What inspires you to write? Are there things that you know that you can get inspiration from or does it just come randomly?

Happy STS!

For me, inspiration doesn't mean "to write".

There are, and always have been, a lot of stories floating around in my mind - ideas, scenes, vibes, outlines. I get inspiration from literally everywhere, from talking to my friends, and video games, and scrolling past images or prompts, and reading books, and spending too much time on reddit, and…

Many remain daydreams, or character backstories, eventually lost to time.

Now for actually being able to sit my ass down and get words on the page? I don't know. It comes and goes as it pleases. Having a beehive where a brain should be does NOT help, let me tell you that.

I just. Can't focus on shit lately. Can barely make it through a chapter when reading. Every day is just suddenly over, and I got nothing done, and I am so tired. I have a completely outlined short thing I have been trying to write since Nov, and it's like pulling teeth.

I could do with several months off work while everyone leaves me the fuck alone. How would that be.

i am getting. actually kind of close to completing the (reasonable) parts of my collection

#like there are 3 things i expect to take me 5 years. if ever. to get my hands on (unless i somehow get a job that pays x4 my current one)#but aside from that im at like 4-5 things left. just got another thing today! damaged but it kinda works for it. cant wait for it to arrive #and i'm not gonna find a better price then 30% off og retail when it usually sells for 30% More nowadays #btw by collection i mean. everything i am collecting. not just spop. but mostly spop lol #i get Itchy when i go 1-2+ months without finding anything #so whenever something pops up at a good price it feels good to relieve that even when the itch was focusing on a different thing atm #i love deleting a saved search i've had for ages lol #mylife #i told my mom 'i dont want to collect just to collect :(' <- feels guilty about consumerism #and my mom was like. but you are a collector. you like to collect things. a lot of people do lol #and then i was like oh okay. somehow that fixed my guilt

#just opened a copy of decline and fall by evelyn waugh that i got at a secondhand place over christmas #and inside is a note in black ink that says #''merry reading mom -shaun '92''#like i hope she enjoyed it #i hope it's what she wanted for christmas #i wonder if shauns still around #i wonder if his mom is #best writing i ever found in a book was in the back of one #where some kid wrote his name 3 times in different coloured metallic sharpie #like you just know that kid had to read the book for school and opened a fresh pack of sharpies #and wanted to see what they looked like and didn't give a shit about the book lol #wish i could remember which book it was #i have books from my great grandmother's collection #she had a stamp with her name that she put in every one #i wonder if someone will pick these books up at a secondhand store after i'm gone #and wonder who harley was #ooh i forgot i also have that copy of dr jekyll my dad stole from his high school library #that has his name written in it in pencil along with the names of like 3 other students with the year written next to each one #and on the opposite page the name of the high school that gave it to his high school #it's my favourite kind of history sorry i'm getting really into this

#its so weird. i feel like march 5th went on for more than a day somehow. i guess that's just bc we were awake for just abt all of it #my dad wanted to start doing things immediately so he was calling and scheduling all day. we went to the funeral home we went to the store #and it was weird bc as we were moving around it was like wow we r a 4 person family now. this is it. and theres so much to do after a person #dies. or at least there is when they were loved so much and jesus christ my mom was one of the best ppl a LOT of ppl knew. she did so much #for so so many ppl. and with her childhood she had every reason to b a fuck up but no she was kind and selfless and amazing. her mother is #trying to bask in the attention of her death when its like: truely go fuck urself. her being such a good person has nothing to do with u. u #treated her appallingly. fuck off. and fucking everyone knows it. god. she is a product of her grandparents kindness. and it sounds like her #dad was amazing like her. but he tragically died in a car wreck when she was 3. she was in the car. no one in my mums family believes in a #god now. too many bad things happened to the shining gems in a collection of wild alcoholics. but its not all bad. my family's staying close #my dad is taking it hard bc this means hes alone now and my mum took care of so many things bc she was so smart and he feels so dumb. he #feels he didnt deserve her. hes working on giving more hugs now. and hes using us to anxiously talk things out the way he did with mom #which is good. i cant imagine if this happened when we werent 3 adults and he was windowed with 3 kids to raise himself. and its funny. were #saying things we never would have told her. we looked thru pictures of her and she was so so beautiful. a total smoke show. my parents were #a cute couple who produced cute kids. and my mom had trouble communicating and being affectionate tho we knew she loved us there was #distance. theres a pic of my dad pulling her close and shes being tippef towarf her while standing away and thats indicitive of their #relationship. they were 2 partners who lived together independently and that worked but its sad bc my mum couldnt b vulnerable in her #expression. ppl r being so kind tho. ill be in ohio now for like 2.5 more weeks as the funeral stuff shakes out. we have to have 2 bc she #grew up away from her and so many ppl loved her in both locations. she was a popular lady. its so weird to b here on pause. but i feel clear #in my head. i think this will change a lot of my outlook on life. its nice to focus on the person she was and not the horrible 12hrs where i #saw her half dead. i cant imagine how awful it was for my sisters and dad to see her downslide into death. she didnt expect this to b The #Fever that killed her but it did and now she'll never finish a million things. and the house is full of pill bottles and all her junk and #unopened amazon packages and a truck with the fuel left on empty. bc she was an absent minded goofball. ay. well miss her so much #unrelated

i have had this headcannon about tmnt 2012 for a while now so im gonna put it on tumblr. inspired by my mom actually

Tang Shen was a HUGE music lover, had an alt phase when she was younger and still loved the music into her adulthood, had a vinyl collection and everything.

When she died and Splinter moved to New York, he took her collection and record player with him.

After he settled in the sewer with the turtles, he went and retrieved everything from his apartment, including Shen's music and player. At first he put it all with her shrine, but decided later to move it into the main room to listen to it with his kids (he had to put it back when the boys got to "running around and breaking shit" age). He'd pull it put on special occasions.

They still listen to her music together, and when the turtles are old enough to go to the surface, they bring back records sometimes. April dug out some of Kirby's music and vinyl is about the only thing Casey takes good care of.

When they invite Karai back into the family, one of the first things they do is pull out the record player.

I allow myself to go one single time a year (pretty expensive like.. $12 for the garlic noodles I think #or even $15. And probably $7 for a drink. so it's a very rare treat). we spent $3000 within a single week, replacing the entire cooling system, only for it to overheat and cause irreparable damage anyway.

:( she is being scrapped tomorrow morning and i am very very very very sad about it

#or if by 'story behind it' you mean why do i have this car #the car i had before the cruiser got stolen from a khols parking lot while i was there spending 8 consecutive hours refolding levis #as i was to do during that era of my life #and so i needed a new car and my mom saw this one being sold online and clearly we needed that one #a guy was selling it because it belonged to his recently deceased wife #her name was tracy and she loved bigfoot. there was a huge collection of bigfoot stuff in their house when we went to go pick it up #there was a bigfoot air freshener in the car too. i never took it off felt disrespectful.#sorry i trashed your car tracy #actually on a related note every previous owner of this car is dead #which i think was around 3 or 4 people according to the guy who sold it to us #deaths completely unrelated to the car though he lost his wife to cancer. i dont think the pt cruiser had any malignant energy.#the guy selling the car was a mailman thats not very relevant but i just think its neat. i love mail
