I also can't remember a singly sex scene in skam France that wasn't sexy? And that's not the point in a TEEN show (I mean only wtfock and their season 3 was worst)

But I think the portrayal was kinda harmful. Tbh. See. I am not trans. But max having issues with sex in the beginning (and tiff maybe should have had those too, she fucking gave birth. That's even traumatising if you want a kid!) is a plot point they integrated and should have handled.

I mean Druck also has a trans love interest and god their sex scene was beautiful. Respectful and they even communicated and it was obvious they were vulnerable, inexperienced and stuff.

And I just think this whole thing??? Like?? Skam France could have done something good. Show that consent is sexy (Druck did that too. Will also always remind me of skam season 2 where William was like even if you don't want to anymore, I can't stop. Like???)

Show them talk. like?? Maybe even explain to tiff that was fucking weird I still forgive you, because out of unreasonable reasons I am in love with you. Bit I am not lacking anything and I don't need a fucking sex Toy. This and that I am insecure, but I still have the hots for you. Let's take it slow.

and Yeah skamfr sex scenes r always literally just abt the sex n how hot n aesthetic it is zero regard for the fact that sex is actually an emotional thing too n involves so much more than a close up of someone's tits or ass msgbsljflsjd but that's just "french culture" am i right 😌.. it's like. if they only did it once or twice it'd be just like Okay! that's one approach to sex for sure, u can portray it like that sometimes! but when it becomes a pattern n they choose the silent passion & sexy aesthetic over realistic n respectful portrayal of teenagers so hard that it overrides canon insecurities & barriers for sex then it becomes a huge problem. i haven't watched wtfock but from what ive seen from other bloggers it seems to be terrible in that too so i definitely belive u :/

also yeah druck did a great job w it i believe! it just puts such a stark contrast on skamfr bc their approach w every couple is so wildly different in a bad way... druck has always put so much respect into it but france doesn't even bother to consider that maybe having sex for the first time after giving birth can be a big deal? or that discussing ur discomfort w intimacy means that u need to sort that out before having sex? it's so weird....if u don't wanna talk abt those things then don't introduce them as plot points, shouldn't be that difficult

it's a day later n i still haven't come to terms w the fact tiff actually did that i just can't comprehend it. like what was the reason. it DOES seem almost offensive but i don't know what we're supposed to think of it 😭bc like ofc there's nothing wrong w using toys as an addition to ur sex life n ur partner should be willing to talk abt those if it's smth u want but i can't help but put it into the context of max being trans like. would tiff have brought that to a cis dude's house for their FIRST time. it's just weird... i guess it's supposed to be like. a joke. tiff being haha silly uwu n we're supposed to find the awkwardness endearing but it just doesn't seem like any of that to me. once again it just comes back to the fact that if we had seen them talk abt it, seen a discussion... max could've talked abt what he's personally okay with n tiff could've been like oh also could we use some toys i would like that. then we didn't have to wonder.

but idk even then i feel like it's SO unnecessary to include The Gift for us to know exactly how these teenagers r gonna have sex like. it should be enough to know that they Did. we don't need to know the details bc even if the actors r older these characters r still like 17 at best? weird as fuck.

n don't even get me STARTED on the fucking willrat thing from the OG that was So disgusting...... like there r hundreds of reasons to hate him but that line alone should be enough yet he still has fans drooling for noorhelm 😐😐😐

bottom line: don't write abt 15-17 year olds if ur goal is to write abt sex. that shouldn't be a controversial opinion either they just have riverdale brain rot

Hellooo so u are like the only skam blog i know still exists lol and i just got back into skam and there are now like a bajillion versions and many new characters so anyway i had two questions.

1) what are ur favorite skams to see (besides the og?) Which ones do u recommend? You can say specific seasons or a whole show!

