BLOGPOST 「 I tried 」
Tumblr media
The surprise day came in and Keisuke-kun announced that he will do a solo live streaming event to celebrate his 4th year since debut in the entertainment industry.
The night before the announcement, I believe that I was talking confidently with my Vietnamese friend that Keisuke-kun won't release anything physically (e.g.: a photo book and the like) worth buying to me. A few hours later, the said friend also sent me the announcement tweet which I also happened to saw at the same time. 😅
Oh well, just a short back story of how it actually was on the day of the announcement. And of course, I am here writing a fan report about it...
Disclaimer: same as always, it might be another long written one and only the parts that I could understand. ✌️✌️
The live stream started and you'll see Keisuke sitting as he claps his hands for the opening of his stream.
Keisuke: it's called LIVESHIP, this is the first time that I am doing this alone. I have been into this room for a number of times already such as (the time of) (Suzuki) Jin's birthday.
He mentioned about some happenings since his 4th year of debut. It seems like they already had talks about the event since TGC (Tokyo Girls Collection) and Keisuke suggested that it's alright to have it on June 29th.
He said that June 29 is his anniversary and coined it as 渡邊記念日 (Watanabe Kinenbi / Watanabe Anniversary). He also mentioned that June 30 is his grandmother's and older brother's birthday and mentioned also his hometown friend (same birthday).
Keisuke: also if you might ask, what's the reason why I am using this thing called LIVESHIP so badly for my fourth year anniversary. Next year is my 5th anniversary and also needless to say it's my 30th birthday, it's just to raise up some excitement. Also, I just want to try it out. Well, I am grateful (for the opportunity).
He slightly discussed about the set up of the room. There's a poster of Hagaren and Yangoto. He even stressed out about the fake plant decorations to make the room cool looking. 🤣🤣 He also brought some decorations from his home because his manager asked him to do so. 😅 About the camera on the table, he said that it's a matching camera with Koseki (Yuta). (aww~ 🥰🥰)
He read a comment asking if he and Koseki has contacted each other recently and he said that they haven't although recently it seems that he had met the one in charge for Koseki's hair and makeup.
Aside from discussing about Yangoto and Hagaren, he also talked about his recent university festival appearance. He said that student life was really interesting. He seemed to enjoy the recent university festival talk show that he said maybe he could also do it in Miyagi someday but then he emphasized that he also wants to be invited in an Okinawan school festival.
Keisuke: it just happens that I want to go to Okinawa. "I WANT TO GO TO OKINAWA." That's why maybe if there's someone from Okinawa watching this liveship, I want to go there in my 5th year (debut anniversary). (laughs)
He have mentioned about Fukuyama Shodai whom he had worked with in the movie "Brave". He said that Fukuyama-kun once said on SNS that he'll have a stage greeting in Kyushu.
Keisuke: Ishikawa Kyushu.. Not in Kyushu (but) Kansai. Is Ishikawa in Kansai? (no one in the staff is answering) Ishikawa is in Kansai. Everyone, Ishikawa is in Kansai. (laughs) (NO, it's not!!)
He then showed the magazine wherein he is the cover, it's called FINEBOYS Plus Tokei.
Keisuke: well, June 29th is my debut anniversary, 「渡邊記念日」 . It has been 4 years but this is my FIRST solo cover. It's like a miracle that it happened to be on a commemorative day.
Keisuke: please buy it... June 29th (he mistook the title of the magazine as June 29th LOL)
Tumblr media
Keisuke: it's not June 29 but FINEBOYS Plus. Please do buy it. (laughs) It's my first solo cover.
After discussing about his film, his drama and the magazine we move on to the next segment... and he even have a title call!? The title is "What I wanna do on my 5th year". 🤔🤔
- RADIO because during shooting (for drama or movie), he is aware of the cameras but it's different in a radio. There's no camera and only his voice would be heard. Since he likes talking, he wants to do it.
He briefly mentioned about his write-up for Yomiuri Shimbun. He do writes short essays from time to time.
He also briefly mentioned about Kuwata Keisuke and Fukuyama Masaharu's radio shows?? 🤔 And his recent guesting on Matsuoka Koudai's radio show
Keisuke: you can see an EARNEST Koudai so you should definitely listen to Dressing Park.
🤔🤔🤔🤔
SERIOUSLY!! He's actually doing whatever he felt like doing and now he's reading a newspaper while talking on a livestream!!
Keisuke: uhm, i wanna do a radio together with a comedian.
He mentioned quite a few names of comedians he knows and also mentioned that one of his juniors is a comedian (お笑い芸人) . 🤔 Also mentioning when he met Yamada Yuki and Otaka-san (he do mentions a lot of names!!). Fuwa-chan and Hongo Kanata also.
The next corner is about information.
- amuse mobile renewal to amuse plus - off tabi (with Matsuoka Koudai and Suzuki Jin - Watanabe goods
That wraps up Keisuke's live stream for today. I'm looking forward to the trip at Enoshima.

