How the Galaxy Family would play Stardew Valley
(For context: Stardew Valley is a popular farming sim that encourages various types of gameplay strategies/pacing for players. Hence why I’m speculating how the Galaxy Family members would play Stardew Valley.)
Galaxy:
He goes into the game blind. So he finds everything super exciting and tries to explore everything!
He would be like a very enthusiastic let’s player on YouTube. “omg, this place is so pretty! this place is so pretty too! omg, these crops look so yummy!” “everyone is so nice!” “that was a good day! I can’t wait for tomorrow to begin!”
He would start his game with a Standard Farm. But when he gets introduced to Willy, who gives him a fishing rod, he’ll go like ‘YOU CAN GO FISHING IN THIS GAME?! WHY DIDN’T ANYONE TELL ME?!’ and then start over on a Riverland farm
You bet he will fish for a LOT of pufferfish. I believe pufferfish are one of the most high-selling fish in the game. So even though Galaxy Steve would make a huge profit from all the pufferfish he’s collected, he’d be reluctant to sell them. He would use pufferfish all the time in his sashimi recipe.
He still farms because he finds it very satisfying to grow crops and sell them for a huge profit. He really wants to upgrade his house into a kitchen as soon as possible so he can cook fish!
He will name every single chicken Sabre.
Illusion:
He tries the game after hearing so many good things about it...and immediately gets overwhelmed by everything the game has to offer.
He reads the Stardew Valley wiki very carefully and watches a billion of “tips and tricks” videos on YouTube before he resumes his current game.
He tries to follow along to exactly what people suggest, and he gets really stressed when something in the game (like luck, quests, enemies in the mine, or lack of materials) disrupts the plan he’s trying to follow.
When things go HORRIBLY wrong (like all of his newly planted seeds dying because he forgot the season was gonna change), he’ll just shut off the computer and stop playing for a long LONG time.
But he’ll eventually get back to playing it.
Elemental:
I’m not sure how he would play Stardew Valley. I think he would mainly play the game to unwind from a long day.
I imagine that when he first starts the game, he gets confused and frustrated that he can’t enter rooms/houses until he reaches 2 hearts with NPCs. After all, he’s so used to seeing everything in the In-Between, so he won’t be used to the idea of some rooms and locations in the game not being accessible, and that he actually has to work to unlock/explore them.
Time:
Ok, ok, ok, Time is gonna use his future vision to exploit the game.
He put away the TV in his farm and never needs to look at the TV, wiki, calendar, or bulletin board. Thanks to his future vision, he knows exactly what’s gonna happen each day. So when he plays the game, he just immediately gets to work and doesn’t stop moving.
He’s able to time everything perfectly and has made the perfect system to sell/achieve everything. He never has an empty watering can when he needs to water crops. He never has a full inventory space when he stumbles upon rare items. He never leaves the farm without a hoe when he knows he’ll find Artifact Spots on certain days. And he is able to talk to every single villager daily, even the most reclusive ones, because he’s able to plan when/where to meet them with future vision.
Void:
Refuses to try the game because he thinks he won’t like it.
His family will probably tease him about the Void chickens though.
Memory:
Makes it his goal to raise an army of Void chickens for.....reasons.
Panics when he gifts a villager an item they hate.
He actually doesn’t understand the appeal of the villagers. He finds it strange that a video game would try to simulate what a real life community would feel like. As someone who erases memories, he’ll find it hard to accept that you’re supposed to make “good memories” with these villagers.
That said, he’ll think the Dark Shrine of Memory is a joke, since he is a Steve who can erase memories just by breaking eye contact with someone.

