I know this is already mostly covered with him coming back as a vampire or kas, but what about Eddie just coming back wrong. Not necessarily fangs and a new yearning for blood, but just. Off.
He comes back, maybe days after Dustin last held him, sobbing his heart out. Maybe it's been weeks, maybe even months. What matters is that he's back now, against all odds, but there's something off about how he holds himself, how he stares off into the distance just a moment too long when someone calls for him.
Maybe his eyes look unfocused, maybe he's not as physically warm as he was before, and now his rings really truly are always cold, not being warmed up by his body heat.
Maybe his skins a slight bit paler, maybe his veins show, maybe they don't.
Eddie's back, he's with them — the party —, but something is off. He's their Eddie, that much is true, but the upside down has changed him. Taken some things and tried to make up for it by putting other things in their place, but it doesn't work as well.