FMA Exhibition Opening Ceremony feat. Tsubasa Honda, Kanata Hongo, & MC Teruyuki Tsuchida | Mini-Report 9/14/2017
Tumblr media
The Fullmetal Alchemist Exhibition special preview opening ceremony featured actors from the live action film, Tsubasa Honda (Winry) and Kanata Hongo (Envy). Also at the ceremony was FMA special supporter, comedian Teruyuki Tsuchida, who seemed to be the MC.
Tumblr media
The opening ceremony and preview was for the press in order to promote the exhibition. The giant Al statue unveiled at the Hagaren Fan Event in July, was featured on stage. The exhibition doesn’t officially open until September 16th, and runs through October 29th in Tokyo, but there’s another special preview September 15th for fans lucky enough to attend!
Tumblr media
Honda and Hongo got a first look inside the exhibition. Honda commented, “From the moment I entered and got my ticket, I was thrilled! It’s all so exciting!”
Hongo commented, “There were many things that you wouldn’t be able to enjoy unless you’re here so I’d really like everyone to come [check it out].”
Tumblr media
Tsuchida also added, “The detail on all of the content meant to inform [the visitors]... I’d like everyone to look closely at the signs, like those that say, ‘the toilet’s this way!’”
With that, the FMA Exhibition was introduced, making fans smile. The 3 guests forgot about work and joyfully enjoyed the event too!
Tumblr media
There were also comments from Hongo and Tsuchida on the movie Fullmetal Alchemist, which opens 12/1! Hongo said, “The movie uses a level of CG beyond what Japanese film has used before. The uneasiness that everyone’s been carrying is being steadily swept away so instead, I’d like all of you to watch [the movie] without worries!
Tsuchida commented on Hongo’s comment, “Hongo-san, your comment was really good! (laughs)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The winner of the ‘If I Was an Alchemist’ drawing contest was also announced. The winner was a middle school 2nd year who drew the “Grade Improving Alchemist” and got a drawing of her original character drawn by Arakawa-sensei. The winner’s drawing gets to be exhibited at the FMA Exhibition too.
Tumblr media
“I should’ve drawn something too!” both Hongo and Honda exclaimed.
Tumblr media
Finally, Honda, Hongo, and Tsuchida all cut the opening ribbon, ending the opening ceremony. After that, the press was given a special viewing of the FMA Exhibition!

Important Announcements One After Another from Tsubasa Honda, Kanata Hongo, Ryuta Sato, and Director Sori! FMA Fan Event Part Two (Film Part) Report
On Wednesday July 12th, the invitation-only fan event that marked the triumphant end of the world tour through America and France, and encompassed the manga, anime, and film - all of FMA - began! This day was the day that the original FMA work began serialization. The day was divided into two parts: the manga and anime part and the film part, and with the film part, Winry’s actress Tsubasa Honda, Envy’s actor Kanata Hongo, Hughes’ actor Ryuta Sato, and Director Fumihiko Sori appeared! In a theatre swelling with excitement, on a day that ought to be celebrated, important, fitting news were continuously announced! Here’s the report on this day’s event!
Tumblr media
The audience overflowed with even more excitement, shrieking and shouting as Tsubasa Honda (Winry), Kanata Hongo (Envy), Ryuta Sato (Hughes), and Director Fumihiko Sori appeared! Honda-san greeted everybody, “Since today’s a fan event, let’s have fun!” Hongo-san said, “Because I’m also a Fullmetal Alchemist fan I’d like to have fun too!” Then Sato-san, “I’m more nervous than at other usual theater greetings. We also haven’t seen [the footage] yet so I think [we’re also waiting to] evaluate it (haha). It does seem to be shaping up to be a wonderful film so please enjoy it!” Director Sori added, “I’m very nervous standing in front of so many people. The film is currently in the middle of a lavish production. Please look forward to it.” And with that, everyone individually greeted all of the FMA fans that had gathered at the theater.
While the theater audience showed off their excitement, news about the mouthwatering presents given to moviegoers were revealed! The first present is a special edition comic drawn by Hiromu Arakawa! This present is a new chapter drawn by Arakawa-sensei herself after 7 years with never-before-drawn Ed and Al. “That’s amazing, isn’t it! That [Arakawa-sensei] will draw a new chapter for us, it’s awesome! In order to have a reading copy [of the manga] and a collection copy, I guess we’ll have to watch [the movie] at least twice, huh!” Hongo-san exclaimed, reacting as a fan and receiving laughs and great applause from the audience. Furthermore, a second present for moviegoers was decided! A 2018 poster calendar that uses the special edition comic cover was announced, making the audience’s excitement rise to the max!!