2) why is it that when i google " skam s3" i get mostly french skam results😂 is it better than the og skam s3 or? When i stopped watching og skam s3 was like. Unparalleled

ok so each skam remake has its issues but my favorites are skamNL, skam españa, and skam austin; though druck is also good. imo these are the only ones worth watching and each of them bring something different to the table!

the ones i like:

skam netherlands: only got 2 seasons but the characters are so fun and stylish and it has a really great vibe, i barely watched season 2 bc that’s the noorhelm season lmfao but anyway i think it’s worth a watch for sure!! i loveee isa (eva) and liv (noora) especially. also esra (she doesn’t have an og skam equivalent) is so beautiful and a lesbian i declare

skam españa: the first 3 seasons were actually so perfect, and then they messed up in the amira (sana) season unfortunately. it also has a really lovely vibe and a lot of love between the characters and the only joneva i would support getting back together! also season 2 has a relationship between 2 bi girls as the focus!!! and season 3 is the only season among all skam versions that deals with abuse & also the only decent noorhelm. i think this one is objectively the best, but also they really dropped the ball in season 4 :(

skam austin: some people think it’s cringey but it’s honestly my favorite! the only female isak (shay!! my url!!!!) and it’s just a ton of fun and sparks joy and i miss it so much - also only got 2 seasons :(((

druck (german skam): i hate mia (noora)’s season more than i can tell you (altho i like mia :( just like fuck druck’s noorhelm & it’s so lesbophobic like...) BUT their season 3 is genuinely so great and original and their even is trans which is just amazing. also they’ve continued with seasons 5 and 6 with a new generation of characters INCLUDING FATOU WHO I WOULD DIE FOR!!!! (lesbian) also good vibes. also they had the least bad sana season i think.

the ones i don’t like

skam france: the one everyone rags on but it deserves it bc it’s legit so bad..... like they took skam (good vibes) and made it into a melodramatic teen show with like sex scenes and literally zero lighting. their evak (eliott and lucas) was pretty good but their other seasons are bad. i wouldn’t even go so far as to say it’s one of the best evaks honestly, but their season 3 is one of skam france’s better seasons, if not the best / only good one. but yeah skam france really took a teen show and made it dramatic and adult-y and it’s just bad vibes

skam italia: racist mess.... dont go near

wtfock (belgian skam): BAD!!!! LITERALLY SO BAD like it has so many offenses i couldn’t even try to recall all of them but i think the worst thing they did was have their evak (robbe & sander) get beaten up for no reason like they just had them get hatecrimed in robbe’s season for shock value lol. horrible show. bad vibes

also to answer your question here is my ranking of the evaks (besides original bc idk where 2 put that bc it has a special place in my heart)

crisana (skam es) but im biased bc they’re the only wlw evak but literally they are great and i love them

davenzi (druck) good sweet vibes & good chemistry :)

elu (skam fr) bc their season was honestly really fun im sorry like sue me. that scene where lucas plays the piano is so romantic

idk their ship name but sander x robbe (wtfock) they had legit good chemistry and were super sweet but the writing..... bad.... also so sexualized rip.......

skam italia’s evak idr their names but aside from skam italia being awful they also had NO CHEMISTRY lmaoooo like the cinematographers started shooting really darks scenes 2 mask how much the actors clearly did not want to kiss each other. comedy....

I really liked skam NL. The vibes were just amazing. The sad part is that it only got 2 seasons and it had all the potential to make a great isak season but we never got it. S2 wasn’t perfect but I really liked the dynamic between the noora and William of the show. Since I didn’t like them much in OG oops lol. The French version be wilding and dramatic for all the wrong reasons most of the time but its one of my fav season 3. But I’m all for drama but make it French. It might not be everybody’s cup of tea but it was mine (for that season anyway) 😂 España had its moments. Not personally a fav but I kinda liked that they stayed with the girl squad the whole show tbh. Skam Italia’s cinematography is on another level. I haven’t watched the first season and I’ve heard from a lot of people that it’s the best season one throughout the skam verse so maybe one day I’ll watch. 2-3 were alright. Definitely had its moments. I think that skam Italia has the best s4. It’s sad tho cause they had a white sana and that kinda makes it like whyyy but the storylines were so cohesive and it was a beautiful ending. But yeah. Sorry for the rambles lol

is skam italia the one where the isak/even parallels kissed in paint??? or was that france??? i was very worried when i saw that bc all i kept thinking was IS THAT NON TOXIC. i haven’t seen much of the cinematography though that’s interesting. god i can’t even remember which are which anymore my brain really is muddled huh

