"I think I miss you less and less as every day goes by, Johanna..."
I love him, your honor. I love getting to draw Sweeney whether it's Len or Depp, but Len is starting to hold a very special place in my heart. He's just a silly, goofy, sad guy. What can I say?

There’s just something so funny about Mrs. Lovett being blonde in the 2023 revival.
I don’t mean this in a bad way, I just say this because of the many times Sweeney raves about Lucy’s yellow hair.
Every time he does so now, Lovett’s just in the background like, “You’ve gotta be kidding me.”

A collection of Sweeneys for ya. I wanted to draw the lot of them together in a lineup again for a while. Last time I only drew four, so I added 4 more Sweeneys to whom I like or have seen. Enjoy ❤️💈🩸🔪🥧✨️

Sweeney would blink and rats would scuttle...
I'm so glad that the 2023 production of Sweeney Todd has both rekindled and sparked a lot of people's love for Sweeney Todd 😊
I love seeing how each actor interprets Sweeney's character. George Hearn's portrayal of Sweeney from the 1982 stage recording will probably always be my favourite because of how you can also see the Benjamin Barker in his performance. That, and his delivery of "AT LAST, MY ARM IS COMPLETE AGAIN!" is unparalleled. Chills, every time.
Who's your favourite Sweeney Todd??

"At last my arm is complete again" 🪒🥧🍖💈
Fun little project imaging Sweeney Todd as an Animated musical.
I may return to these at a late date but here it is for now.

1982 Sweeney Todd finale: Todd and Lovett exit separately, still seem to be on not-so great terms.
2023 Sweeney Todd finale: Okay, but what if they fell into Hell together???

There was a barber and his wife And she was beautiful A foolish barber and his wife She was his reason and his life And she was beautiful And she was virtuous And he was... Naive.
George Hearn in Sweeney Todd the Demon Barber of Fleet Street (1982) during Final Scene
---
To me, no production of Sweeney Todd will ever be as gut-wrenching as the 1982 production with George Hearn in Final Scene. How he holds Lucy so tightly, trying to bring her back to life, petting her, kisses her hoping it'll wake her, only having to accept what he's done as her head falls. Still he sings to her, wanting her back, wishing he wasn't so foolish. If only he found her sooner, if only he wasn't so blind by revenge, if only he was told the truth of her whereabouts. All he ever wanted was his family back in his arms. Not all this anger, all this blood, all this pain and sorrow. Just his Lucy and Johanna. George just portrays this pain so well.
