(Indie Cross Gang facts! :D)
(This is gonna be quite long-
This AU sort of has a similar story to the mod
The story mostly focuses on the Boyfriends, who are sent down into three different indie games by Girlfriend
Beta represents Undertale, leaning towards the pacifist route
Beta's right eye is naturally red, so Chara isn't possessing him-
Blue represents Cuphead and not gonna lie, he's still practicing how to shoot fire from his fingers well
MB represents Bendy and the Ink Machine- He actually used to be like the normal MB, but turned half ink while staying in the BATIM world for a long while
MB has an ink form called "the Phoenix", whatever that means 👀"
Girlfriend is an interdimensional demon who's responsible for all the red portals that lead to every indie game- Where did she come from? How does she do this? No one knows- She's very mysterious-
Pico represents Hollow Knight and is in the role of the knight- There's nothing much about him, but he's been in the Hollow Knight world as long as he could remember
Skid and Pump represent FNAF- And it's pretty self-explanatory :v)

I perfected my fnaf in undertale au btw. Gregory is frisk and the other characters arent specific roles for the most part buuut
Chara is charlie, asriel is sammy, the afton kids are in place of papyrus and sans, undyne is cassidy in a way? its complicated.
cassidy is the yellow soul (justice) susie is the light blue soul (patience) gabriel is the orange soul (bravery) jeremy is the blue soul (integrity) and fritz is the green soul (kindness)
william is the purple soul (perseverance) but theres extra lore for him (think if alphys and gaster were mixed and a human)
springbonnie takes the place of both mettaton and alphys in the lab
vanny, roxy, monty, chica, and freddy are all here
the pacifist route final boss would be roxy, neutral is flowey/sammy, and genocide is evan <333
genocide route also has extra lore relating to ggy

Why do you think the fandom is so obsessed with the genocidal route?
I think a lot of it just boils down to what a lot of kids like. Kids engaging in media often want to feel mature. Kids are often taught by their peers or by others that bright, hopeful, and "fun" things are inherently less deep than the dark, edgy, and cynical. This can lead to kids really leaning hard into media that takes them more "seriously." That is to say, a kid in that awkward transitionary stage of life might feel pressure to abandon the bright optimism of their youth in order to fit in with other kids who are more "mature." But also! Kids like to feel challenged and often flock to dark and scary things because it's fun. See: How popular FNAF is with kids. Kids love things that are cool and scary.
Just going off of my own experience when I was younger, I definitely had a phase where I felt very awkward because I still liked Pokemon at a time when my classmates were too "grown up" for it. There was a push toward "adult" things they had no business watching, like Family Guy and South park, and really violent FPS games.
So I think it's like. To some fans, particularly younger ones, that dark, edgy, killfest coupled with Sans having a cool fight and all the fangames that ONLY focus on that route are probably a factor.
Though some simply like the alternate characterization the route gives, the challenging boss battles, and the way it deconstructs video game completionism.
I obviously can't speak for everyone, let alone every kid, and I don't think it's wrong TO like that route, but I really am tired of being hounded about it, and I feel like the pedestal the fandom puts it on misses the core thesis of the run. When people are making all these absurdly intense and difficult boss fights for rule of cool and to beat tougher and tougher challenges, I just sit there thinking.
"Wasn't the point of this route that going out of your way for extra content and hard challenges misses the forest for the trees?" That is to say, the game very much reads as a critique on the need to see everything in a video game and explores what this would entail for the characters of that world. I think the "weird route" in Deltarune is going further by being a commentary on how Deltarune players expect more alternate routes and content in a game where Toby really wants to tell a specific story.
And to an extent, I think this also relates back to Inverted Fate. Because IF is an Undertale AU, people want to see alternate routes like in Undertale. And while I get that, Inverted Fate has always set out to tell a specific story and be a deeper, more character-focused adventure. Frisk is not a puppet- they are their own person here with their own past, flaws, etc. Plus, with this AU being a pacifist continuation, while it does have neutral elements, it wouldn't make sense, IMO, to go down those darker avenues.
I understand wanting to explore what-if scenarios, but I think this mindset that every fanwork NEEDS geno is silly when plenty... don't even have neutral or pacifist. :u

How to Take Down a Gator, A Somewhat Pacifist Way Part 1/2
“SHIT!”
The whole catwalk shook as Gregory turned around and backed away from Monty, landing only a few inches away from where Gregory once stood. Monty gave him a toothy grin.
“Hey there, little guy."
Monty lunged forward, arms reaching out for Gregory. He turned around and ran. Adrenaline running shooting through him. His mind only focused on getting as much space in between Monty and himself as he could. He took as many turns as he could, stopping occasionally, to catch his breath. Looking back now and then, to make sure Monty didn’t catch up.
He made a wrong turn at one point and backed himself into a dead end. Monty came up to him and was getting ready to lunge at him once more. Gregory decided to take a risk not giving himself time to think. He was able to slide right in between Monty’s legs, right before he lunged.
By the time Monty noticed this had happened. He had already lunged at the wall and couldn’t stop himself. His claw sinking into the wires and the wall. Gregory gave the gator a smirk, and a cheer. Thinking he was finally able to outsmart the animatronic.
“Sorry little guy, looks like it’s the end of your show.”
Monty gave a growl and started tugging at the wall. Gregory’s smirk faded, as he realized that the wall and wires wouldn’t hold up long for any longer. So, he started running to the gun that was far away enough that, when Monty got free, wouldn’t immediately be able to catch him.
When he got to it, he tripped and pulled himself up, started shooting at the bullseyes. His hands were shaking so bad, that he missed the bullseyes on his first two shots.
Come on, come on. You can do this, don’t think about anything else. Just shot the target. He missed one more shot before he forced himself to stop shaking. Just as he took his last shot. He felt an intense pain in his left side.
He screamed and fell on his back, scrambling away from the gun. His vision blurring from the pain running through his entire body, burning hot. He let out another scream. Still trying to get away from the gator, his body moving slower than he wanted it too.
“Sorry kid, looks like it's the end of the show for you.”
Gregory looked around him as he started to crawl faster. Looking for anything that could help him. It was hard to focus on anything with his vision partly blurry, and the blood roaring in his ears. He tried to slow down his breathing. While ignoring the blood he could feel dripping down his side. Knowing that if he started to focus on anything else besides surviving, he would be dead.
No, I can’t die like this. I never thought I would die like this. I always thought it would be on the streets. To the elements, or some crazy dogs. Not by some 7-foot animatronic gator.
He could feel tears gathering in his eyes. He didn’t know what to do, his Faz Camera wouldn’t work against Monty. He didn’t have anything else that could help him. Just as he thought that it was really the end of the show for him.
He caught something out of the corner of his eye.
There, a couple of catwalks away from where Monty had his claws stuck. There was a control panel, it seems like the wires the gator cut into were not on. He remembered one of the messages he got on his Faz Watch. It had said something about how one of the panels in Gator Golf was putting too much electricity into the wires. That it could possibly override the system, and if the wires were ever cut, that a person could possibly die because of it.
And shut down an animatronic.
Gregory felt hope gather up in his chest. He took a couple of deep breaths. As he was backing away from Monty. Trying to steel himself for what was coming next. He couldn’t help but think about the words Freddy told him early.
You got this superstar!
I got this…
With a final breath, Gregory jumped up and slid between the gator’s legs. As soon as he was through, he picked himself up. Ignoring the pain and vision blurring, and sprinted.
“What!?!?! Really!?!?! Get back here kid!”
The whole walkway shook as Monty ran after the kid. Gregory is trying his best to keep going. But he knew that he was much slower than before. He could only hope that his body had enough energy to get him to the control panel.
He turned right.
Then he turned left.
Please, don’t fail now.
Another right.
Another left.
I don’t want to die, not like this.
Right.
I’m a fucking superstar, I won’t let a pile of metal and plastic beat me.
As he made his final turn, he slammed himself against the control panel. His eyes quickly landed on the Freddy button. And smacked his hand right on it. He could hear the wires sparking from here.
“HEY!”
Gregory turned around; Monty was right there. At least ten feet away from him. Gregory turned to his left, looking at how much space was in between the catwalk.
If I climb up the beams right next to me. I should be able to jump and make it.
Without wasting a second, Gregory climbed up the beam, he took a deep breath, and closed his eyes for a second. Having only one thought as he prepared himself.
Freddy is going to be so upset about this.
He opened his eyes.
