EGM January 2023
Here’s the current 2022/23 constitution for more information on all the positions!
Here’s the google form to submit your manifesto ahead of the EGM on Wednesday 15/01/2023 at 6pm.
Document last updated: 25/01/23 - 12:30pm
This document is not representative of all candidates that may run for election as individuals can choose to do so on the night.
Vice President Treasurer  b) One candidate (Name and manifesto will be shared on the night)
2. Disability Officer
a) Jamie Martin (They/he)
Hi! I’m Jamie (they/he), and I’m in my second year of Politics and Social and Public Policy here! This society has honestly saved me in multiple ways and is very close to my heart, and I’d love to be in this role so that I can create an inclusive and truly supportive space for anyone and everyone. I would be suited for this role as I have been in various advocacy and committee roles (see below), and am super passionate about making this society as safe and accessible as possible.
Previous experience:
- I worked within the British Youth Council to devise policy ideas on things like mental health and accessibility to propose to UK Government, and gained an ASDAN Youth Voice Award for my work
- I was a committee member of my hometown’s youth council (Impact), where I created and distributed a lot of information on safeguarding, mental health, and lockdown content, and helped to move operations online when the Covid-19 pandemic hit
- In college, I spent 2 years on my college council, arranging events like the leaver’s ball
- I’ve spent just under a year as News and Politics editor over at QMU’s student magazine (Qmunicate), writing about accessibility and queerness
In this role, I would focus on the usage of online means like the GULGBTQ+ Discord to ensure continued accessibility for the disabled community- as a society, strides were made in accessibility here during the Covid pandemic, and this could be really useful to keep going. I would do mini-meetups online in the disabled channel and advocate for more online stuff on the other channels, as well as keeping the in-person coffees, so those physically/ mentally unable to attend irl can still participate in society events. I would also work with the welfare officer to increase general inclusion and awareness- for example, using message reacts as a way to signal that somebody would like to be DM’ed by a committee member about a certain event due to something like a mental health issue, and something could be arranged them showing up early and hanging out with an identity officer beforehand. I would also like to do more events around disability- for example, an awareness panel similar to the ace one that was done, collaborating with other uni groups (the neurodiversity society, the SRC and student unions’ mental health campaigns, etc). I am also very cool and swaggy /j

AGM March 2022
AGM Candidates & Manifestos
Our AGM is on Wednesday 23rd March 2022 at 6pm!
2021/22 Constitution (for some info on the positions).
Candidate Form now closed. You can still run tonight at 6pm without filling out the form.
Updated: 23/3/22.
Currently no candidates: VP Treasurer, Gay Men's Officer, and First Year Officer.
-
President
1. Eva (she/they)
As your previous VP Treasurer, I have done mostly things that aren’t specifically tailored to my role, as our spending this year was limited. However, I believe I have done my best in organising events, leading our committee alongside Aster & Robyn, and supporting other committee member’s proposals. If I’m elected,
- I would encourage the use of our Discord server, which adds a safety element to students who aren’t out or are questioning their identities and sexualities, even as we move to in-person events
- I would foster our relationship with the unions of UofG, ensuring that real collaboration and not tokenism takes place
- I would continue to advocate for inclusivity in our society – especially regarding racialised and disabled members
- I would continue to listen to our member’s concerns and try to tap into the groups of students that engage less with our society (i.e. gay men, home students, etc.)
Moving towards next year, I would also do my best to liaise with other societies that align with our interests and would encourage slowly moving events to in-person being very conscious of the safety challenges that this can entail. I would like to follow the steps of previous committees in ensuring that historical events run smoothly, such as TDoR, Winter Ceilidh, LGBTHM, Queerfest and Farewell Cabaret. I feel that as a society, there are so many things that we can continue to do to embrace and welcome LGBTQ+ students into our community. I would be honoured if you voted for me as your President!
(Preference: President > Events Officer)
VP Secretary
1. Adrian (they/he)
Hello! Most of you might already know me from my last year spent on committee, but for those of you who don’t - I’m Adrian (they/he), 20 years old and just finishing my 2nd year of a Psychology degree. I started off on committee as International Officer a year ago and have been Welfare Officer since the start of this academic year, two roles which I greatly enjoyed. Throughout my time on committee, I’ve learned a lot about how things work, what I can contribute, and also just how much I enjoy being part of the committee as a collaborative space. By having the two different roles and getting involved in stuff beyond what my roles entailed, I understand what it’s like running coffees but also what goes into organising events well, as well as the amount of work that is required to keep the society up and running (including behind the scenes). I’d like to take on the role of VP Secretary because I am well-organised, reliable and good at looking ahead, which are qualities which I believe are needed for the duties and responsibilities of VP Sec. Additionally, I’ve been involved in organising and helping out with many of our events over the past year which I would love to take forward into the next year, especially as we might pivot to in-person events in the future which I know will pose new challenges for us who’ve mostly experienced uni in a pandemic. Finally, I have a lot of gratitude and appreciation for GULGBTQ+ as a whole, for being a source of community and friendships, so I wish to continue ensuring the society is as safe, welcoming and inclusive as possible from this new role. Thanks for your trust!
VP Treasurer
Currently no candidates.
Welfare Officer
1. Alex (they/them)
Hi, I’m Alex. I believe I would make a great welfare officer as I’ve had experience on GULGBTQ+’s committee as both first year and international officer, and am incredibly passionate about making GULGBTQ+ a safe space for all members. Having been on committee for the past year, I have become more familiar with the tasks and organisation required for this role, and I am confident in being a point of contact for any welfare issues in the society as well as supporting other identity officers in their roles. I would also love to become more involved in working with the University to improve queer, and all students’ welfare.
(Preference: Welfare Officer > Trans Officer)
Events Officer
Although I haven't been on committee while in-person events were held, I am sure that I can ask for help and with advice from previous committee members we could organize great events. If I’m elected,
- I would encourage the use of our Discord server, which adds a safety element to students who aren’t out or are questioning their identities and sexualities, even as we move to in-person events (with important safety and health considerations to be posed)
- I would make sure that events are accessible and inclusive to all
- I would follow the steps of previous committees and ensure that historical events (TDoR, Queerfest) run smoothly collaborating with Exec and the rest of the committee
- I would push for making the best use of the spaces and resources the Unions provide
I feel that as a society, there are so many events and activities that we can continue to run by and for our LGBTQ+ students. I would be honoured if you voted for me as your Events officer!
