This is fun because Finley has Irish roots from his father's side, and he visited his grandparents a lot when they were alive. 👀
I see them telling him folktales when he was small and considering his fascination with the ocean, maybe his grandparents joked around that the wife he'll get in the future will be a selkie or merrow with how much he likes to swim.
Now I can't help but picture a little Finley walking around the beach trying to find a seal's skin.
As a grownup, the guy loves to try and find cryptids and document any weird thing happening around his area. He'd like to find a real selkie one day but if he ever does he's freaking out lmao.
(I know the Selkie is much more prevalent on the Scottish tales but there are also Irish versions?)