Actually, while telling the story about how the fan event came to be and how it was communicated to the original creator Arakawa-Sensei, a message from Arakawa-Sensei arrived. After hearing the comment, Honda-san said, “Receiving such words of gratitude, then having a special edition comic drawn for us, and a calendar - she’s also bringing us a lot of fun!” with earnest gratitude toward Arakawa-Sensei. Director Sori agreed, giving a message of joy in response to Arakawa-Sensei’s message, “We’re really grateful. It won’t be too long now until the film’s completion, so I’ll do my best to take all of your (the fans) support and use it to work on what’s left of the film!“
After a lot of new information was revealed at the event, to think even more news was to come! Al loves cats and so back on April first, as part of an April Fool’s joke, we requested that the public name our cat Bo-chan’s character in the film, and it’s been decided that the character the cat will be playing is, ‘Nyalphonse’ (Nyarufonsu)! The audience reacted with applause! And, a character visual with Nyalphonse was also revealed! Actually, Honda-san, who along with Arakawa-Sensei and Yamada-san chose Bo-chan’s character name, nearly melted when she saw Nyalphonse being brought out to the stage! Nyalphonse will also appear in the film. Please check it out when you watch the movie!
Finally, in celebration of the live action movie, a life-sized Alphonse figure was manufactured and the reproduction was so faithful that it felt like it was taken straight out of the film’s world! Park-san and Kugimiya-san, who appeared in the first part of the event, returned for the unveiling ceremony! This life-sized Alphonse figure will also be exhibited at the Fullmetal Alchemist Exhibition. And with a very enthusiastic audience, the fan event came to a close!
♦ Message from creator Hiromu Arakawa ♦
Good parts of the manga are all amazingly packed into the film Fullmetal Alchemist. I would like to personally experience the joy of fans so look forward to see something new [in the live action], and also look forward to see it on a big screen in a movie theater together with everyone [there]. I would be glad if fans of Yamada-kun and the rest of the cast, and also people that still don’t know about the original work too, learned about Fullmetal Alchemist through the movie!

DEAR 2016-2017   1/1 Concert Report
Hi this is @humming-yay translator of ryoosukeyamada fansub and I was fortunate enough to go to the DEAR 2016-2017 Tokyo Dome concert on the 1st on Jan the 12:00 afternoon one (it was my first time attending a Johnny’s concert!) :)
Tumblr media
I’ll start off with buying the goods, I arrived in Tokyo 31st of December around 3pm and I planned to go to Tokyo Dome to buy the goods on the 31st around 7pm to just buy the goods so I don’t have to go there really early on the day of the concert and worry if I can line up and buy the goods on time before the concert. And also to scope the place out to figure out a meeting place with my friend. If you’ve been checking twitter you know how ridiculous the lines were that day it was like 8 hours long during the morning and midday. So I felt really unsure if I was able to buy them that day. I got to Tokyo Dome and there were many JE fans (Because of the countdown concert) There was a guy pointing out the end of the line so I went there and ended up only lining up for 30mins! (but the group poster was sold out) It was because it was during the DEAR concert so there weren’t as many people! So a tip is to line up for goods during the concert the day before :D After the DEAR concert ended (around 7:40) heaps of people came out of the dome and the line was super long again.
Tumblr media
*** This part isn’t really related to the concert just personal experience so skip it if you want to ***
Also this was my first time going to a Johnny’s concert so I had no idea how the system worked to buy the goods. The staff were saying on their megaphones that it was divided into 3 sections. I was like what 3 sections??? Do you get your goods in one line and pay in the other?? I just started lining up and asked the girl in front of me who was holding some uchiwa’s ‘can you buy the goods here?’ (In Japanese ofc) She’s like ‘Yes, yes you can buy the goods here’ But by the tone of the voice she was making fun of me :( Afterwards I found out after asking mulitple staff that the goods were divided into 3 sections depending on the items, one section sold some of the DEAR goods, one section just sold the charater key rings and photos and one section sold the count down uchiwas. Obviously that girl knew about this since she was holding the uchiwa’s but didn’t bother telling me T.T
My friend (who’s been a JUMP fan for a long time and have attended a concert before) also said that Japanese JE fans have a bad vibe and I do agree :l When I went to Harajuku after the concert there were heaps of JUMP fans who also went to the concert and I overheard one say ‘Hey that’s the tobiko that pushed me at the concert’ Yeah idk why they’re so mean to each other D: (I’m just glad the international fandom is different)
******************************************************************************************
Anyway the day of the concert came and I met up with my friend at McDonalds at 10:30 we chatted, made our way to the dome, took photos put the DEAR tattoos on and lined up to go in. The concert starts at 12:00 but you can go in from 10:00, we went in at like 11:40. Our seats were in the middle section of the stands. The concert started a bit after 12:00. The opening video went on and fans screamed when their bias was on, and then JUMP appeared on the main stage starting off singing ‘Masquerade’
The set list was:

2.       Run de Boo

In sugirusetsunasa the water works looked amazing and Inochan had his white hood up and looked so cute. Ganbaretsugo was one of the best parts of the concert because of their bunny costume!!!! It’s my favourite costume out of all JUMP costume’s so I’m so glad to be able to see it again and live!! And also they were holding bazookas, during the concert I had no idea what came out of them but I checked twitter later and they were little bunny plushies with their signtures on them!!
