for anyone who doesn't yet know what i'm making: this is the plan! i should maybe make a new sketch that's prettier for showing folks. hm.

i'm using this fancy joining method that has you join the squares as you crochet them. which is a little scary as it's a PAIN to undo if i make any mistakes. luckily i'm not going for a repeating pattern with the motifs

does make the space between the squares basically zero which is wanted

I noticed that the Royal Easter Show had a category for an item made completely from handspun. So I did something crazy & spent December/Jan crocheting up the shawl my ‘Sunburnt Country’ handspun was destined for to enter the category.

Regardless of how successful this piece will be in the competition, this shawl came out more beautiful than I imagined when I was designing the yarn.

tried my luck with crocheting shorts and it was actually more easy than i thought

I used a picture for reference and then improvised, and im so happy it came out so accurate to the pattern and to my vision. I'm proud of my improvements ♡

sometimes i feel like i don't measure up to other artists/crocheters, but i need to just remind myself im on my own journey and i HAVE improved and thats the most important part ☆

Help so I decided to crochet these two vest crocodile wears from one piece I have determined that it would be easy to just crochet them with a bunch of granny squares and half granny squares I believe it was called for the purple one near the ends to you know have that flat yet triangle half diamond shape. Anyways I realize I have come so far in my plans but I don't know how to sew them together to actually make them a vest. Like I know I have to take measurements on my body but what measurements? Also is it like regular sewing or you have like some paper cut out of the shape so you can cut out fabric but instead of cutting out fabric you just apply granny squares to see how much you need? Like how do I make this vest how? Like how do I sew it to be vest shape? Here's the two vests that I'm crocheting I'm going to do the purple one first but I will also do the orange one afterwards so I need advice for both of them.

Finally had some nice sunshine to take better photos. 🌞 I’m so happy with how my partner’s scarf turned out - it really looks nice with the two colored fringe! Now I’m working on a striped hat that will match their scarf. Relieved that I finished this scarf in time for their birthday, and they absolutely love it! 🥰

I wanted to show off my improvement from my first scarf made to my second scarf. My scarf is the pink, red and purple striped scarf without a fringe, instead I did a border. I made that first, in late April this year. For the fringe scarf for my partner I made it in two-ish weeks in October.

It’s very satisfying to be able to make clothing and blankets for fall and winter so we can stay warm and cozy. One of these days I’ll try my hand at doing a shirt, but for now I’m content with making outfits for my favorite stuffed animal.
