I learned so much about genetic testing and the benefits for those currently suffering with unexplained illnesses and to those who may get sick in the future. In this book, Dr. Euan Angus Ashley shares his passion for helping families who suffer from unexplained chronic illnesses by sharing their stories and his research that ultimately helped so many. He believes that precision medicine is the key to healing and prevention in the future. His premise is that by cracking each person's genetic code, doctors will be more informed and be able to provide individualized treatment and diagnose correctly because no two people on Earth have the same genome. This book was interesting and fascinating and I feel more informed. I felt sad for the patients who had to undergo so much before getting answers. We live in a world where people are getting sick with mysterious illnesses and doctors don't seem to have all the answers except for pills, tests and risky treatments. Wouldn't it great if you could get individualized treatment that will be effective for your specific needsand help you plan for chronic illness and genetic disease in the future?