We are otokonoko was great too I love the song and they each had tamborines tapping each other on their butt and stuff, it was really cute. Konya anata wo kudokimasu was really funny, the animation playing on the main stage was really tacky and funny (like a women turning into a sponge etc) and Ino-chan hugged himself in the part were he sings ‘Dakishimeru~’ For Maji Sunshine they were on the trolleys going around the dome with gold sparkly confetti coming down and every one in the audience was dancing. Also there was a part were Yuto was holding a selfie-cam and all the JUMP members were in the shot and it looked really cute ><  Near the end Takaki sang impersonating Kimpachi sensei and then Dai-chan got forced to sing while impersonating him by the members and failed miserably. He felt embarrassed and posed at the end showing his fist with the DEAR tattoo on it and the camera took a close-up of him on the main screen.
Personally the really best part of the concert was the MC!! I was so surprised how good JUMP was talking in real life the conversation went on so smoothly and it was hilarious, it felt like I was watching one of their TV shows but better! They were teasing Hikaru about his dumbness, he coundn’t say the 9x9 timetable Yabu asked what’s 7x8 he answered 52 (not sure of exact numbers but something along those lines). He blamed School Kakumei for revealing his dumbness. Also there was a big yabuhika moment where they got into a fight and hika went to resolve it by going to kiss yabu but yabu rejected. Also yabu said he only slept for 2 hours and when he woke up his face was really bloated looking like Anpanman. Hika said during Fantastic Time in the part were Yabuhika crouch down on their knees Hika laughed so hard because Yabu’s face looked so different.
And then Chinen cutely suggested that if we all sucked in our breath at the same time facing upwards we might deflate the ceiling of the Tokyo dome and it might fall. And then dai-chan said ‘if it does fall please protect yourselves with ur uchiwa’ and Yabu was like ‘No we’ll go and protect them’ and the whole dome was like ‘Fuu~~’. The members were like wow Yabu you’ve changed this year and Dai-chan said, ‘Did you change to a new face?’ (え、顔変えたのかな?)following on from the Anpanman joke >< We sucked in our breath on the count of 3 2 1 and obviously nothing happened as they quickly pointed out. Then they went on to promote their upcoming movies. Dai-chan talked about ‘Kodomo Tsukai’ and Yuto talked about ‘BokuGoha’ and Yama talked about ‘HagaRen’. He said the poster was released on that day in the morning and he asked the audience who’s seen it already and a lot of people put their hand up (including me :)) The other members haven’t seen the posters yet so they asked Yama to recreate it and Yama made a weird-serious face and the others were like what?? He’s like I’m just standing and there’s my brother who’s really big behind me. Then Yuto went behind Yama to be Al from the movie and Yama ducked to his knees to become really small ><  Chinen promoted his movie ‘Shinobi no kuni’ and it was Inoo’s turn to promote his and Hika was like ‘Momo onna’ (peach girl in Japanese) and Inoo was like yes peach girl. He says he gets really embarrassed remembering the filming and all the kyun kyun stuff he did and Hika was like ‘yeah I wore really long hair and my heart was skipping’ Then everyone realised he was talking about cross-dressing as Yamamoto Mizuki and Hika was like ‘I’m actually dressed up as a boy now’ Then Yuto said ‘You got addicted to it (dressing up as Yamamoto Mizuki) after Itajyan’ They also talked about the count down concert and Keito singing with his Dad, they were like you copied your Dad with tying you hair up or your dad copied you :P
The MC ended and they went back to singing starting off with ‘My Girl’, Ariyama’s dancing and singing was beautiful. For ChikuTaku it started off with the spotlight on Inoo and he played a beautiful piano solo and then the spotlight went to Yama and he sang his solo beautifully then to Yabu. Then all the lights came on and the whole JUMP band joined and played. For ‘Your Seed’ the JUMP band also played and it was a new rock version and Dai-chan was rapping and it sounded so unfamiliar to the original song I had no idea what he was saying but apparently when I checked twitter it’s completely new (not 100% sure on this info) There was fire blasting during the song and you could really feel the heat from it even from the seats! For Mr Flawless they came on the trolleys and were saying ‘who will it be tonight?’ I had no idea what they were talking about and then Yabu was like STOP and they went off their trolleys and they each gave a bouquet of roses to a fan. One of the fans had a uchiwa that said Dear Yabu… something something (didn’t have time to read it all but it was some message to him) and yabu gave the bouqet to her. Yuto gave it to a girl holding his uchiwa and Takaki threw it backwards to the audience wedding style. (The girls were really vicious in fighting and getting the bouquet). During school girl the members linked hands to make a circle except for Yama who was in the middle and covered his eyed with his hands. The members skipped around him in time with the song and Yama had to guess at the end who was behind him. He said ‘Yabu!’ but it was actually Yuto behind him J Yama covering his eyes looked really cute and the other members happily going around in circles looked really cute too >< They ended the concert with DEAR and afterwards Yama leaded saying their thank you’s and that JUMP’s New Year’s Resolution will be to become very close to thier fans. (Pls do esp for us int fans ><) Hika yelled at the end 9x9 is 81! The members were like wow you remembered one thing right. :P
After they went back backstage the fans calling for an encore started. This was a real struggle. Half the people were saying Jump! Jump! And the other half were saying Encore! Encore! My friend and I really didn’t know which one to say and it was a mess but Jump quickly came back on again on the trolley with thier con t-shirts and sang Baby I Love You. Afterwards in Aisureba Motto the part were they sing ‘Gyu gyu gyu~’ Dai-chan was squeezing Ino-chan’s butt :P Also they threw sign balls during the encore. At the part were Yama asks for thier name and the audience says Hey! Say! JUMP the sparkly concert tape came out and everyone reached out thier hands to grab them, unfortunately if your at the back you can’t get them. The front bit of my section were able to get tape but I didn’t get any bc I was in the middle ^^; But after I went out of the dome I saw two fans holding out signs that said ‘Please share some tape’ So if your really desperate to get some prepare a sign or bring a notebook to write ‘銀テープください’ (please give me sparkly tape)
Overall thoughts:
- JUMP in real life was exactly the same as they seem on TV :)
- the concert was different from what I expected, it was during the day so the dome was really bright since the ceiling has holes and the scenery was not what I was used to seeing in DVDs since it wasn’t dark. (I thought there would be some way to make it dark but apparently not lol JUMP talked about it during the MC).