(Preference: President > Events Officer)
2. Lorelai (she/they)
In my undergraduate law school , right from my first year I was involved in helping out in organizing various events in law school, from fests to moot courts, and conferences. Years in law school taught me how to meet the most stringent of requirements, how to deal when an emergency comes up, how to keep it going despite the chaos that's thrown at you, and always having multiple backup options. Events do matter to our community, it's a way of bringing us together, we come together as a community with everyone pitching in their own unique ways to help the event happen, and of course the day of event itself that brings everyone together. I want to help and take initiative in organizing events that continue to foster a sense of community, invoke sense of belongingness, and ensure events exist as a safe space. Inclusivity and accessibility would go hand in hand, and take everyone's needs into account.
(Preference: POC Officer > Non-Binary Officer > International Officer > Events Officer)
Lesbian Officer
1. Rachel (They/She/He)
Hi everyone! I'm Rachel (they/she/he) and I'm a Politics and Psychology student. I've been the Lesbian officer for about 4 months now and I'm very excited to be running for re-election.
Over the past couple of months, I believe I have filled the role of lesbian officer well and shown that I possess the necessary qualities for the position, and I would love to be able to continue my work in the society and on the committee.
If elected, going forward I would love to plan and run a couple of coffees or other similar chill events over the summer to continue the society's safe place and atmosphere, and keep the discord active over the summer months. Furthermore, I would love to encourage the rest of the society to become more involved in the events by allowing non-committee members more opportunities to express what type of events they would like to see and provide feedback.
I really enjoy being part of the GULGBTQ+ committee and hopefully, you will consider re-electing me as the Lesbian officer.
Gay Men’s Officer
Currently no candidates.
Trans Officer
1. Alex (they/them)
Hi, I’m Alex! I’ve been on GULGBTQ+’s committee for the last year, both as first year and international officer. I therefore have experience with running coffees and events in the society which I look forward to continuing if elected for this role! I have also now attended two Trans Day of Remembrance events and intend to put all of my effort into making sure that the next TDOR, as well as Trans Awareness Week, goes forward successfully. I am particularly passionate about creating a welcoming community for trans people and those questioning their gender identity- I myself have done a lot of questioning and love having deep conversations about gender, so am very happy to be a point of contact and discussion for anyone who needs it! Despite only coming out as trans around a year and a half ago, I am dedicated to continually educating myself on trans issues and advocating for these in this role.
(Preference: Welfare Officer > Trans Officer)
2. Sam (he/they/it)
When I joined the committee as events officer it was mostly to fill a role. Not only did joining the committee lead me to making friends and feeling like I was contributing to a society that has helped me so much as a first year at university, but most importantly it gave me experience of being a part of the committee. With this experience I now feel ready to run for a position in which I will be able to contribute far more.
As a trans masc, non-binary person, my journey with my gender identity has been a long one and its not over yet. Years of self discovery have given me an understanding that will help me in this role. I love discussing and learning about trans identities, and will always be able to listen to those who may want to talk, be it someone questioning or someone certain of their own gender.
Having grown up in a small town where I had very little help or advice for a long time and I really want to be able to provide support for people within the society. I also have previous experience in roles including helping start my towns first GSA between schools, an opportunity which I will always be grateful for.
Most importantly, I am always willing to grow and learn in my role within the trans community, and this position will give me excellent opportunities to do so.
(Preference: Trans Officer > Bi & Pan Officer)
Postgraduate and Mature Student’s Officer
1. Kieran (he/they)
For anyone who does not know me, my name is Kieran, and I'm a postgraduate student studying an MSc in English Language and Linguistics. I am running for this position because I think it is very important that there be a PostMat officer over the summer, since many of us will be studying a third semester during that time. Below I have outlined my relevant experience, and my plan of action if I am elected:
Although I have no formal committee experience, I am used to organising social events over discord in both a formal and informal context. During the 2020-21 academic year, I assumed many of the responsibilities that would typically belong to a social secretary, and organised numerous in-person events at the Aberystwyth University Chess Club. I also established an informal club dedicated to the Japanese board game Shogi, and acted as its de-facto president, organising several online events and growing the club from scratch. I believe I am ready to take on the responsibilites of a full committee role.
If elected, my priority would be to ensure that all postgraduate and mature members of the society have the same access to support that they would expect throughout the usual academic year. Having experienced the better part of a postgraduate year myself, I feel well-placed to support both new and existing students with any concern or issue they may have, academic or otherwise. In a supportive role, I would always be happy to listen to any PostMat student in strict confidence, and to render whatever more formal support as may be necessary. My DMs on discord will always be open to anybody who needs to talk to me, and I am determined to show the same incredible support that has been shown to me in my time in GULGBTQ+.
I value immensely the PostMat channel in our discord server, and I would very much like to see it continue to function as a safe space for PostMat students to gather and support one another, as well as a potential social hub for those of us staying on for semester three. If elected, I would personally oversee the channel to ensure that it remains the safe and friendly space that I have found it to be in my time here
Finally, I would be open to organising social events in our voice channel over the summer. I know that for those of us who are staying in Glasgow, the prospect of many of our friends and classmates leaving for the break is a little sad. I would be happy to organise social events for anyone who wants to take part, whether they're staying here or going away for the summer.
Thank you to everyone for taking the time to read my manifesto and to consider me for this position. I am currently suffering from a bacterial infection, so my ability to attend the AGM is in doubt. I will make every effort to be there in person, but I am happy for another committee member to read this in my absence, should I be unable to attend.
Campaigns Officer
1. Jet (it/jests/stars)
Hi, my name is Jet and I'm running for campaigns officer. I believe I would be suited for this position as I'm a very passionate person, and would be very vocal and interested in any campaigns raised to my attention, and would raise campaigns of my own interest to the society. I'm very vocal about my beliefs, and do extensive research on things to shape my views, and feel like this would help me be able to make sure campaigns chosen are within our interest, and not pushing any harmful information.
Communications and Technology Officer
1. Alex/Ghost (he/they)
I've had a lovely time being part of committee already and would love to continue. I enjoy tinkering behind the scenes and being a part of this wonderful society. I would like to continue using the social media channels to promote our events and keep everyone up to date.
Bi and Pan Officer
I came out as bisexual when I was 13, and my journey of discovery has continued to this day. Every opportunity I got to connect with and talk to people like me has helped immensely and I hope that with this role I could provide support for those who need it in any way I can. I'm welcoming and open-minded so I hope I would always be someone that those within the bi/pan community could come to.
