Granny square bag

After multiple granny square projects, I told my girlfriend that I was so done with them, but obviously like a week later I made this. My girlfriend went on a five day trip to Spain last week and I got to spend some time alone and I thought, how cool would it be to make an entire bag in just these five days? So I went onto crocheting and ended up finishing it on my way to pick her up from the airport! Talk about time management 🤣

Now the bag is a simple tote bag with long straps and a lining. I ended up only using yarn from stash which was great because one of my goals from this year is downsizing the amount of yarn I have. I even had this cotton fabric for the lining laying around, so I didn't even have to leave my house!

I'm very happy with the way it looks and so does my girlfriends which is the most important thing.

Im learning how to crochet! While sewing and cosplay is still my Big Main Hobby i wanted something I could take with me to work and pull out if I had a few minutes of downtime.

The first stitch i learned is the Half Double Crochet Slip Stitch which ends up looking like knit cables! Hopefully this will be a beanie!

Real talk time:

I've had these bags in my shop for two years now and haven't sold a single one. I've tried different price points, doing discounts, paying for Etsy ads, and they are still languishing. They're in my way in real life and clearly bags are a bust so I'm cutting the cord on them. Pricing of similar bags on Etsy are all over the place and it looks like everyone tried bags so it's mega-oversaturated. My bags don't even appear on the first three pages of search results and I have an established shop, Star Seller, etc. so I usually get some priority even without paying for ads.

I'm willing to part with each of them at cost (approximate materials) if you DM me. I'll take Venmo or PayPal. Shipping will be calculated by weight and I'll ship cheapest option available (unless you want something else), but you have to pay it, because they are heavier items, and I'm going to let you have them for 5-20$ and I don't want to come out in the negatives because of shipping, which will be more than $5 for the smallest, you see.

Any bags that are not sold by Christmas will be taken apart for a Great Yarn Reclaimation and I'll just be another dirty reseller and resell all of the handles for profit because I bought them in bulk thinking I'd be making a bunch of cool bags. I'd really like the bags to get homes though, if possible.

i quit smoking weed a few weeks ago on account of my being a dumbass, and i have replaced that addiction with a newfound crochet addiction. so yeah. i guess you could say i'm doing "sobriety" better than any other "sober" person in the history of "sobriety."