And jumped.
Gregory felt his stomach drop. He felt weightless, the adrenaline rushing through him once more. And his body slammed itself against the railing. He felt all the air leaving his lungs. His thorat making an odd squeaky wheezing noise, his arms flailing about. Before grabbing on to the railing, slumping over them, taking a moment to catch his breath.
A moment later Monty let out a roar. Gregory jumped, realizing he didn’t have much time. He pulled himself up and over. Almost falling to the floor before he caught himself and ran what little distance he had left to the wires. He only had a couple feet left until he reached the wires.
The catwalk shook as Monty landed, just a few feet behind him.
Gregory turned around and faced Monty.
“I’m tired of playing these games kid, this. Ends. NOW.”
Monty started to charge at him.
Okay, you can do this.
Gregory looked behind him, the wire sparks were bright, a few sparks a little too close for comfort.
You just need to wait for the right moment.
He looked back at Monty; he was closer than before.
Just one more moment.
Monty was reaching his arms out, his jaw opening.
Now!
Gregory leaped to the side. Once again slamming into the railing. He pulled himself up to the top, pulling his legs up to his chest.
A blur of green rushed by him, before slamming right into the wall. The last thing he saw before shutting his eyes were the wires landing on right in between Monty’s neck and head. Sliding under the casing.
Monty made some odd mechanical noise for a minute. Before going to a buzzing hum. Gregory felt the catwalk give one final big shake as Monty fell over. Gregory didn’t open his eyes until the shaking stopped, once it did. He opened his eyes and looked at him. Monty was laying on his back, eyes staring straight at the ceiling, his sunglasses askew on his snout.
Gregory gently got himself off the railing. And creeped closer to the gator, looking over the damage done to him. You could barely tell he was electrocuted with all the dirt on him. He silently raised his foot and started poking at him. When he didn’t move after a minute of this going on. He couldn’t help but sigh in relief. It was finally over; he could get Monty’s claws to upgrade Freddy.
Leaning over Monty to get a good look at his hands. Gregory felt a sharp pain through his body. Starting from his left side, going all the way to his chest. He let out a yelp, straightening himself up and back up to the wall. Before thinking twice about it and going to the railing instead.
Gregory sat down against the railing, trying to find a good way to rest his back without the railing digging into his injured side. Now that he wasn’t running for his life anymore, the pain was hitting him full force. He couldn’t help but let out a sob.
It hurt so much, it hurt more than that time he fell off the playground at six years old. Luckily, he didn’t break anything, but he had bruises for weeks. His parents did not even notice when he was limping around for a month.
More than when his parents forgot to give him food a couple of times for a few days. Before noticing and giving him some frozen food to warm up.
More than, six months ago his mom. Drinking too much one night threw a beer bottle right next to his head. Only a couple of pieces of glass cutting into his cheek. One of them left a scar right where his bandage was now resting.
This was so much worse than all those times combined. And all he could do was sit there, alone, with no energy to move or get help. Gregory was exhausted, he was so close to getting the claws. But he didn’t know how he would have gotten those off. He should have just stuck with his bucket plan.
But because of his dumb brain, he was now back to square one. He didn't know how he could do this again. But one thing was for sure, he was too exhausted to care now. He just wished he could sleep, but with this pain he knew there would be no sleep for him tonight.
Gregory sighed and closed his eyes. Hoping he could get at least a little bit of rest.
AN: Hello! I hope you guys enjoyed this story! Don't worry, there is a part two in the works right now. It was taking me a little longer to write the whole thing. I thought might as well post part of it and see what everyone thinks.
I would like to thank @tophthedaydreamer for inpiresing this idea, and for letting me use her ideas for a pacifist route of the game. She had some good ideas for Chica and Roxy, that I am very exiced to write. This story is also posted on AO3 under the username Ijustwanttowrite5000. I will be posting my fic there before tumblr. I can't wait to write more, and see everyones reactions. Until next time!-

Yall Security Breach is dragging me kicking and screaming back into my middle school FNAF phase. And I KNOW it was back in middle school because I remember taking a pack of index cards and drawing every character from all the games one by one during my brother’s Boy Scout advancement ceremonies, which were held in the mystical uncharted land of the high school cafeteria XD

ALL My Deltarune AUs
Just to keep them all organized (I'll add to the list if I make more). A few of these are more just designs than actual story stuff + all of them revolve around Spamton lol. I post a lot of art of them on my Twitter (Lexezombie_CT) so you’d probably have to check that for sketches n stuff (I’ll only post art I deem important to the AUs here)
THE BIG 3: the one’s I either draw a lot or are my faves
* Lorelei Route: the one w/ the most story, contains my ocs (also known as Bloom!Spamton au)
* Twin AU: literally just where Spamton has a sister (Scammy); my fave one to draw
* False Heaven AU: Worshiper!Spamton + Gaster’s Wife (oc); Fun to draw horror art for
OTHERS
* Acid Ghost AU: also known as Dead!Spamton or Ghost!Spamton; Basically a bad-end route where the player does the normal/pacifist route and only kills Spamton (also includes a 2nd form of Spamton called Reboot!Spamton)
* Scrapton AU: aka Scrap!Spamton; Just a creepy mangled puppet version of Spamton, also made to make horror art w/ like acid-ghost
* Malwere AU; Bootleg-Mafia + Mantis monster Spamton (Smanny) - ft. an Addison eating creature named Dox
* Rabbits Foot AU; Reincarnation style, Spamton (Sully) is an asshole w/ insane luck on his side and takes Cyber City
* Stream-Team AU; Trans-woman Spamton (sparrow), V-tuber & Streamer shinanigans, Queen has a daughter and she’s a bitch
* Godton; Call him pony, he’s a horsey : )
* Showstopper AU; yes it’s fnaf, don’t ask
SHITPOST AUS (for the memes)
* Seafood AU; Shrimpton aka Scrimpton, he’s literally just a shrimp- its one is for fun and memes
* Soapton; no specific AU, he just works at Lush and is pink
* Scamron; he’s just a white addison- addispam; asshole lmao
* Inverted AU; aka Vert or inverted spam, he’s literally just inverted colours and he speaks backwards

What's up gamers today we're taking a stab at guessing why and how in the world a depressed, unhygienic, ketchup-chugging skeleton like Sans became an internet sex symbol if you like this video don't forget to like and subscribe to my channel and click that bell button to get notific
Here's a question for you: if you played all of Undertale without knowing anything about the fandom, and after you were done I asked you who you thought the fan favorite was, who would you say? No really, I'd like to know, because I have no good or honest answer to this question. Because the more I think about it, the more sure I am that, while in many fandoms it's clear who the fan favorite is going to be(and that character may even have been designed to be the fan favorite), Undertale doesn't really have that.
Most times, the fan favorite is a young guy with good looks(a specific kind of look too, usually what you would describe as a "pretty boy") that has a good sense of humor and/or is flirtatious and/or is flippant. Sans is a jokester, sure, but he's not a pretty boy. And as I said, he's depressed and chugs ketchup at local diners and is a slacker, and his jokes aren't flirty or insulting(aka "attractive" jokes), they're just bad puns. These things certainly makes him feel more like a real person(or as real as you can get when you're a skeleton), but they don't make for a good fan fave to drool over. So why was Sans chosen to be transformed through fanon as the fan favorite? I think the answer lies in the no mercy route.
I'm pretty sure we all know this is the biggest contributor to his popularity. Although nowadays I prefer the pacifist route, even I was fascinated with the no mercy route back in the day. And there's a perfectly good reason so many felt the same, for a lot of us(myself included) it was an introduction to "darker" stories, where bad things happened and they didn't get better, or were previously fans of games like fnaf. A lot of the fandom was my age at the time(14) or younger. And since the no mercy route was the main focus for so many fans, what, or who was the staple of it? Sans. And honestly, the sans fight really was made to make an impact. It takes a lot of tries, sometimes even more than undyne the undying, the music is the fourth iteration of Toby's signature song Megalovania, and Sans' dialogue reveals more about his character and opens up a possible mystery by saying strange things that he doesn't explain(remember how I said a lot of people were previously fnaf fans? Well it and similar games became popular largely because of the mysteries they presented. So Sans' popularity also grew because of his connection to the larger gaster mystery). So Sans ended up being the most popular character in Undertale, and Undertale became insanely popular, so by proxy Sans became a very popular character in general.