With my previous experience helping set up my towns GSA and more, I am well suited to the role and would look forward to contributing more to this society!
(Preference: Trans Officer > Bi & Pan Officer)
First Year Officer
Currently no candidates.
International Officer
1. Mars (they/them)
Hi! I'm Mars, a 1st year zoology student. I believe I'd be an excellent international officer as I've spent my entire life living in a wide range of countries, from Jordan to Spain. I moved from Madrid to Glasgow this year, and have lots of experience with the changes involved in moving countries. I therefore think I'd be able to support other international students, as I understand how daunting and isolating moving countries can be, especially as a queer person. I hope to create a community where international students can come together and share their cultures, whilst coming together as a queer community, too.
(Preference: Non-Binary Officer > International Officer)
2. Lorelai (she/they)
I am a Master's Student from India, and much of my experience as an international student has been a journey of learning new things everyday. Being an international student has made me realise how important it is to have a crucial system of support. For us queer international students having a system of support that looks into our needs makes a lot of difference. It's crucial to ensure that system of support continues to exist and evolves to address varying needs. During my time spent in the committee as the POC officer, I have realised that much of support is rooted in making things simpler, making person have ease of access to resources that they need, and above all feel like they are at home, where they no longer feel lost or unsure or confused, and are able to feel comfortable in this environment in their own terms. Also most important step for me is to make sure that students like us don't feel isolated, or left out, and much of my beliefs is rooted in helping each one of us be able to find a sense of community, a sense of belonging in Glasgow, in one's own terms. My chief plan of action primarily involves
Simplifying things. As queer international student I have always felt if I had easy access to resources that helped me understand what resources I could access when it comes to my transitioning, having access as to where to go exactly for mental health support, having access to where exactly one should go when it comes to sexual health and testing (it's Sandyford Sexual Health Clinic in West End). Basically in nutshell I do hope to create a system that acts like an informal 101 guide for international queer students at the uni at everything LGBTQIA related.
Ultimately I wish to create a need based system of support that addresses the unique and varying needs of international students, and is based on evolving based on their needs and wants.
(Preference: POC Officer > Non-Binary Officer > International Officer > Events Officer)
Asexual and Aromantic Officer
1. Emrys/Kallian/Cassian
* I’ve been an active member of the asexual community for a few years now, and more recently active as an aromantic person too
* I have been on this committee consistently as the Asexual/Aromantic Officer since October 2019, and I have immensely enjoyed taking part in this committee and being able to make a difference, so I would love to continue in this position for as long as I can
* I’ve run multiple events for asexual and aromantic awareness, giving informative presentations and hosting discussions on asexuality and aromanticism- most recently I did a presentation for Aro Awareness Week in February that went very well, we had a discussion after the presentation that was very engaging and informative
* I’ve put together many social media posts for asexual and aromantic awareness, sharing informative videos I’ve made on the topics, bits of interesting history about the identities as well as recommendations for books with asexual and aromantic representation
* I have also generally been helping plan and run main events with GULGBTQ+ and have a good track record of attendance to these events for the last three years
* I have been an active member of the community and working to raise awareness well before university as well- I took part in the LGBTQ+ society at my sixth form and helped running the events and informing students about the community- I also led a presentation for Asexual Awareness Week in collaboration with other sixth formers
* if I was re-elected for Ace/Aro Officer, I would continue my efforts in raising awareness for an identity that is less well known and understood than others- as I am personally very passionate about representation of minority identities- and always work to ensure ace and aro voices are promoted
* I like to think that I am an approachable person, so I am always open for a chat with anyone who is questioning their identity or just wants to know more about asexuality or aromanticism
Non-Binary Officer
1. Mars (they/them)
I've spent a significant portion of my life exploring my gender identity, and it has always played an important role in my life. I'd therefore like to be able to share my experiences to support other non-binary students, through as many means as possible. I'd like to continue the supportive community of non-binary students here in this society, created by committee members before me, whilst also contributing my own experiences and perspectives.
(Preference: Non-Binary Officer > International Officer)
2. Lorelai (she/they)
For me being Non-Binary has been a long journey of self exploration in terms of how I viewed my body and gender identity. I used to identify as a binary trans woman right from childhood till 2018. Much of mainstream social media discourse involving non binary identity was heavily focussed on the lily white transmisogyny exempt androgynous person as the main representation. A transfeminine person of colour was never the dominant representation, instead even if someone like me to be represented it was never representation really, it was one focused on shaming and ridiculing bodies and identities like mine for not conforming to the binary, for not being androgynous according to the white cis heteronormative norms, for not having bodies that ascribed to the white supremacist standards. When I came across Alok Vaid Menon and their works, I realised that my transfeminity was never binary, my non-binaryhood was valid. I realise much our representation is limited to narrow definition of "deemed as acceptable and palatable to cisnormative standards of androgyny". And this needs to be actively dismantled, destroyed, and thrown in the void where it belongs. My beliefs are rooted in reclamation of non-binary, for the bodies and identities that were shamed for the same, shamed for their race, for not being white, for bodies that never conformed to the mainstream white dominated standards of beauty. For me this position means creating a safe space, ensuring a safe space that focusses on particularly caring for those of us who never existed in conformity, for those of us who are marginalised, for those of us without privilege. Safe space where inclusivity is no longer a mere word, but rooted in radical action, to ensure that safe space strives to cater for the welfare of marginalised identities. From access to resources and opportunities and finding a sense of community, I want to support folks like me to find support for their needs and wants, a space that they can define in their own terms. A space where they feel heard, and needs are met. They are not only accepted, but are affirmed, where their identities are celebrated and able to exist as they wish to. I do also want to work at helping non-binary folks be able to find a sense of community in the city, by connecting them to communities that engage in things they enjoy - from sports by leapsports scotland to libraries and movies and access to mutual aid by Small Trans Library Glasgow. Much of my work would be building a support based model that works at community level, based on mutual aid and support that stems from the community. For it was community that helped me find joy and affirmation in being a non binary transfemme, and I would not have been where I am today without my community and it's support.
(Preference: POC Officer > Non-Binary Officer > International Officer > Events Officer)
3. Erin/Aren (they/them)
Hey folks, Im Erin/Aren and I’ve been the non-binary officer for GULGBTQ+ for the last year, and hope to be able to continue in this position.
My last year on committee gave me experience in running a well attended coffee which I would look forward to doing again with the new trans officer, hopefully being able to transition this back into an in person meet up in the coming year - I also helped to organise and run some great events such the presentation night, trans 101, and various quizzes.
