I've always wondered,
Why does Bad carry all his backpacks in his inventory? Why doesn't he wear one on his backpack slot? Even when he had his backpacks in backpacks before the restart he still didn't have one on his back. And it always bugged me, like it's taking up inventory space?
And while watching really old vods (like I'm talking early days of Dapper) I was confused when Bad put his main backpack in his backpack slot and not in his inventory. Because like if he did it then, why doesn't he do it now?
I DISCOVERED THE REASON!
After an amount of hours of vod watching (you will have to pry that number from my cold dead hands, I will never ever share the amount of hours I spend catching up on old vods) I finally found the reason! I feel like I just made like a monumental archeological discovery because it just, a missing puzzle piece has been found. I'm so satisfied now.
I hate myself that I lost which vod this came from but I just wanted to share this because it just, aaaaaaaaaaaa. I'm so happy I have an answer to this unanswered question I've had since I started watching Bad late last year and maybe other Ghosties had the same question?
I found the origin story, buried deep in one of the vods I was watching while falling asleep last night and wrote"backpack because item recovery backpack slot in danger dungeon with dapper" in my notes app at 3am (big props to past Rhia for that, I would've totally forgotten)
And then opened my notes today to note down smth from today's stream, admittedly I don't remember what, but I found the note and remembered I was gonna share my newfound knowledge so here it is!
Bad doesn't wear a backpack on his backpack slot because when you die your artifact slots don't immediately transfer to your body when you hit transfer items. You have to do it twice in order to get all your stuff.
Bad is in a dungeon in which there is no easy way to get Dapper out as soon as things go bad. Bad gets downed and purposely forces the respawn so Dapper won't try to come help him. He set a bed beforehand so he runs back into the dungeon, yelling for Dapper to stay wherever he is. He gets to his body, collects his stuff and goes back to fighting. But THEN he tries to grab something from his backpack and Oops, his backpack is still in his corpse. He gets knocked again, respawns again, gets his items, kills the mobs and THEN he recovers his main backpack.
Dapper was fine, he didn't get knocked at all but the fact that Bad couldn't immediately access his items in an emergency scared him about it happening in a more dangerous situation and he never puts it in his backpack slot again from that day on.
It's another habit he's picked up from being a paranoid babysitter, I finally have an answer! VINDICATION!

was watching 악어's (acau's) vod today (it's amazing finally understanding more than one language on the qsmp fully ayeeee) and just wanted to clarify something! was noticing that 어색해 (second vod around min 52) was getting translated to "awkward". it isn't wrong persay but in english, saying that a person to person interaction was "awkward" has a bit of a negative connotation -- it's definitely not a positive word
when i tend to use 어색해, which is a word i almost only heard when talking about human interaction, i usually mean "shy" more than awkward. it's a bit of a complicated feeling -- you're a bit shy and a bit lost but it's a word that generally has pretty positive connotations (i like to think of it like the shyness that comes from meeting someone you really like/want to get to know better/want to impress, but that's more of a personal thing?)
i noticed it because quackity probably saw the word "awkward" instead of shy at the end of his tour/showing 악어 around. so he immediately assured 악어 that the qsmp team is there to help (which was sweet <3) but probably 악어 meant more of a "i'm a bit shy so i'll take a bit of time to do some personal exploring"
he also said that he was sure that any shyness (어색한) would wear off after he got to know people better!

