What if she IS Jane Doe?

Next episode, Duela’s mother, Jane Doe, is supposed to show up with a secret about Duela’s father. Duela described her, I think, as a criminal who took on so many identities that in the end she forgot who she really was. Her comics inspiration is a little more chilling: she’s a serial killer who studies her victims in such depth that she can disguise herself and take over their lives.

I was expecting Rebecca to reveal her owl talons sooner rather than later. I was NOT expecting her to so casually knife her own son!

So what if Brody isn’t her son? Jane got out of Arkham some nebulous time ago, killed original Rebecca, and stole her life, including her family, her position in the Court…and her lover.

Because of course, comics Duela is Harvey’s daughter.

And if Jane and Harvey have a history, it would explain not just how the Court knows about Harvey 2 (real Rebecca could as well), but why they are targeting him now instead of, say, a decade ago.

2023 Kdramas I am excited for

We have only a bit over two months in the year left, but it looks like kdramas saved the best for last. Here is the list of kdramas I am excited for...

Boyhood/Once Upon a Boyhood (November 24) - Siwan hasn't done a bad drama and I am in the mood for a nostalgic 80s piece. I am a little amused that a 35 year old is gonna be playing a high schooler, but in a fond way.

Castaway Diva (October 28) - I am very fond of Park Eun Bin and if anyone can sell the whimsy of a tale about a woman who was a castaway and then becomes a pop star, she will. Not fond of the new trend for 12 eps but it is what it is.

Goryeo-Khitan War (November 11) - my most anticipated for the rest of the year. Every casting and crew choice, every promo makes it look like an old school politics and war heavy sageuk that does not cater in the least to youth or even fusion sageuk subgenres and I am here for it so so so MUCH!

Gyeongseong Creature (December) - not a big fan of netflix originals but I am there for the cast and the setting.

The Matchmakers (October 30) - looks like a wacky period romp with Rowoon and Cho Yi Hyun. I don't have high hopes for it because I like my period stuff angsty, but whatever else, it's gonna be pretty pretty pretty!

Moon In the Day (November 1) - except for GK War, my most anticipated for the rest of the year. Reincarnation/time travel story that flashes back between modern day and Silla - GOD YES!

My Demon (November 24) - sounds like shoujo crack about a demon who loses his powers and enters into a contract marriage (of course) with a human. Done many many times before but I am always a sucker for the trope.

Perfect Marriage Revenge (October 28) - first of all, I have a huge weak spot for Sung Hoon. He's a limited actor but between New Tales of the Gisaeng and his role in Faith, he won my heart forever. But also, this plot is so old school melo the way they don't make it nowadays. Our FL is betrayed by her sister and her husband and dies. But she wakes up before her marriage and decides to do things differently and get revenge. She gets married in a contract marriage to our ML, a chaebol (of course) played by sexy Sung Hoon and...doesn't it all sound like those delicious transmigration novels made flesh?

The Story of Park's Marriage Contract (November 24) - I love time travel/time slip stories and the fact that this is a woman who ends up in the modern day where she comes across the dead ringer of her deceased husband makes it high class Durian, plus Lee Se Young is a wonderful actress who rarely picks wrong.

Tell Me That You Love Me (November) - a remake of my favorite jdrama of all time, Aishteiru to Ittekure, this story about the relationship between a deaf painter and an aspiring younger actress is going to give me the adult love story I crave. The fact that the legend that is Jung Woo Sung is back in dramas, and is playing the ML, is just the perfect thing. (His last proper drama was Padam Padam in 2011!!! He is mainly a movie star.)

Vigilante (November 8) - I am just here to see Nam Joo Hyuk kick people in the face.

Welcome to Samdalri (December 2) - Shin Hye Sun and Ji Chang Wook in a romcom mmmmm. I don't have any pics so have:

Maja hi! I have some thoughts about marriage stunt but nobody agrees with me because other mods never posted my ask. I just believe it was selling her show (wn) just before its end date of selling. I mean they tried to get a better buyer of it but they couldn’t and gave up. I thought it was because of his tiff movie but yesterday its trailer was released however they didn’t do any stunt. I also want to remind that he never used this stunt to sell his works(tgm, ghosted…) ghosted had bad reviews as well. He didn’t try to cover them. Every actor can have bad reviews, these movies are not his dream jobs. We all know this. Also remember how they tried to wrap up on june. He did alone sightings. He did podcast. But then suddenly they went to bermuda. Just before Simon’s timer and netflix is releasing wn’s rights news. And the marriage rumors, only bad pr to him. But it brought more fame to her. It only works for her again. I think it was last push before wn selling got wrapped up they tried to find a better producer but they couldn’t. If you noticed, after simon’s statement, she deleted her promo post. And we never got any sightings, or even trolling from them. Which we all know it was busy three weeks, sightings, trollings, articles. Actually when there were rumors, Gully was in canada, and justin will be at there too. They made justin posted from pt. L&D rumors debunked by releasing the location by l&d. he also got gene kelly, after these happened. They deleted her from his imdb. Red pill article is deleted as well. It looks like they wrapped up to me. He got what he wanted (GK movie). I feelike we are out of the wood finally.