I have also now attended two trans day of remembrance events, and helped to organise one of them, so I am acutely aware of how much preparation and planning goes into it. If I am re-elected I would like to be more heavily involved in the Tdor planning this coming year to help make sure everything runs smoothly.
I didn’t really start thinking about my own gender identity until I started university, and this society gave me a safe and encouraging place to do that. Being able to help create this environment for other trans and non-binary students, or anyone questioning their identity, has been one of my favourite parts of this role and one I am excited to continue. I think I’m pretty approachable, I’m a good listener and good at helping people talk through their thoughts and problems (and am always down for deep gender chats!) which makes me well suited to be a point of contact in this role.
In short, I really enjoyed my time on committee, I feel I was a good addition to the team, and I don’t feel like I’m done yet - I hope y’all agree!
People of Colour Officer
1. Lorelai (she/they)
Having been elected to this position since October 2021, being a People of Colour Officer has been a journey of learning and self reflection. During my time spent in the committee, from hosting coffees to helping organise society events I have learnt so much. And I do want to stand again for this position to be able to use what I have learnt from being in the committee to help support others like me. As I did say during my last election , it is still my ardent faith to continue working towards creating a safe space for LGBTQIA+ folks of colour within society as well as in the University. And my aim is to make support as accessible as possible to queer folks of colour. Most importantly I realised that as a trans femme of colour that how crucial it is to have a safe space and a system of support. And most important of all I want to work towards ensuring that the safe space for my community. I want to work towards creating that space where queer folks of colour can share their problems without any barriers and are able to have access to support that they need. And most importantly a safe space that gives them access to opportunities that they want for themselves be it anything, and should not face any barriers on basis of their gender , sexuality or race. Space where you are felt heard and affirmed.

Lesbian Officer
1. Rachel (she/they)
I'm passionate about inclusion and equity for all. I was a founding member of my high school's LGBTQ+ group, and I have the necessary skills and attitudes to make a great lesbian officer. I care about creating a safe and positive space for other lesbians as I believe that our issues are primarily similar to our LGBTQ+ peers but can often be uniquely challenging.
I also have three adorable cats that will no doubt join our weekly coffee events :)
2. Medha (she/her)
Greetings my fellow community members 💖 I am a lawyer from India pursuing masters in law at this university. As a lawyer, representation comes naturally to me. I would like to be elected to the position of the Lesbian Officer for I want to give back to my fellow community members by adding to it. I want to closely work with GULGBTQ+ and see what changes we could bring together, making this an even more working model. I find myself fit for this position because, (1) I have been an intersectional feminist even before I knew a term like this existed. (2) I am queer and I am here. (Nothing can beat this, yea?) (3) Being a lawyer, I understand the importance and significance of GULGBTQ+ constitution and I promise to abide by every article of it and put a motion to amend a provision, Suo - Moto or upon request, if it comes to it. (4) I am approachable as a being and I am sure my community will be able to come to me with requests and issues whenever they need to, without any hesitation. If given this opportunity I'd see to it that (1) There are more meet ups and events organised, especially with the next semester being in person (congratulations to us all and how good is that?) 😄 (2) I would encourage creation of space for active communication and support. I'd like to do this in coordination with the Events officer and others. (Thanking you in advance) I shall do this by associating specific agendas to the meet ups and making sure these are regularly held. (3) I have many plans (promising and exciting both) if I am given this opportunity. I'd love to put emphasis on how exciting the plans are. To begin with, let's have a secret Santa letter box this Christmas? (I am aware it's not an entertainment officers position but hey! Let's warm up first before moving to ground breaking exercises? There's a lot I am wanting to do and whatever I shall do will be with dedication, promise and honesty. Thank you for reading!!! Please do vote for me, I am sure you all like someone who does their job perfectly well and adds a hint of humour to it,no? Haha! Go, vote vote! May you have an excellent time at the university. ☺️
Trans Officer
1. Evie (she/her)
Hi, as you’re most likely aware. I’m running for the position of trans officer. I’m a first year student doing my degree in marine and freshwater biology, I go by Evie and use she/her pronouns. I have some experience in roles such as this, with a stint as head boy during my last year of primary school. Which was obviously multiple years and a whole different set of pronouns ago. My main goal in this position would be to help other transgender members within our community feel both welcome and supported throughout their time at the University of Glasgow. While the facilities currently in place for gender neutral use are a massive step towards creating a welcoming environment; I believe that some aspects of the current situation to be disheartening. And in particular I would like to work with the pre-existing members of the committee to petition the GUSA on the matter of gender neutral facilities within the Stevenson Building. Thank you for your time and I hope you consider me for this role.

Meet the Committee
We have 15 committee members who work together to run the society;
1. President: Chris, He/Him, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hey! I’m Chris and I’m your president this year! I’m a second year student studying English Lit & Sociology, and I’m really excited to do some wonderful things with the society this year, it’s definitely one of my favourite things about university. I’ll be your first port of call if you have any general enquiries, ideas or requests for the society, but feel free to email me if you want some advice or to chat or meet up before an event too! We try to make our society as accessible and welcoming as possible, but I know that attending an event for the first time can be scary, so it is always good to know a friendly face.
Outside of the society you can mainly find me watching terrible romcoms, looking after my plants and tweeting bad jokes. I’m pretty noticeable out and about on campus as i’m always wearing dungarees and eternally glittery so don’t be afraid to say hi! (I’m nice I promise)
2. VP Secretary: Kit, They/Them, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Howdy, I’m Nadia and I’m the Secretary VP! I’m a second year Scottish Literature student but I’ve changed my degree so many times that I may be studying something completely different by the time you’re reading this (basically I’m mainly at university for GULGBTQ+). In my free time I’m usually crafting, watching movies, and maintaining meticulous power points on the pets of US presidents. If you have any queries about anything to do with the society or you just want a chat feel free to email or drop me a message on facebook.
