What do you do when an episode hits?

Make a lil guy!

Here’s my personal idea of Sun Wukong! The design is almost 100% subject to change as I dig up for details on his description and mess around with colours, but for now, monke.

Small thingies:

- His appearance is a loose mix between a rhesus macaque (which he is highly theorized to appear as) and a baby langur (because blorboification)

- I’m taking “Intelligent Stone Monkey” seriously here; he is a stoney boy

- He’s specifically a geode, meaning that being broken reveals rubies and gold underneath! (“What about those scenes that vividly describe his blood and organs?” Uhhh illusion magic/72 transformations next question)

- He is still a short kingtm

- The cloud-walking boots are fluffy because I say so

As said before, this is my personal interpretation of his appearance within the novel. If you have a different idea, that’s neat! I’d love to compare murderous fellas. Unless I’m genuinely portraying him harmfully, let’s all just have a good ole time :]

Don't mind me. Just thinking about how the Stone Monkey was so happy and full of life and joy. How he made friends with every living creature he came across and picked flowers and wandered the mountains and caves and streams with no sense of the passage of time.

Just thinking about how, for centuries, the Beautiful Monkey King was an innocent, peaceful, beloved ruler who only wished to enjoy the delights of Flower-Fruit Mountain with his subjects and family. How all their extraordinary banquets were made up of fruits and nuts and wines, with no living being ever harmed for them, and how he wept in sorrow when he realised that all things come to an end. How he only set out on his quest for immortality so that he and his people could keep enjoying this good life for forever.

Just thinking about how it was only after he became Sun Wukong and met humans and learned their culture and customs and language that he committed his first violence. How it was only after he learned the ways of war and weaponry and battle from them that he started killing and greedily wanting more and more.

Just thinking about how he was good and kind and whole, and it was the outside world that taught him violence and hurt, until in the end, violence and hurt were the only things that could make him listen.
