Agent Monet didn’t usually do much for Christmas anyway, so she didn’t mind working today. In fact, she was sure she’d have a lot more fun joining Edgar on a mission! Still, she has brought something for the occasion, a gift of sorts.
“Merry Christmas, fine wine,” she grinned, handing him a wrapped… bottle of wine. She couldn’t resist!

Ethan was spending Christmas with Martha, it made things much easier for Edgar who was jaded enough to see Christmas as just another day himself. He did not mind being sent out of the Embassy over the holiday, avoiding the staff Christmas party with the Ambassador was a Christmas Gift all it's own! Agent Monet was a good excuse to seem too busy to join too, it was all falling into place as she came to his office.
Admittedly he was quite surprised when the agent handed him a wrapped present. Of course it was obviously a bottle and he rather unceremoniously pulled the paper off to have a look seeing it was indeed a nice wine. He cracked a smile and looked over to her, actually looking quite touched.
"Thank you," he said genuinely, "Merry Christmas to you too, I wasn't... I didn't expect you to get me anything," so he had not thought to get her something! A little embarrassed he sought to salvage the situation as best he could, "So how about we share this one?" A quick lifting of the bottle to indicate he did indeed mean the wine as he gestured for her to join him.

It wasn't the first time that Fish had to travel the universes to indulge Dimitri's newest whim. In fact, she was sure that his requests were becoming increasingly ridiculous. After asking her to bring him the Apples of the Hesperides because he was craving apple pie, he had now told her to fetch him the Holy Grail, no less. All because he couldn't be bothered to wash his goddamn mugs. You'd think that after 20.000 years of being alive, the man would do his chores.
She was hoping for an easy trip. Get in, get the Grail, get out. Simple enough, right? Especially with a magical door that led to virtually anywhere. The only problem was that she didn't really know where the Holy Grail was kept, in this big castle. And the more she roamed the place, the more likely she risked getting caught. She was pretty sure that if a guard saw a woman with a sword and a pair of jeans, they'd think she was a witch or something.
She climbed an endless flight of stairs for the umpteenth time that night, finally finding herself in a dark, secluded room atop a dungeon. And finally, here it was. Dimitri's newest mug.
"Bingo," she said to herself, too enthralled in her victory to hear the footsteps behind her.

The Winter Solstice was celebrated very differently in District 4, and the only gifts people exchanged there were either beautiful shells or sea glass found on the beach. Upon arriving in the Capitol, Fish quickly realized that here, gift-giving was a big part of the celebrations. And of course, the gifts had to be expensive.
She adapted to the tradition quickly, always a chameleon, and got Caesar a very sparkly blue tie that made him tear up with emotion. But as for finding a gift for the President, that was another matter entirely. After hesitating for a few days (Should she even buy him one? Was it rude to do it, or rude not to do it?) she had settled on a pair of silver cuff links shaped like roses. A little bit on the nose, but he was not exactly an easy man to shop for.
Giving the gift to him was yet another nerve-wracking experience, and she just placed the box before him, eyes darted at the table awkwardly. "I just wanted to thank you for everything you have done for me this year, Mr. President."

Coriolanus had not expected a gift from Fish Monet of all people. Yes, his officers and various suck ups were expected usually out of necessity, sometimes out of life or death. As for himself, he usually treated his immediate family to gifts, trivial usually except for Cassia who was the known and obvious favourite.
He cast a look over the box presented to him, raising his eyebrows in some surprise, genuine for a change as his mind whirred with the possibilities. Was there poison in the box like Lucy Gray had done with his mother's compact? Was it a genuine gift, properly thought out to gain more of his favour? Or was she in the belief that he could be paid off for all he had indeed done for her.
"That is very thoughtful of you, Miss Monet," he accepted or at least seemed to as he picked up the box and carefully opened it, off to the side so he could dodge anything that might fly out of it.
A flash of silver and his eyes settled on the pair of cufflinks and their statement shape. He did admire them for a long moment in total silence, his eyes looking over the details she at least had an understanding of what he would like. "Thank you," he said in half a grumble and then closed the box, setting it aside and willing himself not to even look at the box again as if he had lost all interest in it. She could not be of the belief that she knew his tastes.
"I understand that things are done differently in the Districts this time of year. Remind me what is the tradition in District 4? Gift giving is not usually practiced." So she had to be playing his game, didn't she?

Fish's tone couldn't have been less cordial. She gauged the man in front of her, eyebrows knitted together. "And what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at the park, feeding ducks?"
She took an annoyed sip from her glass, scanning the room quickly. It was a very select party, the fancy kind she usually wouldn't be invited to. But this was work, and she was undercover, posing as a rich heiress. She supposed Edgar had good reasons to be here, being (on the surface at least) a diplomat and all. But still, how annoying! She still remembered their last encounter, and it hadn't exactly gone smoothingly.
"Don't mess this up for me this time," she warned between her teeth, "I'm working."
