Yuzuru: (Ahh, what a disgrace.)

(I, Yuzuru Fushimi, have made a mistake of a lifetime. At this rate, the Young Master will be in danger…!)

Touri: Help me…

Yuzuru: Young Master…!

I’m over here! Where are you? Young Master!

Touri: ………

Yuzuru: Oh, thank goodness. You were over here. I’m relieved to see you’re unhurt.

Touri: ………

Yuzuru: The Young Master’s eyes are lifeless…

Yuzuru: As I thought my hunch was correct – there is something “bad” in this haunted house.

I should have been more cautious if I had known this would happen.

There is an evil haunting this mansion. Among the evil ghosts, there is–

< The latter half of October. On a certain day preparing for “Halloween Party”. >

Location: Student Council Room

Mao: ...*Phew* Good job, guys!

I wasn’t sure if we could finish in the beginning, but it looks like most of the paperwork for ES’ collaboration has been completed.

I think the management for “Halloween Party” has gotten a lot easier.

Yuzuru, thanks for getting in touch with Tenshouin-senpai too.

Yuzuru: No need to thank me, I was already having difficulty with this year’s “Halloween Party”.

Under normal circumstances, it should have been I, a member of “fine”, to request Eichi-sama’s assistance. I’m terribly sorry.

Mao: No no. It feels kinda wrong of us to contact a senior who’s graduated already. I didn’t want him to think I’m unreliable, so you’re not in the wrong at all, Yuzuru.

Anyway, it really helped that Hasumi-senpai got wind of our troubles and negotiated ES’ joint sponsorship with Tenshouin-senpai.

Thanks to him, we’ve cleared the issue of not having enough performance venues at the school. All that’s left is to focus on our own “units”.

Touri: Yeah, you really got lucky~ It’s all thanks to Hasumi-senpai negotiating with Eichi-sama that we get to have Halloween with ES.

You guys better be grateful for Eichi-sama’s generosity~

Mao: Hey, you’re also a member of the Student Council, so he technically helped you out too, you know?

Oh well. Either way, I should be thankful to a graduated senior who helped us with our unexpected troubles.

Shinobu: Yup. He truly is a “helping hand” ~de gozaru. Thanks to him, I think I can meet up with “RYUUSEITAI” earlier than expected for our Halloween activities.

I’m happy to see that everyone else can also meet up with their “units” ~de gozaru ♪

Mao: Everyone else but me in “Trickstar” is working really hard, so it just feels like I’m just dropping in at the last minute, though.

If I remember correctly, Tenshouin-senpai’s in charge of the event for “fine”, right?

Touri: Yup. We’re leaving ES to Eichi-sama.

Both me and Yuzuru were helping out with the planning up until halfway, but Eichi-sama told us we should prioritise Yumenosaki Academy, and I thought what he said was very true.

Besides, we don’t have to worry since Eichi-sama has created so many successful events already. That’s why we decided it’d be best for him and Hibiki-senpai to go ahead with the preparations.

Fufu, if there’s anything worth worrying about, then I guess it might be the fact that Eichi-sama is feeling lonely because I’m not there with him~♪

Yuzuru: It’s too early to relax, Young Master.

Seeing as Eichi-sama and Hibiki-sama are working on the preparations for Halloween in advance means we must work harder than them, or else we may not make it in time.

Touri: I know~ Sheesh, you always notice the small things, Yuzuru.

Besides, I’m always super motivated, you know?

You saw Eichi-sama’s proposal, too, right? They’re doing a grand haunted house at ES!

A difficult lesson is nothing compared to that ♪

Mao: A haunted house? That sounds pretty complicated~

Shinobu: As expected of Tenshouin-dono. His ideas are on a whole different level ~de gozaru.

Touri: I know, right? No one can even stand close to Eichi-sama’s planning skills ♪

Anyway, we’ve reached a good stopping point in our Student Council work, so let’s go to ES. Yuzuru?

Sorry, but “fine” is gonna be the main attraction of Halloween this year! Take care not to get buried in the ground~♪

Mao: Haha, he sure seems energetic~ His footsteps look so light ♪

Yuzuru: I apologise for my Young Master’s rudeness, Isara-sama, Sengoku-sama.

Shinobu: No, it’s fine. I feel motivated watching Touri-kun too.

“RYUUSEITAI” doesn’t have the same funds as “fine”, but we’ll liven up Halloween as a familiar presence ~de gozaru!

Yuzuru: Thank you for your kind words.

But the Young Master’s movements seemed oddly light. I was sure he would have been frustrated not being able to have a say in “fine’s” plans up until now, due to his position as a member of the Student Council.

…Or so I had thought, but this is not the time to be sharing what’s on my mind. If I were to leave the Young Master on his own, I’m sure he may carelessly hurt himself.

I shall take my leave as well. May you all enjoy the rest of your evening.

Mao: Yeah, you too.

Sengoku, you can leave too. Your “RYUUSEITAI” members are waiting at ES, right?

I’m planning on practising at school, so I’ll lock the student council room.

