There's no need to be a member of the Durmand Priory- all guests are welcome, so long as they are eager to learn. No formal dress code, but please do bring your own chairs!

Location: Starting at Seitung Province WP and then making way to Cat Island POI on boat/skimmer/really fast swimming
Bring your boats, water transports, skimmers or strong arms and a healthy apetite for a casual fishing and grilling gathering - Bring friends to enjoy a nice date on the water with fresh food or just enjoy the chit chat - Maybe we will catch a leviathan on the way too!
► Please be respectful to everyone - The host does not tolerate any kind of bigotry, bullying or hate towards other roleplayers, IC and OOC.

Pop-Up Beach Party [NA] GW2 RP Event
Aching for a vacation? Boring week looming on the horizon? Have I got the cure for you! Dr. Grotto of Lion's Arch Adventures is hosting an open beach party on Monday, April 15th from 2pm to 5pm EDT.
To join, find us in the RP Squad LFG Tab under "LAA Beach Party" or type the command "/sqjoin Eevee.9107" into your chat panel. We'll be just north of Bloodcoast Ward Waypoint [&BA4EAAA=]
Rules:
Chill vibes only! Please keep all squabbling to a minimum and leave rivalries at the door. You're in no way obligated to interact with other attendees, so it's no biggie if you have someone privately blocked - just don't rope everyone else into it!
you will receive up to three warnings for violating the above rule before being removed from the event. Particularly egregious conduct may result in a ban from all future LAA events.
This is an RP event, but you're not required to participate in RP if you'd rather just watch!
Come and go as you please - there's no obligation to stay until the event ends, nor to arrive at 2pm sharp. (That said, I do appreciate people who arrive on time if able - it's very nerve wracking when there's only 1-2 other people for the first 10 minutes!)

GW2 ROLEPLAYERS
So. I've had this idea reserved for some time, now I finally have the drive and time to pull it off.
Y'know how the GW2 world/public RP scene is kinda well, barely existent? I have an idea that may resurrect it in some way.
This will be for US servers!
HERE WE ARE! This is my WORLD RP RESURRECTION PROJECT!
The idea is to basically make whole cities or areas the " RP event" for quite a few hours, so it's a faux event with no set premise and is only really there to drag people to the area.
World sharding kinda broke random walk up RP for the most part, buuut what if there was some type of anchor point for a single shard?
I plan on being that anchor point, I'm going to select two days of the week and for about 5 hours a night/afternoon set up a squad for people to jump in and jump out of if they want, but at least everyone will be in the same shard.
I will probably rotate through cities, meaning a different one each day, people can set up their own events or businesses for these days to make these places feel a lot more lived in, I would appreciate anyone reaching out to me if they are interested in doing such, a lot of coordination is going to help this kind of project in the long run.
This will of course be headed by the efforts of a fairly small guild, any help will be extremely appreciated.
We are currently deciding on what days this whole thing will be, might make a poll for it if people like this idea enough.

Hey if you're seeing a lot of posts about ai art theft in the gw2 spaces right now, here's why
The fan made gw2 rp extension, WARP, was caught today as being not just pro ai but having members of their discord actively making ai for rp chat bots and an ai to make generated charr art, all being fed art and player rps taken without consent (edit: they're not taking stuff from in game through WARP, the extension doesn't have those capabilities). The devs are actively supporting and helping build these bots off stolen art and writing, and are likely using the tumblr gw2 tags as one source for the work they're stealing
I haven't seen any posts today actually explaining the situation, I learned about it through a guild discord, and since it actively affects the tumblr space I'm making this post to warn yall. The reblog below this post on my blog has resources for how to protect your art from ai generators. I don't currently know any resources to protect writing or rp text. Stay safe y'all o7

WHAT IS PADAG?
Pick A Direction And Go is a Guild Wars 2 Roleplaying guild/community that is not tied to one idea such as a charr warband or bandit gang, we host many types of events that you can get any of your characters involved in! We understand that you might have a lot of alt RP characters that you have left forgotten on your character select screen, well! Dust them off and bring them our way!
What kind of RP events and activities do we host?
The Fight Pits!
This event is just that, fighting! In a pit! We host this event every third Monday of the month, you can either free form the fights like any combat RP, or use our very simple roll-based combat system for the extra thrill and fairness!
Sizzul's Quest!
Want that fantasy adventurers guild lifestyle you always dreamed of? Taking on quests with unknown companions and meeting like minded mercenaries or lovers of adventuring, maybe even post some jobs of your own? Well, Sizzul's Quest will help you in this endeavor! Work your way up the ranks to earn coin and food/drink discounts. If you need that gear repaired after a tough job then Master Blacksmith Sizzul can help you out for a reduced price. We also have open bar nights so come on down!
Culture Shock!
This event varies depending on which culture we are focusing on for the month. We try to focus each event on key aspects which makes each of the races of tyria special. Charrbecues, maybe an asura symposium, or a good ol' norn moot! These events are not restricted to just the race from the theme of the month, anyone can participate. Bring your asura to the human nobles party or have your sylvari sapling hunt something twice their size in a great hunt! This event takes place on the first Monday every two months.
Inquest Shenanigans!
Wanna be the villain sometimes? We know we sure do, so you got any Inquest rats lying around waiting to do some morally questionable things? Well, we have some job opportunities for your little troublemakers! Different members of the Inquest want to send you out on some dastardly errands, pick up the call and do some good for your megakrewe!
And finally!
Various smaller parties of characters that have their own stories, some new and fresh and some with a long history.
PaDaG are a heavy roleplay guild with a emphasis on lore-friendly characters and themes.