hi its aussie anon again! uh due to needing sleep i was unfortunately not conscious for quite a bit of the stream today. i do plan on binging a vod or supercut or smth, but what did i miss? thanks <3
sure, i can do my best!
joe hills starts streaming early and is the only pov that never stops the entire day, and is the last to finish streaming as well. he starts by logging in on hermitcraft and also hanging out with the in-person hermits, as well as showing us that they're setting up for hot ones.
people start streaming. most of them log onto hermitcraft, where they reveal a two hour donation incentive where, if you donate 50, they'll put your name on a sign on the server, and if you donate 200, that sign will be glowing and you'll have the whole sign for yourself. between that and a generous donor matching donations, the hermits basically IMMEDIATELY smash past 500k, and almost all the way to 600k. the hermits then scramble to keep up with the signs.
hot ones starts! zedaph, tango, impulse, skizz, grian, jimmy, and iskall are the starting contestants, and i recommend impulse, skizz, iskall, jimmy if he was streaming, or tango as povs for this if you want to see the whole thing. later, pearl tags in for grian and joe tags in for jimmy, both of whom end up giving up early. they are both impressively impervious to the spices, which is very funny as especially zedaph and iskall start dying on the spot.
the hermits get past 650k and all get new nerf guns, these ones like, the terrifying automatic rifle nerf guns you were jealous of the one kid that had, and start an all-out war. someone brings up that the event as a whole (not just the hermits but the entire LAN event) is about to hit one million, so zedaph suits up in "protective gear" and the hermits all murder him in a firing squad in celebration. joe's pov is really good for this (he gave us two angles!), as is scar's or tango's i think.
the hermits go back to placing signs, and scar reads donos and hypes up the auction items. scar's stream is probably best for the end of the auction, and he gives a really sweet and heartfelt speech after the end of it. the auction ends on a bang!
the hermits split off to now all play the zedlypmics! i can't tell you much of what happened for this, this is when i left to go take a walk/do pokemon go community day since i recently got back into that/feed my dog/prepare to road trip tomorrow. however it was the zedlympics, i'm sure it was fun! basically everyone joined in on that one.
finally, joe specifically split off at the very end to play some live physical tcg with pearl (and also hit each other with zedaph's milky boppers from yesterday). after a single game they both admit joe is exhausted, and joe ends the stream, sending us to raid one of his favorite pinball streamers who had, i kid you not, four viewers before the ~6k of us showed up. manu was stunned, and i hope everyone who stuck around enjoys that!
and in the end, we raised well over 800k for gamer's outreach, which is a WILD ACHIEVEMENT!
and... yep, that's the highlights! hopefully that gives you an idea of who you should and shouldn't watch! meanwhile, from yesterday, iskall has already put up a video from his pov of guess the build and bingo on his second channel, so i'd go ahead and suspect iskall's going to continue to put highlights there, for anyone waiting for highlights!

You would be okay! Thinking back at your friends’ words... You would continue to do your best! Even if no one comes, all you had to do was gain confidence and keep going until someone does!
After a moment of hesitation, you pressed the button, tabbing over to the game.
"Welcome to the stream, everyone!" You said. "I'm Catatouille, and I hope my stream will make you all happy today!"
Glancing over to your phone, you saw the symbol for one viewer, fueling on your hope. Someone was watching! Then... You had to do your best to make them smile–
Oh.
Right, it was from your phone.
'That's okay,' you thought to yourself as you started to collect wood. 'I'm a new streamer... So I'll just have fun!'
There was no mistaking how excited you were to start this journey of yours. But grandpa Xiao would definitely tell you that growth would be slow... So patience would be key!

You turned your attention to the game in front of you. You would have fun! It was all in good fun, right?
But then!
The world slowed down. First, you felt the dread as you hear the sound of footsteps. Then the horror as you see it emerge from the shadows, running from the unlit part of the cave. You would begin to think. Regret. Contemplate why you didn’t craft a shield before this expedition. You frantically tried to defend yourself, hitting just shy outside of the hitbox. And then you hear the sound of getting hit, your character falling, being thrown into lava behind you. Then, to the sound of your character burning, the story of how you got all your stuff flashing before your eyes. When you discovered the amethyst cave, how you found the vein of five diamonds, the music disc you found from a dungeon, you see your hearts go down, and so does the time, your hope for the future playthrough of this game. And when you’re on the death screen, it finally sinks in. Your stuff is gone, your levels are reset. You are alone—
Catatouille tried to swim in lava to escape Baby Zombie.
Out of the corner of your eye, you see something move in the chat box.
You couldn't respond for a moment at the whiplash of feelings. Yes, you wanted to cry, curse the world for bringing you a baby zombie of all things, and the annoying words from chat didn't help at all... but also...!
A chatter! A real one! And not the random bots you saw in the viewers tab!
"Welcome to the stream, Scaramouche!" You said, forgetting your previous annoyances for just a moment. "Hope your day is going well!"
“Yep!” You said, giddy with the thought of having your first fan. “Will do!”
"I'm not rage quitting!" You insist, exiting your survival world and quitting to the main menu. "Not because of something so trivial! I'm going to keep on persevering until I beat the Ender Dragon, mind you!"
You took a deep breath, collecting yourself. At least this stream has been going well! A chatter that stuck with you... Luck was in your favor! Except the fact that your friends never showed up... But they'd probably embarass you in some way... Hm.
"Anyway... Thanks for showing up, Scaramouche... And any other lurkers watching," you said with a smile, even though you didn't have a webcam on. "I’m going to keep on trying to be a steamer you can be proud of, don't worry! And my next stream is tomorrow, so try to watch it if you can!"