So here's a summary of why Sans is the fan favorite, even though when just looking at him by himself you'd never guess he'd have risen to this level of popularity(aka the TL;DR): Undertale has a distinct lack of characters that fit the typical "fan favorite" mold, and Sans was the character that most closely fit it. His popularity was largely helped by his significance in the no mercy run and his ties to the gaster mystery, which made him more appealing to young fans in particular, who loved the no mercy route because of its darkness and gaster because of the unsolved mystery. Thus, he became the most popular character in Undertale, and since Undertale was so popular itself, he got a huge fandom.
I also want to take this time to look at some other characters who had the potential to be the fan favorites had Sans not taken the role. Most/all of them fit other, "lesser" fan favorite archetypes that I will explain. A lot of these characters are still pretty popular.
Gaster
This one's pretty obvious. If Sans didn't have ties to both the no mercy run and the Gaster mystery, then Gaster himself would be the fan favorite. Even with Sans(or sometimes because of him), he's inescapable. If he was the fan favorite, the loud part of the fandom would largely stay the same, there would just be less focus on the no mercy run.
Undyne
There's two ways Undyne would've become the fan favorite: being a lesbian icon like Catra from spop, making the fandom a lesbian haven, or through straight weeb men who fetishize lesbians. Those two types of fans already make up the Undyne fandom in our quiet little corner, but we would've seen this on a much larger SCALE(lol) if she had been the fan favorite. And let's be honest, what does Sans have that Undyne doesn't? Let's just look at the facts here: A glowing eye that only shows up on the no mercy run, of which they have one of two of the epic battles for that route that are famously hard to beat, both have a mysterious part of them that's not really explained(Undyne's missing eye, why she melted/came back to life instead of turning straight to dust, determination motif, UNDYNE'S MYSTERIOUS TOO GUYS), connections to a royal scientist, I could go on. I can really only think of one reason that Undyne, the buff angry wlw who isn't conventionally attractive, isn't very popular.........
Asriel
Asriel falls under another type of fan favorite archetype that I like to call, "HOLY SHIT CUTE CHILD." The only other example I can think of right now is Niko from oneshot, who is the fan favorite of their game. And Asriel is indeed a cute child! I would've liked to see him be the fan favorite, because I think the Chara & Asriel subplot is underrated in this fandom. Asriel is fairly popular, but he's mostly seen either as flowey or by fans of the KFCA gang nowadays.
Frisk
Frisk being the fan favorite would be a combination of "HOLY SHIT CUTE CHILD" and "protagonist that I can project onto," with a side of mystery due to their ambiguous backstory. So pretty much how they're portrayed now. They're best done by fans of the KFCA gang, but they're seen more often than Asriel, either as a prop in cool art of a place/another character, or to be the kid in those post-pacifist works.
Mettaton
He's another one that's already fairly popular, this is just about what the fandom would be like if he was The fan fave. And if I'm gonna he honest, I'm kinda surprised Mettaton isn't the fan favorite. He's pretty much exactly what the fan favorite archetype is. He's a pretty boy. He's one of the more popular characters in the fandom, sure, but compared to Sans he hardly shows up. And I honestly don't have any good guesses as to why this is. It could be that he's gay and trans coded, but too "flamboyant" and makes the cishet fans uncomfortable, but even that doesn't check out considering how much people fetishize him being trans. If anything, they like that, even if in the most gross way possible. So yeah, I've got nothing.
Chara
They were probably the fourth most popular character back in the day, after the skelebros and gaster of course. And just like Sans, it's because of their ties to the no mercy route. If they were the fan fave, the fandom would probably be a much darker place. Which is sad, because if you look at how KFCA fans depict them, they're great! But anyways, the fandom as a whole has always focused more on "demon" Chara than looking at maybe a more nicer side of them, so if they were the fan favorite, the fandom would be even more focused on the gritty and dark parts of the story. Oh, and people would keep misgendering them, too.
So there you have it, an in-depth analysis of how Sans became the fan favorite, and then what other fan favorites might look like I guess. Even after writing all of this, I still can't quite comprehend Sans' popularity. Fortunately I've found a good niche in the fandom that appreciates all the characters equally. KFCA fans, waterfall gang fans, gorls fans, etc. Everyone is good! But I've stayed holed up in that little community for so long that I don't know the fandom at large's current condition regarding aus, sans, etc., so really this meta is written from my memory of the fandom back in 2016, which is probably outdated somewhat lol. Anyways, hope you enjoyed the read!

 Eggs Benedict refuses to administer controlled shocks to the animatronics, instead choosing to do the equivalent of the True Pacifist Route from Undertale. Elaboration on that below.
I was thinking that after refusing to shock the animatronics fe would try to reason politely w/them? Like fe would ask permission from the animatronics before going into their rooms, give them space if they seemed fearful of Eggs, & basically try to be as nice as possible to the animatronics.
And i have 2 options/paths for the story to take:
1.) Fe offers to take the animatronics w/fim to gravity falls, a place where they can be free & be themselves w/out having to use disguises or anything, & the animatronics gratefully accept (since Eggs was gonna be fired for “not doing their job like fe was supposed to” aka “not controlled shocking the animatronics nor following all of HandUnit’s instructions”)
2.) Eggs’s ultra-nice approach works so much better than the company’s controlled shocks & scooping system that the company promotes eggs to higher positions/gives fim more leeway on how fe goes about fiz job, & as a result, the animatronics’ lives & the company’s business get much better. Eggs looks up some youtube DIYs or checks out some books from the library or something & removes/disables the child murder/kidnapping mehanisms(/devices?) from all the animatronics. Also fe gets Baby therapy.

“Ugh, what happened? Is it showtime already?”
Monty brought his hand up to his snout, adjusting his glasses. He sat up and looked off to the side. Expecting to see his green room, what he found instead was the catwalks right above his mini golf.
“What the hell?!?! How did I end up here?”
He couldn’t believe it, so he checked his systems to see what date and time it was.
September 15th, 2026, 3:51 am
How was this possible? Last Monty checked it was the 14th. It was only a couple hours after the birthday party. The band was worried about Freddy, it wasn’t normal for his system to shut down like that. Parts and Service told the band not to worry, and they could see Freddy later. They had all planned on doing just that.
Sure, Monty was a little upset about the show being ruined. But it wasn’t anyone's fault, things like this happen from time to time. He knew that Freddy would beat himself up over this. So, Monty tried to keep his anger in, and not destroy his room this time. He knows that his anger problems have been getting out of hand lately. He doesn’t know why, just a few months ago his anger wasn’t this bad. Sure, he still had shouting matches with Roxy. And he might hit a couple of things, but it never went beyond that.
Until a month and a half ago. Monty’s anger has been getting a lot worse, he started to feel angry half of the time. Destroying his room if angry enough. He had no patience for anything anymore. He even yelled at Chica and Freddy sometimes. And that just made him feel even worse, they didn’t deserve to be yelled at.
He knows that everyone has been stressed lately and acting odd. Roxy was being more overconfident than usual.  She has been talking to herself, he even saw her talking to the mirror a few days ago. And she has been way too competitive with the kids lately. To the point the company almost got a couple of lawsuits on their hands.
Chica has been eating even more than before, she started to eat garbage as well. There have been times when Chica will lock herself in her room for hours. Monty knows for a fact she has been sneaking garbage in there as well. The human staff has been complaining about this, how they keep taking it out, and more just appeared.
Freddy may not show any problems. But he knows that the human staff has been putting pressure on him to fix this. Since Parts and Service can’t fix it, Freddy would be the one who must keep everyone in line. He keeps apologizing for everything, even for things that aren’t his fault. It pisses Monty off whenever he hears him apologizing now, Freddy shouldn’t be apologizing. He hasn’t done anything wrong, it's everyone else that should be. He has heard how some of the staff talk to Freddy. The last time he heard Vanessa talking to Freddy, he had to stay in his room for the rest of the night. No one should talk to Freddy like that. He’s trying his best, and that's all anyone could ask for.
Monty was getting off topic, the point is everyone has been having problems. His anger being the worst of the problems. The last memory he could access from his system was pacing around his room, trying to keep his anger in, and keeping the worry out. His anger was slowly rising. The last thing he remembered was finally giving into the anger and punching the wall.
And that scared him shitless. Did his anger get so bad he blacked out? He has heard of that happening before. But he thought he had enough control of his anger that this wouldn’t happen.
And yet here he is. On the catwalk’s right above his mini golf. With no memories of getting here. Or of the last 10 hours, if his system was right.