3. VP Treasurer: Finn, They/Them, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hey I’m Finn, I use they/them pronouns and I’m vp treasurer! The society is the only reason I ever leave the house, but I do supposedly study English Lit & History of Art. I’m very excited to be back on committee this year and hope I can do my best to keep the society from being as broke as I am xx
4. Events: Rachel, She/Her, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hi everyone! I'm Rachel and I'm overly excited to be your Events Officer for this year. I study Theatre and Sociology and will be in my 4th year and writing my dissertation this coming year so please be kind to me. I have been a member of the Committee since my first year and I am overall just a huge gay. When I'm not being a queer activist you can find me at gigs, in charity shops, on the polo dance floor or drinking £3 wine. Let's be friends, feel free to add me on Facebook "Rachel Aitken" or drop me an email, I'm more than happy to meet up before an event if you're feeling nervous or want a gay clubbing partner in crime, I'm just back from studying abroad for a year in Australia so want to meet all the new faces I can! Also if you have any event suggestions pls hit me up xxx
5. Campaigns: Carlie, She/Her, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hello! I’m Carlie and I’m a second year student studying history and sociology. I can usually be found on the tenth floor of the library despairing about Tocqueville, but other than that I cross-stitch and try to keep all my house plants alive. Feel free to email me, or DM me on Twitter (@carliejas) about any campaigns you think we should support or just to give me gardening tips.
6. Welfare: Maddy, She/Her, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Maddy, pronouns she/her I’m a second year med student and I’m 24 I like playing rugby and meeting people’s pets, and I am very excited to be welfare officer this year I’m very open to questions and suggestions so feel free to drop me an email or come find me crying in the library
7. Publicity: Sera, She/Her, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hi, my name is Sera, I’m 20, I’m very trans, and I’m the publicity officer. I am in 2nd year of a computer science degree and I am extremely online. My main interests are in tech and managing systems, as well as automation, and I do most of the behind-the-scenes work for the society that involves an internet connection
I run in a lot of hobby as well as LGBT circles and you’ll rarely find me off of social media, I have a twitter @seraxis and a discord Sera ♪#0573 where you can bother me as much as you’d like. I take ideas for social media campaigns and how to spread further awareness about LGBT issues around campus and through the society.
But most importantly: I never stop posting.
8. Women’s: Jemma, She/Her, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hey I'm Jemma, I'm a fourth year Virology student and I am really excited to be your women's officer for this year.  I love going to gigs, baking, creating memes that only about 4 people find funny and tweeting them, and most of all: the Boyd Orr. You be able find me at most main events as well as during Lesbian Coffee and Knit the Rainbow, the GULGBTQ+ crafting group that I’ll be running this year. This society has been very important to my time at university and I want others to have as good an experience as I did so if you want to chat or want to meet up before an event contact me via email. Hope we all have a gay old time this year!
9. Men’s: Quinn, He/Him, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hi, I’m Quinn and I’m your mens officer. I am going into my third year studying economic & social history and have been going to society events since I started uni although this is my first time on committee. I am here for all men, male-aligned and questioning members of the society. I spend most of my time trying to work, watching films and Netflix and I love spending time with new people – and dogs, dogs are great. If you have any queries, questions, ideas or concerns please feel free to contact me via email. I look forward to this being the best year yet!
10. Non-Binary: Niamh, They/Them, [email protected]
Tumblr media
hi, I'm Niamh and I'm the nonbinary officer! I'm 19 and in second year studying psychology & neuroscience. I've been in the society for a year now and hope to help make next year even better. As nonbinary officer I want to make sure everyone feels welcomed, so feel free to drop me a message if you want to meet up before an event or just have a chat! Outside of being gay my hobbies include art, clown makeup, new wave, and kendo. I look forward to spending time with you all next year, let's make it a good'n!
11. Trans & Intersex: Noah, He/Him, [email protected]
Tumblr media
What's up, I'm Noah, I'm your trans and intersex officer! I'm currently studying maths (rip me) and I’m in second year. My job as trans and intersex officer is to represent all things gender related! My hobbies include playing the drums & guitar, and doing my signature dance moves in polo. I am open and friendly so if you want a chat or need anything feel free to contact me. I look forward to working on committee and meeting lots of new cool people!!
12. Bi/Pan: Michael, They/Them, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hi, I'm Michael your bi/pan officer for the year. I'm 21 and a biochemistry student in third year. I know - queer people in science! I'm shocked too! I look forward to meeting everyone at
bi/pan coffee (the coolest coffees, as voted by me).
My hobbies include a love of musical theatre, sci-fi, drinking and making a fool of myself for my friends. If you'd like to talk to me about literally anything you can use email, Facebook or twitter or pretty much any other social media cause that's where is spend most of my life anyway.
13. International Students: Bianca, She/Her, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hi! I’m Bianca, and I’m the new international students’ officer! I’m a small, almost 19-year-old Italian who studies English Language and Linguistics & Theatre Studies. When I’m not crying about English phonetics, I’m probably binge-watching some (gay) show on Netflix, or getting more emotionally invested than I should in some (gay) book, while listening to the soundtrack of some (gay – but do I even need to say it?) musical. I’m a Gryffindor, I like horse riding, theatre and ice skating, and my one life aspiration is to one day ride a dragon. Or turn into a dragon and destroy my enemies. Either one works. I promise, I’m actually a nice and approachable person and I understand that moving to a new country can be overwhelming, so I’m ready to help you with whatever you need if you feel like you need advice on how to adapt to the terrible Scottish weather or you just want to chat about how un-comprehensible the Glaswegian accent is (trust me, we’ve all been there). Just send me an email! I’m also Italian, so I will probably gesture excitedly at you while we all get coffee together for the International Coffee that I’ll be running. I’m looking forward to meeting you all, and I hope you have a great (and gay) time in Glasgow!
14. Postgraduate & Mature Students: Prachi, She/Her, [email protected]
Hello everyone! I’m Prachi and I am the Postgraduate and Mature students officer this year. I represent the slightly older members of the society. I will mainly be running the postgrad and mature student coffees this year, which is a great way to meet new people in the LGBTQ+ community! I am currently doing a Masters in Cancer Sciences. Other than spending time on school and the society, I also enjoy videogames, movies (huge Disney junkie!), music and just generally chilling with people. If you’d like to contact me, you can find me on Facebook or just shoot me an email anytime. Looking forward to meeting everyone!
15. First Year Ordinary Member: Emily, She/Her, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hi! I'm your friendly local First Year Ordinary Member. My name is Emily and I'm a first year (surprise, surprise) Psychology student trying to work out my way around this strange Uni system. I enjoy drawing and painting, musical theatre, playing tabletop or video games, being a 'Mum friend', and making socially awkward jokes to hide when I'm nervous. I'll be spending this year joining all the societies that I've been told I HAVE to join in first year, trying to get on with the nine strangers I now live with, attempting to cook, clean and shop for myself, and also somehow keeping up with the work from three subjects which grade me in a way I've never seen before...
