Did you know you can pick unique natural wood blocks as well? We have loads of curly birch blocks in various sizes, qualities and cuts up for sale individually. Both cheap offcuts and more exclusive selected blocks. These are meant for projects where a piece "from the shelf" just won't do. With natural materials differences between blocks vary greatly and having a WYSIWYG system negates this. Waiting for summer vacation

 @varusteleka-fi Terava Jaakari Puukko from Finland , which I got as a companion to my Skrama bushknife .

I chose the 80CRV2 high carbon steel one over the stainless  version like my Skrama and opted for the unsheathed version as will make my own for it . 

You will notice that the knifes spine has been slightly ground on either side this helps to create great sparks from a fire-steel and is also done as the outer sides of the steel are softer  52 HRC than the central core which is 59 HRC so is technically differential heat treated

The Scandi ground knife shipped shaving sharp and came with a basic molded plastic blade guard .  This was perhaps designed so it could be inserted into a traditional style leather sheath , its unfortunate that it doesn’t lock up onto the knife like with the molded plastic skrama sheaths  but look forward to making my own and using this in the coming months .