-  They’re member ai is so strong and they’re so cute, from a far they looked like girls!
-  The concert feels like a dream I can’t believe I got to see them in real life and realise that they’re actually real and human!
-  The concert was really fun I want to say thank you so much to Hey! Say! JUMP for the great time and the hard effort they put in.
If you have any other questions feel free to ask me and I will try to answer them as best as possible! Sorry my con report isn’t as detailed I’m writing this on the 5th of Jan after I came back from Japan since I was really busy ^^; Here are more photos I took :)

I saw a lot of fans have these colourful clear bags (you can buy these from WEGO) and put thier bias’s shop photos, pictures of members with snapchat/snow filters and other little pieces relating to the member :) I thought was a really cute and smart idea :D Also heaps of fans had cute ribbons in thier hair and the colour of the ribbon corresponding to thier bias :)
One final tip is that there is a certain size limit for uchiwas! it has to be less than 28.5 x 29.5 cm, there is a size fitting thing at the ticket place to check if your uchiwa isnt too big. Also this is not an offical rule but around je fans it’s accepted that you can’t use holo paper/sticker on your ucihwa, apparently they reflect really strongly on other people (namely the idols) eyes.

Description : The brothers perform the banned alchemic technique of human transmutation in a effort to resurrect her when Trisha dies of the plague. As a result, the transmutation backfires and in law with equal exchange, the left leg and Alphonse's whole body of Edward are ruined. Edward loses his right arm to save Alphonse's soul, binding it having a blood seal into a suit of armour. Roy Mustang invites Edward to become a method to restore Alphonse's body to be researched by a State Alchemist. Edward triumphs, becoming the name according to his prosthetic post limbs, the Fullmetal Alchemist. Three years on, the Elrics search for the legendary Philosopher's Stone to realize their aims. Marcoh sends his notes to be found by them, however they learn the essential factor to really make the Stone is human sacrifices. The buddy of Mustang, Maes Hughes, carries on their research, but is shot dead with a disguised Envy for finding the strategies of the Homunculi. Seeing with Izumi, the Elrics learn human transmutation was perpetrated by her on her stillborn child. The rogue homunculus Greed captures Alphonse, but is saved by Amestris' president King Bradley, shown to function as homunculus Wrath. Greed is thus melted down by and reabsorbed inside the originator Father of the Homunculi. Winry and the Elrics return to Central City to go to with Hughes but learn of his passing. Lieutenant Maria Ross is framed for Hughes' homicide, but is apparently killed by Mustang. Yet, Edward learns Ross' departure was staged so she can be smuggled by Mustang from the united states to Xing, helped by Xingese prince Ling Yao. Hohenheim is reunited with by Edward but despises him for his long absence at residence. As the narrative advances, the Homunculi are encountered by the protagonists repeatedly. Mustang kills lust; Mustang and Ling captures Gluttony, however he ends up consuming Envy into his null, and Edward, Ling -like belly. Gluttony takes Alphonse to meet Father, but Ling turns right into a homunculus, specifically the newest avatar of Greed, when the others escape from the belly of Gluttony. The Elrics are released to continue their pursuit provided that Father isn't opposed by them. Locating an underground tunnel beneath Briggs, General Olivier Armstrong find Father and the Elrics has been creating a national transmutation group and intends to give its citizens so he is able to ascend to godhood. Greed recovers betrays Father and his previous self's memories, teaming up with after, and Edward, the chimera minions of Kimblee Hohenheim. Christianity vs Islam - Comparing the Earliest Biographies and Sayings Written - Jay Smith
youtube
PfanderFilms – https://www.youtube.com/user/PfanderFilms/videos
The accounts of Jesus were written 15-60 years after the death and Resurrection of Jesus by eyewitness and friends of the eyewitnesses. Matthew and John were eyewitnesses. Mark and Luke got their information from the eyewitnesses. When you look at what we have historically and what Islam has historically, there is no comparison. Islam was written 200-300 years after the death of Muhammad by no eye witnesses or by people who never knew him, nor even lived in the same country he lived. That is why we can know exactly who Jesus was and what Jesus said. I Place ALL my Trust in My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as Muslims Should.
