Gabija
Gabija (also known as Gabieta, Gabeta) is the spirit of the fire in Lithuanian mythology. She is the protector of home and family. Her name is derived from gaubti (to cover, to protect) or from St. Agatha. Gabija is only mentioned in a list of Lithuanian gods by the Christian theologian Jan Łasicki in his treatise on idolatry. She is found in Lithuanian folklore.
Gabija could take zoomorphic forms of a cat, stork or rooster, or she could appear as a woman clothed in red. Gabija was greatly respected and cared for like a living creature. People would feed Gabija by offering bread and salt. Fire had to be laid to bed – women would cover the charcoal with ashes every evening so that fire would not wander around. Just as Gabija was the protector of the house, mother of the household was the protector of fire. Sometimes a bowl of clean water would be left near the hearth so that Gabija could wash herself. If angered, Gabija would "go for a walk" burning the house. Much folklore describes the ill fate of those who offended Gabija by stomping, spitting, or urinating on her.
Matka Gabia is the Lithuanian goddess of the home, hearth, and patron of their care. She most likely originates from Gabija.

Okay so to start off, Kells had a name change and his name is now Drysten because I liked the meaning of that name better
Gabi is literally so badass like you won’t even believe, so here’s some fun facts about her-
1. Gabi is short for Gabija, not Gabriela, as she let people believe for years. Gabija is the Lithuanian goddess of fire and the protector of families and home
2. She’s of Lithuanian and Romanian descent but was raised primarily in Romania (Bucharest) Her father came from a long line of Lithuanian Nobility, who had since lost their titles and fled to Romania but still retained their wealth and aristocracy
3. Gabi was a polyglot and that’s where Benedict inherited his love of languages, from her. She spoke Romanian, Lithuanian, Russian, French, Italian, German, English, and Latin. She also taught Benedict his first two languages (Lithuanian and Romanian) outside of English
4. She was a big fan of Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks, something her daughter Beatrix inherited from her. Her favorite Fleetwood Mac song was Songbird, but she was seen often listened to Landslide as her marriage to Drysten deteriorated
Yes, I added this in because I am a big Fleetwood Mac stan myself, especially of Songbird
5. As her marriage to Drysten started to deteriorate before her murder and after the birth of the twins, she took to wearing only black and white, to represent the different sides of the moon (and her twins)
6. Gabi used to always braid Beatrix’s hair in elaborate ways. Beatrix continued this after her death and does it feel to close to her mother
7. Gabi’s parents were murdered for practicing “old magic” when she was 13 but she didn’t find out the truth until she was 16, which is when she joined Drysten and his crew, convincing her best friend to join with her too. At that time, Drysten’s whole thing was anti-witch government and she thought it was a good idea in a rebellious teenager way
But she didn’t think she’d fall in love with Drysten and she didn’t at first. She respected and admired him greatly, but after many years, had a whirlwind romance with him
8. She slowly became disillusioned with Drysten and his plans as he became more and more obsessed with prophecy, it worsened after after the birth of her youngest child. Which is when she started hatching a plan to leave him and run away with her children
9. Her best friend was Fran Friday, who she’d known since she was 13 and first came to America. Fran was her most trusted friend and confidant, until her death. She was the only person she trusted to keep Benedict safe from Drysten
10. She was murdered by Drysten for trying to leave him with their children. She succeeded in getting Benedict away from him, but not Beatrix and her other child