He might as well get up and see what damage he’s done. As Monty put his hands on the ground, about to push himself up, that's when he finally noticed that something was on his right hand. He froze, staring at it, he couldn’t even process what he was looking at for a few seconds.
There was blood on his hand.
Blood that was still mostly wet on his hand.
“No, no, no, that isn’t, that can’t be…”
Monty snapped his head up and started to look around. Looking for something, anything to prove that this wasn’t blood. He would take any answer over blood, no matter how ridiculous the answer would be. That's when he saw him.
Monty froze for the second time that night.
There, just about six feet away from him. Was a child, a child with his side covered in blood.
“FUCK!”
Monty jumped to his feet, almost tripping over himself to get to the kid. He didn’t look any older than nine.
Fuck, I messed up. I messed up big time.
Just as Monty was going to kneel next to the kid. The kid’s eyes snapped right open and jerked his head up. And stared right at Monty. The kid let out a scream and threw his back to the floor. His scream cut short and turned into a yelp. His face scrunched up in pain, he crawled backwards away from Monty.
This confirmed Monty’s worst fears.
He had hurt a kid.
His anger got so out of hand, that he hurt a kid.
Fuck, this bad, this is so, so bad.
“Whoa, hey, easy their little guy.”
Monty held his hands up. He wanted to walk to the kid and see how bad his wound was. But he knew that the kid would not accept his help. Fuck, he wasn’t the bot to handle this. He was known as the asshole of the Pizza Plex. The hothead, the tough guy. He wasn’t programmed for this. But he had to try, for the kids’ sake. If he could just get him to first aid, or one of the other glamrocks.
“Y-you stay right there, don’t come any closer.”
The kid was glaring up at him, his brown eyes cold and hard. His body was shaking, from having to hold his body up, and fear of the gator in front of him. But his glare did not weaver, he kept his eyes on him. Daring him to take another step towards him.
Damn, this kid has some guts.
“I won’t, I’m going to stay right here, little guy.”
The kid flinched and scooted back. He shot the gator a confused and baffled look. Like he couldn’t believe what was happening, his eyebrows furrowed.
“Your… Not going to chase me again?”
Fuck, he was doing that? Did he chase the kid around the whole mall? No wonder he looks so exhausted. Who knows how long he was chasing after the kid. He shouldn’t even be here.
“No, I’m not.”
They both took a minute to stare at each other. Monty was trying to get a good look at the kid's body. To see if there was any more blood, it looks like the blood was only on his left side. With small scratches and scrapes on his arms and legs. Bruises all over his body. But he wasn’t sure if that was all. He has seen some kids come in with some bad bruises. And broken bones, he even heard with humans that they could get bruises all the way down to their bones. What if he got both?
Fuck, he hopes that didn’t happen with this kid.
“Little guy, want to tell me what your name is?”
The kid's eyes shot back up to his face, his eyes wide and confused.
“You… You don’t remember me?”
“Nope, the last thing I remember was being in my green room. That was, according to the clock, 10 hours ago.”
The kid’s eyes somehow widened even more.
“Wait, so you’re telling me, that you don’t remember anything that has happened since then?”
“Nope, not a single thing.”
The kid’s jaw dropped, he blinked at him a couple of times. The kid looked speechless, not that he could blame the kids. This must be overwhelming for the poor boy. He gave the kid a minute to collect his thoughts. When it was clear he wasn’t going to say anything else, he spoke up.
“Look, little guy, I know you don’t trust me right now. But we need to get you to a first aid station. I don’t know how bad your side is. But it looks pretty bad from here.”
The kid looked down at his side and winced. His face paled and looked like he was going to throw up. He looked back up at the gator. His lips pressed together, just as he was about to respond to the gator. He was interrupted by a voice coming from his watch.
“Gregory, are you alright? It has been taking you a long time getting through Monty’s golf course. Do you need some assistance?”
Monty felt shock and relief running through his system. Freddy was up, he could handle this. Monty took a step towards the kid. Gregory, before he froze. The kid had whipped his head up. And stared at him, shit he must have startled him. Monty put his hands up once more.
“Hey, it’s alright, can I come a little closer? Just so I can talk to Freddy? I won’t sit right next to you, just close enough for Freddy to hear me.”
Gregory's eyes felt burning, he swore he could feel it right down to his endoskeleton. If he could shiver, he would.
Damn, this kid has that stare down. Bet he’s fun to play with, wish this wasn’t the way we met.
“Gregory? Are you there?”
Gregory finally broke the stare down they were having. Looking down and back up at the gator.
“Promise?”
“I promise, kid.”
The kid gave the gator one last stare. Before nodding and looking back down at his watch. Moving himself to rest against the railing once more. Monty started moving closer to the kid, as he was talking to Freddy.
“I’m here Freddy, I just need to tell you something that happened.”
“What is it? Are you hurt? Do I need to come and get you?”
“Well… I did get a little hurt…”
Monty couldn’t help but give a snort at that. Sitting down about three feet away from the kid.
A little hurt my ass. The kid’s whole side is covered in blood.
Gregory shot him another icy look at him.
“Gregory, what was that noise?”
Monty looked down at the watch in surprise. He had never heard Freddy sound so worried and scared before. Come to think of it, before he joined the band. He thought Freddy couldn’t experience any negative emotions. That thought had changed rather quickly, after a couple of months of being around the bear himself.
“That’s what I need to tell you about. Monty was chasing after me when he ran into some exposed wires. It gave him a bad shock, and I think it knocked out his system. He just woke up. He’s saying the last thing he remembers was being in his room, after that birthday party.”
“Really? That’s great news! Gregory, is it alright if I talk to Monty for a moment?”
“He's right here.”
Gregory held his arm out towards the gator
“Hey Freddy,”
“Monty! I’m so glad you're alright!”
“It’s good to hear you up and running. We’ll have to talk later. I don’t know what happened while I was out of it. But my claws got the kids' side pretty good. We need to get him to a first aid station quickly.”
“What!?!? Gregory, you should have told me that in the first place. Monty, how much blood is he losing?”
“It’s okay, I’m fine, really, Monty is just exaggerating.”
Monty gave the kid a look, glancing down to his side, and back up at him. Pulling his glasses down to get a better look at Gregory. He flinched at the look Monty gave him, and quickly looked away from him. Monty caught the look of fear on his face, before he could turn away completely.
Monty could feel something drop to the bottom of his torso. The feeling reminded him of the time Chica conceived him to eat some pizza. It was greasy, cold, and felt odd, it reminded him of the oil the human staff used on their endoskeleton. To help with their joints, he could feel it dripping down his endo. Leaking out between the seams of his casing. It was the weirdest feeling he had ever felt. He couldn’t understand why Chica ate it so often.
Somehow, this feeling was worse than that. It felt like it was crawling all around inside his casing. It was hard to describe what this feeling was, it felt thick and slimy, and made something inside his wires twist. Like there was something fighting in his casing to get out, either through the seams of his casing, or to travel up his throat and out of his mouth.
It looks like he’ll need a checkup as well. There was so much that went wrong tonight. Now he can add another thing on top of this wonderful night.
Monty shook his head, pushing that odd feeling in his casing aside. He needed to focus on Gregory.
“Yeah, no, the kids’ side is drenched in blood. We need to get him help fast. I don’t know how much longer the little guy can stay awake for.”
Even with Gregory's head turned away, he could tell he didn’t feel well. His skin looked pale, his clothes sticking to his skin with the help of the sweat and blood. His breathing was too heavy. The little guy was shivering like he was outside on a winter day with no coat.
The feeling in his casing got worse the longer he looked at the kid. He looked back down at the watch. Hoping he could push whatever he was feeling aside. There was a long pause before Freddy answered.
“That does sound bad, I’ll locate the nearest first aid station. We may need to go to the med bay, but we can judge if he needs stitches.”
Fuck, I forgot humans had those too. The little guy better not need them.
“I can carry the little guy to the entrance of the course. You focus on finding that first aid.”
Gregory snapped his head back to the gator. His eyes wide and blinking furiously. He couldn’t tell if that was from the water in his eyes, he was keeping from falling, or trying to keep his focus on his surroundings.
He really hoped it was the second option.
“Alright, I’ll see you then. And Gregory…”
“Yeah?”
“Stay strong superstar, just for a little longer. You’ve been so brave tonight, facing all my friends the way you have. Just stay awake until you get to me.”
