What are your thoughts on the comparisons some people make between Hunt//low and Caleb and Evelyn / Wittewife? Personally, I have them to be annoying.

OHOHOH BUDDY DO NOT EVEN GET ME STARTED.

at the risk of sounding too aggressive about it, it genuinely beyond infuriates me. We don’t know much about Evelyn other than it being clearly hinted at without a shadow of a doubt that she was a Clawthorne, so from knowing that and knowing the similarities in her silhouette and name to Eda’s it can only be assumed it’s a narrative choice to illustrate she is the most like the Wittewife/the Wittewife is most like her. That being said, Willow is the further thing away from having that Clawthorne fire I’ve ever seen. She’s chaotic and fiery, yeah, but not like Eda and by extension assumably Evelyn. The most we know about Evelyn is that she “tempted” Caleb into coming to the demon realm and that they ended up falling in love and (presumably) having a baby. Willow wasn’t even close to the reason for Hunter leaving his abusive home life. Sure, she was one of his first few “sorta” friends after ASIAS, but the one thing that convinced him to leave was knowing Belos would kill him if he came back. Even Flapjack wasn’t the one to convince him. The one person that would be closest to the Wittewife in personality and support (or attempted support) in leaving the coven other than Eda is Luz, his adoptive sister. She has the Clawthorne chaos and fire and is always there to support Hunter when we’ve barely seen Hunter and Willow interact on screen in the past few eps other than her supporting him physically when he couldn’t stand because of his sigil and cutting his hair for him completely platonically. And we clearly know that Luz and Hunter obviously isn’t being implied because that’s gross. And clearly Willow has not been interested in a romance with him whatsoever in canon so. There is literally not a single fucking similarity between the two.

And further, it feels like the same people going crazy and getting super excited about the haircut to distance himself from Caleb & the ones getting upset that his eyes are brown so he looks more like Caleb are then talking about Willow/Evelyn hypothetical parallels for ✨romance✨. Like, I need you guys to pick a side. Do you want a Hunter who has so far divorced himself from his ortet so he can find himself or do you want Hunter constantly paralleling Caleb because you think the idea would be cute of a noncanon love interest also paralleling the Wittewife.