Shinobu: Thank you for being so considerate. Then, I shall go as well ~de gozaru.

Mao: Haha. They all left like baby spiders. They must have all been itching to participate in the Halloween activities.

the thing is. akira has written like ? 4 non-remini scouts in es2 and tori is high-rarity in two of them and nearly shot in one. he's also not written that many tours but he wrote the ones with high rarity tori and he also goes thru the horrors in them. the unit event where he is a 4* in has a cg of him dead as well. he's akira's es2 chewtoy

(...So I fell asleep. My head feels fuzzy.... Must be the effects of an unexpectedly deep sleep.)

(We have plans to practice till late in the night, so resting in the medical office for now should be just fine.)

(But I can't relax when I have nothing to do. At the very least I could do work that I can do even here. Let's order a replacement for the glass Young Master broke yesterday.)

(Smartphones are so useful in times like this. It's nice, being able to shop online for the tableware we use every day.)

(For me, it's useful for finishing tasks more easily. Maybe it's this era's chronic ailment, not being able to have free time without the presence of your work... ♪)

(- And my transaction is complete. Now that I'm at it, it wouldn't be a bad idea to look into Young Master's new phone options.)

(Society these days is full of dangers. For the sake of Young Master's safety, I almost want to attach a transmitter to his phone...)

(But I will not. That's way too overprotective. I suppose I'm still on edge from the baffling experiences that occurred yesterday.)

(Psychic phenomena are a matter of emotions - I've told myself that so many times now.)

What the heck's been going on~ There's been weird shadows and cryptic handprints, and then hair raising music and weird props and more!

It's like they're making fun of me by having me flip between states of calm and despair!

What part of this is "entertainer talent" stuff!?

That mophead must be giddy about making me miserable! I'm tired of this emotional roller coaster~!

Keito: Calm down, Himemiya. My ears hurt if you scream so close to me.

Keito: Clear your mind of all mundane thoughts, and you will find even fire cool. Instead of being riled up, stay calm- (The first phrase is actually a proverb, with legends saying that this is what the Buddhist monk Kaisen Jōki said before burning down with his temple due to Oda Nobunaga. Keito is a well-read man!)

Tori: I don't need to hear that right now! If things are scary, then they scare you!

K-Kazehaya-senpai! Please keep a tight hold on my hand! Don't let go of me this time!

Tatsumi: Of course. I won't make the same mistake again.

Oh my. Only that place over there reflects light. It looks like it's covered by a white cloth... Could that be the exit?

Tori: The exit? We did it! Let's leave right now! ♪

Keito: Wait. When you look closely, isn't the white cloth... moving?

A GHOOOOOOOOOST!?

Eichi: Yup. Tori's reactions are just what I was hoping for.

He reacts well to both Wataru's ghost cast and the weird happenings. I can have high hopes for the haunted house.

Wataru: Even if the lights are out of service still, things have gone smoothly even with customers just using flashlights.

Once we get lights working for the event, I'm sure everyone will enjoy this attraction in its flawless state.

The gift bestowed to the masses by fine, the Amazing haunted house. I'm quite looking forward to that day ♪

Eichi: It's a big attraction we have poured our soul into. If people don't enjoy it, it would be a big let down.

Well then. The last thing left is the goal, the grand hall - so this very place. Just showing ourselves would spoil the fun, so let's hide in another room for now.

There's a poltergeist phenomenon waiting here back in the hall.

And then the shadows of old inhabitants haunting this building will appear in the paintings, luring the passersby to the world beyond -

The grand finale will be the dread of ghosts taking over you and our world. I'm sure that even Keito and Kazehaya-kun will get spooked by this.

Wataru: Fufufu, I would love to see that: the two of them when their whole bodies go cold! What would their faces look like, I wonder... ♪

Eichi: For Keito, it would definitely be-

Wataru: Oh my, a phone call? Is it a construction contractor for the haunted house?

Eichi: No, it's from a private number. Who would call at this hour? I'll answer it.

Seems like it was a mute call. Guess it's a prank. There's lots of people who know my number after all.

Wataru: It could also be a case of them calling the wrong number. It's a possibility that once they heard your voice, they became flustered and hung up due to realising their mistake.

Eichi: Fufu. Maybe it's actually the ghosts of the land that are fed up with our haunted house.

Wataru: Goodness...!

Wataru: If that's the case, oh how utterly terrifying! Does this mean we will be snatched away by the spirits of this mansion...!?

Wataru: Are you ready to go and secure an escape route, Eichi? Let's grab our test subjects and arrange an emergency meeting!

Eichi: Ahaha. You're overreacting, there's no way stuff like that would actually exist ♪

Eichi: People seek answers for everything, even when this world has so many things in it that aren't understood yet.

Eichi: Any phenomenon must have a reason behind it. It's just that we don't know it yet -

Eichi: And psychic phenomena are just one example of those very things.

Wataru: Gosh. And I thought you would play along with my act, what a shame.

Wataru: However, your appreciation for these enigmas of life came across to me well. Dreams and fantasies are also something that help troubled people cope with life.