More tears gathered in the kids' eyes.
“Okay… I will.”
“I’ll see you soon, superstar.”
The watch beeped and the lights on the watch dimmed. The little guy sniffed and wiped his eyes and looked away again. Warping his arms around his chest.
Monty's eyes stayed where they were, now looking at the floor of the catwalk. He couldn’t believe what he just heard.
Facing our friends? Wait, that means everyone has been chasing this kid around?
Monty took another glance at the kid, his head still facing the other way. His shoulders shaking more than the rest of his body.
What the hell happened?
Monty checked his systems once more, to see if there was anything wrong with his system that the restart fixed.
Virus and Threat protection
Past Threats:
Virus detected in Main Server. System disconnected from main server.
Scan performed, virus in system program.
HTTP error 405 - Method Not Allowed.
System restarted in Safety Mode.
Current Threats:
Virus detected
HTTP error 405 - Method Not Allowed.
Monty froze and felt something drop in his chest once more.
Fuck …This is worse than I thought…
Monty didn’t lose control of his anger and blackout. Someone had put a virus in the Main Server. A virus that infected not only his system, but every single electronic thing that is connected to the Main Server. Someone also put unauthorized codes in his system.
In all their codes…
Shit, shit, shit… My systems aren’t the only ones with unauthorized code… That’s what Freddy meant by Gregory facing our friends. That’s why I was able to hurt the little guy.
Monty knew that his coding would stop him from hurting anyone. He may be programmed to be a tough guy, but he wouldn’t seriously harm anyone on purpose. He didn’t hurt Gregory by accident, thinking he was just an object, or aiming for something else. No, something got in his system and changed his very being. So, he could hurt this kid.
Monty has felt a lot of anger in his life. Especially these last couple of months, but nothing compared to this. This wasn’t a selfish type of anger, that he wasn’t the most popular, that Freddy got more attention than him.
This wasn’t anything like that. Someone had used him.
Someone had used his body to chase this poor kid around the whole Pizza Plex…
Someone had used his body to hurt the kid…
Someone had used his friends’ bodies to try and get this kid…
He didn’t know who or what had done this. But there was only one thing he knew at that moment.
I’m going to find whatever did this, and I’m going to make it pay…
“Monty?”
Monty snapped his eyes back down to the little guy. Gregory was looking back at him, eyes red and checks wet. He was giving Monty a concerned look with a hint of fear on his face.
“Are you alright?”
Shit, I need to pull myself together. I can’t lose my temper right now, not until I get the little guy back to Freddy.
“I’m fine little guy, are you ready to go? Or do you need another minute?”
Gregory narrowed his eyes at him.
“I can walk by myself.”
Monty snorted.
“Sure, and Chica hates pizza.”
“I’m serious, I can walk by myself.”
“No offense kid, but you look like a breeze could knock you over.”
The kid pouted, straightening his back to get a better look at the gator. When his face twisting in pain once again. He leaned forward, he tried to curl into himself. He let out a wet gasp and leaned back against the railing. His arms tighten around his body. Monty reached his arms out. Hovering over his body, not sure if grabbing him would make it better or worse.
“Whoa, easy their little guy. Easy, it's okay, um, take some deep breaths?”
Gregory snorted and looked back up at Monty.
“You’re really not good at this stuff.”
“Hey! There is a reason that Chica and Freddy deal with this kind of stuff. And not me or Roxy.”
They sat in silence for a moment before Monty spoke up once more.
“Still think you can walk?”
Gregory glared at the gator, his eyes softening after a moment. Breaking eye contact and looking off to the side.
“I guess not.”
“Soooooo?”
Gregory let out a sigh.
“Fine, I guess I’ll let you carry me to Freddy.”
Even though Monty’s mouth couldn’t move. Gregory could tell that the gator was giving him a smug smirk.
“Yeah, yeah, be all smug about it now. I’m sure you’ll regret it later.”
“I doubt it, kid. Ready for me to pick you up?”
Gregory shot Monty with another intense look. Scanning him up and down, Monty stiffed a little more.
“And you’re sure that you won’t go all crazy on me again?”
“I promise kid, not a single child crazed thought.”
The kid stared into his eyes, searching for something. He must have found something he liked; the next thing Monty knew. The little guy was reaching his arms out to the gator.
Monty reached his arms out and grabbed under his armpits. Hoisting the kid up, the little guy letting out a whine as he did. He stood there for a second, not sure on how to carry the kid for a moment. Before he brought the kid close to his chest. Moving one arm to warp around his knees, and the other around his shoulder blades.
“That feel alright kid?”
“It’s better than the railings, that’s for sure.”
“Good, let's get going.”
“Wait, how are we going to get past all the S.T.A.F.F bots? They are everywhere!”
“Don’t worry kid, I can be sneaky when I need to.”
“Rigggggghhht.”
“Hey! I totally can! Just you wait kid. I can hide you even better than Freddy can!”
“Freddy has a stomach hatch; how can you top that?”
“... Uh, I can, well, I can’t tell you yet. It’s so mind blowing that you won’t be able to handle it.”
“Sure Monty, sure.”
Monty rolled his eyes, trying his best to keep the smile out of his voice.
Looks like he’s less scared of me, good.
Monty started walking to the left.
“Monty?”
“Yeah kid?”
“How are we supposed to get down?”
“Uh... Jump?”
“What!?!? Monty, no, I don’t think that’s a good idea!”
“Sorry kid, it’s the only way down. Hold on tight.”
He crouched down, getting his legs ready.
“MONTY! WAIT! I THINK I SEE A-AAAAAHHHHH!”
“ROCK AND ROLL, KID, ROCK AND ROLL!”
A/N: Well that's the end for this story, don't worry. I plan on doing a whole series on this. I'm calling it A How to Guide for a Gremlin Child to be a Pacifist? (It's Going Better Then Expected). This is part one, more will be coming sometime soon. Sorry for no link for part one, I'm not sure on how to get that to work. Hope you guys like how I wrote Monty. I always have a hard time writing his type of character. I don't think he was too out of character in this.
Monty thinks he has very little emotions, when in reality he has all of them. Gregory isn't quite the gremlin child we all know yet, but he will be. Freddy is at the ready to give him all the love he needs. And what our gremlin will accept for now. Thanks again to @tophthedaydreamer for inspiring this idea, and letting me use her ideas in the future. Buckle up people, its going to be one hell of a ride. Read you guys later! ;)

Hot to Patch up your Gremlin Child and Gator Brother! (Part 1/?)
(A/N: Hey guys! Welcome to the second part of my series called A How to Guide for a Gremlin Child to be a Pacifist? (It's Going Better Then Expected). I would really recommend that you go check out the first part of the series right here for part one, and right here for part two of the same story. Hope you guys enjoy the story!)
“Aaugh…”
Gregory curled into himself, leaning against the gator’s chest. Trying his best to keep his breathing even.
“Crap, little guy, are you alright?”
“Mmmph, yep, totally fine, it’s not like you just jumped from a catwalk. Oh, I don’t know thirty fucking feet in the air! When you could've gone down the stairs that were, oh I don’t know, right fucking next to us!”
“... So, mistakes were made…”
“Jeez you think!?!?”
“Let me see your side.”
Gregory felt the gators hands leave his back. Bring him up to the gators shoulder to try and get a better look. He opened one of his eyes to see what he was doing. But was immediately distracted by a light shining in his eyes.
“Wait, Monty, the S.T.A.F.F bot, behind you!”
“SHIT!”
Monty tightens his hold on the kid and started running.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Monty turned around the corner and ran straight into the hallway. Taking a minute to look around.
“... I think we’re safe now, let me get a look at your side.” Gregory glared up at the gator, his hand pushing down on his wound.
“I’m fine, it just didn’t like you jumping thirty fucking feet.”
Gregory felt Monty's arm twitch. Gregory tensed up realizing what he did.
Fuck, I made him mad. I should have kept my mouth shut.
“It won’t happen again kid, promise.”
Gregory's eyes widen at the gator. Blinking up at him, waiting for him to say or do anything else. But he didn't, he just looked down at him. He realized that Monty was waiting for him to respond. So, he said the first thing that came to mind.
“You sure are making a lot of promises…”
“That I plan on keeping, trust me kid, I’m a gator that keeps them. Now let’s see that side of yours”
Gregory pressed his lips together. Shit, this is where the punishment comes in. But I can't exactly tell him no, he'll just make it worst.