Gio is gonna be a mess as he stands at the alter being marti’s best man. Dudes gonna have tears running down his face. Same applies to bas and his boys. Except maybe Yann cuz he is gonna want to impress him and hold it together so he looks cool for Yann but Arthur and Lucas oh my man is gonna be a puddle of tears.

Another anon: You have any idea how the Belgium audience reacted to s3? I know they loved Zoenne but what about Sobbe? It was popular too? Because wtfock seems to not want to let go of Zoenne because of their popularity but I'm not seeing that with Sobbe. I'm not even talking about clips, because that's the minimum but social media? Robbe and Sander's accounts only seem to be updated on special dates and I think part of that it's because of fandom pressure and not because the team was something prepared.

Another anon: S2 was like that here in Norway too! It was by far the most popular season among us and we were shocked when S3 suddenly blew up and went international. I was never a fan of William but I was in school at the time Nooras season aired and our teachers actually paused some lessons to watch Skam and find out whether William has replied to Noora because no one in the class could concentrate on the lessons lol. S2 was like our living breathing culture here in Norway although in hindsight I think S3 was better written and I was so happy when William left

Another anon: About this zoenne and sobbe debate, I’ve seen some people saying zoenne is more popular in Belgium and Sobbe more popular internationally? It’s interesting the contrast between domestic and international reactions. I wasn’t in the skam fandom during og skam’s original run but apparently something similar ocurred with Noorhelm and Evak...

Another anon: it's interesting how the noorhelms usually do well in their original country, like even the terrrible french one during s2 was popular between the french. og noorhelm got a lot of hate from the international fandom but in Norway they were huuge. I remember people saying that they were even more popular than Evak in Norway (and evak more popular internationally)

S2, yes! That one hit like a bomb, all over Flanders.

I’m guessing, because Nathan and Veerle aren’t bad to look at as well as wtFOCK being at the peak of their popularity back then. Also, it had a good and strong message about SA, feminism, friendship, ...

skam thoughts

hi ok i’m bored n sick so i’m here to give my (maybe unpopular? idk) thoughts on skam + remakes. i have seen most* remakes, but i’ll mention if i have not seen a particular season or not

first off: basic opinions (favorite remakes, favorite characters, etc)

fav jonas/eva remake:

- skam nl (kes/isa) - isa is, in my opinion, the most relatable eva remake. she’s so sassy and lovable! in general i’m not the biggest fan of the season 1 plot, but i think all jonas/eva pairings, chemistry wise, have been phenomenal. isa/kes are just a little bit more impressive in my opinion.

fav noorhelm remake

- this will be of no shock, as this is quite a popular opinion, but wtfock (senne and zoë). most william remakes kind of suck, and the general character dynamic between noora and william is not something i like. i enjoy the plot but a lot of williams are just...ew. i’m interesting in skam españa interpretation (nora and alejandro) but i can’t fully judge their season until it’s over. zoë is such a wonderful character and senne is actually not a dick! i sobbed when they broke up in s3.

fav evak remake

- i’m tied. either skam france/wtfock. i love the (for some reason controversial) dynamic between sander and robbe. i also love elu, like the basic bitch i am. elliott demaury OWNS me.

fav youssana remake

- honestly, i kind of didn’t like any of them (that are released). there’s only two out there, druck and skam france, and i didn’t like any. i’m sorrryyyy i just love sana bakkoush and no one could ever be better than her. oof! disclaimer i have not watched all of amira’s season/druck s4. i wasn’t personally interested but the acting was phenomenal.

alright now to remake-specific comments.

