Dram Night What an opportunity Trying three different drama with different backgrounds let alone their distinctive noses & palettes. The winner is Akashi and other two were winners too in their own rights. With a little experience and knowledge, I couldn’t comprehend all the flavors that 18yr Hakushu offered. Ao had so far mixed reviews but I liked it. Japanese really mastered the way of blending, maybe I should say Suntory. Akashi brought delightful surprises with mild buttery, molasses flavor with Bourbon sweetness. ✅Did you know that the Hakushu Distillery is located at a high elevation - 700 meters above sea level. (Scotland's highest distilleries are Dalwhinnie and Braeval, both about 355 meters.)As Hakushu is at a very high elevation, the whisky ages more slowly with less wood influence on the spirit. #sundayfunday and do you #Hakushu my fellow #japanesewhisky lovers. I said it before and I will say it again in my opinion #hakushuwhisky is the unsung hero of the line up from #suntorywhisky. The siblings #yamazaki and #Hibiki have done such a great job marketing that when and if you see #hakushu the pricing is not as inflated. Remember MSRP is what distilleries price their whisky at, not at demand, so if money is no object pay whatever you want 🤪.