March of 2018 Al Fadi invited Dr Jay Smith to his studio to record with him a number of videos on the historical problems concerning Islam’s beginnings, and other areas of historical interest.
In this series, they are discussing the problems with what we know concerning Islam’s emergence onto the world stage.
They begin this first episode by assessing the classical account of Muhammad’s life, his time in Mecca, his movement to Medina, and his reception of the Qur’an between 610 – 632 AD
It is this account that we are taught in our schools and universities, and the only account that Muslims are told to believe. Yet, few people have bothered to critique or question it…until now.
Rarely are we told that everything we possess on Muhammad’s life and saying do not come from anyone who was living at that time (i.e. eyewitness account) but was only written down between 200 – 240 years after the fact, by people who never knew him, nor even lived in the same country he lived.
What’s odd is that no one seems to be troubled by this fact. If we as Christians were forced to depend on the same historical authority for our Lord Jesus Christ, on such late material for who Jesus was, what he did, and what he said (i.e. the Sira, the Hadith and the Tafsir of Jesus), we would have nothing written down about him until the 3rd century. How would we ever support his historicity, or argue for his authenticity?
We now come to the very real problems with Islam’s history, from the perspective of the historians themselves.
Since so much of what is classically known about how Islam began is derived from the 9th and 10th centuries, for what was happening in the 7th century (thus, around 200 – 300 years too late), historians are concerned by such a time discrepancy.
So, they have decided to return to the 7th century, and find out what exactly the historical evidence tells us.
And what they are finding is not very encouraging.
For instance:
-The first Arab inscription referencing Muhammad is in 691 AD, yet it should be from the time Muhammad lived, in 632 AD, or before. Suggesting no Arab referred to Muhammad for 60 years following his death (Volker Popp-Ohlig & Puin 2010:53)
-The first reference to the term ‘Muslim’ is in the 690s. Prior to that time they were called: Saracen’, ‘Hagarene’, ‘Ishmaelite’, ‘Maghraye’, and ‘Muhajiroun’ (‘Chronicle of John of Niku’ – 1602, & Nevo & Koren, 2003:234)
-The first reference to the term ‘Islam’ is not until 691 AD (on the Dome of the Rock) (Volker Popp-Ohlig, & Puin 2010:71)
-The first reference to Mecca is not until 741 AD, yet this is the city where Abraham supposedly lived in 1800 BC (see Surah 21:51-71), and where Muhammad grew up (Crone 1987:134-136; Hoyland 1997:426; Holland 2012:303)
-The first biography of Muhammad within Islamic sources is not until 833 AD (Ibn Hisham & Al Waqidi)
These findings are indeed damaging, and suggest that the classical account of how Islam began is not only false, but can not be supported when observing that which history affords us.
The scholars who are doing this investigation involve some of the best minds in the Western world today, including:
-Dr John Wansborough (SOAS: Qur’anic studies, Sect. Milieu) -Dr Gerald Hawting (SOAS: 1st c. of Islam) -Dr Patricia Cröne (Princeton: Meccan trade, 15 languages) -Dr Andrew Rippin (Calgary: Muslims, Their beliefs/Practices) -Dr Robert Hoyland (Oxford: Seeing Islam as Others, 18 lang.) -Dr Yehuda Nevo (Jerusalem: Crossroads to Islam, inscriptions) -Dr Gunther Lűling, Dr Gerd-Rüdiger Puin, Dr Hans-Caspar Graf von Bothmer, Dr Karl-Heinz Ohlig (Germany, earkt Qur’anic MSS) source

Fullmetal World Whirlwind Tour Second Stop Report! Ryosuke Yamada, Tsubasa Honda, and Director Sori Appear at Japan Expo in Paris!
The second stop on the World Whirlwind Tour was the 18th Annual Japan Expo taking place in Paris and encompassing all of Japanese culture from manga and anime to games and talent. Straight from LA, Ryosuke Yamada, who plays the protagonist Ed, and Director Sori gathered [in Paris] along with Winry's actress, Tsubasa Honda on Friday, July 7th!
Tumblr media
At this Expo's largest stage capable of accommodating 4,000 guests, and just like at Anime Expo, with foreign fans arriving in great numbers, the event started. Before the special guests appeared, a 49 second trailer was shown causing the room to quickly burst into cheers, then, holding a small bamboo with wishes hanging off of it, entered Yamada, Honda, and Director Sori.
