I got M Graham Permanent Green Light and Pthlao Blue gouache to make it easier to mix greens without destroying my poor Azo Yellow.

I want to paint my caiques as close to their saturated greens as possible.

Niko made a very lovely subject for my initial test. He's a lime thigh, so max green.

This is one of only a handful of times where I did inking on top of gouache paints. And... it's one of my favorites.

The photo reference was from a series by a photographer and the only name I was able to find was "Lenore".

The tapestry on the left was from a castle in Valencia, Spain I visited.

Because I could never really find the original photographer's name and reach out to them, I haven't made posters of this.

Hopefully I can track them down one day.

hi hello this was the hardest project ive done in a WHILE because of how extra careful i had to be w these mediums. tangent below

like i put down base colors with watercolor, then i cut some washi tape and put them over the cloths in the sky AND covered vex entirely, all that cutting took like 3-4 days bc i was so busy with other stuff and it had to be precise, then color with oil pastels which after a while made my fingertips feel like they’re peeling off, then peel off the washi tape as it then peels off the actual paper with the colors on it just to fuck with me! then go back and fix shit up and spend another 3 days cutting up the v’s or whatever they’re called surrounding the bastard, individually. add some finishing touches here n there for like an hour

and that concludes my horrible process that i had to go through for this thing

this all happened in the span of 2 weeks. granted i didn’t spend aaaaall my time on this bc i was busy with irl stuff but. i am so tired.