“... Okay”
Gregory moved his hand out of the way, and onto his chest. Giving Monty enough room to lift the kid’s shirt up, leaning over the kid a little, looking for any more damage that could have been done. Monty was a tough guy, not a lot of things could make the gator uncomfortable. But looking at the kids wound, knowing that it was his claws that did that. Even if he didn’t remember doing this… It kept making that thing in his torso moving in some very uncomfortable ways.
“Monty?”
Monty glanced up at the kids face. Noticing the way kid was still tense, his face completely blank of any expression. But his eyes sharp and watching him, he looked like he was waiting for something to happen. He hated that look, he wanted to erase that look off the kids face completely. He wasn't sure how; it was always Freddy or Chica that would handle the more emotional kids. Hell, even Roxy could clam a kid down if needed. But that was never Monty's thing, he was too rough, too scary, or too sharp for the kids. He just tends to make things worse, and make the kids cry more. He could always help after, or if they needed a distraction, he was good at that.
I'm not even sure if the other could get this kid to calm down.
This was completely different; this had never happened at the mall. Sure, they had some kids fall and hurt themselves, and a couple of scraps here and there. But never something like this. Never one of them hurting a child, never one of them spilling blood. It went against their programing to do so, like chasing a kid around after hours for who knows how long. At least it uses to be...
Monty took another glance down at the kids’ side, double check to make sure he didn't miss anything. And to make sure none of his anger escaped into his voice.
“It looks okay, I don’t know if that jump caused any of it to open more. But you're bleeding the same amount.”
“Yay, blood is still escaping my body. Just what we needed.”
Monty let out a mechanical noise, Gregory swore it sounded like a sigh. Monty looked back down to his side, his hand still right next to his wound, but Gregory had a feeling that he wasn’t looking at the wound. Gregory pressed his lips together. Monty was acting weird again he wasn't sure what was happening with the gator, he wasn't sure if he was lost in his own head. Or if Monty was going to turn on him and start chasing him once more. He really hoped not, he wanted to at least get back to Freddy before any of that would happen. So, Gregory took a deep breath and decided to ask him out right. Maybe he would give him a head start if he did want to chase him again.
“Monty? Are, are you…? Still there?”
Monty shook his head, from stopping his thoughts dead in its tracks. And looked back up to the kids face, Monty could see the fear on the kids face this time. His eyes a little wider, looking like he was going to bolt at any minute. Even with his side in so much pain. Causing the thing in him to act up even more.
Snap out of it, this is not the time to be thinking about that. Just say something to the kid and get a move on.
“Yep, still here, just got lost in thought. We should stop by the gift shop, see if there is anything we can use for that wound.”
Monty straightened out his back, moving his hand to help Gregory pull his shirt back down, as he looked around for anymore S.T.A.F.F bots.
“Really? And why not a first aid station?” Gregory asked as he put his hand back onto his side, using his other arm still resting on his chest, as he looked up at Monty. Glaring at him once more.
“They took all the first aid stations out of the golf course a couple of days ago. There was some sort of goo in all of them.” Monty looking back at the way they came as he said this
“Gross.” Gregory pulled a grossed-out face, sticking his tongue out.
“Yep.”
Gregory's face smoothed out and gave the gator a confused look.
“Why not go to Gator Grub instead? It’s closer.”
Monty turned his head back around and looked down at the kid.
“Kid, I’m not the brightest bulb around here. But even I know that we would have better luck with the gift shop. Unless you need something to eat? Should you even be eating? Is it even safe to give you water?”
Gregory bit his lips and taking a quick glance down to his side. Before looking back up to Monty.
“Um… I’m not really sure.”
Monty shrugged his shoulders lightly.
“Better be safe than sorry, let’s get you something.”
Gregory gave Monty a panicked look. Almost rising his arms up to grab onto Monty's shoulders, before thinking better of it. He didn't want to push him to far, at least until he got patched up.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea, what if my side explodes?”
Gregory threw his arms up, trying to mimic an explosion. Monty’s jaw tightening at the thought of that happening to the kid.
“Can that happen to humans?”
Gregory brought his arms down, crossing them on his chest and glaring up at the gator.
“I don’t know! Do I look like a doctor to you?”
“We can always save it for later?” Monty almost moved his hand from the kids back to scratch his neck.
Gregory glared up at the gator for a moment.
“Fine, we can grab something on our way out.”
Monty snapped his eyes back up. Trying his best to keep the grin out of his voice.
“Alright, little guy lets head out. Trust me kid, the Gator Grub has the best food.”
“Monty, you can’t taste food.”
“The point still stands kid.”
Monty shifted his grip and started walking down the hallway.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Gregory was staring up at the gator, wide eyed. Looking back and forth between him and the walkway, where a couple of S.T.A.F.F bots were rolling up and down.
“...Monty…”
“Yeah kid?”
“Do you really think… that the S.T.A.F.F bots… won’t be able to see you… in the ball pit?”
“Kid, we both know that the bots are really stupid. They won’t be able to find us here.”
Gregory snapped his head up to Monty, glaring at him. Before he started to furiously whisper to him.
“Monty, the balls barely make it pass your ankles.”
Just as Monty opened his mouth to argue back, a flashlight landed on them.
“GO, GO, GO!” Gregory shouted as he pushed at the gator’s chest.
“I’M GOING, I’M GOING!” Monty shouted back, almost slipping on the balls as he ran.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Monty walked to the red door after the S.T.A.F.F bot moved away. And quickly shut the door behind them. Stopping at the door as he waited for the bot to move past the counter from the other side.
“Alright, any food you had in mind kid?” Monty asked as he kept an eye on the bot.
Gregory almost crossed his arms on his chest, before he remembered that he needs to keep one on his side. So, he just put his left arm on his chest, holding on to his shoulder, hoping he could still make himself look at least somewhat intimidating.
“I’m not a kid, and anything is fine by me.”
“Even the Mystery Mix?” Monty raised his eyebrow, giving the kid a quick look. His eyes going back to the bot. Trying to keep his amusement out of his voice, the kid looked like one of those over dramatic, stuck-up moms hearing their precious babies swearing for the first time.
“Anything but that, is fine by me”
“Come on kid, it's not that bad. Even Chica loves it.”
“Chica will eat trash straight out of the can. And she can’t taste it, she doesn’t count.”
Monty really couldn't keep his amusement out of his voice if he tried.
This kid is fucking hilarious, just wait until Roxy meets this kid.
“Come on kid, don’t judge a lady on how she gets her food. You don’t know if it tastes good coming from the trash.”
“I have had food from the trash, and it’s gross.”
Monty froze and looked down at the kid.
“... Kid, when did you have to eat from the trash?”
Gregory shut his mouth and looked away from Monty. Tightening his arms around himself. Looking towards the counter instead, looking for anything to distract the gator with.
"You know what, I think chips and a drink will work just fine.”
“Kid, that doesn’t answer my question.” Monty's voice was stern, and his grip tighten just a little. Gregory turned his head back to Monty and glared up at him.
“Hey, you don’t question the trash, I won’t question why you keep staring at me.”
Monty looked at the kid for another minute, knowing he should push the kid more about this. But they really didn't have time for this, the kid needed medical attention. This was something he could talk to Freddy about later. Before turning his head away. And walking up to the counter and started to look at what they had. His eyes landing on the can drinks.
“What type of drink do you want?”
“The Freddy Fizzy Faz.”
Monty gave a sigh. “Of course, you would, you sure I can’t get you to take my Fizzy Faz?”
“No, limes are gross.”
Gregory gave Monty a smirk, lifting his left arm up, and making grabby hands at the orange can.
“You are a gremlin child.”
“And you are a dumb gator.”
Monty’s head turned, and glared down at the kid
“Am not.”
“Are too, I was able to electrocute you by making you run into a wall.” Gregory turned his head to meet the gators eyes. His body tensed for a moment, his eyes flashing with an intense emotion. Before turning smug. He gave the gator a smirk.
“That doesn’t count, I had a virus in my system.”
“A virus doesn’t affect how smart you are.”
“It does for humans.”
“Human viruses are different from computer viruses.”
Monty kept glaring at kid for a moment. Try to think of an argument to give the kid. Before he let his glare drop and shrug his shoulders.
“Well, you got me there.”
The kid’s whole body relaxed. His smirk turned into a smile.
“That is because I’m smarter than you.”
Monty opened his mouth to argue back, when once again a light shined on them. Instead, he said.
