Point Wilson Lighthouse

The Point Wilson Light is an active aid to navigation located in Fort Worden State Park near Port Townsend, Jefferson County, Washington.

Point Wilson marks the western side of the entrance to Admiralty Inlet from the Strait of Juan de Fuca and is an important landmark for vessels traveling to and from Puget Sound. The current light was built in 1914, but a lighthouse has been established at the site since 1879.

After the construction of the current light the original 1879 structure was used as a keepers dwelling. The light was automated in 1972 and is currently monitored via computer within the Coast Guard Air Station at Port Angeles. As of today the light is currently leased to the U.S. Lighthouse Society, who is offering overnight stays in a nearby restored Coast Guard dwelling.

This is concrete. A site-specific dance film, and the second collaboration between myself and incredible choreographer Alice Gosti + the dance company Malacarne, will be screening at several film festivals during the fall and winter of 2023.
