Hadiya Nassar was killed by an Israeli sniper in Gaza.

Palestinian photographer Saleh Aljafarawi announced the death of Hadiya Nassar on Thursday.

“You were martyred, my beloved. May God have mercy on you and make your resting place Paradise,” Aljafarawi wrote on the social media platform X.

Al-Jazeera mentioned Aljafarawi as saying that he learned from his cousin that “members of the Israeli army sniped at (Nassar) at the door of her house”.

Nassar became a popular figure after appearing in a video posted by Aljafarawi, who visited her while at the hospital as she was recovering after being wounded in an Israeli airstrike.

In the video, the Palestinian photographer held the woman’s identity card and told her: “You are older than Israel”.

“Of course, of course,” Nassar responded, adding “I am holding on to the (Palestinian) land."

The more I’m hearing about the situation in Gaza, the more disgusted and disturbed I am by the sheer, shameless inhumanity Israel displays daily.

Some few out of many, many, many, many exemples of what Israel did so far:

Dumped gallons of salt over water supplies so Palestinian people cannot safely drink from it

Israeli soldiers filmed themselves torturing a disabled man, stealing belongings of deceased and captive Palestinians, mocking and sexually assaulting Palestinian women, and many more

Bombed an entire hospital full of babies. Babies.

Murdered Hadiya Nassar, a Palestinian woman older than their joke of a state, by sniping her off a roof, simply because she stated a fact.

Threw a woman off a 5 story building just because

Kept the dead bodies of Palestinian prisoners on ice so they could serve their full sentences. Even AFTER they died. Some remains kept for up to 40 years. So they wouldn’t return these people to their families

Produced “Dead Palestinian Baby” dolls as a children’s toy. The toy comes with small bags for “limbs”

We must keep in mind that while genocide is entirely a product of politics, and a form of systematic oppression, we are truly witnesses to hatred. THIS is what hatred is, and this is what it does. When someone asks you how hatred looks like, tell them it looks like Israel.

Once again, I would like to explicitly state that none of my Palestine posting or reblogging is promoting antisemitism of any kind.

But regardless of what my absolutely whacked out supreme court says, antisemitism and antizionism are not the same thing.

So, once again, a reminder that I stand with Palestine, as well as anti-zionist jews.

I don't believe that every civilian of the Israeli Occupation is guilty of the crimes of their government. I also believe that, with the desperation they have been pushed to, Palestinians - as thinking, feeling, passionate human beings - should not only be allowed but expected to stand up and fight for themselves. They are being killed with hellfire and chemicals and guns, and some people say that the only moral thing they can do is lay down and die. No. People say this 'conflict' started on October 7th, but it's been going on for decades, and it is part of a near-global trend to demonize and dehumanize arabs and muslims everywhere.

If you're an American like me and you haven't noticed the patterns, the trend in our culture and popular media, wake the fuck up.

Antisemitism is a problem, but with jewish people - individuals, families, and groups, all over the world, and I have no doubt that it did see a spike after October 7th. In Israel, however, it is a convenient excuse for them to hide behind whenever someone even suggests holding them accountable for their actions.

Additionally, does anyone else find it odd that, when Israeli settlers or zionists fish for sympathy, they have a grand total of A Single Day that they use to garner that sympathy? October 7th. Because people remember single days, don't we? October 7th, September 11th, January 6th, etcetera.

How does a Palestinian choose which date they want us to remember? Out of 75 years of occupation, and recently, months and months of non-stop terror and death and tragedy, how are they supposed to pick which day? So that our tiny detached minds can use it as a cute little mneumonic device for us to remember that people have died? Which day should we use to remember? Which of the dozens? Hundreds? Which one? The day the bombs started dropping on Gaza? Maybe the days when white phosphorus was rained down from the sky? Or what about the day Hadiya Nassar, a woman older than the Israeli Occupation, was assassinated by an Israeli sniper? Which one?

I have seen more than enough. Logic and reason tell me that, with all the cries for help and attempted information suppression I've seen, there is only one just side to this: freedom. If you do not support an end to the occupation and freedom for the Palestinian people, you are either ignorant or evil. There is no further nuance to this. Children have died. It must stop.

It won't... not now, probably not soon... but it must.

You are an inspiring person and a comforting voice of reason, and I need you to know that. I saw your replies in the post about the palestinian woman Hadiya Nassar, and I'm impressed by your calm, despite the more aggressive opinions. I stand with Palestine as well, but I think that if there is one thing we all can learn from this conflict, it's that killing people isn't going to solve anything in the long run...

Thank you! I'm just some guy though. Trying to solve a problem by killing all the bad guys has always been a terrible solution, because you'll always sweep up a bunch of innocent people (eg the French Revolution, the American Prison Complex). Genocide tends to become acceptable when its target is dehumanized.

But enough generalizing. We must take an active approach to active problems. Attend protests, call your representatives, and if you can do nothing else you can still call for help.
