Roger has been nominated 'Best Lead Performance' for his role as Jack Leary in Fort Solis in GameLuster's 2023 GOTY Awards! It is so richly deserved. 👏👏
Other nominees include:
Ben Starr as Clive Rosfield in Final Fantasy XVI
Nadji Jeter as Miles Molares in Marvel's Spider-Man 2
Neil Newbon as Astarion in Baldur's Gate 3
Xalavier Nelson Jr. as James Savage in El Paso Elsewhere
Hope you're having a good summer! Here's some games that came out last month that I missed:
The Banished Vault - Very Positive reviews, sci-fi strategy with a great art style!
Garage: Bad Dream Adventure - Very Positive reviews, looks very gnarly and weird (I say this lovingly)
The elephant in the room here is Baldur's Gate 3 on August 3rd, which doesn't need little old me advertising it. 😉
Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical comes out August 10th. I played the demo a while back and it was a little slow, but I respect the concept of making a fully voiced-and-sang visual novel. And its got a star-studded cast!
Sea of Stars releases on August 29 - difficult for me to recommend because I hated the studios other game, The Messenger. But it looks just gorgeous, and the soundtrack is by Yasunori Mitsuda, so I'm grudgingly keeping an eye on it.
En Garde! - August 16 (One of my favorite demos in June's Next Fest!)
The Cosmic Wheel of Sisterhood - August 16 (witchy roleplaying tarot-deck maker?)
Fort Solis - August 22 (story-driven FPS space walking sim)
Under the Waves - August 29 (story-driven undersea sad man game)
Roger just dropped a new audiobook this week, and the amount of ppl thinking it was going to be Undead Nightmare 2 was kinda funny and sad because, if there was to be any kind of announcement in regards to RDR2 DLC, the announcement would come from Rockstar themselves, not Roger.
Roger has no control of what Rockstar does. Not to mention, there's always the issue of those pesky NDA's, Roger wouldn't/couldn't be able to talk about the situation regardless. 🤷🤷♀️
It's also a little sad because it seems people don't expect anything other that RDR from him ☹️. Like, yeah I get it, Arthur is an amazing character and it's Roger's biggest work to date and it is what made him so popular, so he's not gonna be able to shake him off anytime soon, perhaps never.
But he also has other accomplishments too, he has done theater, movies, other games, he has a plethora of audiobooks available. It's obvious the man is very talented and I for one, do not want to peg him to just "Arthur". Also, there's the upcoming Fort Solis game where he plays Jack Leary, which, depending on how well it's received by the audience, it could be a very big title too and could be another great character to his resume, but we'll see how the game fares, only time will tell.