SKAM, the original, the og, love of my life, scandi legend that started this obsession

- honestly one of the best teen shows i’ve ever seen. the development of characters is so prominent. the acting, for mostly amateur teenagers, is mind blowing. maybe american shows just suck? but i’m absolutely in love with every character. they show such realistic stories and i applaud the skam team + actors for portraying their stories so well.

- the one comment i have is the noorhelm relationship. i just? i don’t like it. when i first watched skam i loved it. noora was hilarious (still think that) and the perfect independent woman model. i also liked william. i just wished they showed more of his vulnerability because his kind of static character is not doing it for me. he doesn’t show any evolution or change. idk, he’s still a wet fish in my eyes. obv this has no shade to the actors, thomas hayes is lovely. his character? not so much. i could write a whole essay on how flawed and dislikable william is.

now, the first remake: skam france

skam france, oui oui baguettes this remake really tickles my fancy

- as someone who kind of understands french, i really do like this remake. i have some issues with s1 and s2 but overall it is a solid remake. being the first, it makes sense for the seasons to seems little unoriginal. i still love emma and manon but their characters aren’t very authentic.

- s3 is where they really nailed it. elu’s immense popularity is only a testament to how truly wonderful the season is. the acting, the characters, slight changes in plot. i loved it. a lot.

- i wasnt impressed by s4 but it might just be my extreme love for iman meskini. no one could ever replace her.

- BUT S5. OH BOY. ROBIN. MY BABY. he is such a good actor and i love arthur he MUST be protected! i love that his shame is not romantically related. also as someone who is interested in deaf culture wow! i’m impressed by the research done by skam france. not only is his the first original season but it is excellently executed. noee is my mother i love her.

druck, likely the most liked remake to which i do not disagree with that statement

- druck is legendary. i really appreciate the small changes in plot and character dynamics that create an identity for each remake and druck is so so good at doing that. mia’s season is lovely and so is matteo’s, as well as the other two. i did not finish amira’s season as wtfock s3 started and i was a little too invested in that haha but i liked what i saw. the mia/noora drama annoyed me but it was okay. i saw it in the way how we all beg for evak/elu/nicotino/etc content in later seasons but then complain when noorhelm/jonas and eva content occur in later seasons, which is weird at best or just fetishization of gay couples at worst. take ur pick. i like it when previous plot lines kind of intertwine into the current ones as it shows that people’s shakes are not temporary and have immense effects on others (which is the point of skam, right?

skam italia, the controversial remake that said bye and then uno-reversed itself (thanks netflix)

- a lot of people don’t like skam italia. it’s understandable, as the actress for sana is not a woc or muslim. however, it is slightly understandable (but not defendable, i was way too disappointed when i found this out) given italy and it’s cultural background. it astonished me that they could even produce an isak remake due to their pretty strong religious beliefs. italy is very much roman catholic, and gay marriage isn’t even legal there (this is the only skam where gay marriage is not legalized). so i give them major props to facing potential backlash in producing s2/marti’s season. it makes sense for there to not be a muslim/woc actress because of the demographics in italy. ww1 and ww2 really spun a number on italy’s race, as many jews and romas as well as pretty much any non-italian ethnicity were kicked out. this creates barriers especially when it comes to hiring a woc actress. skam italia is already breaking barriers when it came to controversial topics (literally all of skam would be controversial in italy’s alt-right view, it seems). tl;dr: kudos for being able to produce a pro-gay show but shame for not being able to hire a woc actess.