Wataru: The ES Haunted House - Let's make it a success, Eichi.

Eichi: Fufu... What's with you all of a sudden?

Eichi: Aren't you and I villainous accomplices committing the sin of scaring people?

Eichi: So, as proper villains, let's make sure Tori and company reach the goal, Wataru ♪

Wataru: Of course! Let's make the most of this till the end. And let's keep cryptic things as just that; cryptic.

Ghostic: Haunted - Chapter 2

Location: Seisou Hall (Night) Characters: Touri, Yuzuru, Eichi, Wataru & Mayoi

< That night, after “fine” finishes their lesson. >

Touri: Fufu. Practising with the four of us in “fine” is always so much fun…♪

All I’ve been doing is practising on my own for “Halloween Party”, so it feels like my everyday routine has finally returned.

Yuzuru: Young Master, I see you were enthusiastically practising until late to cover up for all the aspects you were lacking in all this time. That is an admirable attitude.

The new song is sure to be on the same level as last year – no, even more of a hit compared to the year before.

Touri: Yeah. “Ghostic Treat House” definitely feels like a new kind of song for “fine” since it’s based on the “ES Haunted House”.

I’d just feel really bad if I ended up dragging Eichi-sama and everyone else down.

Eichi: Fufu. Who would have known how things would have turned out if it hadn’t been for Keito.

I didn’t believe in the phrase, “your kindness will be rewarded in the end”, but I think it was exactly that this time. I’ve got to thank Keito later as well.

Yuzuru: Yes. We were quite fortunate.

However, it’s a shame we’re unable to be in costume this year.

Wataru: In costume, you say? That is a rather unexpected word from you, Mr Butler~

Last year, we only dressed up for “fine’s” work. I thought you simply had no interest in such activities.

Eichi: Hmm. I didn’t think you would say that, Yuzuru.

I had planned for specific areas to be allowed in costume due to security reasons, but perhaps I should have made it less restrictive.

Yuzuru: No, I didn’t mean it like that.

I simply thought if I had captured the Young Master dressed in a lovely outfit last year, my master and the lady would be most pleased.

The scale of this year’s “Halloween Party” is different from the last. Naturally, I too wish to prioritise security.

Touri: That’s the good part about Yumenosaki Academy, huh~ It kinda feels like the moment you step into society, you’re burdened with responsibilities and the scrutiny of the public eye.

But, on the other hand, our Halloween outfits will all be prepared for us. Feel free to take as many pictures as you like of me in that outfit, okay? ♪

Wataru: What a lovely sense of service, Hime-kun. I cannot lose, either.

I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of Halloween outfits we will receive ♪

…We’ve been chatting for quite some time now, but look, we’ve reached Seisou Hall.

I’m sure everyone is exhausted. How about we call it a night here?

Eichi: You’re right. I’ll contact you all later regarding the practice schedule leading up to the big day.

Yuzuru: Does that mean your phone is in the “ES Haunted House”?

Touri: Yeah. Maybe… actually, I think it is.

If I had my phone, I would have gone on social media at least once. I don’t remember doing that, so I think it must be left in the haunted house.

Yuzuru: Understood. It’s already quite late, so I will go and retrieve your phone.

I’m sure you’re exhausted from today, so please return first and prepare for bed.

Touri: O-Okay. Thanks. Be careful, Yuzuru.

Yuzuru: I will. You would naturally be quite upset should anything happen to me. I shall be cautious and be on my way.

Yuzuru: (Now, this has become quite a troubling ordeal.)

(Our schedules will be quite packed due to our lessons starting tomorrow, so I must find the phone quickly and also have enough time to rest.)

(In any case, the Young Master is quite careless to leave his phone somewhere like that.)

(I’m glad it happened before the haunted house was open to the public. If the phone was to land in the hands of a random stranger, it would be quite a big deal.)

(Or so I’ve been thinking, but I’ve reached the haunted house in no time. I’ve memorised the mansion’s layout, so I shall begin my search immediately.)

(Hm? I thought I saw a person in the distance, but who is that…?)

Mayoi: ………

Yuzuru: Ayase-sama, what are you doing here?

Mayoi: E-Eek! No, no…! I’m not an intruder!

I was walking back from ES and simply happened to come across this strange building…!

Yuzuru: I see. I didn’t think you were an intruder, Ayase-sama.

You must be curious to see a new building that appeared all of a sudden. What you are looking at here is the limited-time haunted house for Halloween, the “ES Haunted House”.

Mayoi: Haunted house…?

Yuzuru: Yes, for it is Halloween season. A special kind of haunted house will be open very soon. Were you surprised?

Mayoi: Yes. But if that is the case, I’m glad. I’m relieved to see it was simply my misunderstanding.

This haunted house… gives off quite a strong and odd feeling.

Yuzuru: Hm. Now that you mention it, a haunted house at night certainly does give off a certain feeling of sorts.

Mayoi: Umm, that’s one thing, but it gives off a more spooky kind of feeling.
