#tried to talk about it on vc but no one's paying attention haha#talkin about it here cuz I've been meaning to share with. someone#hi if you're reading this:)#peter prattles#anyways. started a new project recently; i got a model for my mask so I'm thinking about printing it out?#got the STL (STereoLithography (file format for CAD software made by 3d systems)) files fhe other day; they look like they'll fit well toge#ther after i print them; so that's good. not a lot of sanding ill have to do on the main face shell; 8&#augh#*; it's already textured#i keep pressing comma. stop#anyways. got the files; it took FOREVER to splice but that's alright. i haveta do it regardless#*slice not splice#the whole process of slicing something (FOR 3D MODELING BY THE WAY) is really interesting; i should look more into that#the thing is; the files and info I got on them didn't say what orientation to print the mask in? that was odd#it also didn't say what fill / support types to use. but I'll figure that out in the morning#oh! my favourite part I'm working on for the mask is that it is able to attach / detach in specific sections; so it's easily disassembled#I'm using neodymium magnets (specifically 10mmx1mm or 1/16in discs) to connect it all together#I'm thinking about making it disconnect in about 4/6 different places? four for sure#not sure about the last two though. thinking about making the LENSES of the mask detachable; but i feel like they're more likely to fall of#uhoh i think i did something wrong#i printed (or started to print at least) the domed mesh on the 3d printer instead of the specifically labeled resin printer. i don't have j#I don't have a resin printer#wow there's a lot of tags. okay#so many thoughts in my head apparently#eh whatever. hear about my 3d prints boy#there's an option to make a ventilated mask; or one without the vents at the front#the vents are just small cavities near the front of the mask#right near the nose / mouth would be#ohh it's actually lined up beautifully; it blends right into the webbing on the front of the face#face? mask? eh

unpopular opinion the Maya models don’t look bad at all. But at the same time the only ones that look good to me are the ones in darker clothing, with darker skin, etc etc because YOU CANT TELL THERES NO FUCKING TEXTURING!!!!!!!!!
#rwde#also mostly talking about how the Maya models looked in v4-5 and somewhat 6 because#Wow the moment they put in that really chunky shading that looks ugly. IT LOOKED UGLY#characters like ilia looked good to me. no im not saying that cuz im her bff bestie forever friendship bracelet im genuine#adams design fucking sucked but I will not lie he looked good. and he looked fucking stellar in the short with his old design.#though again. that short had bloom lighting. and bloom lighting clutches all#they made his horns look like horns! yes we lost the mask texturing in the war but also WE GAVE HIS ASS ACTUAL HORN LOOKING HORNS!!!!!#ok enough stroking the only two characters I talk about on this account.#nora looked good! she wore bright colors yes but she also had that blacker jacket.#Ruby’s design also sucked but imo i feel it translated decently into Maya!#but then we get to v7 and you can noticeably tell stuff starts looking shitty outside of the backgrounds.#They smoothed out the girls faces. Will not lie it sometimes looks like they just copied Ruby’s base four times#and only editted the busy size or height to make the girls. The shading makes stuff look bad. The bloom lighting is gone.#Obviously I’m not wanting to blame the animators or modelers as they are for sure overworked to make this.#And as A 3D animator and modeler myself I do genuinely hope these people can be treated well.#But sadly just…. the models after v7 ain’t it for me

discovering a new trend in my life where every time they release a new bad open world pokemon game i inevitably get really into breath of the wild again. we should’ve stopped making games after that i think

everytime i open* my pc the wizardry 6 manual stares at me
#i lied about being a puzzle gamer first. im a puzzle gamer second before being a patient gamer#i do have patience.#i can read a manual. i have an attention span.#<- affirmations#*- i keep it ON. it takes forever to startup for some reason#powering it on is one thing but sometimes its short so its ok#but the loading after entering my windows password has consistently taken forever.... anyway#the last dungeon crawler i played i played only a little of#it was the first hour of smt soul hackers on the 3ds#it was great!#didn't play past the first battle introduction dungeon but it was nice :]#the first time will always be difficult but if it clicks i think i'll have a good time#although i may have an easier time with the sfc games#oh well!