You haven’t seen your boyfriend, Wilbur, in months.
Okay, scratch that, you have seen him. On FaceTime, on Instagram, little clips of him singing on Twitter. Old VODs you’ve been listening to so you can fall asleep.
You’ve seen him, but it’s not enough. You want to hold him, to be held. You want to fall asleep with him on the couch watching movies, and listen to him sing. Not to the crowds, not with his band. The kind of half singing, half humming he does whenever you’re having a hard time falling asleep, or when you’re having a bad day.
You don’t realize you’re crying until you feel the tears dripping onto your hand, and you look down at them blankly, sucking in a deep breath when you realize you’d been holding your breath.
You glance to the other side of your bed, frown deepening when the sight just reminds you that Wilbur isn’t there. You sniffle and climb out of bed, glancing at the clock and groaning. It’s only like 11:00AM, and Wilbur isn’t meant to be back until 2:00PM tomorrow. You’ve been counting the days since the moment he boarded the plane two months ago, which… probably hadn’t helped you feel less lonely, but at least he would be back soon.
You sigh and walk to the closet, rummaging through it until you find one of his jumpers, slipping it off the hook and burying your face into the soft material.
The jumper is probably years old, honestly, and you’ve only seen Wilbur wear it a couple times. It’s thin, with loose threads and what seems to be cat hair stuck to it. You can’t help but chuckle at the sight, then walk back to the bed and sit at the edge of it, grabbing a pillow and stuffing it inside the jumper. You should probably be up and ready for the day at this time, but you don’t really care. It’s not like you have anything you need to do.
You figure that it’s fine to wallow in your loneliness for a couple more hours.
You flop back onto the bed and roll onto your side, curling yourself around the pillow and burying your face into it, shutting your eyes and squeezing it in your arms. After a minute, you lift your head slightly and grab your phone from where it’s resting near your hand, connecting your Bluetooth to the small speaker on Wilbur’s nightstand, pulling up one of his random podcast episodes and pushing play.
You fall asleep eventually, listening to Wilbur ramble about bugs and little ecosystems.

You wake up a couple hours later to the feeling of the bed dipping, and you mumble incoherently to yourself, rubbing your eyes and starting to sit up. You feel a hand slip into your hair and a hand press against you, gently pressing you back down onto the bed.
“Hello there, sleepyhead.” You hear a voice coo softly. You’re immediately wide awake, sitting up quickly and staring at Wilbur, who’s hovering above you with his fingers gently running through your hair. Your jaw drops and you stare at him for a moment before shoving away the pillow and wrapping your arms around him.
“Wh-what? When did you get home?” You ask, eyes wide. You turn your head and grab your phone to check the date, leaving you even more confused. He giggles a little bit hysterically.
“Surprise!” He says, tackling you and forcing you back onto the bed. He starts to kiss you all over your face, and you weakly attempt to push him off of you.
“Gah, Wil!” You complain lightly, wrapping your arms tighter around him as he presses a quick kiss to your neck.
“I know I told you I’d be back tomorrow, I just wanted to surprise you.” He explains, putting his hands on either side of your face and smiling down at you. You match his expression.
“I wish you’d told me you’d be back today so I can clean up a bit, at least.” You say, lifting a hand to cup his cheek and lean in to kiss him once. He chuckles into it.
“Well, at least I’m here, yeah?” He asks, dropping one hand away from your face and reaching for your hand, lacing your fingers with his and gently squeezing it. You squeeze him back. “Looks like I was right on time, too.” He notes, dipping his head to kiss your forehead. “You were practically strangling that pillow.”
Your face flushes and you smile shyly at him. “Just missed you.” You mumble, pressing your face into the crook of his neck. He sighs softly and lays down, pressing you against his chest and curling around you.
“I missed you too, my love.” He whispers, pressing a kiss to your hairline. You smile gently and let your eyes fall shut.
You can’t wait to make up for the lost time with him.

