at this point i’ve seen more races in austria than my own family in a year
It's not only the amount of time they race there (5 times in 3 years with their scheduled GP), it's that the amount of red flags I have seen there.
In 2020, we had 2 red flags in Austria 1. (In Moto2 Enea's crash and Syahrin crashing into Enea's bike. In MotoGP, Franky's bike colliding into Zarco's bike, and we all know what happened in there). In Austria2, another red flag (Maverick and the bike going into flames).
In 2021, during Austria 1 it was red flagged too (Dani crashed and Savadori crashed into the bike, making it go into flames). Austria 2 was the craziest race with riders changing bikes and Brad wins with slick tyres on a wet track, which is the most brave and stupid thing to do.
So basically 4 red flags in 4 races. And the amount of crashes and track warning riders receive here. No, I not looking forward to them racing in the Red Bull Ring.
And just to make it all worse, the track has been remodelled. They put a chicane in the long straight because they wanted to reduce speed at turn 2.
Tumblr media
If I remember, correctly is in that straight where Enea and Dani had their crashes, so potentially this will make the track safer. I also know that this change of directions looks super cool on slowmo cams and in GIF, but being honest, they scare the shit out of me. I always see the riders falling and crashing.
To sum it up, please get rid of this circuit.

MotoGP, Motegi 2019
Did Marc actually just cross the line with the last drop of fuel and had to be towed/pushed back to the pits by Hafizh, when his Honda packed up? Oo
Can that Catalonian Bambi once win a race without drama?! XD
His comment to Fabio about it “on the last lap, bam, it was empty. That was close, thehe!”
What a guy...

The MIE Racing Honda Team reconfirms Hafizh Syahrin to complete its 2023 line-up
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After announcing the signing of Brazilian rider Eric Granado, the MIE Racing Honda Team is pleased to confirm that it has extended its agreement with Malaysian rider Hafizh Syahrin. The 2022 season saw Syahrin debut with the team, and in the WorldSBK category. The 28-year old finished in the points in four races and ended the season on the up in terms of both his performance and consistency. The MIE Racing Honda Team thus completes its line-up for the 2023 Superbike World Championship season with two talented and fast riders who are both more than ready for action when the season kicks off in Australia on February 24-26. “I am extremely pleased to announce the contract extension with Hafizh who made his debut with us in World Superbike and has grown steadily throughout the season”, said team owner Midori Moriwaki. “I think that he and Eric (Granado) will form a strong and competitive pairing and will help us to both develop our project with Honda in the category and promote the WorldSBK Championship and motorcycling in South America and Asia, two extremely strategic regions for our sport.”  “I’m very happy to stay with the MIE Racing Honda Team again next season”, Hafizh Syahrin added. “I know that Midori (Moriwaki) is putting together a stronger package for 2023 while I will focus on giving all that I can, building on last year’s experience and aiming to finish in the points at every race. My primary target is to be more competitive and I’m ready to work hard to achieve that.” Read the full article
