I really love how the entire bathroom scene came out from I Think We’re Alone Now! but particularly this part
I love the exchange between Gandra and Della where Gandra tells her problem isn’t that simple to which Della assures her it can’t be that complicated. I really wanted to capture Della’s optimistic and supportive nature to contrast with Gandra’s cynical and private nature
I loved the growth Della went through in Season 2 and really loved how afterwards she became a very supportive character and honestly a bit wiser. I can just see her wanting to help a random woman she doesn’t know who may be in danger. After all, she made some stupid decisions in her past that she wouldn’t want anyone else go through.
Of course this is followed by the true best part of this entire scene
And yes. Nothing will ever be funnier to me than Della Duck singing Why Should I Worry while wasted out of her mind
25. Excerpt that I consider a favorite
Well this is always changing. But I’d say the entire arcade scene between Dewey and Gandra from Let’s All Go to the Movies! is a favorite of mine
I’m sorry Gandra, I just love pairing you up with well meaning idiots. You were just created to be the perfect snarky straight man in a conversation and I will always use that
I love the idea of Dewey and Gandra being paired up for an adventure because it makes sense but is also kind of a subversion as well as a deconstruction of both characters and who they normally get paired up with in my eyes
To Dewey, Gandra Dee is just another cool adult friend of the family. He’s used to teaming up with people like Launchpad, Della, and Kit who were automatically like “Hey this kid thinks I’m cool! Of course I can teach you how to be awesome like me!”
To Gandra, Dewey Duck just the stupid brother of her boyfriend’s friend who is like a preteen from that rich family. I think it’d take her time to adjust to Dewey’s energy
But I like this duo because typically I see Gandra’s science side expanded upon and not enough of her spy side. While Huey might look up to Gandra for her intelligence and scientific side, Dewey would look up to her for her badass spy stuff. And both sides of Gandra need to be appreciated

10. What is one feature you wish Tumblr had?
Kinda in the same vein as Facebook, the ability to have different reactions to posts when leaving a note (like, shocked face, etc.)

This one from @foxymc. I definitely appreciate it whenever someone compliments me on my writing. I’m not always super consistent with putting it up, so stuff like this reminds me that yes, people still do pay attention whenever I post a story.

1. Named after anyone?
Technically? My parents mashed together the names of two religious figures to get my name.
2. Last time you cried?
...yesterday. I cry very easily, and I was sad that my plans to go to the mall today had fallen through, and also I was anxious about the concept of emotional vulnerability (separate from the mall thing).
3. Do you have kids?
Nope. I do have a dog, though. He's a grumpy old man but he's also my baby son child whom I adore.
4. What sports do you play/have played?
I played soccer when I was a lot younger, which was the only sport I ever really liked. I also played basketball in fifth grade, but I didn't like it very much. Haven't played any sports since.
5. do you use sarcasm?
Mostly just to tell my family members that they are "so funny. hilarious. a comedian." when they make short jokes about me. I also say things along the lines of "this is a fantastic idea that can only end well for everyone involved." about my obviously bad ideas. Other than that, not a lot.
6. First thing you notice about people?
Hair. There are people in my classes who I know nothing about other than the fact that I think they have very cool hair, and it makes them stick in my mind.
7. Eye colour?
Blue.
8. scary movie or happy ending?
Happy ending.
9. any talents?
I get a lot of compliments on my writing. I also think I'm good at climbing, but only things that aren't strictly meant to be climbed. Oh, and I have a talent for naming things. (Plants, stuffed animals, figurines, drawings, etc. The exception to this is my ocs. For some reason, I can never give my ocs cool names. All of their names are boring.)
10. where were you born?
USA.
11. hobbies?
Writing! Almost any form of it! I love writing, and I don't really have a ton of other hobbies that I can remember.
12. any pets?
The previously mentioned dog. He's a mix of several small and scruffy dog breeds, probably has some dachshund and yorkie, maybe schnauzer as well. He's a very good boy who has a lot of audacity sometimes. (He climbed onto my lap during dinner, sat there, waited until I was distracted, and calmly ate a slice of pizza.)
13. How tall are you?
Not sure, but I have only one friend who is shorter than me that I know of. Also my siblings are on track to outgrow me, a dilemma which is the bane of my entire existence.
14. favourite subject?
English/Composition. I love writing, and it's a class I'm good at.
15. dream job?
Currently, some kind of library worker/assistant. I love the idea of helping people and being a part of all the resources that libraries offer, but I also don't really want all the pressure and time-consuming stuff that goes into a higher-level librarian job. I guess the actual dream would be working as a library volunteer, I've done that and absolutely loved it but that's not a paying job. I'd also like a job that allows me to write in my free time.

