One Dress a Day Challenge
Black and White October
Mothra vs. Godzilla (Mosura tai Gojira) / Yuriko Hoshi as Junko Nakanishi
This classic polka-dotted sleeveless dress is appropriate for virtually any occasion, from meetings with the chief of an isolated tribe to negotiating with diminutive fairies. With its standing collar, A-line skirt, and belt of the same material, it wouldn't look out of place in any decade from the 1950s forward.
What's particularly impressive is that Junko somehow manages to wear it under a suit of oilskins including pants (see below) without getting it impossibly wrinkled! (Either that, or she folded it up very small and carried it in her purse.)
Junko accessorizes with a white, bucket-shaped straw hat, black shoes, and a black purse.

I liked the part with the egg.
A re-hash of Mothra (1961) with Godzilla shoe-horned in, but not necessarily in as negative way as that sounds. Everything to do with Mothra, the shobijin, and the reporters was nice and fun.
I really enjoyed the greedy businessmen plotting and betraying each other, before suffering poetic kaiju-related deaths. With both of her appearances so far being explicit warnings against greed and selfishness, Mothra is shaping up to be an iconic heroine, and I look forward to seeing her more.
Godzilla's appearance honestly hindered the movie a little. He seemed to be drunk; Stumbling around aimlessly and accidentally tripping into buildings. Very much the antagonist of the story, he fared poorly against Mothra and her kids, who ran circles around him as they righteously kicked his ass back to sea.
All the practical effects and miniatures looked absolutely fantastic of course. Highlights included a really impressive tsunami effect, and the part where Godzilla melted tanks with his breath attack. I love that shitty little tanks and plans to electrocute Godzilla never go out of fashion, even though they have never even slightly worked.
The Akira Ifukube score was as good as ever, which is something true of all these movies I've seen so far that I think I've been wrong to neglect mentioning. The man really knew how to accompany a guy in a rubber suit smashing miniature buildings, in a way that elevated it above sillyness. Speaking of the rubber suit, at one point it actually caught fire, which is fucking wild. I hope Haruo Nakajima was well compensated.
