Spooky season is here and with that, so is artificial pumpkin painting 👀.
Gastly, Haunter, and Gengar are definitely the best Pokémon to represent Halloween!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
up close details are provided on bottom photos. stacked with velcro attachments affixed to the bottoms of the Haunter and Gastly pumpkins. my husband and i also created a square plastic stand to attach the Gengar pumpkin so it could display freely in our home. 30 hours of work using acrylic paint.

Inktober day 25: Perish Song
This was one of the prompts I feared the most, it’s a bit uninspired, but here’s a creepy Little Miss!
Leave a heart not to be knocked out in the next three turns!

Pokémon Headcanon
Researchers are proposing that Gourgeist’s singing when it entraps and kills its prey is not an expression of joy, but an act of pragmatism. It is well established that Gourgeist can channel their ghostly power particularly effectively and easily through song, allowing them to place curses on those who hear it. The song during subjugation of prey now appears to serve the same purpose - a means of continuous supernatural attack that weakens the prey Pokémon until it no longer struggles and eventually is completely drained of life. After all, average and small Gourgeist don’t have much strength and in any case arms made out of plant hair by nature aren’t the strongest appendages relative to the powers and abilities of many Pokémon. Experiments have found that when given a fake Pokémon toy that ‘struggled’ and emitted pained noises in their grasp, Gourgeist would enjoy playing with it, but could sense it had no spirit and therefore wasn’t real; they did not bother to sing while expressing happiness and entertainment in other ways, with other vocalizations and energetic movements. Meanwhile, observations in the wild have found that they sing louder and longer preying on bigger and/or more powerful and dangerous Pokémon (showing keen awareness of type advantages), and even change the key or quicken the pace to intensify the melody in response to their prey lashing out at them or almost managing to escape. This is contrary to the expectation they would sing more successfully subduing weaker Pokémon, out of pleasure at securing a meal and the greater damage they do to the prey.
Many Ghost and Dark-type Pokémon are believed to be sadistic based on negative assumptions and misunderstandings that influence how we interpret their behaviour. Often what appears to be cruelty can be explained as simply doing what works well to survive and thrive. It appears this may be another example. Remember, they say “no Pokémon is evil” for good reason. Morality just isn’t a concept in the wild.

I think more people (me) should stop using Ravens and other corvids to act as omen's of death when doing a symbolism and start using Pīwakawaka as omens of the death instead.

You may not like it, but this is what peak death omen looks like.

Character Bio - ‘SCP 867’ the Trevenant (Pokemon)
Y’all will never know the amount of months it took just to finally hatch a shiny version of this Pokemon. So worth it though.