The first greetings started with the MC explaining, "Today in Japan, it's a day known as Tanabata," and then Yamada continued with, "In Japan it is said that if you write your wishes down today, on July 7th, they'll come true. We wrote down our wishes and brought them here." ( ※ Mr. Yamada's wish was 'For FMA to be loved even more than it is now!!') After that, he greeted the fans in French and was met with loud, excited cheers.
During the question and answer session, Yamada was asked what his attitude was when he received the offer to portray [Ed], to which he answered, "At first I thought, 'I wonder if it really is okay if it's me?' but later, I thought, 'man, I'm glad it was me." Honda, who is also a big fan of the original work, answered as a fan, "I felt very very happy to be able to be in this work that is so beloved in Japan. This work is mainly about brotherly love that can move you and entertain you, which makes it exciting to watch - I think that's the kind of work [FMA] is."
Tumblr media
Then, while everyone was excited because of the talk session, the special footage was shown and, just like in LA, the footage was received with enthusiastic acclaim throughout the room. With fiery excitement and cheers of delight, Yamada, Honda, and Director Sori were welcomed back to the stage where the MC asked them for their thoughts on the audience's reaction to the footage. "I was extremely happy. I was deeply moved while watching [the audience's reaction]. Was it like you imagined?" asked Yamada, to which the audience responded with great excitement. "I was glad to hear the cheers get louder," Honda commented, and the audience responded with yells swelling with happiness. Director Sori continued, "[While watching the footage] I was very nervous wondering what you all thought about it. So, do you feel like you want to see [the film]?" and as he asked the audience, the fans once again replied with loud cries of support.
After that, Yamada answered the question of how he portrayed a character that wasn't exactly Japanese, "This was the first time I ever played a character that was foreign so at first I, of course, felt some resistance, but as soon as I tried on the costume, in that instant, I became Ed and I was able to get rid of that uncomfortable feeling." Honda proclaimed her love to FMA with, "I also love Fullmetal Alchemist so I was able to overcome the wall of race through that love." When the talk moved to the great use of CGI, Director Sori commented, "Without using CGI, we wouldn't be able to make [the movie] so we used a lot of it, but I like movies that combine emotional and artistic things through the use of technology so this film has all of that." Following the Director's comment, the MC asked the room, "Do you think [the Director] has succeeded?" to which the audience responded with loud, excited yells and applauses. At this point, the creator Arakawa Sensei's surprise message was read and the room was once more enveloped in great cheers of joy.
Tumblr media
The MC asked the special guests to give their thoughts on the event, which was exciting from beginning to end, to the fans that had gathered there, and Yamada started off, "I'm happy. It feels like my time to look the world in the eyes has come. I feel deeply moved." Moved by the joyful fans, Honda mentioned, "It's fun to look at all of you cosplaying here and there." Then, when it was time to enter the Q&A part with the fans that gathered that day, one cosplaying fan asked what the most difficult scene to tackle during filming was and Director Sori answered, "Ed and Al's heroic brotherly quarrel, which is in the film, was probably the hardest part. It was because Yamada-kun had to imagine Al was there while acting with a different actor. Afterwards the CGI was put in of course, but Yamada's intuition is very good so it went well." Another fan asked if there was pressure from the FMA fans, to which Director Sori answered, overflowing with confidence, "There's a lot of faithfulness to the original work [in the film] so I made [the film] while thinking that fans of the original work would definitely enjoy it and didn't really feel any pressure. I had no worries (haha)."
For the final messages, Yamada, like someone playing the lead role, gave a magnificent message, "The staff and cast, as one, worked hard to make this work that is beloved around the world into a film. I think there's advantages in the manga version being a manga, just like there's advantages in the live action version being a live action so I hope they can all be lumped together and loved." Honda also followed, commenting on her confidence in the work, "The staff, the cast, and everyone put all of their effort into filming and creating this. [The film] has become something that everyone in the world can have confidence in and recommend. Please watch it." Lastly, Director Sori closed the event with this message, "I really felt everyone's enthusiasm so I'd like to create a work that doesn't betray your expectations. Please don't worry (haha), and please watch!"
(*Corrected one of Director Sori’s comments.)

[TRANSLATION] Ryosuke Yamada’s SODA Magazine Interview (FMA Cut) November 2016
Yamada Ryosuke continues to shoulder his destiny. Upon completing the filming of “Fullmetal Alchemist”, he looked back with a small smile, looking forward to greet his next work as soon as possible. Surely he did it stoically and with a lot of effort. However there are also some flexibility that he couldn’t handle, although it seems like he could handle it, turns out there are also things that he couldn’t. That’s why, we’d like to listen thoroughly. As the center of an idol group, and as a leading actor, what are the things in his mind? Exploring the current view of the 23 year old Ryosuke Yamada.
