Honestly, I listen to a lot of science, conservation, and plant podcasts too, and though I love a good true crime or audio drama, I need to give my science folks some love too. So, let's talk about The Field Guides (@fieldguidespodcast ). The Field Guides is a non-fiction, science show where our intrepid guides, Bill and Steve, go trekking around various parks, fields, and woodlands talking about a variety of plant, animal, insect, ecology topics citing papers and research, interviewing specialists, and all around just doing interesting stuff. Each episode they cover a given topic, from Sumac to Cicadas, crayfish to owls. It's an informative nature series for your ears! Bill and Steve strike a great balance of chatty light-hearted rapport and well-researched nature info. So mix it up! Go outdoors and discover the wonder of nature with The Field Guides! Just because you can't go far, doesn't mean wonder isn't around the next corner, or watching the behavior of your nearest squirrel. If you like learning nature stuff, the sound of crunchy leaves, two biology/ecology nerd buddies hanging out in the forest talking about peer reviewed journal articles, and/or nature documentaries, then The Field Guides is for you!