No pressure, right?
I hope you will join me in solidarity at First Year Coffee every other Tuesday and we can help each other navigate this strange new world of Glasgow University.
16. Asexual and Aromantic Officer: Summer, They/Them, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hi, I’m Summer and I’m your aro/ace officer for the year! I’m a 21 year old computer science student so you’ll frequently find me programming and going on about Linux. When I’m not doing that I’ll probably be knitting, playing video games, running/planning tabletop rpgs, or watching martial arts movies (or talking incessantly about any of the above)! As aro/ace officer I’m here for everyone who identifies as any variety of asexual and/or aromantic (a/grey/demi/etc), as well as anyone questioning anything at all related. Drop me a message if you want to chat, and I look forwards to a great year with you all!

EGM candidates
Our EGM is on October 9th, 2020. If you would like to run for any position, please fill out this form https://forms.gle/EMdnNa7Nr7ybah7E6! We will be updating this list as responses come in.
VP Secretary
1) Robyn (they/them)
GULGBTQ+ has been a real lifeline for me (like many others) since I started university and especially now in my 3rd year in the middle of a pandemic. And so I would love to be VP Sec to give back, support and uplift the community that’s had my back and been my safe space for the last few years.
I previously spent some time as Non-Binary officer last year so I already have an insight into the on-goings of the society. And I also attended Trans and Non-Binary coffees nearly every week. As VP Sec I would want to give more attention and accessibility to POC, disabled, and trans students in particular, especially right now.  I would love to continue to work with the SRC and GUSocNet in particular, and reach out to others also. As a home student, I know the importance of having a network and so I would love to keep strengthening the network we have built as a community and expanding it. But of course most importantly working alongside our already amazing exec and committee to put ideas into motion. (And maybe make a zine or two ya know).
I realise the massive responsibility that is being part of the exec but I’m more than willing to rise to that challenge this year. Overall I want everyone to feel like they have a safe space within the society and that this is their community too. It would be a joy to be your VP Sec this year and continue to help carry on the community we have here! :) (And stay safe!)
2) Liam (he/him)
I’d be the right candidate as since I’ve joined I’ve been active in the society whether it be events or discussions going on in the server. This is important as there always has to be an open channel for discussion and chat no matter the topic. Being the VP Secretary is a big undertaking and in that i'd love to be able to chat to you all whether it be in coffees, direct messages, or an anonymous poll every now and again to find out what direction you want the society to move in. The priorities of a society are fluid in a changing world and I believe i'd be the one to step up and give people the voice to help us steer in the right direction
Events Officer
1) Robyn (they/them)
As Events Officer, I would love to continue the work previous folk have done over the last few years in running more accessible and ever creative events. Moreover this would be incredibly important with the on-going Covid situation and I would love to have the challenge of creating new events with the committee and in the society to adapt to the new online environment. To find new ways of fundraising for the society and also making online events just as exciting as in-person events were. I’m a very creative, inventive and adaptable person thanks to my degree, the projects I do outside of university and work I did with charity events back at school. Last year, I spent some time as Non-Binary officer, attending trans & non-binary coffees throughout the year and so I have a decent idea of running events already in the society. I would strive to continue to make events more accessible and welcoming to POC, international and disabled students etc., and also manage the issues that previous years may have had by taking on constructive feedback consistently. In all, I want to create a space and event for everyone by solidifying communication inside the society and outside the society.
Communications and Technology Officer
1) Evelyn (they/them)
I’m a social and economic history student. I have found it really valuable to meet people through GULGBTQ especially the craft group. I really don't know what I'd have been able to do otherwise as I found it quite difficult making friends etc when I first came to Glasgow last year. On that note I would like to contribute to the society... Mostly I'd really like to improve the website e.g. the calendar is in need of a bit of TLC!
2) Liam (he/him)
As a technologically oriented person, I believe I would be able to do the Communications and Technology role justice by setting up regular channels for communication. The website as cute as it may be is dated and could do with a freshen up. This is however easier said than done, after evaluating with everyone what priorities for it we should have the slow process of neatening it can begin. To bring people to any events, the weekly announcements message could be posted on the page along with a link to the Discord server. The page is a representation of what we do as a society yet it lays bare with nought but who is on the committee and manifestos of who would like to be. Be gay do crime, thanks for listening.
Men’s Officer
1) Ethan (he/him)
Hi, I’m Ethan - a graduate and now first year medical student, who has been involved in student representation as some kind of liberation officer for the past 4 or 5 years. I came out as transgender in 2016, and since then have openly shared my transition and experiences on a small YouTube channel. I’m tired of the narrative that as a trans man I am not a “real” man, and the barriers faced by transmasculine individuals in accessing things that are typically put down as 'feminine' needs (sanitary bins - I’m looking at you!). I am incredibly keen to push for change in the teaching of healthcare subjects, so that it is less awkward accessing things such as cervical smears and menstrual care, and that healthcare teaching in general stops being focused from a cis-het viewpoint. Whilst that may be one of my personal main focuses, wider campaigns and work around challenging stigmas particularly associated with men’s mental health and sexual health is really important. So I’d want to make sure there is involvement in these too.
2) Liam (he/him)
GULGBT+ has so far done a great job of having everyone feel accepted and have a space to chat but at the moment there isn't a Mens Officer and from anecdotal experience there is a significant lean in the societies demographic to female students at least in terms of activity in the society. My aim as this years Mens Officer would be to make the society a welcoming place for all, whether this is through running events directed towards those who aren't aware of the society or aren't aware of its purpose.
International Officer
1) Alexandra (she/her)
After moving to the UK last year, there were so many new things that I had to learn and there was plenty of confusion and mistakes along the way. Now that I've settled in and I feel comfortable as a resident of Scotland, I would love to have the opportunity to give advice and guidance to those who are still figuring things out, or are just looking for solidarity during a difficult adjustment period. It can be so disorienting and isolating to leave behind your family and friends to move to a new country, and I hope to let some folks know that they're not alone and they can talk to me and all the other wonderful people in GULGBT. This club made a huge difference for me in this regard, and I want to make sure others get that opportunity as well!
2) Pat (they/them)
I've been an international student in different countries over the years and it's had a profound impact on how I can conceptualize and relate my own queer identity. Listening to and supporting each other as international students who are far from home and potentially in a very different situation culturally and linguistically is so important, when it comes to LGBTQIA+ issues as well as the bureaucratic and everyday. I want to make sure that the society is providing a space for international students and potentially make connections with other societies for international students to reach new members and share resources.