PROFILE
Born in Tokyo in 1993. Debuted as a member of Hey! Say! JUMP in 2007. Since then, he has been active in various kinds of concerts and variety shows. As a solo artist, he is active as an actor in dramas, stage plays, and movies. In January this year, he won the Newcomers of the Year in Japan Academy Award for his work in “Assassination Classroom”. His other prominent works includes “Grasshopper” (2015 film), the drama series “Kindaichi Case Files” and many others. His starring drama “Cain and Abel” will begin airing in October [2016]. He also has an upcoming leading movie “Fullmetal Alchemist” scheduled for 2017 winter release.
As the face of the idol group Hey! Say! JUMP, and as a young rising actor, his degree of recognition is already high. He had just completed filming the highly acclaimed movie “Fullmetal Alchemist”, yet he was immediately chosen to lead this year’s getsu 9 fall season. In addition, [his activities] is in parallel to Hey! Say! JUMP’s national tour, and this time, it is the first time for him to be in charge of directing and composition of the tour by himself. He is a multi-talented super idol, but how many people knows about Yamada Ryosuke’s real face? Not just [the face] of a glittering prince, but his true face as a man.
The cast and staff of “Fullmetal Alchemist” had just wrapped up a few days ago. This work is based on a charismatic & popular manga, and Yamada plays the main character Edward, and upon playing the so-called Ed, he had become a buzzing topic on the net, and this is still fresh among the reader’s mind. First of all, let’s talk about this work.
"I thought that I will never give the Ed role to anyone, I still think about that until now."
" Eventhough the shooting has wrapped-up, the [Hagaren movie] staff still have to work hard from now on. I think that this work requires a lot of CG for almost all of the scenes, so I’m feeling overwhelmed upon waiting for the finished product. For example, Al (Ed’s younger brother, Alphonse) is drawn in full CG. During the shooting, there’s a stand-in actor, but Al’s actual height is much taller than him, about 2m 20cm. So it was very difficult to act out a dialogue while facing a different position than the opposite actor’s actual face. I didn’t think that it would be such a hurdle when you don’t look directly at your co-star’s face in acting out your emotions. It was a valuable experience that I probably might never encounter again.
Also, although we cranked-in in Italy and cranked-up in Japan, I think the audience will think that everything was taken in Italy. I think that there will be such an elaborated processing [of the movie], even I was like, “Eh? Where did we shoot in Italy and where did we shoot in Japan?!”, it all felt like an illusion. I’m looking forward to the preliminary preview as well."
It was also Yamada’s first experience to shoot overseas in a distance as far as Europe. That fact seems to leave a great stimulus for him.
"Although I was in a place where people don’t recognize who I am, however there were some Hey! Say! JUMP fans who came. The local fans came to visit us [at the shooting location] and called out “Ryosuke~!”. Witnessing something like that, I thought that it was all thanks to Hey! Say! JUMP that these people knows about me, and I hope my group will be able to be active overseas as well someday, my dream had expanded.
During our shooting there, half of the crew were local staff. Since I can hardly speak English, I had to do body languages to tell them something like “I want to do this”. The Italian staffs were really lively, it was very fresh and I had a lot of fun with them."
When being asked, “Which part was the hardest during the shooting?” His answer was, “Everything”. Although he is often given action scenes in movies due to his extraordinary physical ability, he told me with rounded eyes, “It was seriously difficult this time.” His arm muscles also seemed bigger, until recently during the start of the shoot and still remains so after it finished.
"Yeah, for the sake of this role I did pumped up my arms, but... originally my muscles are easy to attain, so training didn’t really do much difference.  I think it’s because I regularly do stuff like push-ups at home.
As for me, every time I appear in movies, actions are usually involved (laughs). Even in movies that didn’t have action scenes, the discussions always ends up being like, “Let’s see if you can move to this extent.” However, this is an advantage for me that it became one of the reason why I was chosen for this role. Being an actor with physical capability, a short stature, and a strong facial feature, I guess there’s not many out there (laughs).
“Fullmetal Alchemist” has been my favorite manga since I was small, when the talk of getting this role came to me, I thought, “I won’t let this Ed role to be given to others!” Even up until now I still thought so. However, I saw comments from several original manga fans, saying, “Hey, isn’t Yamada too tall [to play Ed]?!” and I was like, “this is the first time that I heard people calling me tall” (laughs). And also my face, though it’s not as strong as a foreigner, I was often told I look like a [Caucasian] half-bred. Upon getting this role, I finally thought, “Oh, thank God I have this kind of face!” (laughs).
Since it’s a popular work, I totally understand that the fans of the original are really nervous about this [live-action]. That’s because I’m also a fan of the original. However, for the time being, I wish a lot of people would come to see the completed work. In order to create a work that doesn’t disappoint, I did my best at the shooting location, after wards, I would like everyone to evaluate a lot of things about this movie after watching it. Even if the comments are like, “Yamada’s [acting] was bad, but the movie is great!”I think I can accept that wisely. If something like that happens, I apologize [in advance] (laughs)."
"Efforts are common in any field. The tenacity of being able to do what you like is not hard work in the real sense."
