teen trusc.um make me sad. i know they're just kids in bad environments taking their feelings of powerlessness on others, but they end up bullying the peers they should be making community with & isolating themselves as a result. and if they don't get over that, if they don't curb their tendencies to channel their dysphoria into hatred for other trans people, they won't ever have a stable community. they'll always be looking over their shoulder, terrified that falling out of step will relegate them to miserable cisness without any of the massively conditional support of the trusc.um community they've rooted in.

i think a lot of them are also otherwise privileged kids (white, able-bodied, allistic, straight etc.) whose transness robbed them of the privilege they were told they were owed. you can see this in how they talk down to other people— the slurs they use, the traits they consider ugly, the queer aspects they take as proof of faking. i don't expect teenagers to somehow have a full grasp of materialism or the long-term effects hormones have on your social perception but i wish that they'd draw the line at being assholes.

i just want to shake them and tell them that nothing they are doing will save them from transphobia. they don't get to choose who bigots associate them with. they will be put in the same group as femme men and butch women and non-op/non-HRT trans people and genderfuckers and dykes and fags and tards and flamboyant flaming homosexuals and old bulls and old drag queens whose transitions predate them by decades because we are all some kind of dirty queer to bigots. passing will not end that. being stealth will not end that. pointing out detransitioners (and at this point just leave them alone unless you're actually including them in the conversation, they go through enough dealing with GCs' abuse) will not end that. ALL WE HAVE IS EACH OTHER.

there is strength in numbers and being othered has given us quite the number to start out with. lateral oppression is useless. calling someone a tard on the internet doesn't get you HRT faster.