First Year Ordinary Member
1) Ethan (he/him)
Hi, I’m Ethan - a graduate and now first year medical student, who has been involved in student representation as some kind of liberation officer for the past 4-5years. Having already spent a fair bit of time getting to know many of the LGBT+ freshers’ community at UofG this year, I’d love to be able to act as a linked voice for them to help make sure they still manage to have a great first year’s experience. This certainly wasn’t the year anyone expected, and I’m really keen to try and help make the best of what we can so everyone has a positive start to their course.
Postgraduate and Mature Students’ Officer
1) Ethan (he/him)
Hi, I’m Ethan - a graduate and now first year medical student, who has been involved in student representation as some kind of liberation officer for the past 4-5years. From completely relaunching my previous university’s LGBT+ society, to starting its first separate dedicated group for trans students, and being elected as the first trans rep for students across Scotland… my undergrad was busy! I’m really keen to bring the experiences I’ve had, and lessons I’ve learned, with me to GULGBT+ and get involved through my next 5years studying at UofG. Being a postgrad and/or mature student comes with its own unique challenges and I want to work with the committee, SRC, and wider university to make sure you are well supported in achieving all the things you want to whilst still being able to balance everything you have going on outside of university. Aside from that, something I am keen to work on during my time studying medicine, is making the curricula of healthcare subjects more inclusive of LGBT+ patient scenarios and education.
2) Pat (they/them)
Community is really important to me and has become even more so since the suspension of in-person meetings. When I came to Glasgow last year, I found that the vast majority of people I met through freshers events and societies were a good few years younger than me and it seemed like I was the only postgraduate/mature student around. I would like to continue facilitating a space for postmat students in the society and ensure that people older than the average student will feel welcome and at home in the society.

Happy trans day of visibility! I'm trans! I’m also (intentionally) visible. It’s a choice that I made. I decided to start shouting my transliness from (a selections) of roof tops. Despite this, I'm more than my (lack of) gender. I'm also a tiramisu enthusiast, dog lover, mathematician, and amateur furniture maker.

Cameron (she/her) I am a transgender 3rd year chemical physics student at Glasgow University. I am still not 100% out, and often worry about how my future will be affected by transition, with my job, my family, my partner and my friends. Perhaps to distract myself from constant worry, I sit on the committees of two societies, the Cecilian Society and Student Volunteers Abroad. I am planning to run for President of SVA next year; I think volunteering has a lot of stigma around it, and want to have an honest conversation about what positive and negative aspects international volunteering has. I also am a keen climber, going bouldering at TCA whenever I can afford it. In the summer I am very excited about an internship with Arqiva down south working on telecommunications tech. I am constantly busy, and while it often seems I have too much to do to deal with the stresses of transition, it is nothing compared to the stresses of not transitioning.

Hello I'm Ash, I use they/them or He/him pronouns and I'm GULGBTQ+'s keenest non-student for 2016/17 who's spent the whole day being outside the house and somehow people could see me, that's what Trans day of visibility does I guess 😉 I'm Transmasculine and currently awaiting an appointment for T but I've got lots of things keeping me a fully rounded human in the meantime! I'm a huge nerd with a passion for theatre and animation and hopefully I'll be doing acting at city of Glasgow college in August!!

Okay, so I've accepted my offer, but the making new friends thing is freaking me out. I can talk for Britain but I'm socially awkward. I wouldn't know the first thing about joining a group and meeting people I identify with. I mean I've never had the chance. I just thought i could ask for advice on how to approach joining certain communities such as this one in my first year of Uni? Ta x
Hi! Sorry for the slow reply
Many societies have events during freshers week aimed at new students (we certainly do), we certainly do. We also understand that you’re probably nervous about joining the soc and going to uni in general (we’ve all been there), so we attempt to be somewhat chill, we also do our best to make you feel comfortable at our events. If you’d like, one of our committee can meet you before an event and go to it with you (just message us about buddying).
It’s not just big events that we do, we also have several small, chilled out meet ups per week which you might want to check out.
I hope this helps and we’d love to see you in September
Best wishes,
Jay

Meet the Committee 2019/20
We have 16 committee members who work together to run the society:
1. President: Maddy, She/her, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hi, my name's Maddy, I use she/her pronouns, and I'm the current president of gulgbtq+! I'm a third year medical student and I was the previous welfare officer. I spend most of my time hanging out with my rat, hiding in the library, and doing things with gulgbtq+. I'm a chatty gal and I love meeting new people, so feel free to scream with me about Troye Sivan/Hayley Kiyoko/Charli XCX anytime.
If you have any questions or ideas, hit me up! I'm very excited to be a part of the society this year and engage with all our members ❤
2. VP Secretary: Quinn, He/Him, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hi I'm Quinn and I am your secretary this year for GULGBTQ+. I am an economic and social history student who has been going to GULGBTQ+ events since my first moment in Glasgow. I enjoy poetry, comedy and films, and dogs, dogs are good. Can't wait to see you at events! If you ever want to message myself or the committee with any questions, suggestions or comments I can be reached at [email protected], see you soon!
3. Treasurer: Emily B, She/Her, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hi! I’m Emily, the new VP Treasurer! I’m 21, use she/her pronouns, and am proudly bisexual. I’m currently in 4th year, studying history (dissertation time, yikes!) I’ve been part of the society over the last year, and it’s been one of the best parts of my university experience. I’ve made new friends, increased my self-confidence, and had tons of good gay times! Outside of the society, I enjoy going to gigs, caring for my many houseplants, and taking too many naps. I’m excited for my role on committee this year, although you know what they say about gays and maths! I’m constantly on social media, so feel free to drop me a bell if you have any questions or queries! I’m on twitter @_emilybarton. Hope to see you at an event soon :-)
4. Welfare: Bianca, She/he, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hello! My name is Bianca and I'm the Welfare Officer of GULGBTQ+. I'm a small twenty-year-old Italian and I am a third year English Language & Linguistics and Theatre Studies student. I spend most of my free time reading, crying over Shakespeare, or bingeing the latest gay shows on Netflix, and the rare times I decide to go outside and try sports I enjoy horse riding and ice skating. I'm a gryffindor and I'm very excited to be back on committee this year, so feel free to drop me an e-mail for anything you might need!