alright. know what? with Secrets of the Obscure right around the corner and plenty of new Mists-related sky island settings coming with it, I'll just bite the bullet and interest-check a little something I've been turning in my head for a long, long while.
would YOU be interested in a Mists-based GW2 roleplay guild that uses a lore compliant multiverse system to allow canon, canon-adjacent, lore-breaking, and otherwise 'contradictory' muses to coexist in the same setting?
simply put: every writer's cast would be set in their own self-contained universe. as such, everyone could bring whatever muses they want with their own personal headcanons, and no one could dictate what is or isn't canon for anyone else. so long as your muses are GW2-based, you're good to go! bring your Commanders, bring your canon-divergent OCs, bring your canon muses-- and yes, even the ones that are 'supposed' to be dead. who can say what might have happened in a strange world far across the Mists, after all?
neutral hubs and in-character safety guardrails would be in place to keep all muses on a relatively even playing field regardless of their power, history, and prestige, too. play hardball if you like, but it might not end quite the way you'd hope. the main rule would be to maintain good OOC etiquette at all times: no godmodding, no metagaming, no theft, don't blend IC and OOC, and so-on.

We'll feature a number of keynote speakers, who will be available to take your questions, and between each speaker you'll have the opportunity to snack and mingle!

Location: Isle of Reflection, [CAFE] Guild Hall - Access through Cantha, Seitung Province Guild Hall Portal (EOD required) or Temporary Invitation to the Guild as Event Guest for GH Teleport (Please let me know in advance!!)
Lunar New Year is an event celebrating the Canthan new year and marks the end of winter and the beginning of the spring season.
A New Year’s Eve dinner is held during which family and friends gather for a celebration. The large dinner includes sumptuous and traditionally includes dishes of meat (namely, pork and chicken) and fish and also features a communal hot pot as it is believed to signify the coming together of your loved ones for a meal - A tradition that symbolizes prosperity, abundance and togetherness.

Event festivity: Fortune Slips
The future brings excitement in anticipation of the new year, and of course new fortune. A mysterious fortune teller from beyond shares the ancient Canthan festive tradition of telling your fortune by drawing bamboo slips - But what the Fortune Slips will hold for your future is left for you to find out.
(The omikuji predicts the person’s chances of their hopes coming true, from great Fortune to Misfortune! The results will be randomly rolled by dice.)
Event Festivity: Lunar New Year Firework
Near the end of the banquet feast, everyone will receive a pack of fireworks to light together under the starlit sky to greet the new cycle of the moon. Hold onto the hope of your wishes and celebrate the turn of a new year with family and/or friends. (You can also bring your own fireworks.)

Event location / guild hall lore!
Jade Sanctuary is the Inn Enchanted’s private luxury hotel. The hotel grounds (near the size of a small village) are hidden away on an island near the shores of Shing Jea and accessible by boat and open invitation. While the wandering Café Enchanted is more famous, its roots lie with the inn as main business - After yearlong renovations, weary travelers and adventurers alike can finally enter through its open doors again.
The Lunar New Year banquet will be hosted in the (Guild War Room) main inn area, banqueting hall with an open garden area. Access to the inn’s other interior rooms is forbidden (as the hotel is a maze.)
Shadowy servants and staff members make sure to keep the guest well fed and eager to aid any request. (What are they? Who knows ;) )
For questions you can ask the Inn and Café owner: Yvalris or the manager and Housekeeper: Yunalia.

This tour route includes steep slopes and short drops. While a mount is not required for the route, one is recommended for individuals who might otherwise struggle with rough terrain.
Weapons are permitted but not required. Your Tour Guide is prepared to tackle any reasonable threats along the tour route.
For their safety, please do not bring children on this tour.

This event is on NA servers only, sorry!
Due to the nature of this event, latecomers will have to catch up to the tour group, so please be on time! If you are delayed a few minutes, whisper Andrewsarchus ASAP and we'll try to wait, but out of courtesy for all other attendees we will start no later than 15 minutes after the official start time.
While punctuality is important, you are free to leave at any point during the tour.
Roleplay is encouraged, but lamping is perfectly fine as well!
Please do not harass other attendees - this includes IC as well as OOC! This event's intended tone is a relaxed one.