Ok back into qsmp lore thoughts. today really was the perfect final catalyst for q!Bad to completely snap, it felt so targeted to him tbh. watch the vod if you haven’t
His mental break has been building up for weeks as we all know, from the losing his kids and 5 stages of grief turning grey, to him getting harmed by soul vultures and bleeding blue from the open wounds. his kids’ accessories being taken from their beds and burned in lava. him kidnapping and torturing a worker but then developing a twisted lima syndrome family relationship with them.
talking to photos of the eggs like they are really here, being put in jail. having his house get broken into, as his trust issues plummet even further into the gutter. finding out the federation is making reports about him and might come after him for the kidnapping. doing insane manipulation tests on his friends to find the secret federation spy, and actively burning bridges with them. reveal that he’s not been sleeping for 3 weeks.
And then today he meets codeflippa, being completely convinced that it’s the real flippa and arguing with the others because he’s so desperate for anything about the eggs. then suddenly finding dapper’s top hat in the maze. being singled out by an entity (cucurevil?) to get ticket #0003, now being forced to wonder if he was an original island resident and got his memories tampered with. q!max insisting the eggs are dead, and q!pierre implying there’s hidden cameras set up in his house didn’t help either
Like, god. buckets of salt just got poured in the wounds he’s been already dealing with in the span of a couple hours... of course it would all finally explode and cause a mental breakdown. this poor cubito got severely paranoid & disassociated from reality + his own memories and it was terrifying to watch his madness spiral in the last hour or so of stream. q!bad really needs help, but it’s only gonna get worse from here I fear…

correct me if im wrong (im watching etoiles' vod rn) but it seems that aside from etoiles, bad was the only one to be able to have an extended 1v1 with the code and its new weapon.
and thats insane on his part! of course etoiles received that counter-shield all on his own merit, definitely not taking that away from him. but im really impressed how bad used his brains to set up an auto-refill backpack specifically designed to counter the sword and it worked. when etoiles came to assist, he killed the code in one hit, which makes me believe that bad could've definitely won a 1v1 with it if he whittled down its health that much.
i really hope bad gets to show off his battle prowess more often! im so happy that the backpack finally came in clutch today, but at the same time im a bit sad that he isnt being challenged more. he has the resources, skill, and intelligence to be a huge threat to the codes, and its to their detriment that they're not noticing.

A/n: this one made me cry a little so be prepared for some tears
Jesse was nervous.
Today was the day that he would be asking you, the love of his life, to marry him. The two of you had met a year into the war when you had volunteered as a civilian medic and he was one of your patients. Jesse had been with his fair share of women but there had been something about you that drew him to you. You had helped patch him up and sent him on his way.
The next time he saw you was at 79s and after listening to his vod say that if he didn't ask you out they will Jesse finally got the courage to go up to you and asked you out on a date. You agreed and Jesse was ecstatic.
The two of you had been together since and from your first date together Jesse knew that you were the one for him. Now, here he was a year later getting ready to ask you to marry him. With a never ending war going on and a guarantee of no tomorrow Jesse didn't want to miss his chance of marrying you.
Jesse watched you open your life day gifts from your friends and family and as you got closer to getting done he was becoming more nervous.
Of course he had a plan: he wrote you a little card that you would open and when you weren't looking he would get down on one knee and propose.
Jesse watched as you opened your last present and after you showed everyone the sweater you grabbed his card. This was it. The big moment.
You opened the card and read it: "to my loving girlfriend. From the moment you said yes to our first date I knew you were the one for me. Your smile, your laugh, your everything made me the happiest man in coruscant. I don't know where I would be without you. You have made me the happiest man in the entire galaxy. I will love you now and for the rest of my days. So I have just one question? Will you marry me?"
You turned around and found Jesse on one knee with a ring in his hand. You cried as you shook you head. "Yes, yes, a thousand times yes." Jesse slipped the ring on your finger and you held one another in a deep embrace.
Everyone cheered around you as you kissed and Jesse wipes your tears before giving you a keldabe kiss. "I love you, Jesse." "I love you too, cyare."
You pull away and you pour champagne for everyone. You hand glasses to your guests and for the rest of the night the two of you celebrate the future ahead of you.