“Oh shit, here we go again.”
Monty quickly grabbed the soda and some napkins, before he turned around and ran for the door.
~~~~~~~~~~~
“Monty?”
“Yeah, little guy?”
“We forgot the chips.”
Monty stopped in the middle of the walkway for a minute, looking around to make sure no S.T.A.F.F bots were there before he responded.
“I’m sure we can get some later.”
“But they won’t be your chips.”
“... I guess we’re going back.”
Monty started to turn around, before he could start walking. Gregory used his free hand to get a hold of his left shoulder. Pulling himself up to Monty’s eyesight. Gregory letting out a whine as he did.
“Wait, Monty, I was joking, we need to get to Freddy.”
Monty used one hand to grab Gregory’s right side, and the other to the kid’s shoulder. He glanced down to the little guy’s side. It was still bleeding; they were able to use the napkins to put pressure on the wound. But too much blood was still coming out for Monty's liking. How could Monty even say that? The kid was still bleeding out, they need to stop fucking around, get to the gift shop, out of the golf course, and straight to Freddy.
Monty removed his hand from his shoulder and used it to take the kids hand off from his shoulder. Letting the little guy take his hand from his, and help the little guy settle back down in his arms. And turned back around.
“You’re right let’s get to the gift shop. They’ll have something better than napkins. Who knows what’s on those napkins.”
Gregory grimaced as he leaned closer to the gator’s chest.
“Don’t remind me, I’m trying not to think about it.”
Monty let out another mechanical noise. This time it sounded like an amused huff; Monty felt whatever that thing in his torso settles down. And something warmer taking it place. Monty felt vaguely worried about a second thing in his chest, but he didn’t want to ruin the moment. Plus, this one didn’t feel has bad as the first one. He would talk to Freddy about this later.
~~~~~~~~~~~
“Why are we hiding behind a fucking vending machine?” Gregory whispered harshly while glaring up at the gator, hoping he could feel his anger from here.
“Come on kid, the bots won’t be able to find us here.” He looked down at the kid and saw him glaring hard. Monty could feel his wires shivering from the glare.
Damn, where did the kid learn how to glare like that from? Hopefully Roxy never learns from this kid. Monty’s wires shivered even harder at that thought. He didn’t want to be around when that eventually happened.
“Monty, you thought hiding in the ball pit while standing was a good idea.”
“Hey! That wasn’t the plan! The bot saw us before I could do anything else!”
“What else would you have done?”
Monty glanced up to his right before he responds, seeing a bot coming straight for them.
“I’ll tell you while I outrun this S.T.A.F.F bot.”
“Monty, you don’t even have to run from them, it's like a light jog for you. If they don’t sneak up on you first.” Monty let out a snort as he started to slide his way out from behind the machine.
“Don’t ruin my line, kid. It’s much cooler to say it that way.” As soon as he was out, the gator started jogging down the hallway.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Monty walked right up to the wood cabin that was the gift shop. It took longer than they wanted, but finally they made it.
“Here we are, Monty’s Gift Shop.”
“Did they really have to put your name on everything? That seems a little much.”
“Hey! There is nothing wrong with putting my name on everything. Besides the company’s name is Freddy Fazbear Entertainment, what else did you expect?”
Monty walked into the shop, glancing back to the entrance every minute. The S.T.A.F.F bots usually don’t come up here. But it doesn’t hurt to keep an eye on it.
“You have a point, but let's get back to clothes. Do you have any Freddy stuff?”
“Kid, we’re in my golf course. Do you think that they would have any Freddy stuff?”
Gregory pointed to one of the standing shelfs in front of them.
“There is a Freddy plushie right there.”
“And only Freddy plushies, we would have to go to the main gift shop for any of Freddy's clothing. My face isn’t that terrible.”
Gregory looked up at Monty and raised an eyebrow at him. Tilting his head to the side a little.
“... Have you seen yourself in the mirror recently?”
Monty rolled his eyes. “Ha ha, very funny kid, just pick something out.”
Gregory took a moment to look around the shop. His eyes landed on a couple of things he thinks would be cool. But that he doesn’t really need now. But he couldn’t find any clothes.
“We might need to go straight to Freddy. I don’t see any clothes here.”
“Huh, I could've sworn that we had some here. Let me check something really quick.”
Monty moved past the standing shelfs, going to his right where the register was. Putting Gregory downright next to the register. Before walking around the counter. He squatted down, looking for something to use. There was a couple of boxes stacked on top of each other. Looking at the labels, he found one that said something about shirts. That would have to do. Hopefully it would be something the kid would like. He moved the box on top to the side, picking up the box that was under it. Bringing it up with him and placing it right next to Gregory.
“I found a box of shirts.”
Gregory turned himself to the left. Cringing for a moment, his wound being pulled at once more. Before turning his whole body around, putting his legs on the other side of the counter. Still looking at Monty as he did.
“Really? What type of shirts?”
“We’re about to find out.”
Monty brought his left hand up, placing his pointer finger right on the tape. Dragging his finger down, doing his best not to snag anything inside it. As soon as he was done, he grabbed both sides of the box and ripped it open.
Both Gregory and Monty leaned over to get a good look of what was inside. Gregory gave the box a deadpan look, it was a box full of short sleeve t-shirts covered in Monty’s cartoon face.
“Well, well, well that is one fine looking shirt. The best-looking shirt I’ve seen in a while. The company really out did themselves this time.”
“Oh, shut up Monty, and help me find a size that will fit.”
After a few ripped shirts, they were finally able to find a shirt that could be warped around Gregory’s waist.
“Let me tie it, you’re going to rip it.”
“You sure? You’re not looking so good, kid.”
“Yes, I’m sure, I don’t want you ripping all the shirts we have.”
Monty hovered for a minute, before his shoulders dropped and let out a sigh.
“Alright, alright, I hear you loud and clear.”
Monty moved a couple of steps back.
It took Gregory a couple of minutes, but he was finally able to tie the shirt around him. He was struggling to tighten the knot. He just couldn’t get his arms to work, they were too shaky, it felt like both of his arms turned to jello. He felt so tired as well, he just wanted to lay down and fall asleep.
Monty watches the kid struggle for a couple more minutes. Before moving closer to the kid.
“Let me tighten it for you little guy.”
“It’s fine, I can do it… I just need another minute.” Gregory said as he glared down at the shirt, if the shirt would just stay still for a minute, he could get it.
“Kid, you look like you're about to fall over. You took care of tying it, I can handle a little bit of tightening."
Gregory lifted his head up and took a moment to look at Monty. His eyes narrowed up at the gator. Monty could once again feel that glare down to his very wires.
“Fine, but if you tear this one up…”
“I’ll do my best not to. I’ll owe you a favor if I do, that sounds good?”
Gregory nodded, letting his hands drop to the sides. Monty got on his kneeled down to get a better look and grabbed the ends of the knot and started pulling at it gently. His shoulders tense, Gregory sat there looking down at the gator’s hands. Wondering how could Monty control his strength? Was it the same way that humans do? How similar are these animatronics to humans? Was there a difference? Beside them being machines, and humans being squishy.
What was the difference between us and them?
… Does that mean I almost… Killed a person?
Gregory notices the blood on Monty’s right hand. He tensed and looked away; he knew that the gator wasn’t in the right state of mind when he did that. Monty seems to feel bad about it. He kept staring at him when he thought he wasn't looking. Holding him close, almost flat out growling at the S.T.A.F.F bots if they got too close to him. He was trying his best to prove Gregory that was a onetime thing. That it would never happen again.
That was what his mom used to say, when she first started drinking. She would say or do something, the next day she would apologize, say it wouldn’t happen again. But still go back to her drinks the very same night.
He really didn’t want that to happen again.
He really didn't want Monty to hurt him again.
He didn’t want Freddy to start hurting him.
Gregory felt the shirt around his torso starting to feel a little too tight.
He jumped and turned his head back to the gator in front of him. Looking startled for a second before his eyes narrowed and he glared at the gator.
“What are you trying to do? Squish me into a pancake?”
Monty chuckled, letting go of his shirt, getting off the floor and taking a step back. His shoulders seemed lower than he remembered them being just a minute ago.
“Nah, just wanted to make sure it was tight enough, don’t want it falling off as I ran off with you. Or a S.T.A.F.F bot to grab you by it and drag you off to somewhere else.”
Gregory huffed, moving forwards a little.
