7: what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?
boring answer, dream (his cc counts as fandom to me /gen). it’s also a little bit of canon due to the finale, but I realized before that when I found out how inhabitable 90% of his fandom is because they’re cc stans
however, for choose violence answer I’m going to say both fundy and ghostbur. I don’t really hate their characters, but I hate talking about them which is a large part of enjoying characters for me.
for fundy, he just doesn’t really get discussed outside of his comedic moments. it’s either that or a small group of people who hate him. before researching for an au (the election one we’ve discussed :]), i didn’t even realize fundy had lore besides being Wilbur’s failson /hj
for ghostbur, it’s very similar. except for discussions specifically about his dynamics with other characters, he’s mainly just an extension of tommy & rev1vebur’s arcs. I think his flaws and obsessions get lost in translation, which is frustrating because I think that concept of his happier demeanor vs how he weaponizes it in stressful moments is the most interesting part of him. this one is to a much lesser extent though, because he still gets analysis
16: you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)
oh I talk about this a lot; WHOLESOME DAPDUO. I ship them, but there’s a lot of content for them that just glosses over how imbalanced the dynamic is. to me, it doesn’t feel like dapduo when they’re both so happy-go-lucky. I actually do like some wholesome stuff, but only if it’s like after a quackity redemption arc

honestly, the debates on if phil’s a good dad. a lot of topics cause big arguments, but any time I see a phil apologist against a phil hater I expect an airstrike /j. I don’t follow his character much so I don’t have much of an opinion on it though lmao, I think he tries his hardest in the super important things but a lot still slips through the cracks and he might not realize how important they are.

ok now that i know there’s a lil group of people on tumblr dot com who fit my target demographic, allow me to introduce yall to open arms, my gay little au where the fiances+dapduo+wilbur all get their happily ever after<3 (featuring multiple trans/nonbinary characters, autistic characters, and So Much polyamory!) i post updates/memes/snippets here under the tag las nevadas polycule and on my twitter as well!
quick summaries of each installment under the cut!
the first fic in the series is it’s not a leap of faith if you don’t trust the jump, where quackity meets charlie and everything changes as he falls in love<3 once newly revived wilbur is added to the mix, quackity has to decide if he can let himself fall for people again after being ghosted by his fiances.
next up is like you were never gone, or as i used to call it, the fiances reunion fic! karl’s travels have been taking quite a toll on his memory, and when he forgets quackity entirely, sapnap runs into their missing fiance and begs him to come to kinoko to help. when karl eventually disappears on another time traveling adventure, quackity takes sapnap home to las nevadas to meet his new partners. jealousy, insecurity, and miscommunication ensues, but in the end everything works out for the best.
the third main fic in the series is walk towards love, where the fiances are finally getting married, but nothing ever goes simply for them. quackity is still dealing with past trauma, karl’s mind is fuzzy as ever, and all sapnap wants is for his best friend to be at his wedding. cue: prison abolition, mental illness, and quackity facing down a god for his loved ones. twice.
the bonus tracks are a fun selection of scenes that update pretty regularly and help flesh out the world of this au! there’s a bit of everything: polyamory negotiations, extra interstitial scenes from main fics/alternate povs, and backstory tidbits!
annnd speaking of backstory... to think that we could stay the same tells the story of how wilbur met sally, and how an ancient spirit of the sea fell in love<3

i haaate the las nevadas finale so much . i feel like dapduos friendship arc was already showing q unlearning his bad mindsets and slimes 'death' was a good catalyst for him to make a change in slimes memory. and then they have him make a goo army as a coping mechanism and get told he's a bad friend by the ONE guy who wholeheartedly believed in him??? that should've broken him fr, not lead to his bittersweet ending. and they never even got to have on-screen gay sex !!!!!!

so when i was in primary school (cause ingerland innit), we called our gym/pe shoes daps. so you can obviously imagine i was VERY confused as to why charlie and quack are called dap duo because. tf are these guys doin with fuckin shoes. i completely forgot about ALL of the dap me up jokes and just immediately went to fucking shoes. fml
