There is a noticeable lack of Warhammer 40k Cross Stitching, and I seem to be the only person worried about this. In an attempt to combat this grave injustice, I made some smol 60x60 patterns from my favorite 40k book, Steve Parker's Deathwatch. I call it the Killteam Talon Collection. For free, GW, chill!

Making an account with stitchfiddle is not neccessary, but it's a good software. Try it. If only it weren't subscription based, but one purchase. Nah, let's not get into that.

“Reap What You Sew” 🪡🧵
Down, Down, Down Below
What pity, what shame, but they reaped what they sewed
Down, Down, Down Below
Oh Woe, Oh Woe, but they reaped what they sewed
Spend the rest of their after days in their guilt and sorrows, with all the pain that follows….
But don’t blame me sillies. You chose to be monsters.

A lot of contemporary textiles and embroidery comments on its history of being dismissed as feminine craft, rather than art. I was thinking of my own place doing embroidery as a classic bloke, and what the masculine equivalent of needlework might be- which I thought of as Warhammer. Warhammer 40k is the archetypal grimdark violent male fantasy, yet the actual practice of painting is a quiet and reflective activity, producing tiny objects that might be cute if they werent studded with armor, guns and grimaces.
To render violent male fantasy and male-craft history in needlework feels like a fun idea.
The only thing is, it is taking so long- if I spent the next four weeks just on this, I could finish it, but I need to make some other things

Lamenters Mini Sigil
Courtesy of Chayron Amadeus Chyropheles, Last of the Lamenters, best suicidal Dreadnought, backbone of Killteam Talon and one of my favorite characters.
This is the prototype of a selfmade pattern on 16ct. with 2 strands, better version available here for free. Please share. Grimdark crafting is very close to my heart.

Ultramarines Mini Sigil
Curtesy of Ignatio Solarion, sniper, prodigy, "Prophet", jealous bitch and as some redditor once put it "proof that not even Black Library writers like the Ultramarines."
Cross stitch on 16 ct. aida in an 8cm hoop
Free Pattern made by me
I spliced two skeins of 820 that were noticably different shades of blue, which resulted in a slightly less flat background.
Also DMC 820 is called Very Dark Baby Blue. I'd just like you to know that.

Exorcists Mini Sigil
For Darrion Rauth, ym favourite soulless boy whom I definately don't ship with an OC.
That concludes the Killteam Talon Cross Stitch Project that I spend way too much time on. Full coverage cross stitching takes so much time, even with relatively small pieces.