“Like that would happen, I’m too fast for them.”
Gregory jumped off the counter, his feet barely touching the floor. When he was scooped right off the floor, and back into the gator’s arms.
“Hey! I can walk!”
“No can-do kid, you are not looking well enough to keep walking around. Besides, it's faster this way.”
Gregory huffed, crossing his arms and looking away from the gator. He could admit, he was tired, and he felt like he could fall over any minute. He has dealt with this before, when he went without food days at a time. But he wasn’t bleeding out those times, and he didn’t hide around every corner, with the risk of getting caught by some crazy robots, security guard, or that rabbit lady.
Even if Monty has the risk of turning on him. At least it seems like he would turn on him later, when he had Freddy.
“Whatever, let's just get out of here already.”
“Can do kid.”
Monty started to walk out of the store. Looking both ways to see if the coast was clear.
“Shit, Monty-”
“S.T.A.F.F bot?”
Gregory nodded and pointed right at the bot. Coming right towards them. How did these bots keep sneaking up on them? Monty sighed and started walking towards the elevator.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Monty couldn’t help but let out a whistle at how many S.T.A.F.F. were out by the main stage. Staring at the many bots from the entrance to his golf course.
“They are really bumping up security tonight.”
“It’s not always like this?” Gregory tilled his head up to Monty.
“Nope, it's usually about half of this amount. Unless something like a little gremlin was able to sneak in.” Monty looked down at the kid, about to move his hand up, and pull down his glasses and winked at him. Before he remembered what happened last time, he did that. He kept his hand on the kids back.
Gregory glared at him.
“Well maybe they should have more human staff to look out for this sort of thing. Or something like you guys.”
“They had some sort of puppet animatronic as one years ago. But it had a flaw in its design, something about it was too easy to stop.” Monty shrugged, Gregory rolled his eyes and looked away from the gator and back out to the bots.
“Well how are we able to get past all of this?”
“See kid, this is where my mind-blowing idea comes in.” Gregory could hear the smirk in the gators voice. He gave the gator a glance over his shoulder.
“Really?”
“Hey, don’t go doubting my ideas.”
Gregory turned his head back, giving him a look of disbelief.
“You said it’s better than hiding in Freddy’s stomach hatch.”
“It really is.”
“What place could be better than that?”
“Trust me kid, you’ll see…”
~~~~~~~~~~~
“This was your mind blowing idea? A fucking potted plant? There’s no way they won’t see us.”
“Hey, this tree is almost as big as me! There’s no way they’ll be able to see us!”
Gregory looked up to the gator with a deadpan look and looked off to his right. Looking straight into the eyes of the S.T.A.F.F bot that was headed right towards them. And back at the gator, throwing his right arm out, pointing at the S.T.A.F.F bot.
“Then what do you call that? A fucking huge Roomba with a hoverboard for feet and a flashlight not coming towards us?”
Monty snapped his head up, his eyes immediately finding the bot Gregory was talking about.
“Well, I wouldn’t call it a Roomba, that would be the wet floor signs.” Monty said as he turned away from the S.T.A.F.F bot, bringing Gregory closer to his body. While the kid put his arm down. Walking away from his ‘mind blowing spot’, while making sure their path was clear.
“The S.T.A.F.F bots would be more like, uh… a knock off brand of that Siri thing! While clearly made to do something else.”
“How does that make any sense? What else would they be made for? And why Siri?”
“I don’t know, just something I heard from people. A couple of guys came in here a few months ago, talking about some rumor they heard, hiding missing kids in animatronic suits. I couldn’t hear more about that, Vanessa kicked them out pretty quick. And some lady, I think her name was Karen? Was talking to some human staff, comparing the S.T.A.F.F to Siri. I figure that they must be similar enough for her to compare them.”
Gregory snorted, covering his mouth.
“What’s so funny?”
“How do you know that’s the lady's name?”
“I overheard the human staff talking about it. She is always complaining about something, even at other stores, from the number of times I’ve heard guests and staff complain about her.”
Gregory giggled, trying his best to keep quiet.
“I don’t get it, what’s so funny about Karen?”
Gregory wheezed, his left arm wrapping around his stomach. Leaning into the gator, shaking in a semi-silent laughter. Monty smirked, glad that he was able to get the kid to laugh. Even if he didn’t understand why he was laughing about some lady. He turned to the left, going straight to Fazer Blast. Freddy had sent a message to Gregory’s watch earlier while they were running from some S.T.A.F.F bots. Telling them where he found the first aid station. Fazer Blast was the only place that Freddy thought would be safe enough to bring the kid to. But Freddy would have to wait in the area for them. If he left the first aid protocol would be canceled, and he would have to find another spot and start the process over again. So, Freddy would be waiting for them at the elevator entrance. Right next to the S.T.A.F.F bot guarding it.
Luckily, it didn’t seem like the other Glamrocks were not around. So, they only had to dodge S.T.A.F.F bots. Which Gregory had to admit, Monty was pretty good at dodging them. Sure, some of his hiding spots were… Interesting to say the least. He was fast, Monty didn’t even have to run from the bots. He just jogged away from them.
Gregory's body tense, the kid letting out a whine. His left hand now holding on to his side.
Fuck, that hurts. Note to self, never laugh when your side is all teared up.
“Easy kid, easy.”
Usually, Gregory didn’t like it when someone called him kid. He was too old to be a kid, he hasn’t been one for years. But it felt different when Monty said it, his voice didn’t change. Like how other adults would when they called him that. He couldn’t remember at this moment what, but he knew the tone of voice was different when Monty said it. Just like with Freddy, neither of them talked to him like he was a nuisance. They talked to him like he was something… What was it called?
“Kid, earth to kid. Are you there?”
Gregory shook his head. Looking back up at Monty, now is not the time to be lost in thought. Even if Monty seems to be back to normal, Gregory still remembers earlier. Monty looking at the catwalk, and in the hallway, he never thought it would be easy to read an animatronics face. But it was surprisingly easy to tell what they were thinking. Monty was angry, there was only a few times Gregory has ever seen that type of anger. And it never ended well for him, he thought he would be done for. Getting his attention, the way he did, both times, he knew from his mom that saying anything didn’t end well.
But Gregory couldn’t let Monty sit like that. Not when they had to get moving, not when there was something seriously wrong with the other bots. Gregory didn’t want to have to call Freddy back, saying his friend had turned once more. It would break his nonexistent heart.
What was surprising was Monty shook himself out of it. He wiped away any previous anger from his mind and asked if he was ready to go. Gregory was surprised by that, but right then was not a good time to ask about that. Gregory knew he shouldn’t even ask at all about the incident. He should be grateful he wasn’t hit and moved on. But he was curious about what got the gator so angry, and he would admit that he was concerned. Monty seems like a cool guy; he didn’t want to see him angry at all.
Gregory straightened up his back and looked at the gator. Even with his shades covering his eyes, he could feel his eyes digging into his skin. He put his left hand on his side, pushing the shirt down onto the wound. Even if the bleeding has slowed down, and the shirt was tight enough to keep enough pressure on it. It still hurts bad, and it made him feel somewhat better, keeping his hand pressed down like this.
“I’m fine, I just moved my side too much.”
Monty looked up for a second, making sure there were no more S.T.A.F.F bots in their way. Before looking back down at Gregory, making his way up the stairs.
“You’re, uh, not in any more pain, are you?”
“Nope, it’s still that same amount as last time you asked.”
“Just making sure kid, just making sure.”
Monty lifted his head up once more. Giving his full attention to everything around him. Gregory let his shoulders drop, and his body relaxed. Glad to have his eyes off him. He was never a fan of being the center of attention. It never ended well for him.
Gregory took this moment to get a good look of his surroundings. He hasn’t been able to get a good look of any of his surroundings since he got here. He had to admit, he could see why people would come here. It was very cool looking, and there was something around every corner. He would love to try some of the games out some day. Preferable during the day, without the killer animatronics after him. Especially Fazer Blast, it looked so cool! Speaking of Fazer Blast.
“Wait, how was Freddy able to get into Fazer Blast? I thought you needed a party pass to get in?”
“Fazer Blast is Freddy’s area, no one will be stopping him from going to his own area.”
Monty stopped right in front of the door. Waiting for a moment, keeping an eye out as the doors open. Jogging in as soon as the doors open, heading straight towards the elevator. Where Freddy was waiting for them, his ears perked up and he straightened his back.
“Gregory!”