5. Events: Emily T, She/Her, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hi everyone! My name's Emily (Tunstall) and this year I'm really excited to be the Events Coordinator for GULGBTQ+! I'm a second year Psychology Student and in my free time I like drawing, painting, making new friends, and spending time with this society. ❤
Please feel free to say hi to me online or in person, I will almost always be wearing my Docs and at least one badge, be it on my bag or my denim jacket, if you need help recognising me. I'm always open for a good chat, to offer some advice, or if you just need some directions around Uni! I would really love to see you at our events on a Wednesday, or at one of our coffees during the week. 🌈🌈🌈
6. Women’s: Claire, She/Her, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hi, I'm Claire, and I'm your women's officer! I'm a third year in Microbiology. Ask me about worms. Sometimes I think I'm not a stereotype but then I remember I have two cats, a Hozier-centric Spotify, and build furniture for a hobby.
I'm so excited for another great year! One of the things I love about this society is that it's an inclusive space for all women, and I want to make everyone feel welcome. If you have any comments, questions, or concerns (or just want to chat) feel free to shoot me a message!
8. Trans: Cassidy, They/Them, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hey, I'm Cassidy (they/them) the new Trans officer! I'm 20 and a third year studying Classics and History. I'm a nonbinary trans woman and I'm here to represent trans people and help people with gender related things generally 🙂
Aside from being gender, I am a roller skating gamer who makes stuffed toys and loves history more than life itself. I'm looking forward to running coffee and having a great year with everyone 🙂
9. Postgraduate and Mature Students: Kyle, He/Him, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hey, hi, hello! I’m Kyle, a postgraduate Astrophysics student who’ll be your first PostMat Officer for this year! Avid Karaoke Fan and Polo R&B Room Resident, I’ll usually be found out and about when I’m not studying (procrastinating). My aim for the time that I’m here is to try and get more LGBTQ+ Postgraduate and Mature students involved with GULGBTQ+.
I haven’t been in Glasgow for very long, so I’m excited to share the experience of things like Glasgow Pride with you all! I’m also hoping to run some smaller gatherings (like the current PostMat Coffees) over the summer for those of us who will need a break from our dissertations. If any PostMat students have ideas to share or any concerns to raise, please don’t be afraid to email.
10. Campaigns: Jo, They/He, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hi, I’m Jo and I’m your Campaigns Officer! I’m a postgraduate research student in English Language & Linguistics with a particular love for all things to do with LGBTQ+ linguistics. I’m a big fan of knitting, baking, indoor bouldering and playing D&D, and I’m also involved with the English Language & Linguistics Society. I was Campaigns Officer the year before last in 2017/2018, but I just couldn’t stay away, and now I’m back for some more campaigning!
As Campaigns Officer, my role is to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ issues in the society, on campus, and in the wider world. In the past, I’ve helped run campaigns to increase awareness of trans people on campus and to encourage local hairdressers and barbers to be inclusive of their LGBTQ+ customers. This year, I hope to revitalise these campaigns and work with our other officers and members of the society to create some exciting new ones!
Please feel free to contact me if you’d like to get involved in campaigning or have any ideas that you’d like to share with me!
11. Communications and Technology: Summer, They/Them, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hi, I’m Summer and I’m the Communications and Technology Officer for the year! I’m a 5th year computing science student (yes, that kind of transfem!) so you’ll frequently find me programming, tinkering with Linux or providing tech support for someone. When I’m not doing that I’ll probably be knitting, playing video games, running tabletop rpgs or watching martial arts movies (or talking about how I don't have time for any of the above)!
As the recently renamed Communications and Technology officer (formerly Publicity) I'm mostly here for you to tell me why the website or mailing list doesn't work, so feel free to get in touch with any complaints and/or constructive criticisms. I hope to have a great year with you all, hopefully with a better website!
12: First Year Ordinary Member: Jenny, She/Her, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hiya!  I’m Jenny and I’m the interim first year representative on the GULGBTQ+ committee.  I’m going into second year studying biomedical engineering and in my free time I enjoy drawing, making soup, and loving my gf.  I met wonderful friends and made loads of good gay memories through the society in my first year and am excited to help as many freshers as possible join in on the fun this year!  I’m passionate about creating a loving and accepting community for all LGBTQ+ students, especially new ones, since I know how hard it can be to settle in.  If you’re a fresher and have any ideas, questions, or just want to make a new friend, please don’t hesitate to send me an email!
13: Bi/Pan: Valentine, They/ve, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hi I'm Niamh, you may recognise me as last year's nonbinary officer! I use they/them pronouns, I'm 20 and a 3rd year psychology student. This'll be my 3rd year in the society and I love it with my whole heart. If you have any issues feel free to email me or message me on Facebook (Niamh Conlan). My first and foremost want is for those coming to the society and bi events to feel comfortable and welcomed!
When I'm not being a disaster bisexual I'm dying my hair, applying clown makeup, dancing to new wave or doing kendo. I'm excited to meet you all and hope to have a great year with everyone!
14. International Students: Judith, She/they, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hi! I’m Judith, I’ve been described as “the lesbianest person I know” by my flatmate and if you ask me where I’m from, I’m likely to name three countries, so I guess it makes sense that I’d be your international officer. I’m a third year psychology and statistics student who likes to avoid studying by going swordfighting (yes, I own an actual sword, but don’t worry, I only use it against transphobes) or putting on facepaint before a metal gig. But don’t get the wrong impression, I’m actually a very quiet person who’s always there to listen or give you advice. Feel free to message me on Facebook (Judith AN), send me an email or just come talk to me during the international coffees I’ll be running!
15. Aromantic and Asexual: Lo, They/Them, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hello! I’m Leilo (they/them), 20, and happy to be the ace/aro officer! My job is to represent people who are (or are questioning if they are) on the spectrums of being aromantic or asexual, so feel free to email me! As ace/aro officer I host biweekly coffees so aros, aces, and those who are questioning, can come together.
I’m a second year Maths student but will probably add philosophy as my second main subject. Aside from sitting over Math problems for way longer than seems necessary, you will find me writing, working out, or philosophising about bdsm.
16: Non-binary: Robyn, They/Them, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Salut! I’m Robyn and I’m the Non-Binary Officer. I’m a 2nd Year French/History student and I was born in Glasgow - I’m like a rare pokemon. I only resurrect during Eurovision season and have a hoard of sunglasses. And I’m a massive comic book nerd (yes I am Batman’s sidekick on the side).
I’m always down for a chat and feel free to DM me with anything from issues, to memes! I’m very excited to be your Non-Binary boi this year!!
