Hey guys! Springing off Significant Figures (if you haven’t listened to that yet, what are you doing here! Go stream Significant Figures here!) I’ve been spending my time in quarantine writing a lot, and wanted to share this (admittedly rough) demo of Broken Things, a song to celebrate our favourite Half-Orc barbarian who was raised by gnomes. I truly love Gorgug and wish him all the best all the time. Anyways, Lyrics under the cut.
LYRICS:
Wake up in the morning on a beaten old bed
Can’t hold in the rage when it gets to my head
Can’t help but to feel there are things left unsaid
As I pull on my hoodie, a heart full of lead
The world is far too small for a half orc like me
My parents give their all, but its not my fantasy
Keep your head down, hunch your shoulders, make it harder to see
And shut up the voice within that says you’re not your family
Woooah
Woooooah
Broken things surrounding me
Broken people leave debris
Broken things I cannot see
The forest full of broken trees
I take a few steps forward, but it always sends me back
And I’m searching for an answer when the world fades into black
And we all have our issues, it’s a lot to unpack
Skrank and Zelda, and my family just cut me some slack
Woooah
Woooooah
Broken things surrounding me
Broken people leave debris
Broken things I cannot see
The forest full of broken trees
Broken toys and broken vows
Hand me something; it’s broken now
Standing in this broken town
It’s hard to wear this broken crown
But the puzzle must be solved and the story resolved
The forest may be old but we won’t face it alone
And our efforts feel unsung, but I’ll face this fucking bug
Because we’ll finally get that hug… So keep going, it’s Gorgug
Broken things surrounding me
Broken people leave debris
Broken things I cannot see
The forest full of broken trees
Broken toys and broken vows
Hand me something; it’s broken now
Standing in this broken town
It’s hard to wear this broken crown