- i loved marti’s season as was a fan of the other two seasons. they’re well produced and beautiful and more dramatic than the other skams imo! the soundtrack is absolutely gorgeous.

skam austin, the american cousin no one seems to like that really lives up to the american stereotype

- ok. when i first saw austin/the fact that they made an american remake, i hated it. disgusting. i hâte america as it is. it was cringey, the acting was bad (i’m sorry i’m sorry), and it got rid of the charm that skam had.

- when i watched it a second time around, i changed my mind. i think grace’s season redeemed it a lil bit. it’s living proof that skam remakes must be watched twice or more to fully formulate an opinion. it’s still cringey but i mean, it’s very accurate to american culture. i’m ashamed to say that i, an american, have said many phrases that austin has used.

- skam austin isn’t THAT bad as people make it out to be. i think americans esp are uncomfortable with a skam from their own culture, myself included. and it’s fine to not vibe with it and prefer other skam remakes. i think the actors are okay, better when i saw it the second time, and the editing/music/videography is beautiful (ofc julie andem is a part of it). people give it crap for being american.

skam nl, may she rest in peace or pull an italia and 180 us

- man i was so depressed when i heard that lucas vdh was not getting his season. lucas is downright one of my favorite isak remakes and his story would’ve been so interesting.

- besides that, skam italia has one of the best eva seasons. it is my favorite and is usually a lot of others favorites as well. isa is just so relatable. liv’s season is also incredibly well produced. i didn’t hate noah! it was a miracle come true. he redeemed the william character if only for one remake.

- my one comment/critic isn’t even that serious. it’s just? dutch? it sounds so...weird. i’m a stupid american but i cracked up at things that were definitely NOT jokes because of the language. i’m sorry netherlands/holland i do not mean to laugh.

skam españa, also controversial for good reasons but also conflictingly good

- alright folks. i am confused with skam españa. i don’t know if i love it or like it.

- hear me out. we all know of the controversy with the panphobic comment that nora made. it was stupid and uncalled for and really disrespected the whole pan community of viewers. now, not many people are pan but for a show where an original character (even bech næsheim, love of my life) is canonically pan? it was kind of a slap to the face.

- besides the comment i loved cris’ season. it was refreshing to get an isak season where it was a she, one, and where isak was not living with his eskild but instead had a family. it was also beautifully shot and i love irene with my entire heart.

- that said, i liked eva’s season. nora’s season is interesting. maybe it’s because it’s the first i’ve watched multiple seasons live (españa and france) and have no attention span and is more interested in skam france s5? idk. the clips aren’t really doing it for me. i love the viri clips but the nora clips are eh. she just seems very...in genuine? idk. i also hate miquel get his ugly ass out of here. i can’t fully analyze the season until it’s over but i’m not really interested in it. i also don’t like the noorhelm plot or dynamic at all so that may be it.

wtfock, or another controversial remake that imo shouldn’t be controversial

- wow. i love wtfock. s1 was rocky and i wasn’t sure of how it would be. s2 SLAPPED ME THRU THE ROOF. god i love senne de smet so much. zoë is actually redeemable??? and oh my god milan is my favorite eskild like please adopt me.

- season 3 was the first one i watched live. i arrived to the skam scene late so i didn’t get to experience march madness aka 5 live skams at once and i wish i did. but wow. willem ds and willem h really are one of the main reasons why wtfock s3 did so well. they’re amazing actors with incredibly chemistry.

