.
I don’t have names for all the different species, but I’m currently at a part in RS1 where we see dune dragons. Those are rugged with sacs that store water from the oases, and they burrow in the sand. They’re mainly used by people to travel across the deserts in N’viria & Somari.
Throughout Valen there are dragon sanctuaries where they rehabilitate dragons that have been rescued from poachers.
North Valen’s mountainous regions are known as home to the big dragons that most people think of. They moved there after a large population was killed by the Soulton army of Edon, for their bones and teeth and scales (to make coins, armor, weapons, etc.). These dragons are probably the only ones that are generally isolated from people, although they will make appearances across the sky now and then, but that’s becoming rarer.
The pet dragons in Edon are always small, like the size of dogs, and some consider them pests. Not many people have them since they’re very expensive and illegal (stolen from Valen).
Umm what else?? Oh, some of my favourite dragons are the tiny ones that live in the trees of Eklesia. They mostly chill in the shade and eat fruit.
Hm… you already know Little Scalba. She’s pocket-sized, a deep brownish-red colour, and has large black eyes. She lives in Garrin’s bookcases and enjoys rolling around in coins, mostly because of the sound.Rasha has a small dragon with stumpy legs, she named Pudding. Pudding often reminds Rasha when it’s time to go home because she gets carried away playing outside or practising her magic. Rasha and Pudding both like sweets and corn cakes. In RS2, Mira’s dragon companion is an opalite dragon named Delphene. Delphene hatched from one of the eggs that is rescued by Alessendra in RS1. She has light blue iridescent scales that she can darken to blend into the night, and she loves to eat apples and muffins.

Baldur's Gate Ⅲ ◈ Delphene Goldshaper
▹They told her Wyll removed the mask from her face right after Karlach managed to knock her out with a strong hit behind her skull. All Delphene could merely remember while waking up was placing the damn thing on her face, then the hag's voice even though not her words and an all-consuming anger. Now all she was left with was a terrible headache, a deep sense of shame and the familiar feeling of dampness within her spine. The ominous sign of her patron's unwillingness to share their toy. Karlach joked that for someone so little she put up a hell of a fight, but Delphene saw the panic in Gale's eyes as well as in Wyll's good one. Had she been that close to the brink of madness? She muttered a weak apology, looking down at the muck, defeated. The Blade of Frontiers' outstretched his hand to her with a smile. "Get up, chief. We'll have time for apologies later. I reckon we have a hag to kill." He was right, but as she let him haul her up, she could feel tendrils of evaporating energy enveloping the sleeve of his coat. If she focused enough, she could make out the faint crackling distinctive of her eldritch blast fading into the air.

Baldur's Gate ɪɪɪ ◈ Delphene Goldshaper & her Guardian in the form of her ex-fiancée Hanka Hammerfall
▹"She looked as pretty in the dream as the day I left her. If I came back home, would she take me back again? Is Baldur's Gate the same for her if I am not here? I need to resist. This cannot be her. This cannot be her. This cannot be her. This cannot be her. This cannot be her." ⌁ Delphene's journal, extract.

Baldur's Gate Ⅲ ◈ Delphene Goldshaper
Centuries ago, at the dawn of the Present Age, way before the Spellplague splintered the Vilhon Reach, the Goldshaper clan was one of the most illustrious jewellery houses of Fearûn. Then the Goblins came and the family fled. One branch escaped west for the Sword Coast and established in Baldur's Gate. Many moons later, the name Goldshaper doesn't possess the same importance in the realm and the dwindling relatives had to tie into other houses to remain. However, the Goldshaper never abandoned their craft. The current matriarch, 130-year-old Bellenys Goldshaper, made sure to keep the legend of her family alive as well as the perpetuation of the ancient beliefs. The jewellery workshop now ran by Ermand Goldshaper, Bellenys' eldest child, and his wife Maevna secures a very good reputation among Baldurians for producing jewels of fine quality. Her daughter, Nathlyn, distanced herself from her overbearing mother much to Bellenys chagrin. She quickly became the family’s disappointment after marrying Inarieth, an elf from the lower city, and pursuing another craft. Inarieth and Nathlyn are the current owners of a boutique specialised in selling tailored garments and adopted Germin as a baby. Bellenys then turned most of her attention towards Delphene, who she saw as the legitimate heir of the house. She lulled her grandchild to sleep with marvellous tales of a time no one knew, of an uprooting none of them went through. The more Delphene grew older, the more Bellenys got ill and the more Delphene's obsession with her family's legacy evolved into all-consuming obsession to the point of endangering her quiet life in Baldur's Gate.
slightly better quality here (you can also click on the gif i guess)

I've been so lucky to be able to commission @plastic-pipes for this marvelous piece for Delphene, my Baldur’s Gate 3 OC. It was such a pleasure working with her and her art is amazing and really commission her when it’s next open if you can or go check her work. Here’s her twitter and her patreon. Thank you so much again for this Pipes, I cannot stop looking at my girl.

Hope Larian included a way to change appearance during the game like when we're in Baldur's Gate because Delphene is definitely growing her beard back at some point in time

New Delphene in game lore below regarding companions (still during act 1), before the goblin camp
she spent one night with lae'zel (two tops no bottoms here) and broke things off after seeing how intense lae'zel was (her breakup with hanka is still fresh in her mind at this point, she just wants to have fun and the entire "i'll take what's mine" is scary to her)
she let astarion feed on her and teased him about another go, but she won't let it happen again
she's into wyll the most physically (even more so after mizora's trick suprisingly), but really she'd be happy to bunk all of her companions (an orgy would be her most favoured way of doing it)
she loves karlach's personality
she understands her companions are hiding her their motives and problems, but their shared condition makes her willing to trust them with her life
all in all she's afraid she's starting to care way too much about this disastrous band of misfits

I think it might really be the dancing that makes Delphene goes "oh shit oh fuck" and have start to fall in love with Wyll because it's bringing her back to simpler times before she left the city and she loves the arts, she loved watching dancers in the streets, she danced often with Hanka. And she had accepted to lose this by leaving and even more so by making a pact with her patron. And here comes that silly man, so stupidely pretty and stupidely good and genuine and he's giving her a piece of him but more than that he's also giving her back a piece of herself without even meaning to