Why are ladies accused of witchcraft? Study in rural China offers clue
Vodoo From medieval witch hunts in Europe to up to date “witch doctors” in Tanzania, perception in witchcraft has existed throughout human societies through heritage. Anthropologists have long been fascinated by the phenomenon, but have struggled to examine it with quantitative strategies – our knowing of how and why it arises is consequently inadequate. But a examine we carried out of one particular Chinese area presented an chance to test the most widespread hypothesis – that witchcraft accusations act as punishment for people who do not cooperate with nearby norms. According to this principle, witch tags mark supposedly untrustworthy people and inspire other individuals to conform out of dread of currently being labelled. Nevertheless, some empirical studies have revealed that witch labelling instead undermines have faith in and social cohesion in a society. Our research is based on 800 households in 5 villages in south-western China. We examined the social conduct of these who were labelled with a “witch” tag, and in contrast it with those who were not. The operate, published in Nature Human Conduct, was the basis of a long-time period collaboration amongst experts from College School London, the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing and Lanzhou University. To determine the social networks and cooperation among homes, we conducted house-to-residence surveys, asking who had youngsters, marriages and partnerships with whom. We also gathered info on gift-supplying, and on functioning groups on farms for the duration of harvest and planting seasons to see who was assisting other households with their farming. All these steps gave rise to 4 social networks in between households dependent on kinship, reproductive companions, presents exchanged or farm function. Magic poison Whilst in the location, we have been sometimes warned not to take in in specific households, as ladies there were thought to be supernatural “poison givers”. The label they used – “zhu” or “zhubo” – is often also translated as “witch”. It was frequent expertise which residences ended up so labelled and we had been shocked to locate it accounted for 13% of the homes. The tag was one of the strongest predictors of assortment on social networks. These from tagged households rarely experienced youngsters or partnerships with these from untagged homes, nor did they trade gifts or function on every single others’ farms extremely usually. Even so, tagged households ended up helping every single other and reproducing with every single other, which mitigated the fees of exclusion from mainstream social networks. We also played an “economic game” in the villages, exactly where each and every man or woman was presented a small sum of funds and questioned to donate any proportion of it they wished to the village (to be divided amid all the players). We discovered no evidence that those tagged as “witches” have been any much less cooperative in this recreation than any others. In fact, we found that labelled households had been really related to other homes, besides the tagged households have been far more very likely to be headed by ladies and were actually a bit wealthier than average. We also identified that the method of obtaining the label was opaque. Even victims typically did not know who experienced started a rumour about them, they might just start to recognize others staying away from them. Some resources report such tags managing in the loved ones, with daughters inheriting the position from their moms. Consequently the origin of the slur could have transpired prolonged back. Deciphering the outcomes Anthropologists who believe that the dread of decline of popularity (by witch labelling or other reasons) can be a massive driver of cooperation in the wider group frequently again their arguments with laboratory experiments utilizing economic game titles. This kind of experiments also show that people who punish transgressors can gain reputational benefits on their own. Nonetheless true planet examples of this are tough to arrive by. Most research of witchcraft are not quantitative and do not take a look at social networks as we have completed. Although this review implies there is no proof that these labelled with this harmful tag have been uncooperative, it does not entirely explain why these kinds of accusations stick in some situations and not in other folks. Our summary is that witch accusation has progressed from competitors between households. Labelling may have turn into a way for individuals to get in advance of their rivals and achieve a aggressive gain in copy or assets. However, the resources of opposition may possibly be distinct in different instances. There are other explanations that could apply as well. All around the planet conceptions of witchcraft share a lot of frequent attributes. For example, middle aged females are the most typical victims, and accusations of poisoning are frequently associated. But there are also several variations. Yet another concept for the origins of witchcraft denunciations is that they are common when patriarchal establishments are attempting to establish dominance more than matriarchal types. This could perhaps also utilize in this scenario as Buddhism, the most common faith in the spot, is much more male-dominated while the traditional social composition in the location is “matrilineal”, in which descent is normally traced through the feminine line. A patriarchal dimension to witchcraft accusations could also explain the prevalence of girls as victims the two in conventional societies, and even in present day contexts that can resemble “witch hunts”, this sort of as on the web bullying specifically targeting women. The more research we do, the closer we can get to comprehending and tackling the mechanisms driving these procedures that can be devastating for women throughout the entire world.