I'm going to share your ask, but share my thoughts with you.

I really love how positive you're, but I don't know if it's that easy. Talking about his projects, she was at the Ghosted premiere; however, I agree that if this is PR for him, it's definitely not about selling his projects or covering up bad reviews, but more about getting projects or maybe that Gene Kelly project out of it. It's weird she deleted the WN post; I don't really see the point of it, even if they don't want her in the movies (I think there was an article about WN getting 3 movies). I'm actually interested in the fact that if they actually don't want her in it, it is because of the things people found out about her, and because even though more people have gotten to know her because of Chris, most of them don't really like her?

It definitely seemed like in the summer that this whole thing (if this is PR) had come to an end; he deactivated his social media accounts; there were no birthday posts or the whole podcast; but then the whole wedding thing happened.

I wouldn't necessarily say that him having that Gene Kelly project in IMDb Pro and them removing Alba as his wife from it means too much. That Gene Kelly project appears from time to time, or maybe never even leaves, so I wouldn't really put too much hope into that. I'd rather say don't put too much hope into anything they do or say. The only thing we can do is wait and see how this whole thing ends.

The problem here is that if this was only for PR reasons and there wasn't even a wedding, that doesn't really help the situation right now. They either need to fake a divorce or say that there was only a party in MA and they went on a vacation with friends in PT. Acting like nothing happened won't really help. Prior to the whole wedding thing, they could've just simply broken up and gone on with their lives, but that won't be that easy anymore.

These are obviously only plays if this whole thing is PR.

Since I love Nendo and I made posts for Asirpa and Ogata’s Nendoroids, I feel bad if I don’t do one for the Sugimoto one.

We’ve started with seeing a promo for his Nendo on the 12th of January.

As people who’s into Nendo know, the image in the promo isn’t necessarily showing the Nendo as it will be released but something close to it.

Differently to the Ogata Nendo, which was released because it won the 2019 survey along with other 5 characters from other stories, Sugimoto is likely being released because the anime studio asked for it (the GK Nendo are based, according to the Goodsmile website, to their anime counterparts), same as Asirpa. In short, he’s promotional material.

And it seems they’re in quite a rush to release him. In fact, on the 7th of February they announced they would show a preview of its Nendo on the 12th of the same month.

Quite a difference from how we were left hanging for A WHOLE YEAR, before the prototype for the Ogata Nendo was released even if, credits when it’s due, we were in the middle of the Covid mandemic and way too many Nendo were delayed.

So here it is, the Sugimoto Saichi prototype.

And this prototype is close enough to the promo image (the only big difference is that in the image his right hand was close while in the prototype it’s obviously open).

Something I want to point is noteworty is that Sugimoto’s rifle isn’t fully in plastic but has a piece of cloth that allows it to be placed on Sugimoto’s shoulder.

It’s something I wrote to Goodsmile to use for Ogata’s rifle and they didn’t... so it’s nice to see that they finally are doing it.

Opefully, if there’s a shooting pose, they place the rifle in the correct manner as well (the Ogata Nendo can’t keep the rifle the way Ogata does, even though they had other Nendo doing so, as you can read in my review for this Nendo) or if they’ll just skip the shooting option and give him more fighting poses (Sugimoto was more of a fighter than a shooter).

They’re also giving Sugimoto the chance to look more dynamic as they gave him additional moving legs. I wonder if they’ll give him a sitting piece so he too can make Citatap same as Ogata...

I fear the hat will be sadly not something that can be removed, so I won’t be able to use it with the Ogata Nendo, which is a pity. At least his arms seems to be well articulated and the prototype seems to be well detailed down to the buttons on his coat.

For who’s interested in him, and I know there were quite a few, it will probably be a cute looking, well done Nendo.

Meanwhile, since both Asirpa and Ogata get a re-release, if you don’t have them yet, you might consider getting them.