- the controversy that imo should be controversy: the gay bashing scene. i was surprised at the backlash. people were upset over the fact that they showed such...intense events without immediate remediation. it’s understandable to be mad but? they were criticizing things that had no correlation with the scene, like the willems’ acting or the music picked. it was very wild. they also did a lot of bitching about how lgbt people should see gay bashing because it’ll bring back bad memories and that skam was for the gays only and should cater for only lgbt people. which i heavily disagree with. 1) gay bashing in media is so prevalent and downright important. things can’t be fluffy gay all the time. this happens in real life and does such a great complement to noor’s comment about how no one cares that robbe is gay because it’s 2019. THAT. IS. SO. IMPORTANT. it’s so so important to realize that despite the strides made for lgbt people, gay bashing and violent homophobia. still. exist. also. i would like to direct you to these examples of gay bashing where no one blinked an eye : queer as folk, where s1 justin gets bashed in at his prom and has difficulties drawing; s2 (i think? may be s1) skam españa where lucas rubio gets bashed; skam s4 where even and isak encounter a homophobic dick; these examples are endless. the one thing that miffed me the most was that many critics acted as if they were forced to watch wtfock and therefore criticize its every move. like no? you have a choice? no one is forcing you. quite the opposite! wtfock is geoblocked! you’re actually forcing yourself because you’re taking the time to find illicit resources in order to watch it! alright man i’m done with this rant. many also criticized the writing of the show. it was shaky but watching it a 2nd time, where all clips were released, was so much better when it came to clarity. many ‘poor writing choices’ made sense in the larger picture. again another example that you should watch skam remakes twice to understand the big picture.

- tl;dr wtfock is lovely and should not be criticized for one wrong move.

ranking the williams according to my personal preference because i made a post about them and i feel the need to make a stand.

senne de smet. are you surprised? he had me even in season 2 but he got the crown with his A+ personality on season 3. he is a rounded character, we get to know him outside of zoe as well. he is a great friend, great brotherly figure to robbe and he is a boy who is doing his best to be a supportive boyfriend. wtfock writers really did an amazing job with him.

noah boom. sorry folks, this is not a least problematic list. like everyone else, i did not like some clips™ in season 2 but noah is the only william that has a flashed out personality in season 2. i love him and he loves liv so much. he is interesting, soft spoken and unique. IF WE HAVE A SEASON THREE HE WILL PROBABLY BE MY NUMBER ONE I JUST WANT TO SEE HIM AGAIN PLS THANK YOU. this dork carries a mug to school and hits his crush on the head with a book. #saveskamnl

alex hardenberg. he is the biggest dork ever and i blame chris veres for this ranking as well. winterberg was a healty couple, alex had this witty playful aura and i loved his vulnerablity. his panic attack scene is still clear in my mind, great writing and acting. thank you druck (let's not talk about how they messed up in the last episode of season 4, bye)

alejandro beltran. alejandro, sweetie. i'm so sorry that an ugly bitch like me would even say that, oh my god. for real though, i love him!! and i'm 99% he would rank higher after i watch season 3. i definietly like him more than other season1!williams, he is a puppy. he has so much potential and chemistry with nora, i'm actually so excited for the new season to start.

daniel williamson. an american version of my least favorite character from the og?? this was a nightmare. but, skam austin season 2 did AN AMAZING JOB handling grace's journey, yes it was too white™ at the times but daniel grew on me, what can i say?

eduardo incanti. the clip where he sings creep still haunts me, what a man. also, he has points for breaking a chair on the back of a homophobe. its just that i don't have a strong connection with skam italia, esp season 3. but he is ok.

the rest doesn't rank, i don't like them. i feel sorry for the french noorhelm because they have great chemistry and the actors seem nice & a cute couple in real life. i don't take constructive critisism because this is purely based on personal preference :) :)

You mentioned that you didn't know Skam had a Spanish remake until s2, so I got super curious. Did you watch Skam back in the day? Had you watched any remakes before eskam? What made you start watching eskam, and what were your thoughts on Nora and Alejandro (individually and as a couple) before s3?

oh i will put a read more on this because it got too long

i watched skam before, yes! i got to know about it in 2016 and the first clip that i ever watched on real time was the speech eskild gave isak about pride. i really loved s3, so i watched s1 and s2 and kept up with s4 for about half of the season - i can’t remember why i stopped watching but it probably had something to do with the little time that i had back then and the work that one had to do to search and watch every individual clip subtitled on dailymotion.

