A few side character sketches:
Isolde (the kings sister), Saoirse (one of the lady knights), and Caius (Augustine’s asshole half-brother)

I definitely do not need more OC’s but here’s my new selkie guy Tiernan. I decided with his design to make him look a little less than human.
The lighthouse keeper keeps trying to make him return to the sea but he refuses to listen to her 😂

Lute
Lute: what OC is most or least like you?
Most like me is probably one of my older OC's Kiolani because he's an introverted book nerd with social anxiety
Least like me is probably Jester 😂

hi! if you were to actually make your foolknight ocs a comic (or a book? i cant quite remember what you said), where do you think you'll upload it on to, and when do you think you'll start it? as you know im immersed in your characters and a little obsessed with them, so id love to see more of them <3 thank you so much !!!
Hey there! So far the plan is a comic as I am no writer and think that it would work better for the story I'm telling. So far I don't have any set plan for either of those yet. My main goal has just been to get my story together and then go from there 😅
Whenever I do I would probably post the comic both on Tumblr (though I'd likely make a separate blog just for it) and whatever other site I decide to use.

As I've been reading through your asks and am now drowning in headcanons for your silly little guys, may I ask for more facts about the king - like is he married and if not are you also going to have shenanigans going on with him during or after the story, or would the king secretly be giving lessons to each of them on how to court the other (half to ship them, half *definitely not* to win those bets with the rest of the castle)?
Also I love this little story you've strung together it brightens my day every time I see it, and have a very lovely new year :)
I will always happily talk more about my silly guys!
So the king isn’t married. He was once betrothed through an arrangement from his parents but when he became king he ended it because he was grieving and had no interest in marriage. He still hasn’t married because he’s hella aromantic and really doesn’t want to and also feels bad for any more poor lady who may be stuck with him since he knows he will never love her in that way.
He has a few of his own shenanigans that will be at play and sprinkled within the plot though the main story revolves around foolknight. He doesn’t necessarily directly interfere with advice though he does conveniently come up with tasks and reasons for the two of them to spend more time together. Giving Augustine advice is a bit difficult given that that would mean the knight would actually have to admit that he had feelings for someone though I could also see the king trying to casually drop comments like “You know I’ve heard that first kisses under tonight’s meteor shower are supposed to bring auspicious tidings for blooming romances.” wink wink nudge nudge
And then just going to sprinkle in a few more king facts
-He became king at seventeen
-He has a younger sister who is six years younger than him and who he half raised. They have a very close relationship but she’s also very wild and only sometimes visits the castle. Many of her actions are seen as scandalous but who’s going to stop her when her brother is king?
-He will literally throw a party any chance he gets and will take any excuse for a celebration. He has a strong belief that life is too short and more time is not always promised so you should wring as much joy out of every moment that you can (Now Augustine stop wasting all our damn time and kiss that silly jingly man!)
-Despite being a bit frivolous he means well and he’s a very just and fair ruler. Their country has been very prosperous under his reign
And thank you so much!! I hope you have an awesome new year as well 🥰❤️❤️

Hi! Feel free to ignore and I don't wanna sound pushy or smh, but if you're looking for a place to start foolknights story I think it would be fun to start with Yule/king of misrule bit since it introduces everyone, there's enough action to hold attention from the start, it's funny and gives a reasonable opportunity for flashbacks? So if you want to do this by flashbacks I think the starting point needs to be a bit busy so the reader can wonder what is happening and how did things turn out this way. Cuz if it has a slow start and then you slow it down even more with a flashback it could turn some people off? But I'm sure other people would like it too so eh idk. Maybe this will help at least in a "I'm definitely not doing that" way 😅
Lol you’re fine! I appreciate you trying to help! I know I definitely want to start in the midst of some type of chaos (not hard when there is a jingly menace under foot). As for the flashbacks they probably wouldn’t be something I would show too early on. I was thinking about adding them further into the story after the characters were more well established. Hopefully get people invested and then add them in later so you can see how they went from strangers to whatever the hell they have going on now 😆

What if the King married a Selkie? They split their time between the sea and the land, the land kingdom gets trade with Selkie and Merrow, the Selkie don't get hunted or have their skins stolen. Win-win!
I'm still uncertain about whether I want to include magical elements in the foolknight story but we shall see!