💖 Which of your fics is your pride and joy?
Let’s All Go to the Movies! In a couple of months that fic will be a year old and I still find myself not shutting up about it and reminding my mutuals I wrote that story. And surprisingly, I wanna write a sequel for that one so hopefully I can get started on that some time this year

These are all wonderful, but I think I’ll go with fic comments. Kudoses are great of course, but there’s something special about someone taking time out of their day to let you know that they liked your work and it’s even more special when they’re specific

12. Do you outline your fics? If yes, how detailed are your outlines? How far do you stray from them?
NOPE! I really should tho. Sometimes I will write down stuff I want to happen in the story in a notebook but never really go from there
23. Is writing the beginning, middle, or end of the story easiest? Hardest?
Most annoying answer: It depends. Each part has it its ups and downs and stuff I struggle with. Sometimes i don’t write the beginning part until much later I guess maybe the middle part I’d say is the easiest once I get into writing the story. To me, end of a story is always tricky because I’m afraid I’m rushing myself. I just wanna get the story done but know I shouldn’t rush myself

Donald's Sister A House of Mouse fanfic?? sounds interesting
Unfortunately I don’t have much to show for this one, but in my head I want this structured like an actual House of Mouse episode! I’ll give you somewhat of a summary of what I have in mind for the story
Basically, Della Duck gets hired to work at the House of Mouse by Donald, who didn’t tell Mickey until after Della tells Mickey that she’s there to work after dropping the boys off late for their opening gig.
Mickey begrudgingly agrees because Donald is his friend and Della does seem eager to work there. Only problem is, no one knows what job she should do since all the staff positions are taken and Della is quite bad at all the tasks she’s given
I do have in mind what her job will be at the end of the story. But I ain’t telling it here

🍓 What’s a fic you’ve written you feel is underrated?
From the amount of views it got, I’m surprised that Caught with Her Pants Down! doesn’t have at least twenty kudos
I tell myself that a lot of those views are just the people who already kudos’d it re-reading it so I can sleep better at night /j
But hey, the people who did like it really liked it and that’s a great feeling
🍌 In your opinion, what’s the funniest joke/reference/pun you’ve made in a fic?
This joke from Indi-Quack!’s What’d I Miss?! is just a number of references smushed together
“Please, you’re only two years older than your delightful ol’ pal, you’re not that old.” Gandra assured the duck. “Besides, you look good for your age. Gyro looks like if Rusty Venture got into a teleporter accident with the dean from Community.”
“Ha!” Della punched Gandra in her arm, “I don’t know who that last guy is, but I’m sure your description is spot-on!”
You can’t convince me that both Della and Gandra aren’t Adult Swim Stoners and aren’t fans of Venture Bros. And yeah, I know I’m not the first one to draw parallels between Rusty and Gyro, but it’s true!
Every DuckTales fan knows which DT17 actors were on NBC’s/Yahoo Screen’s Community so I couldn’t resist reminding the reader that Jim Rash played both Dean Pelton and Gyro Gearloose. And yeah, Della was on the moon when Community first aired so she’s never heard of the show
The teleporter accident is a reference to the Star Trek Voyager episode Tuvix where Lieutenant Tuvok and Chef Neelix fuse into one person that calls himself Tuvix. Janeway kills him. Anyway, this reference is actually alludes to the fact that Gandra is Trekkie which of course is revealed in the Gizmocloud scene. Gandra’s favorite Star Trek series is either Deep Space Nine or Voyager cause she’s that much of a hipster. DS9 is great tho
Also I just love that even though Della doesn’t full understand all of Gandra’s references, she still loves the joke because it’s insulting Gyro