when i came to know about the remakes idea i was like, fuck no. lol, because i thought og was pretty good on its own and the idea of having the same show in so many other versions is just so weird to me? i still kept up with some remakes via seeing their tag whenever it trended on tumblr, like skamfr and skamit. those were the most popular ones, and also the ones with evak seasons, ha. that is why austin, wtfock and nl were the ones i knew about the last.

i tried watching skamfr to see what was all the fuss about, i remember i chose that because i like the language and i was trying to learn french. you can imagine how that went lol i gave up on like, episode 8? because i was honestly bored and watching the super unnatural, fast delivery of the actors made me miss og SO much (i still watch og s3 every once in a while, it’s for me what the kids call now a comfort show).

i only came to know about skam españa when the trailer for cris’ season dropped and everyone started to freak out because a) finally another evak season, and b) it’s about two girls! i was pumped bc the wlw rep and THEN i realized it was a remake in my first language. if i had known about it before i definitely would’ve watched that one first. i kept up with the remake because it was super easy with the clips dropping in youtube, and though i wasn’t the biggest fan of cris back then and it didn’t resonate w me the way og had done, it was well done and i didn’t need subtitles to understand it. after i finished it, i watched s1 and found it way more compelling than skamfr s1 had felt to me, but i really didn’t have any desires of watching every single remake, until i made this sideblog.

i never really cared that much about nora on s1 and s2. i think josefine’s portrayal of noora was so charming and iconic on s1 and nicole didn’t get to those standards, but she def was a really good friend to eva. my problem is that her actions seemed way too... performative? in previous seasons. a highlight of that would be nora telling eva about her “joan of arc” nickname in s1. having s3 to close off her development makes it all really nuanced, but at the time i just didn’t buy her feminist rhetoric - although that’s more of a noora problem. it also reminded me a bit of myself, the kind of things i’d say because i read them on tumblr and how there was always a challenge to stand my ground whenever i tried to pull that with my family or my classmates, that helped me to shape my morality. and i think skames got a bit of that, too: the whole pansexuality thing, nora telling cris that she didn’t have to put up with joana’s MI, etc. i think it was refreshing to see a character that thought so highly of herself and her morality, be put on her place by people who knew better, and she never took it hard or got angry because of that. because there wasn’t a lot of depth to her in s2 and just kept on being the cool, supportive friend, i was okay w her but didn’t like her as much as the others. with s3, of course that drastically changed for me.

i think i summed up my impression of alejandro really well on my s1 review, and because i watched s2 first i immediately assumed he’d be the typical william and i was an anti noorhelm when i watched og, so i was super wary of him (there’s also my tags here that sum up how i was feeling about him at the time). rewatching og s1 and s2 made me really appreciate some of the changes: small things like alejandro wearing a condom to have sex with viri, inviting the girls to his halloween party as an apology, being invited to cris’ house party where she came out to her friends, and big things like him not gifting girls he slept with hoodies to mark them, instead causing a (hilarious and skames’ best choice in s1) std outburst that only talked about his promiscuity and status as a fuckboy; apologizing to viri because he realized he was in the wrong and not because nora “promised” him a date if he did it; despite his william-esque “i won’t stop until you say yes” line in s1, effectively stopping to try to creepily hit on nora in s2 and instead becoming friends with her and the girl squad; and then everything that happened in s3.

about norandro, i was never a big fan of them. i had the same concerns about their relationship that i had with alejandro, and i thought they would be the annoyingly toxic token straight couple of the show. during s2′s airing i was pretty pissed that skames kept shifting the pov to develop their relationship, because i thought (and still think) that they could’ve squeezed more growth out of cris, although looking back it’s fine, really. before s3 i saw what they were doing to build them up and i was pleased and VERY curious about it - until i learnt about miquel’s existence and realized that skames would go for the toxic relationship route. absolutely nothing would’ve prepared me by how charmed i was by their dynamic and how they became my favorite couple in skames, lol.
